Feel free to not publish this anon rant if you don’t want to, but I need help understanding poly gangsey plus. (Not talking about sarchengsey)
I try not to yuck anyones yum in fandom culture, but something feels icky to me about taking a canonically gay character who hates nonmonogamy and putting a sexual, multiple-partnered (including women) dynamic upon them (and minimizing it as a “growth journey” for Ronan).
I was there for “they were all a little in love with each other” but I think there’s something to be said about normalizing the value of platonic love, especially between male characters.
I don’t know, hope I don’t come off as an ignorant ass, but even as a queer person, I just can’t get it.
Oh anon, you're so right! Platonic love isn't as explored as romantic and sexual pairings in fandom, which is a shame because it is so important and can be very satisfying to read.
I hold my hands up though, I often take things in a romantic direction because I enjoy reading and writing it. Love and infatuation and heartbreak are just so fascinating to me.
BUT you are so valid and do not sound like an ignorant ass at all! I love that we have such intricate relationships to explore between the Lynch brothers/family in general and I think as a fandom, we do that quite well. Thanks for the rant! I love a good rant.

Someone may well have already done this but seeing as it's Pride month:
TRC/TDT Pride Headcanons! 🌈
Ronan - Wasn't planning on going until he found out that Jordan has convinced Declan to join. Then he goes purely to assist Henessey in relentlessly mocking him. Wears all black and a collar that says something provocative like "Daddy" or "Bottom". He wears it partly for kinky reasons but mostly to make Declan uncomfortable. Holds hands with Adam the whole time cos despite the risqué get-up he actually really does not want to get hit on.
Adam - Doesn't dress up but lets Blue apply some subtle face paint in the bi colours. Maybe has a little bi pride pin as well. Is mainly there for the sake of hanging out with friends but enjoys the atmosphere and sense of community as long as they avoid the parts that are too noisy or crowded.
Gansey - Absolutely thrilled to be there. Is there as an ally but is probably more hyped than any of the actual queer people he's there to support. Gets hit on several times throughout the night but is completely oblivious every time. Gets super emotional about how much he loves his friends and how honoured he feels that they can be themselves around him. Definitely cries at least once.
Blue - Wears as many rainbows as it's feasibly possible for one human to wear at a time. Rainbow clothing full of holes and rips revealing different equally rainbow coloured layers underneath. Gets into a competition with Hennessey and Ronan about who can aquire the most free condoms by the end of the night.
Noah, Henry, Jordan and Hennessey - I don't have strong headcanons for these guys other than the fact that they would all wear a fuckton of glitter and probably flirt a bunch.
Please feel free to share your own TRC Pride headcanons.
I tried to keep these ones as canon-compliant as possible but would love to see pride headcanons for bi!Gansey or poly!Gangsey.

wld not at all blame you for being burnt out on text/cdth but all your poly gangsey & co fics have given me so so so much joy (I reread that soulmate au every few months it makes me ACHE!!) so just know that if you Do finish your WIPs there are absolutely ppl out there who want to read them (hi. me) and even if u don't thank u for writing and sharing all that u have :)
this is very sweet thank you 🥺 lately it's felt like most of the people who engage with the fandom in a way i enjoy have begun to move on for the obvious reasons of, like, dreamer trilogy leaving people unsatisfied with the found family resolutions and polyamory and whatnot. and it's a little exhausting to be a content creator who cares mostly about hennessy when her relationship with ronan is constantly belittled or erased and fics centered ON her get barely any engagement unless i also tag pynch. so it's very nice to hear that there are still people who care and who would want to read more writing that builds on the dynamics in this series
there was a LOT i loved so so SO much about greywaren but there were also enough things that burnt me that i was like "you know what'll Never make me feel narratively betrayed tho?? the blorbos from my brain." and then i threw myself back into my original fiction project. if you see me tagging an unusual number of posts with devin ruby sol and/or nova when i'd usually tag them with fandom characters, that's why. they're living rent free in my noggin at the moment

The kink scenes are sooo hot! And ingenious!!! And actually really gentle and loving in this fic!!!This is the best trans!Ronan fic I have read so far in my short time in the fandom. I love the initial tension between Ronan and Adam and their adjustment to each other’s personalities. And I enjoyed how the depth of the Gangsey’s various friendships is explored and celebrated. This is set in NYC so Ronan’s family home is The Brownstone instead of The Barns and Chainsaw is his indoor pet chicken! (Idk I just love this detail. So creative to just not turn her into a basic black cat!)
Trans! (and sub) Ronan is getting back into the NYC queer BDSM scene after a long depression and being abused by ex-bf Kavinsky. He runs into Dom! (And lawyer) Adam at a play party and convinces Adam to take him home for a scene despite their initial bumbling meeting. Ronan struggles with setting boundaries and accepting aftercare after his toxic relationship with Kavinsky. This creates friction between him and new play partner Adam despite their obvious attraction to one another, but they continue on doing scenes together. Adam is very intentional in building kink scenes that both tailor to and also surprise Ronan.
With some help from his friends- Gansey and (enby) Noah and counselor (and psychic) Calla, Ronan gradually figures out he can trust Adam and he deserves to have both care and love from a partner.
Gradually, Ronan falls for Adam. They move from unbalanced play partners/fuck buddies to boyfriends. They also find out they both know historian and author Gansey and are actually in close connection to the rest of the Gangsey and the Fox Way crew. (Adam’s BFF is his serious ex Blue, her and Henry work at Henry’s coffee shop and both end up dating Gansey in an official poly triad. Adam was basically adopted by the Fox Way ladies who all are both psychics and counselors) Unfortunately, Kavinsky pops back to meddle in Ronan’s attempt to publish his first novel. Lawyer Adam helps Ronan in both expected and unexpected ways. There is a happy ending and the whole Gangsey goes on a road trip to Gansey family land upstate.
There is also a second companion work by the same name of deleted Adam POV scenes from this fic and scenes from a sequel fic interropunct never ended up publishing as a completed work. In the sequel scenes, Ronan decides he wants to have a baby after missing his doses of T for awhile. He does become pregnant and contends with being a dad carrying his baby. CW for the last sequel scene though where pregnant Ronan escalates a BDSM scene and Adam accidentally hits him in the stomach. Adam safewords and starts freaking out. Ronan has to call Blue to help calm Adam. It’s odd for aftercare avoidant Ronan to have to provide Adam with aftercare. That one was a little rough to read but it was still well written like the rest of the fic.
I highly recommend this if you are looking for an compelling TRC AU and are into BDSM ( or reading about it)

