Let's Discuss: Wonderful PreCure's lack of combat fights

So maybe it's the fact I have watched a lot of magical girl shows like Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Mermaid Melody, Mewkledreamy, etc. but like I posted on Twitter: I've watched enough mahou shoujo battles that precure not having a season with heavy hand-to-hand combat wouldn't—and hasn't—faze me!

That said, I do understand the fans who hope the cures do more than chasing and hugging the GaruGarus, BUT we haven't even been properly introduced to Cure Lillian and Cure Nyammy yet, so why lose hope in just 3-4 episodes?

Nevertheless, I can't police anyone's feelings, so do what is right for you! I just don't think the lack of combat fights warrants all this backlash so early on.

He's so cute. I have never been into dc comics or superman but this version of him took the "softboy adapts to city life while fighting crime" story and made it so anime coded. You know what I mean.

ok so he was only a magical boy for a couple episodes and he was never named as a cure in series BUT he absolutely deserved it and would’ve become one officially if higher-ups weren’t cowards!!

He started out as a fairy who wanted to become a Pretty Cure (magical warrior) with his twin sister Ciel, via the Power of Baking! but she was a bit better than him and his jealousy led him into darkness. He becomes a snarky teenage boy going on and on about how he’s horrible and made of darkness and stuff. However, he also jumped in front of a magical attack for his sister so she could finish her magical transformation. He pseudo-dies but comes back to save the other cures when things got tough! He sticks around and reconciles with his sister.

It’s a classic villain-to-cure Precure story that he was ROBBED of!!!

I'm obsessed!! Your crossover comic with Undertale, I LOVE IT! THE WAY PRIM IS STILL VERY MUCH SET ON HER WAYS, AND THE EXPRESSIONS! JUST IT WAS AMAZING!!

I can't wait to see more,,, Also, Prim and Mettaton, just saying, it would be silly.

ahh ty!! that makes me really happy to hear, prim and puka are some of the most interesting characters ive ever come across. the end of the movie gave us just enough to speculate about the two of them and their dynamic and brain chemistry is just endlessly fascinating to me <3 so being able to explore it through silly crossover is soso fun.

tbh i hadnt really thought about other ut characters! but on the prompt of mettaton,,,

i think prim would be forced to experience genuine disdain for the first time <3

she’s red riding hood but CYBERPUNK. and she’s part of the REBELLION. she’s can hack MILITARY tech in a matter of moments. she uses her WOLF VIRUS to hack into CROWN VEHICLES and RIDE THEM INTO BATTLE. she REPURPOSED a GOVERNMENT VIRUS into a weapon to HURT THEM. her GRANDMOTHER was killed by the corrupt government virus that she has since TAMED and uses it AGAINST them. her fiction (this is canon!): https://themechanisms.com/fiction/what-big-eyes/

mechs fans need a win methinks. my mutual told me to go submit red but i also have very strong opinions on her because this entire album makes me insane. red started as a young 12 year old hacker who eventually put her skills to the test when a government-made computer virus (called the wolf virus) went rogue and unplugged her grandmother from life support. (the wolf virus was initially intended to figure out what wasn’t necessary for the war and divert power to weapons instead. it went rogue and started going after people who would never be able to help the war [ie disabled and elderly]). so red FOUGHT IT OFF ON HER OWN and TAMED IT. so then she essentially had a weapon designed to take down crown weapons and vehicles. so she joined the war effort and fought for brutal 30 years. it’s unclear whether she survived the final battle, but i think she deserves to take the win. also. she’s in space. she’s cyberpunk. she’s part of a retold fairytale cast BUT IN A COSMIC WAR. it’s like if star wars was actually good.
