How to Donate to the Domari Society of Gypsies in Jerusalem

As many of you may know, the Domari community in Palestine is suffering alongside native Palestinians in the genocidal campaign headed by Israel.

Though we do not know much of the Domari's struggles in detail, I can only imagine it is the same extent as the Palestinians' struggles.

The Domari Society was founded by director Amoun Sleem in 2000 and since then she and her staff have done incredible things for the Domari, including providing resources and education to women and children.

On the Domari Society website, there is information on how to send donations via bank transfer, but considering that their main avenue may not be the most accessible to share and donate, I am making this post providing a step-by-step guide on how to donate to the Domari Society of Gypsies in Jerusalem.

Hey, I've seen a lot of people saying that you should support smaller-scale abortion facilities instead of spending on Planned Parenthood because, according to them, PP already has plenty of money.

While I totally support donating to local abortion care facilities, I think it's really dangerous to be spreading around misinformation about Planned Parenthood, so here are a list of reasons that Planned Parenthood is a really worthwhile resource right about now:

Planned Parenthood has a large legal fund and they know how to use it. Not only will they work on-the-ground to provide reproductive health services, they will work on the legislative level in every state to fight the legal battles that are about to become very fucking necessary. Donate directly to abortion services, yes - but if you want to protect the legality of abortion and the right to privacy in the doctor's office, Planned Parenthood's legal team will fight in the places where you, as an individual, cannot.

I've heard some people saying that Planned Parenthood actually does damage to the reproductive justice community because they "take up all the talking space" and then they'll say "well, abortion is only a small amount of what Planned Parenthood does" thus stigmatizing abortion. While I can't speak for every PP facility, in my experience during my volunteer trainings, THIS IS MISINFORMATION. Outside supporters of PP will say this ABOUT Planned Parenthood, but at my volunteer trainings the workers actually had us do spoken activities to de-stigmatize abortion for anyone who needed it. We were given multiple "abortion is good, actually" talks.

On that note, the things PP does aside from abortion are actually very important. One thing they do is distribute INFORMATION on a widespread scale. This information will often focus on important things to know about pregnancy health, when abortion might be needed, and communicative campaigns to spread abortion stories with specific participants' consent in order to de-stigmatize abortion and spread awareness.

A number of smaller "Pregnancy Crisis Centers" disguise themselves as abortion providers, but are really fundamentalist Christian centers in disguise. These centers will abuse and psychologically torture people who were planning on coming in for abortions. However, a Planned Parenthood is always what it says it will be. I support Planned Parenthood because I know exactly what my money is going to when I make donations.

If you do know of a smaller abortion facility that needs funding, by all means, donate! (Also if you go on PP's website you can choose a PP facility to fund directly, if you don't want your donation to go into their large legal fund.) But if you're supporting a smaller center, do make sure that they really are a legitimate abortion provider before you donate.

Let's not spread misinformation or be divisive, people! That will only hurt reproductive justice, in the end. If you want to support small-scale abortion care centers, absolutely do that. It will be very much needed in the coming months. But you can do that without dunking on Planned Parenthood and all that they do for reproductive rights, justice, and healthcare. It is entirely possible to be supportive of both.

