For all intents, I did the hell heist as the last-last quest before the finale (So as to be fully prepared and supportive "finishing" babe's personal quest)
AND BECAUSE OF THIS, I was tired. Greygold was tired. I was ready to beat the game. I was rushing. STEALING FROM RAPHAEL WAS STRESSING ME OUT. and I dared not go back. So even though Greygold did not want to go through with Haarlep's "game", I couldn't have picked a worse time to forget about their "always another way" philosophy
Poor Half-orc was so determined not to fail Lae'zel's personal quest that, for once, ignored companion disapproval. And apparently, with Lae'zel not disapproving nakey Greygy, it looked like Babe was willing to retrieve that hammer no matter the cost either! Until Haarlep said they wanted nakey Greygy to play a "game" with them.
Babe disapproved that time. Babe, who's been cranky all this time, thought not even this way was worth getting the hammer for. Babe still cared about what happened to Greygold.
So by the gods, I happily reloaded and thankfully found a different way, HUAH. Thank you, Babe. Found out later that apparently going the Haarlep way would've suuuuucked. Saved by the babe.
Thus I concluded why Babe was so cranky and can't kiss to save her life (I'm looking at you patch 6). And why Greygold's never had another hrm- pleasant conversation with Emps since the last time.
Poor sleep-deprived Lae'zel was bugged as hell killer coconut not because she was mad at Greyg, but because she'd been burning through all of her energy and affection by trying to protect Greygold from any further illithidry influence.

random thought but i was thinking of tara's comments about getting gale to eat and take care of himself and . well. i was just kind of warmed by the idea of gale and astarion having a particular... dehydrated and perhaps slightly unwell sickly look to them that is only exacerbated by their arduous journey, but then six months after that nightmare when they return to withers' party as husbands they look so much healthier!! they're softer and stronger and well-fed!! they actually look alive! and happy! because they are! and isn't that so wonderful!!

I just started watching Rizzoli and Isles yesterday and I was thinking that it seemed kinda gay. Initially I was like I’m bisexual and it’s wishful thinking. HOWEVER, I’m at home this weekend and my Mormon mom was also watching and like ten minutes into the first episode she asked me if Rizzoli and Isles were dating. This show queerbaited so hard that my Mormon mom took one look at them and went they’re definitely gay.
Don’t let anyone gaslight you, this show is very gay and even my very religious mother thinks that Rizzoli and Isles have sexual tension.

The girlboss mockery (irl and in fiction) of the past few years, the rise of trad-caths/tiktok tradwives, the way it’s become supposedly progressive to make “white women” a bogeyman, along with the rise of ironic post-left misogyny have combined to create an environment where openly hating women is permissible, not to mention whacking the label “empowering” on any old random regressive decision and suddenly it’s somehow great for women. You can get away with the most vile and repugnant misogyny as long as you preface it with “girlboss”.
Genuinely we're living through one of the worst "feminist" waves in history. The most vile, violent misogynistic takes become acceptable as long as someone prefaces them with [insert faux-feminist take]. "Girlboss" is just one of the many, many covers people use to disguise their misogyny. We get viral misogynistic posts across all social media platforms daily. People have been able to build entire social platforms from their misogyny. It feels like these last few years have been a steep slide back into the 18th century with some of the takes I see from people. And what's even worse is that a lot of it is coming from other women! The whole trend of "tradwives" on TikTok, like you mentioned, makes me feel crazy whenever I see it. They genuinely want women to be "back in the kitchen" and fully dependent on men, as though that hasn't historically been a circumstance to further abuse women. The support for abusive men and the shaming of women also seems to be at an all-time high.
And it's not just talk; women's rights have been directly impacted by this entire shift in the perception and treatment of women. Sorry, but this kind of behavior is never inconsequential no matter how seemingly small, and being misogynistic for any reason is harmful. It's alarming how comfortable people have become with it.

