Hey, you. Yes, you. Be sure to get regular screening for STIs, stay up-to-date on vaccinations, and get your pelvic exams as applicable. This includes those who are:

Non-sexually active intravenous drug users

Exclusively having protected sex

In a monogamous relationship

Not currently sexually active/using, but have a history

Not engaging in penetrative sex

Have an increased risk for certain cancers or infections (E.G. immunocompromised, HIV positive, HPV positive, etc.)

Accidents can happen during protected sex. Infections can be asymptomatic or lie dormant for long periods. Catching an infection/abnormal cell growth early protects yourself and others. This is especially true if you're planning on becoming pregnant, or have a new long-term partner. Getting vaccinated for HPV and Hep B is also great prevention.

How often you need to be tested and for what is going to be variable. If you're not sure, you can always check the CDC's recommendations. Speak to your physician about any changing needs or specific concerns, too!

Can people who make uQuizzes not have obnoxiously short, unannounced, timed questions?

No, I cannot ~pick a word in 15 seconds.~

I have reading difficulties that prevent me from even reading all those words in 15 seconds. I've often used the entire timer just reading the question without even getting to the answers.

Even if I could read them that fast, I have muscle control difficulties that prevent me from clicking on them in 15 seconds.

And god forbid I be taking a quiz in a second-or-later language and need time to process what I'm seeing.

I should not have to be excluded from a toy quiz because you felt like being clever about timers!!

Better solutions include:

Just saying "pick a choice ~based on the vibes~" without a timer

Having the question immediately before it say "the next question will ask you [your favourite color/to pick one of 12 words/etc] and have a 60 second timer, do you understand? Yes/No"

Making the timer generous enough that disabled people will be able to engage with your quiz without feeling like they're being kicked in the face. I'm talking at least 30 seconds per one-word-choice.

Having the question say, "please pick a choice within 1 minute, don't over think this" and then not enforcing that, by not having a hardcoded timer!

NOT! HAVING! A! TIMER! WHAT IS THIS AN AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL?????

This past week I learned that:

You should replace the little rubber strip on your car’s windshield wipers when it starts to fall apart, which can happen after six months under heavy use. About once a year is probably fine. If, like me, you were unaware of the concept of replacing windshield wipers for seven years . . . your windshield wipers may be in tatters. And tattered rubber strips, believe it or not, suck at removing rain from your windshield.

Many people nowadays replace the entire windshield wiper. You don’t need to do that! The plastic/metal frame itself is very unlikely to be broken and throwing it out would be a waste! (And replacing it is more expensive than just buying the rubber strip.) Not only that, but the windshield wiper your car was manufactured with is specifically designed to conform to the shape of your windshield, and replacements might not fit as nicely.

The rubber strip is called a windshield wiper refill. Go on YouTube and see if anyone has a video describing how to replace it for your make and model of car. Lots of auto shops (and amazon bleh) sell cut-to-size versions of the refill - but you can probably order the original parts online and pick them up at your local dealership the next day for under twenty bucks total, both wipers. (If they charge you more than that it’s definitely a ripoff.) You might also be able to find pre-sized and/or model-specific windshield wiper refills that are not the original manufacturer’s parts - maybe for cheaper? But the difference will only be a few bucks since it doesn’t cost much anyway.

if your car no longer has its original windshield wiper frames, you could probably go with cut-to-size or pre-sized generic windshield wiper refills. Just make sure to measure the dimensions of the worn out rubber strips so you know you’re buying the right size.

Go forth! See clearly regardless of whether or not the rain is gone!
