Purple Petals Falling Down (Dorlene)
An Au In which Dorlene aren't wizards but instead Dorcas is a princess who's very ill and Marlene is just a town girl selected by random to attempt to cure Dorcas.
INCOMPLETE
Book One of PPFD/GLLE
Prolouge
Their time was almost up, Princess Dorcas would die if no one could figure out a cure for her illness. The same illness nobody could figure out the cause of. Many townsfolk believed it to be from the purple roses surrounding the castle. Dorcas was far too sick to travel, so with nothing to go upon, the princess was doomed to die a slow and painfilled death.

okay here’s a long overdue plant update
so i was first off a lil worried the baby that went into shock wasn’t gonna make it so i just grabbed another. in case. it looks like it’s gonna make it now, but here’s the timelapse of that reporting (featuring the new sphagnum i bought)
i also changed my setup a bit (re: cleaned my desk for the start of the fall semester) so here’s what it looks like now:
Tumblr media
those lights are LED grow lights my mom had leftover—i’m not using them YET because we’re still getting lost of sun but i’m going to hopefully be able to use them to supplement in the winter when the days get shorter, only i’m worried they’re not intense enough to generate the PPFD my nepenthes will need. i might buy some similar but more powerful ones if i get really worried but it’s not exactly an immediate concern. all these pitchers are doing really good though, there’s new leaves and developing pitchers all around, including the gaya that went into shock which did lose all its pitchers but regardless seems fairly happy:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
what you can also see here is that my cat just chewed on some of them which is bad. not bad that it’ll hurt him, they’re nontoxic, but especially since he chewed the tip of that new bloody mary leaf will be bad for growth. the rest of the damage is rips in the leaves….that have pitchers on the end so for now i’m hoping it doenst harm their development too much.
other developments is Jesus Christ Moe’s basals and taking off and there’s more than I thought. also it’s SO fucking tall now goddamn

Cannabis-Pflanzenlichtanforderungen: Verständnis von PAR, PPFD und Lichtspektrum
Tumblr media

Top 10 Best Grow Lights for Orchids in 2024
Tumblr media
Orchids are a beautiful and delicate flower that require specific care to thrive. One essential aspect of their care is providing them with adequate light. However, not all light sources are created equal, and choosing the right grow light for orchids can be a daunting task.
When looking for the best grow lights for orchids, there are several critical factors to consider. The first is the type of light spectrum the bulbs emit. Orchids require a specific spectrum of light, including both blue and red wavelengths, to promote healthy growth and blooming. Another crucial factor is the intensity of the light, as orchids require a moderate to high level of brightness to thrive.
Additionally, the size and coverage area of the grow light should be considered. Depending on the size of your orchid collection and the space you have available, you may need a larger or smaller grow light. Finally, the overall durability and quality of the grow light should be taken into account to ensure it will last and provide consistent, healthy light for your orchids.
After researching and testing various options, I have identified the top grow lights for orchids that meet all of these criteria. These grow lights have proven to be reliable, effective, and provide the necessary light spectrum and intensity for healthy orchid growth.
