A Spider on the Wall
A/N: Shit, I meant to post this yesterday.
Mommy waits impatiently for you to return to the Game Station. She had been hoping to play with you a little before she sent you to Wack-a-Wuggy, but you and Poppy had never come back.
It wasn’t like you could find another way to Statues or Wack-a-Wuggy, as none of the games were connected by any tunnels. And even if they were, Mommy kept the rest of the code with her, so it wasn’t like you could skip the games and take it.
But now that Mommy thinks about it...it's not impossible for you to have hurt yourself trying to get back. Mommy hasn’t been through the passageways in years, so she has no idea how derelict they are. Maybe she should go after you.
Well...better to be safe than sorry.
With the greatest of ease, Mommy leaps halfway across the Game Station and into the entrance to Musical Memory. From there, it’s a simple matter of finding the vent you went through to leave.
What isn’t easy is getting through the vent. Mommy may be able to stretch and squash her limbs, but her head, torso, and abdomen are a tight fit. Ugh, she hopes she doesn’t get stuck again.
“Poppy!” Your distant voice calls out. “Look at this one!”
Thank the stars, you’re okay!
Mommy reaches the edge of the vent. You and Poppy are goofing around in a room of rejected ideas. Or as Poppy and some of the employees called it, ‘The Island of Misfit Toys.’ Since neither of you seem to be in any danger, Mommy decides to simply watch you.
“Kick Me Paul?” Poppy says as she turns to you.
“Yeah! He’s like a big dumb potato!” You hug Paul and laugh.
“You know he’s not called ‘Hug Me Paul,’ right? You’re supposed to kick him.”
“Never in a million years!”
Poppy snorts and moves on. “What about this guy? Do you really want a Sir Poops a Lot toy?”
“Ew!” You stick out your tongue and laugh. “Who thought that was a good idea for a toy?”
“No clue, but would you want one?”
“To complete the collection, yeah. Too bad I don’t have anything to carry them in.” You shrug your shoulders and leave Paul where you found him. “Oh well, I’ll just come back after I get you guys out of here.”
Mommy sighs quietly. You’re really set on getting everyone out, aren’t you?
A torn set of blueprints catches your eye. “Aww, are these old designs for Mommy? I can’t believe these scared kids. They’re adorable!”
While Mommy doesn’t disagree, she is a little glad those designs weren’t used. They didn’t quite look like mommies, did they?
“Hey,” Poppy says quietly, “about what you said. About helping us all leave?”
“Yeah?”
“I don’t know if it’s possible to get everyone out. Some of the others might not be...around anymore.”
“What do you mean? Did they get out already?”
“No, no. They might be...” she trails off, and you suddenly get what she means.
“How?” You ask quietly.
“There’s something else in the factory. Something I probably should have told you about earlier.”
It suddenly clicks for Mommy. Poppy’s going to tell you about him. And if she does, you’ll leave for sure. And Mommy can’t let that happen, can she?
“There you are!” Mommy cries as she crawls out of the vent. “Mommy was ever so worried about you two!”
She wraps and arm around you and another around Poppy.
“We still have two more games to play! And you wouldn’t want to keep the other toys waiting, would you?”
You slowly shake your head. “I guess not.”
Mommy wraps her leg around the large Bron toy on the elevator and moves it out of the way. You’re too busy marveling at how strong she is to notice her and Poppy whispering to each other.
“What are you doing?” Mommy hisses.
“Making sure they survive! You know just as well as I do that if he finds out about them, they’ll die.”
Deep down, Mommy knows that Poppy is right, and she hates it. Mommy wants nothing more than to keep you here forever, but she can’t always protect you from him.
“Do you really think they’ll be able to get us out?” Mommy asks. “We’re all fated to die here someday.”
Poppy is silent for a moment. “It’s a big risk. One that I think they’ll take regardless of what we say. I think...I think the best thing I can do is make sure they at least get out, with or without us. And I know Huggy will help, too"
The trip back to the station is quiet after that. Mommy doesn’t have much faith that you’ll get everyone out, but she promises that she’ll at least help get you out.

AU Where Mommy Becomes a Reluctant Ally
Okay so I literally just thought of this and it definitely needs some tweaking.