favorite character: Spencer Hastings!! Mona is a somewhat close second and I love all 6 of the main girls but Spencer is everything to me
least favorite character: Ezra Fitz. Byron Montgomery is in second place which makes sense as they are practically the same person 💀
brOTP: I’ll say Spanna even though I also like them romantically, and Spencer and Jason have a really interesting dynamic as siblings/foils that I appreciate a lot
OTP: Vandermarin and Spemily, Vandermarin’s probably #1 ultimately because they’re soo the canon love story of Pll… but Spemily is so underrated imo and it’s my favorite Spencer ship and Spencer’s my favorite character so that gives it something extra for me. 3rd place is Spencer x Mona
OT3: going to say Hanna/Mona/Alison is ultimately the most fascinating one to me in the narrative but I’m open to a lot of different poly combinations with this show
NOTP: I don’t like any of the main het pairings but especially not Ezria
favorite storyline: Spencer’s 3b arc and Spencer’s 4b arc I love when my fave is suffering and in a spiral it’s fascinating xd. 4b is probably my favorite section of the show period between the Spencer addiction plot (which definitely has it’s issues in the writing but Troian is just fantastic playing it), Shadow Play, the EzrA stuff and Aria’s processing which I find very engaging especially in She’s Come Undone, it’s also where Emily/Alison is most interesting to me because of the attention given to Emily processing her feelings (attention that it never given again after this :/) Hanna stepping into the role of detective more than Spencer and Spencer and Emily’s fights so a lot of interesting shifts in dynamics caused by them knowing Ali is alive now, Ali’s coded diary… I just love it in all it’s messiness xd.
least favorite storyline: Ezria and the deadnaming both were terrible. A lot of post time jump storylines
what I wish had happened but didn’t: Ezra going to jail, men being held accountable for literally anything, for the writers to care more or at all the last two seasons I think anything even slightly good that happens post time jump is thanks to the actors and not the writers and even most of them seemed tired
what happened that I wish hadn’t: Ezra/Aria endgame male chars being given unwarranted grace in general

favorite character: Aria Montgomery she has a slight edge over Spencer if we’re going with book versions of the chars specifically.
least favorite character: Wren since Ezra is less relevant in the books

least favorite character: I don’t really have one, I’ll say Kavinsky but mostly because he’s overrated/his stans are insufferable, while I’m reading he works fine within the story (this is the same way I feel about the Darkling actually)

OT3: there is a lot of poly shipping potential in this series… Blue x Gansey x Henry is practically canon and I love them but I also am very into Gansey x Blue x Noah and Adam x Gansey x Blue… and Ronan x Adam x Gansey is also good…
NOTP: Ronan x Kavinsky less because it’s toxic I’ve shipped worse more because again the fandom is annoying
favorite storyline: the entirety of Blue Lily Lily Blue there’s so much in that book I adore, Persephone mentoring Adam, Blue and Calla scenes and Blue’s internal conflict while her mother is missing, Gwenllian and her dynamic with Blue and learning more about mirror abilities/what Blue is, Adam’s character arc in that book in general, so many of my favorite Bluesey and Pynch scenes and Persephone’s death is a gut punch that really works and the title… I love it :).
least favorite storyline: the ending of TRK is kind of anticlimactic even though I still love it like the other books
what I wish had happened but didn’t: Blue’s arc to have better closure in book 4
what happened that I wish hadn’t: the whole Adam and Ronan being racist to Henry part :/

Holy shit! I actually finished and published something?? For The Raven Cycle fandom no less??? Hot damn!!! Based on this post by @if-you-cannot-be-unafraid <3
Noah opens his mouth to argue or defend himself, but he’s cut off by a pounding on the door. Both boys jump and look at each other, eyes wide and questioning. When the pounding starts again Ronan sets his mug down and gets up, setting his face into a scowl as he makes his way to the door.
“Can I hel-?” he starts to ask rudely, but the second he catches sight of who’s on their doorstep he stops short.
Kavinsky is slumped against the doorframe, and he’s always looked like a dumpster fire, but that’s nothing compared to how he looks right now. Where he was thin before, he’s skin and bones now. His nose is red, his eyes are bloodshot and sunken, the bags under them look like he hasn’t slept in weeks, his normally-styled hair flopping in his face. Across his wrists are two deep cuts, not bleeding but definitely not stitched, and not even old enough to be properly scabbed. He looks strung out and starving and under it all so fucking miserable it makes Ronan want to cry, but he’s still got that shit-eating grin stretched across his hollow face.
“Jesus Christ, K,” Ronan mutters, opening the door wider.
“Long time no see, faggot,” Joseph says and his words slur together.
