everytime i remember almost no-one in the fandom seems to think guillermo de la cruz is ace i get so mad. it's partially about my own expectations bc watching the show i just sorta assumed everyone would bc it's so very obvious to me. like you can't tell me he was tryna come out as gay at that table lmao. he would not feel the need to make it into such a thing, they never expected him to be straight. coming out as asexual however? to these sex-obsessed vampires? of course he'd feel the need to explain and justify himself with a long speech, if he didn't they wouldn't believe him, they would not understand it as a real possibility. there's plenty of other stuff too that i don't remember specifically enough 2 talk about. also it just seems like poor media literacy to me. i can't say that with certainty cuz i don't actually know the writers' intentions either but to me it's rly just canon that he's ace. i know queerbaiting is an issue and we need explicit representation and in my ideal world he is explicitly stated to be asexual in a future episode of the show but im also a strong believer in not needing characters to look at the camera and state their identities for them to have those identities as a written part of their character.

S5E8 "The Roast" thoughts:
Tumblr media
Ok, I watched this episode three times and I'm still smiling. I love when you think and episode is gonna be about something because of its title and then surprise you when its all a misdirection (see also: Succession's "Connor's Wedding").
At first Laszlo's err… state intrigued me, love everyone projecting and imposing their own insecurities (Guillermo's secret, Nadja's hex) as a reason on why he is behaving like that. And of course it's a stupid reason 😭.
"And a flat pepsi for Guillermo". Oh Nandor, that's the worst thing you ever done to Guillermo, that's the worst thing you could do to anyone. And yes, I remember a certain S4 episode.
I screeched like a bird when Colin mentioned dreaming about being a baby under Laszlo's care, not only because I wanted this shit to happen since the past finale, but also I really thought the episode was going on that direction (and also bc its another W for my predictions).
Having said that, LOVED the nonchalance of Nadja and the others when they were like 'no, it wasn't a dream, that totally happened'.
I mentioned it in a separate post: they really had a Sweet Dee in IASIP moment when The Guide gave the roast idea, only to be ignored and then the same idea being stolen by a dude who is celebrated.
Seanie's poor brain it should be soup at this point, we don't know if he can hazily remember the event like it happened before.
What can I remember is his line after Nadja's roast because it was one of the biggest laughs for me: "Women CAN be funny!" I fucking loved it so much, it's the perfect condescending shit straight men say all the time, even when they're trying to be complementary to you they can't stop being garbage. It was a simple line but Anthony nailed the delivery and timing. Seriously, rewatch that part.
At first I was confused why all the jokes were so mid, but shortly I realized this episode wasn't about the roast at all, lol.
Just by watching screenshots of other users I noticed that in the scene of Nandor resting his head on Guillermo's shoulder there's a BIG flame between them. LMAO. There's no way that is unintentional.
Good for The Guide being the catalyst of Baron Afanas learning the truth. I was demanding more screen time for her lately, so having some incidence in the main plot goes on the plus column.
The other guests present at the roast being shocked at the knowledge of Guillermo killing vampires surprised me; I always assumed Guillermo being a familiar/slayer was a known fact in the vampire community after his very public massacre at the Théâtre des Vampires.
Fuck yeah when I realized this is a Doug Jones spotlight episode, I just fuckin ahgdjkaksdf, love him, perfect, no notes.
The Baron being terrifying!! Guillermo was seriously scared for the others and he barely tried to show off his Van Helsing abilities.
Nandor and Nadja begging the Baron to not hurt Guillermo!! 😭 Them being dragged while grabbing the cape!! 😭 They're spiritual siblings to me!! 😭😭
They really reminded me a little bro and sis begging their mom to not hit their beloved older brother with the chancla for talking back or something.
I fell for the two fake-outs with the sack lol I'm so gullible when it comes to vampires I guess.
NANDOR PAINFUL SOUNDS (MOANS???) WHEN HE BELIEVED HE WAS IN FRONT OF GUILLERMO'S INERT BODY. IT WAS SAD BUT ALSO A LITTLE HORNY!!!
"At least he died doing what he loved: beating off in the toolshed."
A wonderful small detail: After Laszlo opened fake Guillermo with the knife he cleaned his hands on The Guide's dress.
Idc if you think its dark, the whole 'Nandor will kill you and then kill himself' bit becoming a recurring joke it's peak writing.
I wish I can say something more serious about Baron Afanas' sadness over how boring his life is now. But I just keep thinking that the way he talks about his homelife with The Sire and the Hellhound sounds exactly when a dude has a middle life crisis and suddenly he doesn't enjoy his marriage anymore. They're husbands!! And I loved how cunty he looked at the end all half-charred (see posted gif) Queen!
Now, the Nandermo of it all: What more can I say than incoherent screaming and foaming from the mouth? Episodes 8 are all about them again!! Nandor on the window looking all cliched melancholic heroine of a romance novel?? How relieved he was when he found him in the coffin??? Him still remembering Guillermo's card word for word???!! Knowing that this toxic dark sided devotion goes both ways???!!! Borrowing the words of Fleabag: THIS IS A LOVE STORY.
Seriously, I know all these soft Nandor moments are here so the heartbreak when he learns about Guillermo being turned it's even bigger. But still denying that there is a romantic undertone between these two it's just being purposely adamant at this point (i'm looking at you wwdits reddit). Even if nothing explicitly romantic happens on screen, just by watching these moments, I know, we know.
Now, go listen to the ending song again. You will not regret it.

