can i just say i love how direct they are with each other. their respective romantic subplots are just all parties involved begging each other to communicate like human people but madwheeler besties worsties just yell their issues at each other whenever there's a hint of conflict. there's no guessing games. max hates ambiguity so she demands answers and mike doesn't give a fuck about people's feelings so he gives them straight. here's what's wrong with you. here's the problem. and there's no hard feelings on either side about it, ever. they always end up on the same team again by the end no matter what bullshit they were arguing about all season. it's so good and healthy and i'm so sad that we're getting so little of it

My byler hot take is that Mike treated El as nothing more than a normal kid in s1. He didn’t just keep her around so he could find Will, he let her stay bc she said bad men would murder her if he told anyone about her. He only called her a “weapon” bc he was trying to convince Lucas to help find her, before that he said he wanted to find her bc “she’s one of us now.” It’s a disservice to Mike’s character to claim he only liked her bc of her powers or bc she could help him find Will.
