i talked abt this on discord hehe so i'm rewording what i said for a post
thinking about these interactions...... from v3 chapter one before the first trial:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kaede isn't cruel but she doesn't do disingenuous compliments or mince her words when someone or their hobbies don't interest her (and when getting to know everyone for the first time has some difficulty being engaged in stuff that's not related to music) and kiibo is so defensive with literally everyone, you get to see it a lot in his free time events with shuichi, like he's sort of uptight with him until they get to know each other better
but he and kaede just bypass all that right away it's so funny why are they best friends!!!! in the FTEs kiibo doesn't even get mad at her when she asks his opinion on roombas or any of the other silly questions you can choose. she's not like, way nicer to him than with everyone else but they have fun hanging out.. and here he's like "no i know you're not treating me different you're fine don't worry"
and she's the only person in this entire game who would tell him he sounded cool asking an investigation question. plus she is literally going through it at this part ^ she thinks she just killed a friend and failed to end the game. if she says something like this she means it 100%

Alley Cat and Street Rat - Prologue
Kokichi/Kaede, Kokichi & Dice, Kokichi & Angie, Kaede & Shuichi [Established relationship, Aged Up Characters, Miraculous AU, Thieves, Superhero AU]
Kokichi's life has been on a steady track for years, he goes stealing with Dice, he's dating Kaede, and he's been pretty good at keeping those two lives separate. When he ends up stealing some magical jewelry that grants him special powers, his life becomes a lot more interesting and his two worlds become a little harder to keep apart.
Shuichi's calm life seems to avalanche over night. It starts with a case coming across his desk about a group of thieves, escalates when he receives a strange present from his parents that give him strange abilities, and culminates when a supervillain calling himself Yokai starts terrorizing the city. As these separate problems combine into one when he takes up the mantle of a hero and learns the thieves he's chasing have the same abilities as the villain he's fighting.
OoOoOo
The carpet looked puke green in the darkness. That was Kokichi's first thought as he shimmied through the window and landed softly on the floor. His second thought was that it was also ugly. The walls looked like they were a rotten yellow and even in the daylight he couldn't imagine it being anything but ugly. "Money is wasted on the rich," he muttered to himself.
"How does it look in there?" one of his minions questioned, the voice coming quietly from his earpiece.
"Hideous," Kokichi replied as he stood up and looked around. "And are you whispering, Mist?"
"I've never been on comms before, I didn't want to get you caught," Mist replied in a rushed whispered. Kokichi couldn't help snickering at his panic. "Chill out. You can talk normally, just try not to yell."
"O-okay," he replied. Kokichi could practically see his nervous minion fidgeting in his chair. The mental image actually put him at ease. Someone needed to lead around here and it might as well be him.
"You worry too much, Mist. How are the others doing?"
"Team 1 is at the back door, Team 2 is on the west side and..." There was a pause before Mist sighed. "Team 3 is going through the front door."
Kokichi rolled his eyes at the reckless behavior, but he was completely unsurprised. "Just make sure those idiots don't get caught and give us the warning if it looks like anyone is coming."
"You got it, boss."
The line went quiet. Kokichi looked up and down the hall, trying to orient himself to the map in his head before picking a direction to walk in. He tilted the paintings on the wall as he passed him and lifted a bust off its pedestal at the end of the hall before putting it on the floor. He made his way through the rooms he thought would be empty first. A guest room with nothing interesting, a bathroom where he nicked a few bottles of cold medicine and hid the remaining pill bottles under the sink, another guest room. Pretty boring so far, he hoped the others found more interesting things.
Then he got to the study, which was interesting. There were a few jewelry pieces on the table that Kokchi swept onto the table, along with an open book that had matching pictures of the jewels. Might as well keep them together, never knew what you might find. He opened the drawers where he found a few more things to stuff into his bag, costume jewelry and gaudy things all mixed together for some reason. Kokichi didn't question it, just gathered up what he could for later. Once that was done, he made his way to the main bedroom.
