Somethin' I'm Good At - Alec Hardison
Watch it on Youtube
Oh my gosh it's finally done!! I've been obsessing over this video for a few days now and ahhh I'm so excited that it's finished and I can share it with people!!
And of course I know Hardison is insanely competent at anything and everything, but this song just fit his personality so perfectly, I had to make the video! No insult towards him, just a fun and silly video that I can't stop dancing along with. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Leverage- Family Dynamics
Ugh, I'll most definitely write a bigger post about this, but don't you just love the character dynamic in Leverage and Leverage: Redemption? I'm rewatching the whole franchise and notice how over the course of the series the team just get so comfortable with Elliot, that they are absolutely not afraid of him. They know that he will never hurt them and that his gruff persona just hides a giant teddy bear inside.
Like The French Connection Job in season 5:
Elliot is like "I will stabb you in the neck" and Hardison just like "Yeah, yeah okay, but look at this cool laser and levitating food!" There is no way he would be like that in the first season LOL.
And in Leverage Redemption (I believe in The Date Night Job) when Breanna asked Eliot to cook for her and her significant other (he also made a meal for Hardison and you-know-who-because-no-major-spoilers for their date, thats just so cute) and gives him a lot of requirements, he casually throws the cooking knife into a pillar next to her. She doesn't even flinch and cassually walks off LMAO. I find it so sweet, because the team's trust in him is so absolute and they know that he will never hurt one of them and he will never endanger them, so Breanna is not even worried that the knife was flying anywhere but the pillar and that it would ever fly anywhere near her with an intent to hurt her.... And that is only just the trust that they have after working together for a bit, and her listening to Hardiso discussing his friendship with Elliot.
THEY LET ELLIOT COOK FOR THEM, BECAUSE THEY KNOW IT'S HIS PASSION AND THEY LOVE HIS COOKING!!!!!
I can't, this show always makes me fell warm and fuzzy inside. This is a team of lone wolves which becomes a found family over the course of the 5 seasons of Leverage and you are there for the ride all the way!
THEY ARE A FAMILY YOUR HONOUR!!!!!
(BTW if you havent watched these two shows, I highly recommend you to! It has everything you need for a good show- comedy, drama, action, suspense, found family, and superb characters with character developmen)

Honestly? I think Aisha had a crush on Taylor, and it makes her character so much more fun too. Her first meeting she gets to tease her a bunch and then the next time they meet she sees that Taylor is incredibly brutal and idk. I think she's weird enough that that would make a spark for her. Obviously Taylor barely noticed Aisha, and ends up dating her brother, so I think this crush withered a bit and likely made her kinda bitter as a whole, in large part because Aisha hurts a lot when people she wants to notice her don't. She thinks she's over it when Taylor leaves, she's been hurt enough already, and then Taylor comes back and oh no she is not over it at all and so she flirts with her a few times through Gold Morning, and she has an actual emotional moment with Taylor where she tells her it's ok to feel things, and she gave up on the crush but maybe she can still be important enough for Taylor to notice and not dismiss.
And then Taylor is barely Taylor, and Aisha is following her through portal after portal, watching as the fun-to-tease dumbass that made her heart flutter becomes more and more unhinged. Taylor is unraveling at the seams, and she's doing it all alone, even surrounded by thousands of capes for her army she's so alone. Except for Aisha. Taylor doesn't even know Aisha is there, she's never noticed her anyway, but she's alone and she's breaking down and she's still the woman Alec teased her about liking all those years ago. So Aisha does all she can to soothe her even as she stops being her, she sings soothing melodies, fixes Taylor's hair, gently rubs her back. So many things Taylor would never let happen, but that she needs to have. And then the golden man dies, and everyone is surrounding Taylor and wondering what to do with her, and she's going to attack them, and Aisha finally lets her power down and Taylor notices her for once. The joy from that hardly makes up for having her free will stolen and a knife put in her mouth as a threat, and if Aisha could move she'd let out a bitter laugh about how fitting it is that this was the time Taylor noticed her.
And then Taylor is gone. She's not coming back this time. And despite Aisha's best efforts, she can't quite move on from the crush just like she can't move on from Alec's friendship. So she does what she wishes people would do for her, she makes sure Taylor is remembered. She confronts Shadow Stalker and lets her know just how much Taylor mattered, because all those people afraid of Khepri and wanting to forget her didn't see her as tears streamed down her face and blood dried on her skin and her posture slumped like a corpse. They didn't see how human she was, how much she sacrificed. But Aisha did. Aisha saw the girl that she had fun teasing in the apartment slowly disappear. She saw someone so determined that they left their mind behind for the greater good. She saw Taylor at her lowest, and she was the only one who really saw her. She'll never get over seeing the hollow shell of Taylor Hebert breaking down as she sings to her, she'll never forget her. So she has to make sure other people don't forget her. It's her love language, and sometimes it feels like no one else speaks it.