- Poppy’s speech from the end of the chapter? Yeah, now that happens at the pit where she originally got snatched. Maybe it’s a variation of the debug version? I feel like beginning of ch.2 Poppy would be more up front than end of ch.2 Poppy.
- You and Poppy make it to the Game Station with little trouble. But upon reaching it you realize that you can’t leave for a few reasons.
1) The train code isn’t where Poppy said it would be.
2) Your grabpack doesn’t have the right hand (Pun unintended) to open the door.
3) There’s a giant Betty Spaghetty tangled in the train’s axles.
- Mommy notices you two and immediately reaches for you both, but you grab Poppy and move back before she can be grabbed. You ask what happens and Mommy explains that she and another toy had a little...disagreement that ended with her being run over. Poppy asks which toy did it, but Mommy won’t elaborate.
- You offer to untangle her but Poppy warns you that Mommy will attack you if you do. When Mommy sees you backing away from her, she reluctantly promises not to hurt you. She's been trapped under this thing for ages and she wants out. She even says she’ll give you the train code.
- Poppy trusts Mommy about as far as she can throw her but reluctantly helps you untangle her. Once you’re finished you take note of the sorry state Mommy’s limbs are in. They’re tightly knotted in some places and cut up from being, y’know, run over, but Mommy explains that it’s an easy fix as long as she can get to Playcare, giving her more incentive to not kill you yet.
- You ask about the train code and Mommy explains what she planned to do to whatever employee that was dumb enough to come back. As Mommy wraps herself around you and leads you and Poppy through the Game Station, Poppy begins to question your self preservations skills.
- You’d think getting the code would be easy now that Mommy is working with you, right? Wrong. The toys that Bunzo, the Mini Huggys, and PJ have been waiting for a playmate for a while, and the three of you will do nicely.
- Musical Memory is a breeze for Poppy. It’s still rigged of course, but she explains that she loves puzzles.
- As the three of you leave though, you can’t help but feel like something’s watching you. Something other than Bunzo.
- Whack-a-Wuggy is even easier with you and Mommy working together. But partway through, Mommy says that the Mini Huggys are being more aggressive than usual. Once the game is over, they all try to attack, but Mommy swings you through the window to escape.
- While you’re making your way back to the main section of the Game Station, you can’t help but notice the patches of blue fur scattered around the building. Poppy notices too and says that it looks like Huggy’s fur.
- Mommy - who’s mostly been reminiscing about the old days up until this point - says that she heard Huggy a little while before you and Poppy showed up. She says he sounded angry.
- You wince and think back to earlier that night. “I...may have dropped a crate on him and watched him fall into the depths of the factory.”
- Poppy and Mommy have very different reactions to this.
Poppy: ...What the fuck, y/n?!
Mommy: *Fucking wheezing*
- You explain what happened when you first entered the factory and Poppy has to concede that you were only acting in self defense. Mommy meanwhile, is laughing at how you’ve royally screwed yourself over.
- At least until Poppy says that Huggy doesn’t like her either. And in the state she’s in, she can’t really put up much of a fight. After that, very little is said about Huggy. You just try to keep your eyes peeled.
- When you meet Kissy Missy, Mommy flips out and nearly strangles you before Poppy tells her to calm down. Poppy tries to ask Kissy if she’s seen Huggy, but the pink monster leaves after pulling the switch.
- “I’m not sure why you thought she’d help,” Mommy says. “You know she always kept to herself.”
- While you’re trying to open the gates for Barry, you ask Mommy why she reacted the way she did. Mommy tries to dodge the question, but Poppy bluntly states that Mommy’s scared of Huggy. Mommy denies it, but Poppy brings up the last time she and Huggy fought.
- Naturally, you ask what the fight was about, and Mommy says that Huggy was upset over nothing.
- “It was because you kept treating me like a toy,” Poppy scoffs. “You shut my mouth and forced me to play with you.”
- “You are a doll, dear. What did you expect?”
- “To treat my like an actual person! You never do it to any of the others!”
- You try to defend Poppy, but Mommy quietly threatens to strangle you if you butt in. The two go at it for a few minutes before Poppy gets fed up. She climbs into a vent and tells you to find her when you get the rest of the code.