Lesbian feminist Julie Bindel being attacked by a bearded man in June 2019 would, under normal circumstances, have been seen as an occurrence of men's violence against women, as well as a hate crime against homosexuals. Yet when the attacker claimed that he was a woman, this analysis was entirely nullified. The attacker turned out to be a rabid Twitterer, who on top of all things called himself Cathy Brennan after a famous feminist. Progressive commentators came out in support of the perpetrator and claimed that Bindel was the actual perpetrator of violence due to her views. What we see here is a symbolic reversal, eerily similar to that which occurs in abusive relationships, where the perpetrator assumes the role of victim. This generally referred to as DARVO: Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. Men assuming the role of women and then perpetuating violence against women is an extremely advanced form of gaslighting which presumably has very little to do with wanting to be trans or a woman. What we are dealing with is a neo-patriarchal political movement whose purpose is to silence and intimidate women. By sporting a beard and behaving violently, “Brennan” sends clear signals to women that he is a dominant male, while simultaneously claiming that he is oppressed both as a woman and as a trans woman and thus deserves sympathy. But both personas in the same body are not possible: a bearded biological man who does not pass as a woman cannot be treated like, nor oppressed like, a woman by society nor be the object of transphobia. Claiming otherwise is an advanced form of manipulation, in which both the role of the oppressor and the oppressed are occupied by “Brennan” himself, leaving the woman without a position. The underlying message is all too familiar: the woman spoke, and thus provoked the man to hit. Indeed, it is possible to analyse the violence and boycott campaigns around “terf”-accusations as patriarchy entering into DARVO-mode. While the patriarch of old would proudly state that he is the one in charge and no disobedience is tolerated, the trans-era brotherhood achieves the same by claiming victim status, and declaring that any female who disobeys us in fact dictator.

I’ve been told by various importers that any Mamoul cookie coming from Saudi Arabia or Damascus actually contains Iraqi dates, even though the label says “Select Saudi dates.” The baking dates used in these cookies come from Iraq—they’re of better quality and they’re also cheaper. Between 2002 and 2004 there was a company in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, that was bringing in dates from Basra, from a really famous company called the Al Moosawi Date Company. They were packaging them as Dubai Dates and selling them to the rest of the world as a product of the UAE.

That company stopped business in 2004 because there was a concern, actually a belief throughout the entire region, that the US and Britain had used depleted uranium in the bombs they dropped. From 30 million date palms in the mid-1970s the number fell to sixteen million, and by the end of the 2003 campaign Operation Iraqi Freedom, there were only three million date palms left in the entire country. And these palms were suffering from a kind of Fusarium bacterium, which many scientists link to the use of depleted uranium. The radiation lowers the tree’s immune system. The bacteria attack the trunk, making the trunks go flaccid and the crowns fall over. They end up looking like weeping people. It’s very sad, an ecological disaster that mirrors the human disaster.

Another thing I found out is that whenever anything is labeled from these other countries, Iraqi businessmen take an enormous hit. They see only 30 percent of their profit when these middlemen are involved. I talked about this with a representative from Dubai Dates. It was something he would never bring up with an Iraqi, because the relationship was so adverse. The Iraqis aren’t making any money, but it’s the only way they can get their dates out into the world.

I was also told that even a professional US importer would have problems bringing in Iraqi products. They’d have to wait months. I realized I might have to wait years. I called Charlie Sahadi and asked, “Do you remember me?” I said, “Listen, I found out we can import dates. I am talking to a company in Iraq that thinks we can do it—will you work with me?” He was saying things like, “Look, if this goes wrong, it’s like a black mark on our record, a blemish. The dates could be scanned, and you’ll end up paying $3,500.00 even before they get to our warehouse, and then the USDA [us Department of Agriculture] and the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] have to come and inspect them, and then they might get sent back.” So I tell Charlie I understand, but that I have a budget, and it’s cultural money. He said, “You know this is bad business.” And I said, Yeah, but it might be really good art. And he understood. He understood that if this works out, a big step could be made.

Ok, so i did a little comparison of the models

At first I thought that Senpai skin is based on Fender model, because he is HUGE, but it turns that's not true! Jacket in Senpai skin just gives that impression

Next I compared Ghost model from the campaign (Urban) to Konig. Their bodies aren't much different. The only thing I see is that Ghost has a bigger ass, and Konig bigger pp lmao

and finally, I compared first Ghost model from the campaign - Urban, to the latest one - Senpai.

What surprised me the most was that THEY ARE NOT MUCH DIFFERENT. Once again, this jacket makes him look bigger because of these weird shoulders
