Prompt 208
So Danny would feel exasperated, and probably should. But Dan is actually doing good and hasn’t even bitten anyone during this situation so that’s a win in his books. Now if the turned-into-a-four-year-old could tell him where he managed to grab this other child when he was supposed to be at the babysitter’s, that would be swell.
Or why there is a hero who nearly broke the door down in a right panic.
Like genuinely, he doesn’t know who was more surprised, him, or the hero who came running up half in a panic attack.

LRB but I'm replaying BG3 and Gale being on the knife's edge of Wholesome/"Dirty" is what makes him soo interesting to me. Like this is a man who, in two different versions of the same scene, can either sweetly and gently make love to your tav in a typical setting which transitions to a tasteful fade-to-black, or brings your tav's spirit along for a transcendent experience where he literally duplicates part of himself so he can have more parts to touch their parts in some crazy astral-soup sky world. And both are treated like valid expressions of his love!! Like the range they allowed him to express, he's not one or the other, he's both

Forever bummed by how boring demon fights are..... They're constantly present in the lore/story as a threat and being dangerous because they target you mentally is their Whole Thing, and well. That's kinda hard to implement into an arpg combat system ig. But it still bugs me that demons are barely more than any other random mob encounter.... Wished they'd at least idk, grant negative status effects? Maybe a sloth demon slows you down, or a pride demon prevents healing, or a fear demon reduces hit chance...... Or something. Or at least don't put them into every other sidequest.

So glad I backtracked to do the creche quest. I hadn’t thought a lot about Lae’zel beyond my impression that she was a bit of a cruel tool (in both senses of the word) held together by a rigid adherence to her religious code (which would’ve been fine if not extremely compelling to me, evil women rights etc etc) but then you get to the creche and it’s like oh. I understand you now.
Being taught to slaughter the siblings you grew up with, being told weakness was an offence to your goddess, service to your goddess being the first teaching you ever learn. It’s so damn good.
The way she desperately clings to this idea that it’s all simply a test, but she spills the blood of her kin to protect you like ough. Deep down she already chose, she believed you, before she even knew it herself.

I'm really not sure why people think that Crowley telling Aziraphale about 1) "shut your stupid mouth and die," 2) the Book of Life threat, or 3) the Second Coming would have changed anything about his decision. Those things are held up as like Crowley's Major Sins this season but genuinely. What would it have changed?
Aziraphale already knew Heaven was going to execute him in Hell fire. That was why they switched. Crowley says as much to him in the scene where they're fighting about Gabriel. And he knows probably better than Crowley does that the archangels are horrible and condescending; they've been saying things like that to him since at least Job. Why is the specific language so important? It would have just reinforced his view that the archangels as individuals are the problem, not Heaven itself.
Crowley doesn't tell him specifically about the BoL threat, but he's very clear that hiding Gabriel is putting both of them in incredible danger (a fear Aziraphale tells him is "silly.") And when he DOES try to warn Aziraphale of an active threat--the demons attacking the bookshop--Aziraphale brushes him off. ("I think you're overestimating how much trouble we're really in.") Plus, Aziraphale learns about the BoL threat later anyway, from Michael.
Theoretically there's more legitimacy to the argument for Gabriel's trial and Heaven's plans, but: I'd argue first that Crowley doesn't really have time to tell Aziraphale what he saw in Heaven in detail. The first moment alone they get, he's worrying about telling Aziraphale he loves him, and Aziraphale interrupts with the Metatron's offer. He could have brought it up during their fight, but...he kinda did?? "When Heaven ends life here on Earth it'll be just as a dead as if Hell ended it." And Aziraphale doesn't respond at all, not even to deny it. The one thing that MIGHT have swayed him was hearing that Gabriel was being punished specifically for opposing the Second Coming, but...I'm skeptical. Maybe he might have gone in a little more aware that he might be in danger, but he still would have thought that the problem was Gabriel, not Heaven. He would have thought he could reason with them. That's what he always thinks, when it comes to Heaven. And again, he should already know that Heaven would punish an angel for trying to stop the apocalypse—because they tried to execute him last time.
Other people have said this much more articulately but like. Aziraphale genuinely Was Not Listening to anything Crowley said in the final fifteen, and also the entire season. ("The angel you knew is not me." "Is it wicked? She needed the money!" "Are you sure you're sure?" "Look, there's something wrong, there's something really wrong!") The entire series, really. We saw this in S1, right? When Crowley tells Aziraphale that Heaven wants the war the same as Hell does, he tries to work with them anyway, and only decides to fully rebel when he's told by the Metatron himself that "The point is not to avoid the war. The point is to win it."
When this kind of information comes from Crowley, Aziraphale just doesn't hear it. He rationalizes, he makes excuses, he accuses Crowley of lying. Of course Crowley has given up on telling him things. Of course he's just started handling things himself. He could have told Aziraphale everything he’s seen and experienced down to the smallest detail since Armageddon and Aziraphale still would have left.
Anyway. Just me tapping the "this is more than a lack of communication, it's a conflict that's been going on since literally Before Time" sign.

