WARNING ⚠️ 🔞
VIEW AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION
On February 4th 2023, 60 year old Lisa Edwards was on a flight from Rhode Island to Knoxville when she began experiencing stomach pains. She had had a debilitating stroke in 2019, but had now mostly recovered and looked forward to moving to Knoxville.
After the flight, she was admitted to Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee just South of Knoxville. She was quickly treated and released.
But miss Edwards still felt unwell so she went instead to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville proper where she was admitted overnight for observations.
The next day, despite continued medical discomfort and against her will, Miss Edwards was discharged from Fort Sanders Medical Center.
But Miss Edwards refused to leave the Hospital, believing she was continuing to experience a medical emergency.
Hospital staff then chose to call Knoxville Police and requested her removal from Hospital grounds.
Police showed up and offered Miss Sanders an unpleasant ultimatum; leave the hospital or go to jail.
Miss Edwards refused to leave, choosing instead to stay where she felt safe: close to the doctors and nurses she felt she needed.
That's when Knoxville Police began abusing the 60 year old woman verbally and declared she was under arrest. They began forcing her into a police van she was unable to step into. They tried physically forcing her inside multiple times before deciding to put her in a police cruiser instead.
Throughout the experience, Miss Edwards repeatedly stated she was experiencing a medical emergency and even begged them not to let her die.
The officers, while assaulting her with abusive language, eventually physically forced Miss Edwards into the cruiser, clearly hurting her multiple times, and ignoring her constant medical complaints by declaring her "cleared" by hospital staff and to be "faking it".
Even throughout the car ride to the jail, despite Miss Edwards obvious physical and mental distress and her non-stop complaints that she was going to die, the officer driving the car continued with the verbal abuse even as she descended into unconsciousness. Clearly not taking the hint something was seriously wrong when Miss Edwards urinated herself in the cruiser, the officer instead takes the opportunity to abuse her for that as well.
Once she falls unconscious, the officer pulls over the vehicle and another officer opens up the back and screams at the unconscious woman to get up, and even grabs her roughly and forces her up where her head can be seen rolling around.
No human being should ever be treated as callously as this police force and hospital staff treated Lisa Edwards, let alone an old sick woman.
This is the most disgusting thing I've seen since the death of Eric Garner in Staten Island, who also begged officers not to kill him before they did.
The Capitalist For-Profit Healthcare system has reached all new lows here, as even a sickly old woman who recently had a stroke is ignored, discharged, and arrested when she refuses to leave a hospital while experiencing a medical emergency.
Do these people really think they can justify this behavior on the grounds of Medical fraud?
Maybe people wouldn't have to depend on Hospitals for board if there weren't armies of homeless people in every city.
But either case, the existence of medical fraud is no excuse for the way this woman was treated. Do her medical costs represent such a threat to the Hospital and Insurance company that suspicion of fraud is enough to deny her proper healthcare???
Apparently so in America.
As for the Police, they should be lynched in a public square or sent to the Gulags.

Genuinely don’t mean this as any sort of callout post but it’s interesting to me how there’s been a trend in newer (?) whump blogs putting really long disclaimers in their bios and pinned posts, saying that they don’t condone violence, that they aren’t responsible for other people’s actions, that they know it’s bad and it’s just fiction.
It’s honestly making me wonder how much purity culture has seeped into the fabric of even the Whump community, that people feel the need to explicitly state what I would have accepted as an easily presumed given. When did we get to a point where we have to preface any conversation by stating that we don’t condone irl violence, lest someone accuse us of immorality?

Hi!!! I love your blog so much, especially your weekly summaries-- they are just so helpful! I was wondering if you know of any Bls with the military/policemen/fire fighters? I know military service is mandatory in thailand and south korea so I was wondering if there were any Bls that have one the main characters in the military (or police, firefighters etc.) Thanks so so much!
Hi!!! Thank you!
BL BADGE BUNNIES ACTIVATED!
Sure thing. There are a few, not many. Countries with conscription policies (e.g. Korea & Thailand) usually have a defacto ban on realistic/non-positive representation of military service in their media. In other words, BL by its nature (gay in military) stays away from this setting.