What I loved about WWDITS S5 Episode 4 (SPOILERS!!!):
Sean has over 9 DUIs
“Robby Robinson”
The high five/fist bump combo
Nandor wanting Guillermo to ogle him at the gym
Nandor saying “very cool” to Alexander being Jewish
(Also having a Jewish character in general)
“Meshugas - that means stuff” (ps to gentiles, this is not a correct statement)
“Kibitzing” I love Nandor so much but he’s getting it so wrong
Was not expecting to talk about this but fair warning I will be talking about every Jewish mention in this episode I’m starved for content
“We are mishpocha”
Nice to know someone thought positively of us back then
“I had no idea there were Jews in New York City” I can’t
“Kvelling” Nandor please
“Quit your kvetching” that’s- that’s actually correct
Collin Robinson not caring about being comptroller but just wanting to drain everyone
Evie!
Colin Robinson quoting romantic movies
Nadja’s actually working!
Laszlo trying so hard to get on the antipaxon’s good side but being terrible at it
“He seemed harmless and kinda lonely” lmao
Colin Robinsons feeding off people by dropping his cards
The fact that the livestream of the debate is 5 and a half hours
Colin Robinson letting Evie come in and feast with him
The two of them still annoying/feeding while being kidnapped
There’s a supreme council of energy vampires???
Said council being just as horrible as them
Colin Robinson and Evie being in awe at how good they are
“Does this fill me with a crippling sense of self doubt? Sometimes” poor guy just wanted a friend now that Guillermo’s not spending all his time with him
Is- is Nandor trying to convert???
“All hail bureaucracy”
Colin Robinson still having to sabotage himself because he just can’t do it
“Twins”
The fact that apparently Nandor’s foreskin grew back very fast
“Now he thinks I’m meshugana, which means he thinks I’m a little bit of a putz”
“I can speak 14 languages, as long as they are English”
The fact that the antipaxons all think Laszlo is the reincarnation of some oaf that brings “good luck and good fortune to everyone”
Evie running for comptroller instead
Nandor telling Guillermo to “shut the fuck up” during the movie when he couldn’t shut up earlier

Honestly my favorite thing about the (not surprising) revelation that Freddie was Guillermo’s first real relationship is that like...
Guillermo has spent thirteen years hunting humans who are as emotionally stunted, lonely, and socially isolated as possible. He actively judges these people for being all three of those things. We’ve seen him giggling to himself and saying “nerd alert” after finding a group of older virgins whom he intends to straight-up murder.
So maybe! Being forever alone! is what you get! for how you treat other people who are just as lonely and fucked up as you are, Guillermo!
Maybe you’re not better than them and you never have been!
People keep being like “oh, poor Guillermo, he’s so socially stunted” and like... Yeah, it’s sad and he’s my favorite and I want him to be happy, too. Some of his social isolation is the vampires’ fault... but not all of it.
Some of Guillermo’s social isolation is that he judges people just like him and then MURDERS. THEM.
Hey Guillermo, maybe if you didn’t look down your nose at people like Derek and Jenna, you might’ve had a real human relationship before now! Hell, if you had treated them like real people after they were turned, maybe you’d have relationships with some vampires who are actually nice to you!
(like damn, you know it burns him up that the nerds he judged as being lesser than him got to be vampires before he did. lmao.)
So despite all of my very complicated feelings about 4.09, I’m also just kinda like... huh! Looks like judgy-ass bitch over here finally got judged himself and was found lacking!
Love you, Guillermo, but you deserved to get dumped. You didn’t deserve to get cheated on, but you did deserve to get dumped.