It was thankfully empty and Kokichi let out a breath of relief as he began to ransake the room. He pulled cash out of a wallet and out of draws, stuffed a jewelry box into his bag, a handful of expensive watches, and took all the paintings off the wall looking for anything that might be hidden. There were no safes in the wall and digging through the closet only netted him a box of old pictures. Useless. He moved the box under the bed and put all the pictures back on the wall upside down. He took everything else out of the wallet and stuffed it under the mattress. His bag was pretty heavy at this point, so he figured it was time to go.
"I'm about done here," he said into his earpiece. "Is everyone ready to go?"
"I'll tell them to hurry it up, boss," Mist answered.
"Good." Kokichi made his way back to the window before hearing footsteps coming down the hall and changing his route to slip into the bathroom. He locked the door quickly behind him. "Uh oh, looks like whoever was here is up and about. They'll probably sound the alarm soon, so tell everyone to get out, now!"
"Got it!" Mist exclaimed nervously.
The window was smaller here than the one in the hall, but there was less chance of getting caught here than there was out there, so he simply sighed and pulled a hamper over to the window. He had already climbed onto it and shoved his bag out of the window by the time he heard the alarm going off. He hurried to pull himself through the small opening and rolled as he hit the ground. "Ow. Not the most graceful exit I've ever had."
"Are you okay?" Mist asked. He was whispering again, the nervousness back in his voice.
"Yeah, I'm good," Kokichi said as he swung his bag onto his back and broke into a sprint. "You don't have to whisper, Mist."
"I know." He sounded like he would cry.
"Keep it together, Mist, we're at the home stretch."
"I am!" He definitely wasn't, but that was okay. There was a reason Mist was on comms instead of inside like the rest of them.
An alarm started blaring from the house. They'd probably noticed all the redecorating he'd done. He snickered at the thought, hauling himself over the fence that surrounded the property. The van was parked half a block away from the house and he could see Bishop hauling Brush, as well as Fury and Joy running toward the bus as well. Joy waved at him and he waved back. He could see the bright smile on her face beneath her mask which only covered the top half of her face. Fury's mask covered her whole face, but the angry expression on it probably conveyed her feelings well enough.
The door to the passenger seat popped open and Kokichi swung his bag off his back before throwing himself into it. He pulled the door closed and looked at Lantern in the driver's seat. "Gun it!"
"Can Joy and Fury get all the way in first?" Lantern asked with a put upon sigh.
"Gun it!" He repeated insistently.
Lantern sighed, eyes flicking up to the mirror so he could check on their members in the back before finally following Kokichi's orders and pulling off.
"Whoa!" Joy cried as she fell to the floor, Bishop reaching over her to pull the doors closed. "Trying to lose me, boss?"
"I keep trying, but it just doesn't stick," he said with a sigh, sinking into his seat.
Joy pushed herself up and crawled over the others, raising a chorus of objections, until she could hang off the back of his seat. "No way! You love me. Say that you love me!"
Kokichi pointed to his mouth and made a gagging noise. "Gross. No love for minions. You work for peanuts and you're happy about it."
"I hate peanuts," she said with a pout.
He shrugged. "It's none of my business what you do with them."
Brush grabbed her hand and pulled her into Bishop's lap. He couldn't tell whether that was an accidental landing or a planned one, but either way Joy pouted and leaned back against him. Bishop was large and very comfortable to lay on, so Kokichi didn't blame her. "Now, now, settle down," Brush said. "You can jump our boss later."
"Hey!" he cried, turning around fully in his seat so that he could point at her. "That's mutiny."
"Nya ha ha!"
"I ought to have you thrown in the brig!"
"Oh ho! Boss wants to have me all to himself? How divine!"
