@onenicebugperday The other day I was at the park eatin' my lunch when I found a very charming bug! I think it might be a grasshopper? I shared some of my honeycrisp apple with 'em, they seemed to appreciate that.

“Precious” by Clada
10″ x 10″ Acrylic on Canvas. Available. $150 USD. https://clada.bigcartel.com/product/precious
A friend of mine gifted me the canvas: Not in a thoughtful “I bought this for you” in an “I have this and have no use for it. It’s yours if you want it”. This is what became of it. Others, I am sure, have been in one-sided friendships or relationships. You meticulously tailor thoughtfulness is what you do for them: being available, gift giving, etc. This piece is a nod to “Absent,” but the female praying mantis is now alone. No solid ground, just abstracted surroundings. Because it can be easy to get lost in codependency or unhealthy relationships, she cranes over the wild daisies as if to protect them. It is a preemptive strike to guard any person's most precious thing: self-worth.
I took this unfriendly exchange with zero sentimentality and made something beautiful on it. That is a gift I am proud I possess

Flasher?
Viceroy larvae with two very impressive sets of racks 👌🏻💋
The Viceroy is considered a Monarch mimic in the way they both display very bright colors and similar patterns, they both also display polymorphism (which is when different territories will have different colors of the same species.). Vicroy is considerably smaller than the monarch but said to be equally as poisonous to predators that may consume them.

Eastern black-legged tick, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodidae
Commonly known as the deer tick, this species is a vector for several diseases, most notably Lyme disease. In most cases, the tick must be attached for at least 36 hours to transmit the disease.

People acting like animals should have a use or a purpose so that they have the right to continue existing is one of the most regressive and annoying things that I keep seeing fucking EVERYWHERE.
Animals should be allowed to live and are important for the simple fact that they are here and alive. You see it a lot with insects. Just because they are personally annoying to you doesn't mean they are less deserving of life. Everything interacts with everything else to keep the whole world ticking around, and it is not up to us to upset that. So what if mosquitoes annoy you. I don't give a shit. They shouldn't be blanket exterminated because of this. Not to mention the fact that they are important. They are pollinators, food for other animals, but even if they weren't, even if they just did nothing, that wouldn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to exist. What gives you the authority to decide that, huh? Why are you so special?
This goes for humans too, by the way. Why must a person contribute or work or whatever to be worthy of being loved and supported? They're alive, and therefore have inherent value. If you think that isn't enough, then you are the problem. Have some god damn compassion, or failing that, just keep quiet.