- Not even a minute later, you hear her screaming. You and Mommy follow the vents and find Poppy struggling in the hand of Huggy Wuggy. His fur is disheveled and matted with blood. You take a cautious step forward, but Huggy screeches at you and leaves with Poppy.
- You tell Mommy that you have to go after them, but she scoffs and says that neither of you would have a chance against Huggy. She still needs to go to Playcare, and you don’t have any crates on hand.
- Honestly, you’re a little tempted to leave Mommy and look for Poppy on your own, but you’d rather not face Huggy on your own again.
- You get to Statues, and before the instructional video can even play, Mommy launches you both through a window.
You: What the hell?!
Mommy: The game was impossible to win. I caved in the end of the course so I could kill you at the end.
- You’re really not surprised. For the last hour or so, Mommy had been very clear about what she was going to do to you once she was fixed.
- With Statues abruptly out of the way, you turn your attention back to Huggy. You don’t care how long it might take. You’re not leaving without Poppy.
- Almost as soon as you finish making that declaration, Huggy slams down behind you.
- He sees you, who sent him hurtling to the bottom of the factory. He sees Mommy, who treated Poppy like nothing more than a plaything.
- As you can probably guess, a chase ensues. The entire time, Poppy is screaming for Huggy to stop.
- Eventually you get to the grinder. Huggy’s hand gets stuck, and he accidentally turns it on as he tries to free himself.
- The screams he made will haunt you for months to come.
- As Poppy is screaming and crying for you to help him, it’s Mommy who reaches over and turns of the grinder. You faintly hear the sound of metal scraping on the floor, but you focus on Huggy instead.
- A tense silence follows as you all take in what just happened. Huggy shoots Mommy a questioning look.
Mommy: I wasn’t going to let you become a part of him. I don’t like you, but nobody deserves that.
- Huggy nods, and it seems that another truce has formed. As the four of you make your way back to the Game Station, you ask who “He” is. Huggy is shaking from the question, and Poppy and Mommy don’t answer.
- Poppy asks Huggy if he wants to come to Playcare with the rest of you. Given the state he’s in, he couldn’t refuse even if he wanted to.
- You all crowd into the cab and make your way to Playcare, only for the engine to pick up too much speed and crash...

I know the quality is not great, but I told you...the school graphic tablet SUCKS and I haven’t talked about the PREISTORIC Photoshop version they have.
Some concept are just that...concepts. Probably do them again from zero, or probably never we’ll see. These are all my personal version of the characters.

Child Reader Goes to the Factory
Reader is twelve or thirteen in this. Reader’s parent is also gen neutral, but reader refers to them as both ‘mom’ and ‘dad’. Parent feels really empty and overly formal.
- Today was supposed to be Take Your Child to Work Day, but after last year when you accidentally walked in on the other night guard putting on a bloodstained bunny costume, you decided to opt out.
- After your dad left for work, you decide to explore their room. You find an unopened package with a tape and a letter inside.
- You knew that your mom worked there (Mostly because they complained about how they got fired a week in because they missed a day), but not much beyond that. You glance at the well-loved Playtime Co. toys sitting on your dresser. You’re always down for some adventure, and maybe you can finally get a Poppy doll to complete your collection...
- By the time you get to the factory, your legs are burning and you don’t want to look at another bike for a year. You force your way inside the building and immediately take note of the blood everywhere.
“...This is gonna be that damned pizzeria all over again, isn’t it?”
 - Deciding to keep a look out for potential murderers, you grab a too big grabpack, enter the main building, and see...
Huggy Wuggy
- You run up to Huggy and give him the biggest hug you can- manage.
- Holy crap, he’s just as soft as your own Huggy! Oh, and you remember when yours was still this blue. You want nothing more than to hug him for the rest of the night!
- But alas, you came here for a reason, so you let go of Huggy so you can go fix the power.
“I’ll be right back,” you say, partially as a joke. “Don’t go anywhere.”
- Of course, you freak out when you realize he’s gone.