Kokichi sighed. Arguing with Brush was like yelling at a brick wall sometimes. It was fun when he did it, but when she did it, it was definitely unfair. The two of them never knew when to back down and after they had played chicken with each other until they'd ended up kissing, Kokichi had decided it was better not to push against her too far. At least, now that he had a girlfriend. You can only explain that you made out with your second in command because of an argument so many times before people started to question it and Kokichi was trying not to get to whatever threshold that was.
"So where to, Boss?" Lantern asked. "Base or Home?"
Kokichi hummed loudly as he thought, leaning back in his chair. He very much wanted to go over the spoils tonight, but whenever he was with Dice after a mission they went from inventory to party before he knew it and then he ended up staying out until morning. Kaede would definitely have something to say to him if he stayed out until morning. Worse, she might mention it to her lame friends and that could end up causing problems in the future.
With a dramatic sight, Kokichi commanded, "Home. No one touches anything until Trigger does inventory."
There were immediate objections and cries of disappointment. Mostly from Fury and Joy, but he thought he might have heard Mist make some disappointed grumbles as well.
"Silence minions!" They quieted down quickly and he smiled at the obedience. "Trigger does inventory and the rest of you sleep. That's an order. I'll be back in the morning."
"Yes, sir," they all agreed in unison. It was a bit tired or reluctant from some, but it was a uniform agreement. "Good. Lantern, you're in charge."
Latern's hands tightened on the steering wheel. "Boss, I don't know that Brush will agree to that."
Kokichi took off his mask to smile deviously at him. "you're the one that keeps saying that you should be second in command. Now's your chance to prove it!"
Kokichi could practically see him sweating. Lantern wanted to be in control, but when it came to Brush, he had a hard time running over her like he did with some of the others. Kokichi thought it was funny and a good exercise in reminding him why he didn't have nearly the amount of power he kept trying to reach for without Kokichi needing to spell it out for him. "I, um, I'll do my best, Boss."
"See that you do," Kokichi told him.
The rest of the ride was quieter, but not quiet. It was rarely quiet for long in his little group, even now when only half their members were present.
OoOoOo
Dice headquarters was a building on the outskirts of the city. It was an abandoned building when they had found it and from the outside it still looked the part, the inside however, had been cleaned and furnished over the years until it made a suitable evil lair. It was inconspicuous and easily ignored, which had served them well over the years.
"I'm home!" Kokichi called as he kicked the door open first thing in the morning.
Trigger was laid out on the table in the middle of the room, pink hair spilling out over the papers on the desk, legs kicked in the air, with an array of pens and markers spread out around her. She waved lazily at him without lifting her head from where it was resting on her arms. "Hey, Kiki."
He frowned as he looked at her, but this wasn't an unusual sight. Trigger liked to lounge, liked to draw, was lazy, didn't mind a mess, and was the person most likely to serve as secretary when needed. Seeing books or papers piled around her was a pretty normal occurrence and Kokichi was pretty sure she would bury herself in a mountain of paper if she wasn't stopped. "Did you sleep here?"
"Did you want inventory done?" she countered.
Kokichi looked over the table again, trying to read what was on the loose papers and open notebooks that were covered by her hair or body. He pulled the corner of one from under her arm until he could pick it up. "Was this mine?"
"No." She flipped her hair to the other side, the strands wavy and naturally framing her face. "Well, kinda. It was in your bag, but I copied it. You found something cool."
"So cool that you decided to copy the entire book?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, looking up from the pages at her.
Trigger shrugged. "It's pretty cool and everyone's going to want to see it and get their gross hands all over it and probably tear it." She rolled her eyes. As messy as she was, she hated the idea of things being torn or smudged, and no matter what else Kokichi might say about her, none of the papers that ended up beneath her sprawl were ever so much as wrinkled. She seemed careless most of the time, but she was actually quite meticulous when she wanted to be. "Well, if you want to show them, that is."
