Pink crab spider, Thomisus onustus, Thomisidae
Despite the common name, this species exhibits a wide range of coloration including pink, white, yellow, green, brown, or a combination of any of those. Like other flower crab spiders, they are able to change their color over a matter of days to more closely match their environment. Found in Eurasia and northern Africa.

Sandwing backs are really freckly with a wide range of shades which mimic sand so they can camouflage when looked down on from above.

I think if an archotech died it would be like a predatory whale fall. The power archotechs hold is simply too much for a mortal to handle without being elevated to a similar level of consciousness as the dead archotech, and making the logical decision to rejoin the pieces and bring the archotech back to life, the would be scavengers adding their own minds to its mass in the process. Like if a whale died and as the creatures dug into its guts they got tangled so tightly it was no longer possible to determine where they ended and the whale began, eventually their organs stir the whale back to life, ready to rejoin its podmates

wanted to voice my appreciation for how angular machete is, and how he gets even more angular when he's displeased
He's a little bit like that one owl that gets pointy when threatened.

i'm thinking more about it, and bronwyn doesn't typically scope out her own " clients. " since meeting helena, the dryad acts as a middleman for any possible deals, which is why she runs an inn, a medical practice, etc. in whatever town they settle in. people love to talk in such places, and they love to talk to helena. while a beauty, she is far less intimidating than bronwyn tends to be. it's one part their differing personalities and one part bronwyn's predatory aura.
it isn't just a feeling brought on by her behavior and demeanor -- it's something she exudes as a valravn. those who spend a length of time around her eventually become used to it and don't notice it much, but the raven does give off a feeling of danger to all those who approach her. meeting her will feel more like you're meeting a hungry lion rather than a normal woman. this is yet another reason she spends time in town rather than remaining at home; the locals are less likely to figure out what she is if they get used to her aura.
still, if one never becomes close with bronwyn, it'll be hard to shake the feeling that something is slightly off about her.