- Throughout the night, you keep seeing glimpses of Huggy. On the one hand, it reminds you of when you were little and pretended to hide from your toys in Hide and Seek. On the other, you’ve seen enough horror movies with your friends to know that you’re probably going to die tonight.
- The chase eventually ensues and you jump into the vents like there’s no tomorrow. You almost take a few wrong turns but you manage to get away from Huggy. You see a large crate sitting above you and try to hit it with your grabpack.
- You miss by a mile, and Huggy slams through the vent door and races towards you. You scream as he grabs you, but you calm down when you realize you’re still alive.
- Once you’re calm, you look down and see a series of catwalks. You ask Huggy if he wants to come with you, but he points back at the vents. You’re unsure if he’s telling you to leave or that he can’t come with you.
- You do eventually get what he’s trying to say and promise to come back for him. But in the meantime, you ask him not to kill oh god has he been killing people or just roughing them up so they’ll leave hurt anyone who comes into the building, just in case your dad comes, too.
- After Huggy leaves, you find a door with a giant Poppy flower painted over it. The warnings around it worry you, but you didn’t come so far just to give up now.
- Eventually, you find a glass case, and inside of it is...
Poppy Playtime
- When Poppy first sees you, she’s confused. The factory has been closed for years, so what’s a kid doing here?
- Originally, she had planned for whoever came back to help her stop The Prototype, but now she wants to get you out of here before you get yourself killed.
- At some point, she hears you say that you’ve always wanted a Poppy doll. She’s worried that you’re going to take her home and treat her like a normal toy. When you find out, you wholeheartedly assure her that you think she’s just as much a person as you are.
“Yeah, it’d be nice to have a Poppy doll to complete the gang, but that’s not what you are. You’re my friend, and you’re just as real as me or my dad.”
- And just like that, you’ve become Poppy’s favorite person. You were already in her top five for freeing her, but you just became number one.
- She tells you about all of the reject toys and you both laugh over some of the silly things she’s seen Huggy do.
- Simply put, she’s your buddy, and you promise yourself that you’re not leaving without her. You’re still not sure how you’ll explain her and Huggy to your mom, but your sure you’ll come up with something.
- And when Poppy is snatched up, you jump into the pit after her without a second thought...

Poppy Playtime Headcanons
Tumblr media
- After spending so long in her case, Poppy is almost completely incapable of standing still. If you’re trying to talk to her, she’s either pacing or tapping her foot and bobbing her head.
- She’s also a little claustrophobic, but she’s fine in the vents as long as she isn’t cornered in them.
- Poppy doesn’t like being picked up. If she hasn’t given you her express permission or if you’re lives aren’t in danger, she’s biting you until she either draws blood or you put her down.
- When Poppy does let you pick her up, she never stays in your arms. She prefers to hang off your shoulder.
- She’ll never admit it, but she’s fucking terrified of Mommy Long Legs. If her mouth hadn’t been webbed shut when you meet Mommy, she either would have been just as silent or quietly whimpering.
- Poppy tends to snort when she laughs. She’s also a fan of corny jokes.
- Contrary to what her commercial says, Poppy isn’t concerned about looking her best. Huggy and Kissy once found her with her skirt torn and a shoe missing (It was so hard to find that they genuinely considered gluing them to her feet to stop her from losing them again). She tries to keep her hair clean, but she really doesn’t care about her appearance beyond that.
- Poppy becomes detached and seemingly emotionless when she’s really pissed She usually doesn’t get like this unless someone treats her like a toy.
- Part of why Poppy learned the train code was because she wanted to drive it one day. Yeah, leaving the factory was a big part of it, but she really likes trains.
- She once earned herself the nickname “Poppy Pottymouth”. As any of the toys will tell you, she can turn the air blue with her sailor mouth. Of course, she’s made the mistake of doing it in front of Mommy only once...
- Poppy knows how to sew. Making herself new clothes is one of the few things that can get her to stay still.
- When Mommy ‘plays’ with Poppy (Much to Poppy’s chagrin), she usually dresses the little doll in replicas of her prototype outfits. You and Poppy burned them after Mommy died.
- Poppy can come off as overly trusting, but don’t let that fool you. She’s prepared a hundred different ways to pay you out if you double cross her.