"What do you mean?" he asked, looking back down at the book. There were a lot of drawings, some of people in costumes, some that he recognized as the jewelry he stole last night, and others that didn't look familiar at all. There was text at the bottoms of the pages or point to things in particular in a different language, but Trigger had helpfully provided translations. She had done a lot of traveling with her family and had a knack for languages, which had come in handy many times. Though no matter how many of them he learned or what he got her to teach them, she still managed to find one secret enough to write in when she didn't want them to know something. "Why do these look like heroes?"
"Because as far as I can tell, they are," she told him. "Seems like you lucked out and managed to steal magic items."
"Bullshit," he said immediately.
She smiled, reaching into his bag under the table and pulling out a ring, which she tossed to him. "They're called Miraculous, apparently. Put it on."
"What does it do?" he asked, holding up the black ring with a green paw print on the front, studying it from every side. It looked completely ordinary to him.
Trigger shrugged. "Break stuff, mostly."
Kokichi grinned at her as he slipped the ring onto his finger. "I'm in."
The ring flashed, changing into a plain silver band on his finger. Then a light flashed from it and a weird black thing emerged. It was vaguely cat shaped, but in a stuffed charm sort of way, with a large head and big eyes. "Aww, man, I've been asleep for way too long. Got any cheese?"
"See," Trigger said. "Magic."
"Huh," Kokichi hummed in agreement. "And you said they're called Miraculous?"
"Don't ignore me," the thing said. "I'm starving over here! I could keel over at any moment."
"Dramatic," Kokichi said with a smile. "I like it. Minion, fetch the cheese!"
"What if we don't have any cheese?" she asked.
"The store does."
"I am not going to the store to buy cheese for a magic cat," she replied.
"Well someone has to and who's the boss around here?" Kokichi questioned.
Trigger huffed before pushing herself off the table, grumbling as she went toward the kitchen.
"So what are you?" Kokichi asked, reaching out to grab the cat, but it flew around his hand.
"Hey, don't be grabby," it said. "The name's Plagg and I'm a kwami. A sort of guardian spirit for the ring, you could say." The cat flew up to his face, inspecting him and avoiding Kokichi's attempts to grab him. "And what are you? Some kind of hotshot?"
"You could say that," Kokichi answered.
"Do you call all of your friends minions or just really useful ones?" Plagg asked.
"Yes," he answered.
Plagg studied him more before shrugging. "Whatever, just get me my cheese and we can get this show on the road."
"What show?" Kokichi asked.
"She said it already, didn't she?" Plagg asked with a bored drawl. "I'm magic! So are we gonna tear up the town or aren't we?"
"Absolutely," he answered. "So what do you do and how do you do it?"
"Cheese first," Plagg demanded. "Questions can come after. I'm skin and bones over here."
"You look fine to me."
"And you look like a heartless bastard to deprive me of my one and only food source," Plagg said, flopping on his back on the table like he was dying.
"Is that true?"
"Won't know until you feed me."
On cue, a pack of Kraft singles hit the side of Kokichi's head. "Ow! Hey!" he cried out.
"We have cheese!" Trigger yelled from the kitchen doorway.
"Gee, thanks." Kokichi rubbed his head as he placed the cheese on the table.
"Ugh, really? This awful processed mess is all you have to offer me?" Plagg complained. "You just can't get good service nowadays."
"Beggars can't be choosers," Kokichi told him
"You'll find that I can be very choosy," Plagg replied. "Buuut, I guess this will do for now. But only because I'm starving. Next time you'd better get the good stuff." Plagg stuffed three slices into his mouth and given that his whole body was small enough to fit into the palm of Kokichi's hand, it looked like quite a lot of cheese. "If you don't keep me well fed, I won't be able to transform you, you know."
"I didn't."
"Well now you do! Keep up, kid."
Kokichi rolled his eyes. "Come on, get to the good stuff already. What can you do?"
Plagg shoved another sheet of cheese into his mouth. For all his complaints, he was certainly devouring the stuff fast enough. He made a note to put cheese on the shopping list, since they were apparently going to need a lot of it. "What can I do, aside from give you enhanced strength, speed, durability, and make you better than any human could ever hope to be on their own?"