so what actually makes sannyo your favorite character? what do you see in her that you don’t see in other characters
this image:
Im just kidding. Though she is really cute in it.
Truth be told, when UM came out I thought Sannyo was Super cool. Her "You darn fool" expression was probably the best expression in the whole game. but somehow, when the full game was out, she wasn't my favorite. I liked Tsukasa and Megumu and thought Chimata's outfit was crazy fun.
Though even then i preferred Sannyo's outfit design to everyone else's.
But Sannyo slipped from my mind due to what I'll call "Stage 3 syndrome" meaning, after the demo, Everyone likes the 3 stage demo characters for a while and pick a favorite among them, but when the main game comes out they get pushed aside really quick and people, more or less just move on to the new characters
But when I read her power and stuff in her Omake.txt she quickly became the coolest character in there. Of course she's a newer stage 3 boss so I obviously never expected to ever see her again.
(Though tbh my dislike of the smell of smoke probably wasn't scoring her any points, she was honestly at a disadvantage the whole time. I just like her enough to think it's cool when she's using her power instead. Besides, given what she says it's made of, it probably just smells like strange flowers anyway)
But then despite my assumption I'd never see her again, She appeared in Lotus Eaters chapter 29 and continued to appear occasionally after, Not only that......
She had the COOLEST, most cinematic intro in the entire touhou series. It was like 5 pages of slow walking through her Den politely greeting people, using her power, and even making aside comments with cynical gambling advice. Then meeting Mamizou at the door with a confident bow.
she's also got a crazy gap moe range of interests from obscure flowers to Dragons, proudly wearing the name Madame Komakusa, the after what is called the queen of Japan's alpine flowers.
And a crazy range of emotions. (Plus Lotus Eaters loves having her do something fun or cute in the background during her shift hours, even if the script dialog isn't calling for her)
she's mysterious, yet she's as expressive as an actual main character, she's got a range of principles, interests, and an incredibly cool gap moe thing going on. It's so rare for characters that were more or less side characters in their respective games to be this well rounded, I mean she's from freaking stage 3. But, She's awesome, adorable, and mysterious.
And it's not even a headcanon, or a fandom take on her, she is just genuinely like this in canon.

Prompt 168
So. Apparently halfas are like phoenixes or something, which Danny would’ve really liked to know.
See, usually with ghosts if they’re forced to retreat to their cores they reform as was, but apparently, since they’re still partially living, schrodinger's people and all that, halfas have to regrow their body from scratch. At least that’s what he’s understanding from Frostbite.
But how come he has to deal with it? It’s Dan’s fault for trying to pull such a stunt! Oh, it’s either him or Vlad? Well fuck, he might have calmed down and is going to therapy in both the living realm and the Zone, but he’s waaay not equipped to raise a child except for like, monetarily wise.
Well dammit, how long will this core incubation thing last, he has his new job in… let him check which offer he accepted again… He has his new job in Coast City that he needs to finish packing for and then all the rest of the stuff to do.
What do you mean it’ll take months?! He doesn’t have months?! Urgh, fine. At least being a mortician isn’t that exciting, nor dangerous. Just hand him Dan’s core and he’ll figure things out for the living side of things. He’s sure Tucker and Sam wouldn’t be against helping, if only to try and claim favorite aunt or uncle spots.

LIKE THE FUCKING???? THE PART WHERE HIS FOOT CLAMPS AROUND THE GAUNTLET AND PINS THANOS DOWN SO TONY CAN PUNCH HIM HARD ENOUGH TO MAKE HIM BLEED???
CINEMA.

Finally got enough energy to talk about Furina's SQ and while I loved her and the troupe, MC and Paimon were .... Not Great. I talked about this with friends but in Paimon's case especially, the way they interact with Furina feels like people who just don't understand trauma and depression and then engage with someone suffering from both in all the wrong ways.
Talking about how much of a downgrade her house is from the opera house, making fun of how she can't cook, pushing her to act when she's set a very clear boundary and then guilt tripping her after she's stuck to her guns, shaming her for not being able to fight well (Paimon literally talks about how second hand embarrassment is overwhelming and I'm just like ?????), telling her she's "not acting like herself" when she attempts to open up and be vulnerable....it's just really rough. That and the MC asking "is something wrong" when Furina gets sad over Poission ..like bro people died and she couldn't save them and she's tearing herself apart over it. Those people are never coming back and you know it and you have the gall to ask her is something wrong??? Of COURSE there is!!
It just feels especially odd because we literally get to see all of Furina's suffering and Paimon in particular is. SO mean? Like she was more understanding with Wanderer and Ei and THEY'VE tried to kill us multiple times!! I don't get it, and honestly I'm very proud of Furina for refusing to waver. Let her rest!! She's tired and depressed and she needs time to heal; and honestly fuck Paimon for trying to make her feel bad. Furina's worked harder than she EVER will.