notes on watching the first episode of wwdits season five for the second time
WWDITS SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY
the first episode literally starts with Laszlo talking about Guillermo. Does this mean that they are the main arc of the season? (I just recently found out that people ship them and I kind of love that)
The Guide is in the opening sequence!!!
"poor creatures only live for like two, three hundred years, tops:("
tbh I think that being a waiter is the perfect job for Colin. also the tie is very him
jalapeno poppers
genuinely I feel really bad for Nadja Doll and I wish they'd treat her nicer :((
Laszlo is *very* preoccupied with Guillermo... is he maybe trying to distract himself from the whole Baby Colin thing
(speaking of which I will be kinda pissed if they don't address Laszlo's feelings about Baby Colin)
"a vampire named Andy?? that's so random!" lmao
I love how the editors purposely made it super awkward when Guillermo paused for the montage
"it was just like-- *fshhhshsfhshfhshss*" -Guillermo
he's stressed out and probably also pretty embarrassed that the turning didn't work how he thought it would
He is in quite a pickle oh no
i love how excited they all are for the mall aww (same though I love the mall)
honestly the scene with Nandor on the carousel is so iconic I love that for him
Guillermo absolutely planned out that "the deed is done the die is cast" thing SO far in advance. I love how he's trying to be cool while literally bleeding out
"I don't feel any sexier"
it's been 16 days
saying he "accidentaly" got turned into a vampire isn't *technically* a lie?
Nandor is being uncharacteristically sweet
I saw a post talking about how much more comfortable Nandor's body language is with Guillermo, and I'm noticing that a lot on this rewatch

Hi Fareeha! I was wondering, about your bloodborne ships what was your first impressions of them?
What intrigued you and what happen that made you like them that much now? Or did it just came naturally? ;)
I am sorry it took so long! It's 1 PM right now, I managed to GOT up somehow lol... Don't even remember how fell asleep yesterday. Also was occupied with fanfic, trying my best, etc... But to the topic:
Since my first ship was gehrmaria, I’ll start with it.
Romance, sadness, age difference... An old hunter grieving for his beloved who has passed away. All this reminded me of old european ballads that I was reading in my 16... A very beautiful story, unexpectedly romantic for Bloodborne (although it can be interpreted in different ways, not only romantically, but still it is fascinating). Let me add that they both look aesthetically stunning! They are classical, they are tragical, they are... perfection.
First impression for all other ships was: "How do you guys know anything about them?? There is nothing in game about them!!! How can you ship Caryll, mf is not even NPC?? Where do you get an information?? Who tf is Edgar? Oh, I killed him?..."
I swear I was shocked, when learned that fandom has CRAZY amount of ships. First Playtrough I barely got who is Laurence lmao, what IS Healing Church and so on... I can say sincerely - I started to Really understand, why is Valtr insane, why Laurence is VICAR, not bishop, why Annalise's hair are white and not brown, who tf can be siblings in a damned Research Hall and etc ONLY because of @katyahina timeline. My brain can't contain SO MANY info I swear, but I am trying, getting Insight every time I read this (in a good way ofc, I want to see Amygdalas in my sweet Yharnam-like city!)
So. Ships with Micolash. At first I brought him together with my hunter, Guillermo, and was pleased with myself - my story for them sounded convincing, thoughtful and hot xdd Guillermo - a madly in love hunter who, for seeing a drop of light in Micolash (in his past) and hearing Kos's whispers, is ready to die a hundred times, endure literally everything... Poor man! xD And Micolash who is insane enough to feel neverending cycle of NewGames, I mean, that he may even remember that he died already from hunter's hand, that hunter killed him 4 different ways, and I think Micolash would be frightened and lost? He genuinely thought that Nightmare is a perfect realm, HIS realm, but it turns out that someone else is good as Micolash himself to eat cords and ascend but succesfully. Oooof. I like that, Love and Despair, Love/Hate and etc. Oc x canon is really fine, when there are FEELINGS and TENSION between your char and canonical char.
After some time I got to know that silly guy with glasses on from a bridge is somehow really interesting deep character! xD And he's a cutie himself! (I mean look at him. My sweet accountant, my beloved nerd, and it's not a sarcasm!! He looks exquisite) I really like Edgar x Micolash for my beloved love/hate theme, slight toxicity and Edgar’s unspoken dependence on his enemy (Micolash is often made too “submissive” in their pairing. He may be and even must be bottom, but he is too much dominant as a person to be so naive and crying because Edgar-senpai is ignoring him). Edgar is a choir boy, soft, afraid of Micolash, is angry with him, but inside he cannot live without his attention. And Micolash - I think he liked Edgar as something unusual, fresh in his life (or death), something absolutely different from everything he had seen. Moreover, a spy. Moreover, he is so confident in the Church. But can change his opinion and most likely will. A perfect object of entertainment and moral debate. You can break him and win him over to your side. Nice pairing. I'm still in love.
Laurence x Micolash - kjdsflak;sdjfwernmfklaaaawoooooo!!!11!1! This ship is driving me crazy, I can't!! xD They look great together, they are similar, they are two brilliant minds seeking for knowledge, two scientists, two rivals, two assholes. But it seems to me that they would definitely have separated, because such similar people are unlikely to be together for a long time. I mean, they both need primacy too much. And it would destroy them. I also don't like Laurence, I can't help it. Maybe because I still don't fully understand his character?.. Maybe.
Damian x Micolash - amazing! I am now captivated by this pairing and am writing a story based on it. They are beautiful combination of an adult, serious Damian and an energetic, hot-tempered Micolash, as a couple they are divine. Damian... still waters run deep and all that. He is strong, thoughtful, cold, he can knock out any threat to his loved one. As a former Tomb Prospector and a Mensis Scholar, a byrgerkinght student, he must be really educated and smart, but also well-built and powerful, graceful and deadly. Micolash is his master and also a little boy. I headcanon that Damian is like 15 years older than him? And that's great. Wonderful, soft ship with a deep conflict of Damian's humanity and Micolash's curiosity and confidence.
Am I shipping anything else? With such passion - no. But in general, I like Laurence/Ludwig, Caryll/Rom, recently one nice person helped me realize the potential of Micolash/Adeline and I am kinda hmmmmm interested? XD I need more time to think of it. I met this pairing earlier but was like "pppft they couldn't even met!", don't blame me :'D
I respect all pairings, if they have something like plot in them. It’s especially nice to see when an artist or writer is truly devoted to his favorite couple and describes it with soul, it just makes you look at the couple from a different angle and start scrutiny.

