Way back after ep 3, I wondered if this gesture (or the number 5, which is what it represents in the alternate universe) would come back again in the series...

At the time @dearestheart pointed out that it was potentially a hint at the coming promise within that episode that Puen would make with the Friend Credits group and with Talay. At the end of the ep, Talay and Puen make a pinky promise...and I therefore thought the show had neatly contained the motif to this one ep.

But then we get to ep 11 and this wonderful detail which some other lovely people pointed out (@hiskinndbodyguard, @stormyoceans). Ep 11 shows a flashback to the beach scene in ep 9 where Puen and Talay promise to find each other when they get back to their original universe (this particular part of the dialogue wasn't shown in ep 9):

And then Talay falls asleep - and wakes up - in the same hand gesture from this promise and from the wooden hand all the way back in ep 3:

It both went full circle within ep 3 and within the series as a whole.

And it's interesting that it was these two episodes - Soft Blush and Real Red - that the former is a lighter version of the latter. And that Soft Blush was where Puen and Talay first established a closer connection, and Real Red was where they had a deeper relationship but were separated and had to find a way to reconnect.

Ah, the details.

aaron’s zodiac chart

aaron headcanon zodiac chart time <3 it feels weird not to put a big intro paragraph here but i don’t have much to say other than i love aaron. without further ado (character analysis and astrology ramblings under cut)

sun- virgo

moon- capricorn

rising- gemini

mercury- leo

venus- virgo

mars- aries

feels a bit derivative to say one of the office bfs is an earth sign but here we are lmao i chose virgo for a few different reasons, but first and foremost i get the slightest bit of leo energy from aaron. not anywhere super major, but definitely in there. and because virgo is next to leo, virgos are statistically more likely to have leo placements and i really wanted him to have a leo mercury. virgo suns are very much known to be perfectionists. they are practical and responsible and also tend to lay low in life. they dont like the spotlight. they’re quick thinkers and usually very bright. out of all the mutable signs (virgo, pisces, gemini, sagittarius), virgo seems like the least mutable to me. thats most likely because theyre an earth sign and the earth sign stereotypes (hard working, responsible, practical, independent) are antithetical to mutable signs. not that mutable signs cant be those things, its just usually they like to sit back and let other people take control of it all. they also tend to be avoidant of things in general, especially serious topics. virgos have a very hard time with others being in control but i would say that they have a tendency to be avoidant of things like their emotions. i think all of these things apply to aaron

i talked a bit about capricorn moons in david’s post. that can be summed up to say that capricorn moons are hard working, find comfort in tradition and stability, and have a hard time expressing (or even feeling) their emotions. having a capricorn moon is a placement in detriment. this is the opposite to having a placement in its domicile. for the moon, cancer is in its domicile. this makes the opposite sign to cancer, capricorn, detriment. ive talked about signs being in their domicile before as being a very positive thing and i dont want people to read this and immediately think that because detriment placements are the opposite, that having those placements is the most terrible awful thing in the world, because its not. it just indicates an area that that person might struggle with. for example, aaron and his emotions. capricorn moons usually really appreciate acts of service (like various massages from a certain smartass), as they tend to overwork themselves.

rising sign was very difficult for me to pick out for aaron, as we dont get to see any first impression of him and we obviously don’t know what he looks like. so i wanted to look at the other kind of information we can get from a rising sign in order to pick something out i was satisfied with. one very important thing that the rising sign does is establish your chart ruler. to put this process in the most simple terms possible, to find your chart ruler look at the ruling planet of your rising sign. then look at that planet in your own chart. (mercury rules gemini, aaron has a leo mercury so that is his chart ruler) the chart ruler is a very influential and important part of a person’s chart and can indicate a lot about them. ill talk more about what having a leo mercury means in the paragraph about it, but i think its an important placement for aaron so i wanted to give him a rising sign that reflected that. mercury-ruled rising signs (gemini and virgo) tend to have elfish or bug-like features (i do mean that in the most neutral/positive way possible).

aaron and his leo mercury!!!! leo mercuries are so funny to me. they tend to be a whole lot of talk, more bark than bite, etc. they tend to have a bit of an ego on them. they are passionate speakers and usually very good at keeping peoples attention. they tend to be stubborn in their thinking. one thing we know about aaron is his fighting in the workplace with smartass. part of THAT is the leo mercury.

virgo venus is a placement in its fall. this is the opposite to an exalted placement (venus in pisces), again, not the worst thing in the world, just an area of difficulty. virgo is very much a sign of logic and analysis, it doesnt do well with the planet of love and relationships. and if aaron was having literal shouting matches with the person he had a little crush on? yeah this guy might be having a little bit of difficulty with love (said lovingly). virgo venuses are very practical in their love and affection. they are selective in their partner, but thats because once they choose someone, they are in it for the long haul. they are probably reserved around others, but very loyal and loving to their partner. i think this is all applicable to aaron

looking at the rest of his chart, aaron needed some more fire to back up his leo mercury. what better than an aries mars? THEE mars sign. aries is ruled by mars, this makes this placement in its domicile. aries mars are not afraid of confrontation. they are very passionate and have a lot of drive. they are straightforward, they know what they want and they will go after it. which i would say is accurate to aaron <3