People who side with Triton and criticize Ariel for rebelling against him miss the whole point of the story. I don't know what it is about Ariel in particular that many people online look for every reason to hate on her and justify everything that happened to her.

it's funny when people are trying to put pete down by insulting his bass skills or whatever and they're like "he didn't even write fob's most iconic bassline!!!" (which I'm assuming is dance dance ig idk) and it's like. buddy, pal, friendofmine. sibling dearest. I'll do you one better: I can't name a bassline he has written.
great news! it doesn't matter. I'm not suggesting he's a good bassist either, because I've never really seen anything that really supports that idea. but he's not in the band to be the world's best bass player. it's a means to an end. he's a fantastic lyricist, he's a good frontman, and the three other members of fob wouldn't want to be in the band without him. I think that's all you could ever truly ask of him. nice try though

a lot of people seem to use Entry #60 as 'proof' for the crux of the "Brian didn't care about Tim, he was Taking Advantage of Tim's conditions and Forcing him to work as part of totheark" thing, but honestly when you think about it there's no possible way Brian could have possibly orchestrated that series of events, like you almost have to interpret that as a baffling group of coincidences

Brian does steal Tim's meds & that's a dick move but it's almost safe to assume#that Tim and Brian had been sharing prescriptions back in S1 - that's why the pills were at Brian's house that time Jay broke in#even if Tim no longer remembers that agreement it's not like Brian is brimming with other options so i can see the throughline of it#but there's NO way that Brian knew that 1) Tim was going to immediately turn around and come back home OR#2) be in the throes of an attack when he did so ; there's no Possible way he planned for that -- even if you Could assume that like. what#Brian 'knows' the operator is following him & Somehow orchestrated an encounter 1) no that doesn't make any sense and#2) that Still doesn't make any sense bc Tim has been Plenty Close to the Operator before w/ almost no negative effects (like in#Entry 17 when it's Right behind him) so there's no possible way Brian could have predicted that would unfold this way#sure it's weird he sets up the camera in the closet before Tim comes back but that Could Have been something unrelated#after all sometimes Brian DOES deliberately put himself on camera so someone knows he's responsible for something#or maybe he even planned to leave the camera there for later but it doesn't make Sense to interpret that as him Knowing what would happen#like don't get me wrong i'm not trying to say Brian is a pinnacle of ethics and moral behavior lmfao but also it's like#a kind of incomprehensible argument to make that he was Responsible for Triggering Tim's seizure that night when for all the#information Brian had on hand when he broke in he'd think Tim probably wouldn't be back home until much later#(''but the Creators Clearly intended'' yeah sure but since the creators also failed to establish a coherent series of events that SHOW#it then like. the intent doesn't matter anymore; sure they scripted the events in close succession but that doesn't mean they#scripted Intent & if they meant to then they did a bad job portraying it to the point the supposed intent is meaningless sorry lmao)#and EVEN IF you get this far and you're Still like 'but tim went after Jay and Brian would've Known he'd do that' like. no he wouldn't#because in Entry 18 when we see Tim have a seizure the first thing he does when jay approaches him after it is Run Away#so Again there's no consistent throughline of behaviors that Brian could have Possibly known about to orchestrate jack shit

I have been trying for days to find a topic for the "paper" I need to turn in for this Philosophy of History course on Friday, and I got nothing.
I so intensely dislike this subject you cannot imagine.
#This is the main reason I didn't take it the first time around#because they told me back then it wasn't required#and I had no interest in it#unlike most other branches of philosophy#it's constituted mostly by Prussian Philosophers#writing theories about history where of course Prussia is the pinnacle of humankind#theories that have the randomness of Tumblr shitposts without any of the fun#You open JSTOR and won't be able to find more than a couple dozen papers on the subject itself#and how could you#It's a discipline that has like 2-3 possible questions tops#is history linear or cyclical or something else#Does History have a purpose (so is there a providence) or not?#And that's pretty much it#By the point you are asking the question about the subjectivity of historical narratives you are talking about hermeneutics#and therefore philosophy of language and the mind#My frustration is not helped by the fact that the professor herself has taught very little#most of the classes have been presentations by freshmen classmates whose interpretations are understandably very basic and tentative#so the fact that she's asking for this without specific guidances is adding insult to injury#but wait there's more!#she intends the papers to be read collectively and peer discussed and evaluated#grrrr#Anyways if you need me I'll be on the pit of despair

I know the dominoes scene is one of the most cinematically incredible pieces of film that has ever existed, but also, on a narrative level, it also makes me fully fucking feral.