maybe a double-turned vampire only explodes if the second vampire to bite them is weaker than the first, like their blood is a downgrade so the body can't survive on it, and there's a huge difference in power level between derek and the baron. they should do another test, find some poor guy on the street for derek to turn and then bring him to laszlo or nadja, see what happens lmao. what if laszlo tests this theory and doesn't tell guillermo? and then when shit hits the fan laszlo intervines and tells nandor to try, worse case scenario guillermo dies as he intends, best case scenario, nandor is now his sire (thing is idk if nandor would go through with it and risk killing guillermo for real) or guillermo is the one to tell nandor to bite him, like, if he's going to die he wants to choose how and try his luck (and feel nandor's fangs on his neck, as a treat)
sry i forgot to answer this but nice thoughts! i do think that they should have done some more tests before giving up in order to locate the exact reasoning of why The Baron's neighbor exploding before calling it a wash, but thats kind of how the vampires roll. actual experimentation and scientific method is too tedius lol.

WWDITS S5E2 Thoughts
Oh, shit, Laszlo's throwing shade
Though you did hypnotize Sean after you tried to kiss him. Let's not forget that
Poor Guide.
Laszlo don't hypnotize Sean. Don't do it.
Damn Laszlo's batting 1000 this season
I been there, Guide. I have been there.
Jenna's transformation in season 1 didn't happen overnight and was also pathetic, so maybe there's something like that happening?
Okay maybe hypnosis is okay sometimes. Like when you use it on cops
The Guide was definitely fucking with her but that picture is real.
Well, that didn't work.
The "Do Not Distribute" watermark lmao
I'm happy for Nadja. Not about the hex, about finding her people.
Maybe the Guide is hexed. Nadja has no business being that bitchy to her.
Baron Afanas my beloved
Hm yeah that didn't work.
I know I said to hypnotize cops but I think they went a little overboard
Yeah Guillermo is fucked
Laszlo is great this season so far. I'm glad they're doing something with the Guide and Nadja. I was expecting more Sean this episode but that's okay. I know there's gonna be more.

