Best Friends With a Vampire
*A conversation between Taffy Starr, my pink generation Not So Berry sim, and his daughter, Peach.*
A young Peach and her father are eating breakfast by the ocean on this very beautiful morning in Sulani. Caleb Vatore, Taffy’s best friend, left that morning after a night of helping his dear old friend write one of his books. Little Peach looked up and stopped eating her meal.
“Dad, why is your best friend a vampire?”
Taffy thought for a moment and smiled to himself. He knew his daughter would be curious about him being friends with a vampire, who are usually known for living in the dark of the night in gloomy, spooky neighborhoods. The thought of a vampire being out in the sunlight of the beautiful islands of Sulani, living his life almost as if he was human himself, can be perplexing to most of the world. Taffy always admired stories of fantasy and occults, and his fascination for mermaids is what drew him to his loving wife. Caleb’s unique case of vampirism inspired Taffy to keep writing.
“Caleb was the first person to visit me in Sulani when I first moved her, and the last person I expected! He also introduced me to your beautiful mother. He’s a special vampire, Peach. He’s not like the others.”
Peach looked at her dad inquisitively.
“What is it about him? Is it because he’s got an obsession with pink drinks like you, dad?”
Taffy laughed at his daughter’s response. Caleb indeed like to drink cocktails with Taffy after dark, as they talked about all the books they wrote together.
“Not just that, Peach. He’s a great guy. He’s helped me so much here in Sulani and has given me great inspiration for my books!”
Peach gave her father a sly look.
“Sounds like you have a crush on him, dad.”
Taffy’s face turned red. “Of course not… I …uhh… it’s purely platonic, little Peach!” Taffy looked away and thought for a second. “You aren’t going to tell mom that, right?”
Peach was laughing at her dad now. “No dad I know better than to incur the wrath of a mermaid.” She winked at him.
Taffy let out a sigh of relief. “I am writing a book about him, you know. Would you like to know the details?” Peach nodded at her dad and smiled.
“Caleb meets a gothic beauty named Helena, and they fall in love. She always wanted to be a vampire, but he refused to turn her when his heart Is so full of love for this woman, he never wants to give her an immortal life of sadness. They get married, have twins, and their children grow up to be wonderful vampires themselves.” Taffy took a breath and smiled to himself.
“One day, Helena gets captured by the evil Vlad Straud of Forgotten Hollow, after Caleb has left the place to make a home for him and his family. Helena has always been an amazing musician, and Vlad is obsessed with her and her musical abilities. Caleb flies into a rage and plans to rescue his wife from the evil clutches of Vlad who has her as a hostage.” Taffy sighs and looks up into the sky. He’s always been a hopeless romantic and can’t help but getting lost in his own stories.
“Sounds lame.” Peach snorted. “There’s no mermaids.”
They both laughed at the same time, and Taffy looked at his daughter.
“You’re a real comedian, Peach. Never give up on your dreams, baby girl.”
They both hugged each other for awhile and continued to eat their breakfast to the sounds of waves crashing onto the pier.
*This is what happens when I try to work my old NSB save into my occult storyline save. *

Themis: *Sigh* I didn’t realize patrol would be so… boring
Nike: I find it’s an excellent time to observe others. It’s a good study in body language. Those people over there are having an argument.
Themis: I don’t need my eyes to deduce that, my ears work just fine. And it sounds to me like a one-sided argument
Nike: If you know what to look for, you can usually predict what people will do next. You should work on-
