The Bhutanese Royal Family has finally announced the name of the third child and only daughter of King Jigme Khesar and Queen Jetsun Pema:
Sonam Yangden Wangchuck
Sonam is a Bhutanese name denoting merit, longevity and good fortune. The name Yangden, meaning precious jewel, signifies prosperity and wellbeing. Wangchuck is the family name.
Her Royal Highness Gyalsem Sonam Yangden Wangchuck, photographed on 9th October, 2023, when Her Royal Highness turned one month old. Her Royal Highness, the third child of Their Majesties The King and Gyaltsuen, was born on September 9 this year. | December 09, 2023

Princess Noor bint Asem of Jordan, with her husband Amr Fareed Zedan, paid a courtesy call to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI of Malaysia & Tunku Azizah and King Jigme Khesar & Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan, at Qashru Munee Palace, Brunei Darussalam on 14 January 2024. Also among the royals is the 5-month-old baby Princess Sonam of Bhutan. The royals attended the royal bersanding ceremony of Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei at Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan earlier in the morning.

Major congrats to Lincoln graduate Sonam Lama, whose fight to save the critically endangered red panda has been recognised internationally with a prestigious Whitley Award, plus a short video narrated by the one and only Sir David Attenborough.
The world-leading award from the Whitley Fund for Nature recognises the Nepalese conservationist's work with the Red Panda Network, and his efforts in training 100 citizen scientists to help restore red panda habitat.
The award was presented by Whitley Fund for Nature Patron, HRH The Princess Royal.
Sonam holds a Lincoln University Master of International Conservation, which he studied under the Mingma Norbu Sherpa Memorial Scholarship.

The immediate reincarnation of Pema Ledreltsal, Longchenpa is regarded as an indirect incarnation of the princess Pema Sal. He was born in the Tra Valley of Southern Tibet to master Tenpasung, an adept at both the sciences and the practice of mantra, and Dromza Sonamgyen, who was descended from the family of Dromtönpa Gyalwé Jungné. Longchenpa was first ordained at the age of eleven and studied extensively with the Third Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje. He received not only the Nyingma transmissions as passed down in his family, but also studied with many of the great teachers of his day. He received the combined Kadam and Sakya teachings of the Sutrayana through his main Sakya teacher, Lama Dampa Sonam Gyaltsen, in addition to the corpus of both old and new translation tantras. At the age of nineteen, Longchenpa entered the famous shedra Sangphu Neuthok, where he acquired great scholarly wisdom. He later chose to practise in the solitude of the mountains, after becoming disillusioned by the behaviour of some scholars.
