Okay I think what this season of dimension 20 is teaching me is that I really like little simulated battles and I should try and figure out what other installments in this medium lean hard on little simulated battles because apparently I have been feeling the lack and this was absolutely my favorite episode so far

Hey, your old bts posts reminded me - one of the actresses who played a pregnant lady in 1x07, Grasie Mercedes, has a podcast where oliver was a guest on it called "Not [blank] enough" and oliver's episode is "episode 12: not talented enough" (1 of 3 he's done available on spotify that I'm aware of). Not sure if you've listened or if most people new to the fandom are aware but it's definitely worth a listen (as is the one he did with national fire radio as he talks a lot about the show with real firefighters) 😊

It won’t matter what your setting is. You will sell that book because you will get to the editors and they will say, ‘They can do character so well, we can fix their plot problems, I can fix their setting problems. Teaching them to do character in a third person limited—essentially teaching them voice—’” Howard Taylor: “The problem is everyone wants to write Science Fiction because they love world building! Brandon Sanderson: “That’s true!” Howard Taylor: “So what you’re telling them is, ‘All right, your world building, that’s not going to get you the job. What’s going to get you the job is learning this bit we’re talking about right now.’” Brandon Sanderson: “Well…world building can get you the job. But this is the guarantee: If the editor opens that first page, and they read one page, which is so beautifully written in a viewpoint that they understand that character perfectly well with one page, they’re going to keep reading. They’re going to want to buy that book.”

After finally finishing Season two of Batman the Audio Adventures (Btaa), I implore you if you're looking for batman content to please take 30 to 40 minutes of your time to absorb the world of a mid 1900's batman world. All of the characters are in depth and feel like real people, the podcast makes you feel like you've fallen down a rabbit hole and woken up on a cracked cement gotham sidewalk. The villains are wacky and human, voiced by outstanding VAs. PLLEAAAAAAASE listen to batman the audio adventures. especially if you're a fan of both Batman and Welcome to Nightvale

likely this means nothing to anyone except maybe two people but the noise ART's medsystem makes (in the new graphic audio adaption of artificial condition) when secunit sits up after their diy bestie surgery times is the exact same sound effect used when you clear a line in petroglyph punch in the classic Nancy drew point and click game curse of blackmoor manor.

#Also the same noise the card readers make in the haunted carousel!#it's an interest of mine now to see what sound effects get reused in different media. my half finished videogame project involved a lot of #soundscaping. Which meant lots of trawling through open-source sound effect databases #really makes you think about where the sounds come from! Who got what from where and what the overlap is #especially with smaller projects #also how the sound is used. Graphic audio is very high quality sound design from a recording/technical standpoint #but is almost tell don't show #Y'know “I walked there” *loud walking noises*#It a the interpretive dance of sound design. Well done technically. But a little intrusive after all the indie podcasts (wolf 359) that are #so smooth with the sound design implementation #anyway rambling #the murderbot diaries #nancy drew

it sounds so good and clear!! may I ask what brand mic you bought? I've been meaning to upgrade myself :Oc

slides in here answering a million years late I have the SM7B! It's a pricy mic, is super gain hungry (so I bought a booster for it lol) plus I purchased a nice arm, so honestly there are prolly way better options to choose from if you're doing streaming/casual stuff online. I chose it because I'm next to a furnace room + fridge + my brother's pc in an untreated room so the fact this microphone is super unsensitive really works for me c: From the very few YouTube video's I've watched I heard the SM57 can get you a similar sound without the massive costs of setting the SM7B up c:!! There are also pretty good USB mics nowadays that can get u a decent sound if you're just doing casual stuff!!

#dont' quote me i know next to nothing about microphones + audio and am learning LOL #also the SM7B is really popular with streamers + podcasters but be careful when buying into hype #i wanted to splurge on a nice mic bc i want to make videos and recording in my room is pretty impossible #but im sure there are other methods of getting good quality on a less expensive mic #im just a lil lazy :P #good luck!!#mimi talks