Initial thoughts on WWDITS S4E10: “Sunrise, Sunset”
In the all-too-relatable words of Zuko, my reaction to the end of that finale was: That’s it? That can’t be it. Where’s the rest of it???
That was an interesting, funny, and kinda depressing finale. Poor Lazslo. Kinda don’t feel bad for Nadja but whatever lmao. Guillermo-Lazslo coparenting moments were great as usual.
Holy shit am I glad that Colin Robinson is back to normal though. I was worried they were gonna make him a different Colin for the rest of the show. I like how they explained him going back to normal too lol. I guess this is just what happens to him every 100 years and some random people just raise him (like his grandma probably). It still begs the question of where energy vampires come from though… Maybe we’ll find out in the next season or two.
I was pretty disappointed with how little we saw of Nandor for this being the season finale, and the extreme lack of Nandor and Guillermo moments, especially after the shitshow that happened last episode. I had a feeling Guillermo was gonna leave at the end of the season since there’s really nothing keeping him there. I definitely think something is up with Nandor - I bet he’s still depressed and is just hiding it.
I was also disappointed to see Guillermo leave without saying goodbye to anyone, though I do get it. He’s been treated like shit for over a decade, undervalued and unpaid. If Guillermo does manage to become a vampire via Derek, I honestly cannot *wait* to see the look on Nandor’s face when he finds out. Though I’m still wondering if the headcanon that Guillermo can’t turn into a vampire due to his Van Helsing blood will actually come true, and/or that any vampire who tries to bite him will turn human again.
All in all, kinda have mixed feelings about this one. Not a super strong finale or episode in general. Definitely some major plot developments. Let’s hope they actually follow through on them in S5 better than they did this season.

this finale was so weird and bittersweet to me… I mostly liked it, but it also left me feeling kinda sad, and it's not about nandermo not becoming canon (yet), like whatever, I know they're going to milk it like sitcoms always do with their will-they-won't-they relationships, but until now I never worried about the series finale. I took for granted guillermo would become a vampire in the end and all of them would stay together at the vampire residence, like a family, but now I fear guillermo will follow a different path, and even if he stays, it won't be for eternity. I'm annoyed that after all of these years of dismembering bodies and the like, he's like 'oh I dont want to kill anyone :((' like wtf guillermo? suddenly he's too good, too pure for the vampire life…. he told nandor to stop fucking complaining and feeling sorry for himself and that people (he) would kill to have what nandor has, and now this?? but also, as much as I wanna shake him, as a nandor fan I feel vindicated by this turn of events lmao
-nandor said vampirism was a curse, wanted to be human when depressed, and guess what? now guillermo agrees (after what? a couple months of being a half-vampire? imagine 700+ years of that)
-he said guillermo wasn't ready, and guess what? he was right
-he knew the van helsing blood was getting in the way
-he knew drinking human blood would complete the process
-he knew how to reverse it
-he knew what guillermo would choose because HE KNOWS HIM BETTER THAN ANYONE, again: he was right! he knew guillermo better than guillermo knew himself
-he also knew where guillermo's mom lives and called him from there???? he knew exactly how to get guillermo to come out of hiding and he only did that after diciding not to kill him, because deep down he never actually wanted to
-he spoke farsi!!!!! (my new headcanon is that he's been reading farsi books and slowly remembering) more of this please
-he killed people AND he looked great while doing it
I was dissapointed the reveal wasn't as emotional as I hoped and I wanted a fight ngl or idk… something more, a longer conversation between them, but it is what it is. plus nandor got to kill derek so he got his revenge (poor derek tho, I'm glad he's been resurrected, but nandor wanting to kill him and actually going through with it? amazing)
all in all I'm pretty happy with the episodes even if they're not what I expected. it's the implications all of this has for the future that make me uneasy

I hope you don't mind me sharing but I headcannon that Evie has murdered millionaires to get their money and housing and was able to frame it like she was the poor victim who had no choice but to defend herself <3. And she always has a knife under her skirt but no one knows that. She knows it can be dangerous to be vulnerable with strangers so it's there for safety.
LMAO I don't mind at all, it's an insane headcanon and I love it. As she should. If Guillermo can embezzle money to wear Versace she can kill millionaires. Slaying etc.