BLs in uniform (featuring military/policemen/fire fighter romances)
Tumblr media
A Tale of Thousand Stars Thai 2021 YouTube (ranger) - With great casting and cinematography this drama nods at BL tropes but manages to elevate them (and itself) with a strong mature story concept about a spoiled rich kid who gets a heart transplant and becomes a teacher it order to pay out survivor’s guilt. On the way he falls in love with a local park ranger and contends with his own classism and escapist tendencies. Everyone seemed to perfectly suit their roles and GMMTV made the most out of its stable. Combined with excellent production (and post production) values, 1000 Stars is without question GMMTV’s most mature, charming, and smart BL series. I think it should go down as one of the top BLs of all time. I feel safe recommending this one to friends and non BL watchers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Tumblr media
HIStory 3: Trapped Taiwan 2019 Viki (cop) - Basically the definition of enemies to lovers from Lin Pei Yu. This is a cop + the mafia man he is chasing but WAIT, they fall in love. Added bonus side couple: assassin and nerd cop ALSO falling in love. It’s great. All the leads are stellar. Its high heat, fun action, and a bit of a mystery drama but pretty about all of it. My only warning is that the main couple doesn’t entirely end up together, it’s implied, but… amorphous ending. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Tumblr media
Your Name Engraved Herein Taiwan 2020 Netflix? (army, recent history) - This movie is fantastic but it is also seriously depressing, it’s a self acceptance journey, but if you wanna wallow in high quality acting and serious gay drama, this’ll do it. MIXED REC, NOT FOR SPECIFICALLY BL FANS
Tumblr media
S.C.I. AKA SCI Mysteries China/Hong Kong 2018 YouTube? (censored bromance, cops) - This is a police procedural with a censored main couple of police investigators who live together basically as husbands, it’s just not talked about. This is one of the first BLs I ever saw (I found their relationship very confusing). RECOMMENDED
Tumblr media
Guardian China 2018 grey (censored bromance, cop) - Episodic urban fantasy meets police procedural, one of the most epic long term pinings in the history of long term pinings. RECOMMENDED
Light Taiwan 2021 Gaga (cop) - Ironically titled movie about a street hustler (incest, rape, abuse survivor - all depicted on screen) who falls in (and in love with) an undercover cop. TRIGGERS
Shorts & Sides
Tumblr media
A First Love Story Korea 2021 YouTube & Gaga (military service) - Strongberry are true masters of their craft and yet A First Love Story is still one of the best things they have ever produced. It’s the only microfilm ever to make one of my year end top ten list. It’s two episodes of about 8 minutes each that manage to perfectly portray the sweetest friends-to-lovers confession ever. It’s joyful, and gentle with its characters, and a little hot. How on earth do they manage to leave us yearning for more yet completely satisfied at the same time? It’s like the perfect amuse-bouche, that one finger food at that one cocktail party that you will never forget. You are a ridiculous human if you haven’t spent 16 minutes with these two boys. Go watch it now. Or go watch it again. It’s time VERY well spent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Tumblr media
Just Friends? Korea 2009 Gaga (military service) - Boyfriends, one of whom is on military leave, trying to decide on coming out and the future. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
(also one of Korea's first BLs, they would NOT stick to this style, it's way more Taiwan feeling.)
The Immeasurable Taiwan 2021 Gaga (cop) - Police officer falls in love with a student who turns out to be an anti-establishment activist. MIXED REC
DanYok side couple in Not Me (cop)
I've left out bodyguards and historicals (or both).
I've left out the super dark, unhappy, violent, rapey, and pinks, because... I don't like 'em, and you asked me... so...
Now you know why the BL adaptation I want more than ANYTHING is Decedents of the Sun, soldier+healer but GAY? Come on, it writes itself!

People have talked about how the police waited around 40 minutes to go into the school, and when they did they just grabbed their own kids and got out. I haven’t seen anybody point out that they waited around 40 minutes to save their own children.