My headcanon:
Hardison and Parker are the only two that are allowed in Eliot's personal space unannounced.
He has to see Breanna and Harry coming- because if he doesn't- on instinct he might hurt them.
Sophie and Nate can be in his personal space- on a good day.
But Hardison and Parker?
They're allowed.
Parker can throw things at Eli any time she wants to. She can run her hands through his hair and steal his sweatshirts, shirts, and even flannels. Sometimes- Eli and Hardison catch her wearing his beanies. And she's always welcomed in his home. Day or night and he's never surprised seeing her there. (Sometimes when Eli brings a girl over- and he walks into his apartment and she's on his couch- he kicks the girl out.) Parker is more important than a one night stand. In the morning- Eliot has her favorites on the bar waiting for her. Eliot kisses' Parker's forehead or temple sometimes.
(Hardison isn't jealous of their friendship. Eliot is the only person he truly trusts with Parker.)
Hardison is one of two people who can take food off Eli's plate or fridge. (Parker is the second one. Duh!) He's also the only one that Eliot can sit and listen talk geek speak- if anybody else does it, Eli growls at them to shut up. He is also allowed in Eliot's apartment unannounced. Usually he comes with a movie and they have a guy's night. (Eventually Parker shows up and they end up snuggled on his couch.)

Ok, I've only just watched Broadchurch and haven't even finished it yet but I said this from the first episode.
Ellie and Alec's relationship. It is very divided, a lot of people ship them, then again a lot of people don't.
But this is my theory: Since the first episode, when they started working together, you could see they don't stand eachother but at the same time get along great, but never would either think to admit it. A sassy duo, inseparable but can't stand eachother. Always fighting and throwing around pointed spiky comments. But you see how much they actually care for eachother.
Especially in the last episode of season 1, when he directed the phone signals to his mobile. Ellie just thought he was being a dick, like he always is, and I missed it at first too... But he directed the signals to his phone because he already had a suspicion who it was, he was quite certain and he wanted to be the one to tell her.
In season 2 as well, he tries to warm up for her.
When he offers her a hug, Alec is not a huggy person, we all know that, he will go out of his comfort zone for her.
But Ellie said no and it made him more cautious I find. In several scenes you can see the look he gives her. You can see it makes him unhappy to see her sad, but all he does is ask if she's ok and nothing more because she rejected him last time and doesn't want to make it awkward again.
Ok but I just want to say, I don't ship them too hard, romantically. They are best friends, Ellie's a person he trusts completely, someone who shows some fondness and affection for him. And she's grateful for him being there, especially during the trial in season 2, when Beth, who she would have usually talked to, turned on her, she had someone to talk to -(who wouldn't always listen and be a bit of an arsehole but generally, he was halfway understanding).
And aaaaaaarrrrrggh, the last episode of season 2. I think we can all agree here the "I'm not hugging you" hit hard. You could see he wanted a little bit more, maybe...? We all know our man Hardy is awkwardly affectionate, it's not exactly his strong point now, is it? But y'know, if he's leaving Broadchurch, maybe never to return (we know that he does, or at least they meet again. There wouldn't be a season 3 otherwise but we're thinking in-character here) he might want something more because she does mean more to him. She helped him find himself again, showed him some affection or fondness when he needed it most and nobody else would. She helped him back onto the path when he was alone aimlessly wandering through the foggy woods.
And when Ellie said: "Don't be kind to me, that's not how it works." That was cute how she didn't want to leave yet, wanted to wait for the taxi. Yes, that is what friends do. But my theory (could be just a hope cuz I ship them a bit and they need to be fucking fluffy or I will not survive) at the moment is: Ellie is used to him being an arse and she won't admit it, at least not to him but she will miss him. And I think she doesn't want him to be nice because she's trying not to show how much it means to her. Cuz that's I dunno, how them two are. Slightly confused, huh? Oh ye, can say that again. But he has been nice to her in subtle ways that she hasn't noticed and vice versa.
I'm sorry to all the non-shippers but I do think there have maybe been a few sparks between them. You can't deny it.
Alec is touchstarved. He loved Tess you could see that. They still care for eachother and he wanted to go back and tried to fix it. Stitch it up because he wanted someone to love and someone to love him. He fell for Tess and was happy falling. Would've loved to fall forever. But Sandbrook brought by some turbulence on the way. And it was like Tess smashed the ground into him. It came too soon. He wasn't looking. He wasn't expecting it. And it left a bloody mess on the floor and a broken man recovering from it.
But this accident leaves him scarred and he's scared of falling again. He is literally dying of a broken heart.
But I see him wandering towards the edge for Ellie. He's close, I think. But not wanting to, not letting himself make the same mistake again.
I see them as being fluffily awkward and sassy to eachother. But maybe - just maybe - in one scene where Alec says: Oh, Miller, I could kiss you. Yes. I admit, I was hoping for something.
They would kiss like once or twice but find it fucking awkward and never do it again.
As in besties but a slight bit more? But not too romantic?
I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I would describe their relationship.
My sister and I have come up with a simple way to put it: platonic romantic.

