It took me two rewatches before I realized that in episode 1, Daemon asked for Alicent’s favor because he’s looking to piss off Otto Hightower. He picks Otto’s son to joust and fucks him up, then he asks for his daughter’s favor immediately after to prove to Otto that there’s nothing he can do about it.
