Hey folks of tumblr
I’m doing a research project on the science behind hyperfixation and if/why neurodivergent people (specifically focusing on those with autism and ADHD) might tend to hyperfixate more than neurotypical people. I’d be really grateful if you could answer this poll and spread it around so I could get a large sample size.
How I’m defining things in this survey:
easily: Very little exposure necessary (ex. I met this character/media today and I’m already obsessed) and/or talking about it near non-stop for a significant amount of time
moderate: More exposure necessary (ex. It took a week+ to get obsessed with a character/media) and/or talking about it significantly but you still talk about other things.
difficult: A lot of exposure necessary (ex. It took like a month+ of interacting with this character/media before I began to get obsessed with it) and/or you don’t talk about it much.
(if none of these fit perfectly, just pick whichever is closest to your hyperfixation tendencies. you can clarify in the tags if you desire. any critiques or clarifications will help with my research. thank you!)

is the magical girl tournament still going to happen?
At some point, yeah. After I finished finals, I had to get my wisdom teeth removed and then I caught the flu from my sister, so I’ve been a bit out of it for the past few weeks. I’m still working on sorting out the participants and whatnot. But I am not abandoning this tournament!

I think I’ll be closing them pretty soon, maybe in a few days. Submissions have slowed significantly, so I’m not sure how many more I’m gonna get.

So, if the character is originally from an anime, but I know them best from the English dub (watched it as a child on tv), do I put their original Japanese name on the form or their English name?
I think I’d prefer the Japanese name, unless they’re better known by the fandom as a whole by their English name. Overall, I’d prefer whatever name is better known by the fandom as a whole.

since koyomi is the actual magical girl in question i think her entry in the bracket should have her first? like koyomi (and stormy and haruto)
Oh yeah, probably. I’m just reusing an old edit (and I’ll put Koyomi at the top of the list at some point, just didn’t occur to me at the time). Can’t change the poll now, but yeah. I can probably make a new edit for them too if so desired.