At least for the aspec part of the leverage fandom, I’m guessing it’s the heavy themes of found family between the entire crew and the queer platonic vibes of the OT3
yeah. yeah. oh man. like we have a story that prioritises relationships that aren't shown to us as romantic just as highly as the relationships that are, and we have parker who regardless of how you interpret her can be read as a-spec and loved and supported by the people around her and that's great, and we have a happy ending that says "actually, our tough guy (who doesn't seem to settle down with anyone romantically, though we see him date) would be most fulfilled with hardison and with parker, with no explicit romance, but with a lifelong promise of mutual devotion."
(it's a very important thing to me that the story works like that, with parker+eliot+hardison being totally platonic. I love other readings. I do. but what we were given, viewed through the least shippy goggles available, works. and it packs a hell of a punch.)
and listen, I've said it before but "my nana used to say that what's normal is whatever works for you" is such a beautiful sentiment to be applied to SO many things (gender, neurodiversity, queerness, polyamory, queerplatonic relationships, choosing a life of crime instead of a 'proper' career, etc), and it is lovely.
which is to say… yeah. agreed. it's great. and it does make sense. :D

All things considered I'm thinking about platonic yanderes.
Maybe a platonic Alec who manages to find a way for Ryder reader and him to both survive because no way he is leaving his precious child alone with responsibility of being a pathfinder. Maybe that's the reason he was training Cora to be the next pathfinder, he wanted to keep you under his wing and enjoy his remaining time with his two kids without responsibility stealing you away.
So instead of you becoming the pathfinder, the game progresses with him as the captian instead. He unofficially gives Cora the remaining responsibilities to handle so he may have time to spend with you. It's almost suffocating how protective he is of you, both during missions where he commands you to stay close by if you happen to stray, scarfices any healing kits he finds on your small papercut while ignoring his bigger injuries, makes sure to kill the enemies before you get a chance to finish reloading your gun.
Or platonic yan Anderson, who slowly starts seeing Shepard reader as his actual child. Who agrees to leave the councillor position and joins you back on the Normandy during the second game.
It's just like old times where you used to be his XO and stood nearby eagerly awaiting his orders, except this time It's you wearing the captian's hat and somehow he couldn't be more proud of you. He's there for you after each mission, comforting you as best he could as both your captian and father figure.
The only one to understand how hard it must be to wake from the dead 2 years ahead. how everyone is being unfair to you. It's alright, your captain is here, and just like always you can depend on him for wisdom and words of encouragement. Especially after Horizon, he comes to share a drink with you and lends you his shoulder to vent on. Tells you that you don't have to be the strong titanium Shepard around him, that he'll never hold your weakness against you.
That you'll always be that adorable eager XO in his eyes. He feels responsible for you, a part of him is anguished in guilt as if it was his responsibility that you died two years ago. That's why he vows not to abandon you again, to be besides you in every step of the way as a mentor and a friend.

Alec’s breathing had slowed. “I know,” he said. “I’m not jealous. I always knew, from the first, that everyone thought you were better than me. My dad thought it. The Clave thought it. Izzy and Max looked up to you as the great warrior they wanted to be like. But the day you asked me to be your parabatai, I knew you meant that you trusted me enough to ask me to help you. You were telling me that you weren’t the lone and self-sufficient warrior able to do everything alone. You needed me. So I realized that there was one person who didn’t assume you were better than me. You.” “There all sorts of ways of being better,” Jace said. “I knew that even then. I might be physically stronger, but you have the truest heart of anyone I’ve ever known, and the strongest faith in other people, and in that way you are better than I could ever hope to be.”
City of Heavenly Fire
Jace was on his feet before she finished speaking. “I nominate Alec Lightwood.” The Blackthorns clapped fiercely. Alec looked stunned and touched. Clary cheered, and the cheer spread—many in the room waved their hands in support, and Emma’s heart swelled. Jace could have reached out for the position of Consul had he wanted; he and Clary were beloved; either would win handily. But he had put Alec forward for it, because it was what Alec wanted—and because Jace knew Alec was the right choice.
Queen of Air and Darkness
Jace and Alec's parabatai bond and love may not be as obvious as Will and Jem's, but it is definitely as strong - just showed in a different way.
