i lowkey forget that percy's full name is perseus. and like. that name goes so hard. because it just sounds like this mf could kick your ass. like imagine you're a junior in high school and your teacher introduces a new student by the name of 'perseus jackson'. and before you even raise your head to look at the guy. you just know this mf could clock you.

I’m actually LOVING how Rick Riordan, and the other writers of the show, took his initial concept of a Percabeth rivalry fueled by that of their parents and kind of turned it on its head?
Now, instead of Annabeth being wary of Percy because he’s a son of Poseidon, he’s wary of her because she made a callous impression on him. They get off to a rocky start even before finding out who Percy’s father is, and when they finally do, Annabeth doesn’t care. Instead of them fighting because of who their parents are, they’re fighting over their own opposed worldviews.
Then, instead of them arguing over which of the gods is cooler and who was right in the story of Medusa, they realize that, just like Medusa, Annabeth is a victim of her mother and that, unlike Medusa, she is a far kinder and stronger person, unwilling to repeat the cycle of hurt. They realize that, like his father, Percy often acts without considering potential consequences and that, unlike his father, he is a far kinder and stronger person, willing to step up for someone he wronged and whom he cares about.
Instead of Percy and Annabeth’s rivalry being focused on that of their parents, it’s focused on who they are, themselves. But the path to friendship is still the same: a realization that they have each other’s backs, no matter what, because they’re not their parents after all.

Nico referring to his mom as "Mama" implies he most likely at least used to refer to Hades as "Papa" and i 100% headcanon he still does but mostly in the manner of him having the entire Underworld wrapped around his finger for being the baby of the family

I like to think that pre-Oracle Rachel painted scenes from both wars, but she and Percy have no idea until they go back and reflect.
Percy notices, cause Rachel shows him her art, but he just rights it off as weird, even tho something doesn’t feel right.
Like, that’s DEFINITELY a replica Achilles mourning Patroclus. Only it’s two girls, one with flowing hair and a melted face, the other kneeling over her friend, face stricken with grief. He thinks her eyes look familiar. An immortal stands over them. Although they remind more of Ares and less of Thetis.
She has another painting that reminds Percy of a story from the Gigantomachy. Hera cowers under Porphyrion, about to be attacked. Only instead of Zeus and Heracles coming to her aid, it’s a guy with blond hair. His armor and sword is distinctively NOT Greek, but he opts to not comment on it. Rachel did a good job.
There’s more in her little studio, they both dismiss them as dreams. They make Rachel uncomfortable and Percy feels bile rise the more he looks.
He doesn’t realize until months later. It hits him while on the Argo. Him, Jason, Clarisse. THEY were the heroes in those paintings. Jason was the one coming to Hera’s aid. Clarisse was mourning Selina. He was fighting giants.
It all clicked into place, and he tried to remember what else her paintings for-told.

luke castellan who’s normally pretty docile in camp (at least when all the other campers and counselors are around) but it’s when you happen to spot his pretty face easily in a crowd, noticing that stupid shit eating grin that’s only ever worn when you’re below him, crying from the relentless overstimulation, that you can feel your knees buckle, and maybe even a slight tensing of the muscles in your thighs. to you, it’s almost concerning how easily he can make your stomach do flips and have your thoughts consist of him and only him while you’re supposed to be helping the younger campers string their camp beads.
the very same concern wasn’t anywhere to be found when luke had you under him later that night. perhaps it drifted through the cracked-open window along with the rest of your thoughts, and the muggy air that inhabited the hermes cabin. no way in hell was there anything behind your eyes as luke dumbed you down. he made sure of it by letting his hips set their own pace. one that abused your inner walls and left arousal seeping out from under his dick, only to get fucked back in once he picked your thighs up and brought you even closer. luke hadn’t particularly explored the asphyxiation fetish you casually described while innocently picking strawberries one day, but what better moment to test the waters than right now?
seeing a large, veiny hand wrapped around your throat was definitely his thing. he was sure of this by the way you seemed to come undone from his added touch. and to luke, overstimulation was no excuse to stop pounding away at your weepy cunt.

i think my philosophy on adaptations is different from most people's tbh. if i have to see one more take that's like "if you wanted the same story just read the book" i stg.... if they wanted to write a different story why did they choose to adapt a beloved book? like yeah i did want the same story lol my bad for assuming a "faithful adaptation" would be the same story??

say what you want but annabeth is 100% the big spoon. and it definitely stems from the fact that everything she loves seems to leave her in some way. at least it feels like that for a long time. but cradling percy reassures her that's he's here and here to stay.

Thinking about how Percy is trying not to be 'special' from the beginning. Thinking about how out of place he feels. Thinking about Luke telling him, when he first arrives at camp half-blood, that this is the one place where, for the first time, he's just like everyone else. Thinking about Percy's prayer to his mom, how he talks about finding belonging and real friends.
Then thinking about Percy entering the Poseidon cabin for the first time, and Chiron's voice-over telling him that as a forbidden child, he is singular, even amongst demi-gods. Alone, again.

Jason: See, I’m straight but like if there was a man that I would marry, it would be Leo
Piper: How do you feel about that, Leo?
Leo: …It’s not helping with the rumours
Piper: I think the kiss you guys shared on my birthday isn’t helping with the rumours
Jason: Yeah, I just hate that you didn’t give me enough tongue.

percy jackson x gn!reader
summary: you convince percy to skip his class to lay in bed with you
wc: 176
On a chilly winter morning, you wake up to the sound of clothes ruffling and Percy's hushed ramblings about how he's never on time and he should just drop out of school. You let out a tired giggle at the last part of his rant, catching his attention. He smiles over at you and you think that one day you'll actually melt at the sight.
"Mornin', baby. You're so lucky you don't have class today," he complains.
You flash him a grin. "Lay back down with me, Perce. You're already late, might as well skip. Plus, 'm gonna miss you if you leave," you whine.
He pretends to weigh his options before ultimately giving up on getting dressed and flopping down onto the bed, his muscular arms immediately finding their places on either side of your waist.
He makes a content sound and snuggles his head into your neck, tightening his arms around you and closes his eyes.
"You're right. This is way better than going to a class I was already late for," he admits.