Some of those police had their own children attending that school and they waited outside for nearly an hour while their own children were in there with the shooter.
Correction: A full timeline has been released and they did “rescue” more kids... After the shooter died. So the word “rescue” is being used loosely here since they didn’t need to be rescued out of the school at that point.

heyyy what do think Miles' and Alex' relationship "status" currently is? Like I personally don't think they're together but can't deny their chemistry during their last tour and do kinda think things happened. Obviously we all know nothing, but I would love to hear your thoughts cause you always express them soooo well :D
this is So Old i tried to answer it like five times over the past few months and then i always got sidetracked i'm so sorry
(big disclaimer because of course we don't know anything about them and their private lives, as always this is just complete speculation!!)
anyways, i definitely think there was something in the past, but i don't think it ever evolved into an actual relationship as we traditionally intend it, not even at the height of the eycte tour. if there was indeed anything, it was probably a situationship/illicit affair where they started fucking (i really can't point out the exact moment because part of me says they crossed the line in 2016, but another part of me is convinced something happened even before that, maybe as far back as the recording of taotu). in both instances they came out of that period being Not Okay TM and like. being weird about each other and i think that's very telling
but regardless of when they actually started exploring each other's bodies i think in general there was always a latent attraction, both physical and emotional/romantic, going on between them from the very start. and what we saw in 2016 was the coronation of that, in a way. but again, i don't think it ever turned into an actual relationship, and i definitely don't think they're together now. does that mean they're over each other? absolutely not, in fact i think they never got over each other and doomed themselves to a life of longing for each other and occasionally falling back into the old habits (iykwim). i imagine it to be very difficult to get over someone when they also happen to be your best friend that you have history with + a bond that is, to put it simply, one of a kind.
will they ever fully commit to each other? i don't know, and i don't think that's the point either. i think the attraction between them - platonic, mental, emotional, romantic, sexual, you name it - is still very much there, and it goes so much beyond those categories, and that's what's so beautiful about their relationship <3

i absolutely love that william asks in a curious, if slightly accusatory, tone if the bridge in which fitch's fingers were had anything special about it; i wonder how smug he felt when that trigger happy idiot did as pigs do(as predicted) and disregarded zeke's leadership over the case, only to be met with the consequences of his lawless behavior.
fitch calls kraus, then o'brien right as william's approaching but pockets his phone without a mention of alerting zeke... oh, the motherfucking irony of going back to that same pettiness, to the cost of his own life now. can't imagine william's got any reserved mercy for the guy that got ezekiel banks seriously injured, sitting on his ass while he bled on the pavement; it's clear to see, the lasting effects it had on zeke's capacity for trusting and as much as it serves william very fucking well to meet his savior in his most desperate to finding someone he could finally rely on— there's no gratitude to be found(*scoffs*).
"Fitch, not backing you up... he won't repeat that mistake."
it won't be the sole reason for william's judgement, but an incentive that runs deeper, personal(and connects to a certain narrative i would elaborate more on if asked—). it'll taste sweeter, all that blood on the water.

A call for help
Late on the night of June 11, 2022, Christian Glass apparently got his car stuck on a rural road near Silver Plume.
When he phoned 911 from his cell phone asking for help, he sounded mentally unstable, paranoid and extremely scared. He told an operator his car was ensnared in a “trap” in a bush and he said he didn’t like the town he was in.
“I’m in a 2007 Honda Pilot. I will not be fine on my own,” he told an operator. “You’re sending someone right? You tracked my location? My car is stuck under a bush … I love you. You’re my light right now. I’m really scared. I’m sorry.”
A Boulder County resident, Glass was an amateur geologist and had some knives and a hammer in his car from a recent trip to Utah.
Glass, whose parents are from the United Kingdom and New Zealand, told the dispatcher he had what could be perceived as weapons in the car and he offered to throw them outside when officers arrived.
“I have two knives and a hammer and a rubber mallet,” he said, in a slight accent, to the emergency dispatcher. “I’m not dangerous. I’ll keep my hands completely visible. I understand this is a dodgy situation.”
