This was the last exercise of the 90 minutes I spent at gymnastics. With my outdoor fitness exercises it is important to be aware I make up these exercises as I go along and I am very aware of my own strengths and weaknesses. For example, this evening at gymnastics I was aware my core for doing certain core bar work I had more fatigue than I thought so I focused on finger strengthening exercises on the gymrings. It is very important to remember I am not a professional or do I have any qualifications as of now although my future intention is to become a qualified PT and Fitness Instructor and then I will be insured to give advice. It's #WorkoutSaturday ๐๐๐๐๐ One great exercise to do even as a beginner is the Plank. The Plank works on all the major muscles groups - core, biceps, triceps... building strength, toning the muscles and it takes only a few minutes of your time. How to do a Plank 1. Get into pushup position on the floor. 2. Now bend your elbows 90 degrees and rest your weight on your forearms. 3. Keep your torso straight and rigid and your body in a straight line from ears to toes with no sagging or bending. 4. Your head is relaxed and you should be looking at the floor. 5. Hold the position for as long as you can. 6. Remember to breathe. Inhale and exhale slowly and steadily. 7. When your form begins to suffer, pull the plug. Youโre only benefiting from the plank by actually doing the plank. Doing planks is a type of exercise that allow you to build muscle while also making sure that you are not putting too much pressure on your spine or hips. It is also a great way to track strength and endurance progress because you learn to hold the position for longer the more you do it. Would you do a plank today?