The dispatcher relayed that information to deputies.
“I’m not having any luck clearing this party and he’s not making much sense,” the dispatcher told the deputies.
When they arrived on the scene, Glass again offered to throw the tools and knives out the window.
Deputies said they didn’t want him to throw the weapons out of the car and instead demanded that he get out of the car.
Glass told officers with his hands up that he didn’t feel safe getting out of the car. He took the keys out of the ignition and put them on the dashboard and told them he was scared and wanted to stay in the car. He wasn’t suspected of any crime.
“Please push me out, drag me out, I’ll follow you to a police station,” Glass told the officers. “I’m so scared.”
The deputy, whose name has not been released by authorities, yelled at Glass.
“You need to step out of the car now. Step out of the car,” he said. “That is a lawful order. Step out of the car now or you’ll be removed from the vehicle.”
Glass responded, “I’m so scared … You’re not communicating clearly with me. I don’t understand why I have to come out.”
….
Glass didn’t appear to be posing any threats — to himself or to others. He told officers he “smoked” but no one asked him anything else beyond that.
Throughout the confrontation, Glass remained in the car with the windows rolled up. He can be seen making a heart-shape with his hands at the officers.
“You have my name and phone number, right?” he asked them.
More officers arrived on the scene. At one point, officers from Clear Creek, Idaho Springs, Georgetown Police, Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Division of Gaming were on the scene.
“Come talk to us,” a female officer asked him. Glass put his hands into a heart sign in the car and then blew kisses at her. “Same back at you, but come out and talk to us,” she said.
That officer walked over to two other female officers and joked that they needed to send “cute girls” over there to talk to him.
‘No reason to contact him’
A supervisor at the Colorado State Patrol, at one point, radioed in that Glass hadn’t committed any crimes.
“Can you ask Clear Creek what their plan is? If there is no crime and he’s not suicidal or homicidal or a great danger, then there’s no reason to contact him,” a CSP sergeant says over the radio. “Is there a medical issue we’re not aware of?”
“No,” a patrol trooper responded back.
But the increasing number of officers on the scene remained there, engaged for almost an hour and 20 minutes, attempting to get Glass to come out of the car. At one point, a deputy climbed on to the hood of the car and shined a flashlight into his eyes and remained there, eventually drawing his gun and pointing down into the car at Glass.
Tumblr media
“We’re poppin’,” a deputy said as they attempted to break the car window. Glass picked up the knife.
“He’s got a knife in his hand!” another officer said. “Watch crossfire, watch crossfire."
Officers stepped back and drew their guns. They eventually broke the passenger window, and glass sprayed all over. Glass kept his grip on the small knife.
“You need to drop that knife!” officers shouted.
Glass’ head darted from left to right as officers got closer to him and began shooting bean bags in the car.
“Impact, impact, impact,” officers yelled, as the bean bags went in, appearing to break more of the car windows. Glass grew more agitated and moved his eyes and head back and forth. He started screaming.
Another deputy calls for someone to use a Taser on Glass.
The first officer on the scene deployed his yellow Taser gun and struck Glass. He started screaming again. Officers were on all sides of him at this point with flashlights beaming. A few seconds go by, and officers scream at him again to drop his knife.
“You can save yourself!” he yelled, his last words. “You can still save yourself! Lord hear me. Lord hear me.”
One deputy fired several rounds, striking him and killing him.
Scant information, no further comments
Glass’s parents are expected to speak Tuesday at their lawyer’s office in Denver. Glass was an avid tennis fan and player, a trained chef and a self-taught artist.
“These officers took a gentle, peaceful soul and extinguished it simply because it was ‘time to move the night on,’” lawyers Rathod and Mohamedbhai said, quoting some body worn camera video of the Georgetown Police Chief telling Glass that they didn’t want to stay there anymore. “From beginning to end, the officers on scene acted unconscionably and inhumanely. The Glass family agrees with Colorado State Patrol’s on-scene assessment that Christian had committed no crime, posed no threat to himself or others, and there was no reason for continued contact.”