"Yeah, aside from that," Kokichi said with a grin.
Plagg rolled his eyes. "Kids these days are so ungrateful."
Kokichi looked at his nails. "It takes a lot to impress me, what can I say?"
"You could start with thank you, Plagg. I'm really happy to have you, Plagg. Here's some more cheese, Plagg. You know, the normal things you say when you're offered supernatural powers."
"Yeah, yeah. Get on with it, cat."
Plagg huffed and stuffed more cheese into his mouth before sighing in contentment and flopping on the table. Kokichi hoped that he didn't eat that much cheese every time. "I am the kwami of destruction. With one word, you can destroy anything you touch. Bam, instantly to dust. So you'd better be careful with it."
"What's the word?"
"Cataclysm," Plagg told him. "Obviously it only works when you're transformed. And also you won't have me around to guide you when you do transform, so you'd best listen up now or else be up a creek later."
"Wait, why won't I?" Kokichi questioned.
"If I'm transforming you, I can't also be out here talking now can I?" Plagg asked.
"Yeah, that makes sense, I guess."
"Now, to transform all you need to say is 'Claws Out' and to turn back 'Claws in' It's all pretty simple."
"Then let's test it!"
Plagg floated up off the table. "Ready when you are, kid."
"Claws out!" Plagg was sucked into the ring and a flash of green light rushed over him before he found himself completely transformed. He ran over to the nearest mirror to look at himself. He had black leather jacket over a purple shirt, two tails, a black cat with cat ears on it, as well as googles, black pain formed a mask over his eyes which had been large and catlike, and black pants. He looked like a perfect cross between a hero and a thief. "Perfect," he said to himself. "Things are about to get a lot more interesting."

V3 Boys x Pregnant S/O in the Killing Game
Warning: DRV3 Spoilers
Tumblr media
“S/O is what?!”
He panics and freaks out.
Calms down as soon as you tell him that you’ll get through it with him. It’s just all the more reason to survive.
“But Gonta… no can put child in this hell!”
He has a fire in his eyes that you honestly wouldn’t expect from him. You have to try your hardest to convince him not to fight Monokuma, out of fear of him being punished.
“Gonta will try to survive…for Gonta and S/O’s kid.”
He carries you everywhere from now on, not wanting you to strain yourself. If you ask, he puts you down, but will hold you and keep you close by.
During Class Trials, he immediately shuts any suspicion down.
“S/O can’t be culprit! Was with Gonta!”
You tell him to be wary of Kokichi, as you think Kokichi doesn’t have good intentions with your boyfriend. He just gives you a smile.
“Kokichi wants to end killing game just as much as Gonta!”
When all of you go in the simulation, Gonta makes sure you’re okay and that the baby’s okay. You don’t exactly look pregnant in the simulation, but he still makes sure. After that, he goes off to watch Kokichi, and you’re left to explore on your own.
To make a long story short, when Miu was killed, you noticed Kokichi giving you the side-eye, but didn’t say anything to him. You could tell he knew something that you didn’t.
During the Class Trial, the “Killing Game Busters” were revealed. You didn’t want to believe it was Gonta. You really didn’t. He would never hurt someone like that without a purpose…
“S/O, take care of Gonta’s baby. Gonta will be watching over you and baby!”
You sobbed as you watched his execution. The father of your child was burned alive, and he was never coming back.
Instantly, you unleashed all your rage onto Kokichi and his crocodile tears. Several people had to pull you off of him, claiming that the stress wouldn’t be good for the baby.
Besides, you could hit Kokichi with all the punches in the world, but nothing would bring him back…
Tumblr media
Laughs when you tell him about it.
Laughs the second time you tell him about it.
“It is even funnier the second time!”
Doesn’t laugh the third time.
“Wait a minute. You can’t be serious-?!”
Hope you valued your alone time while it lasted, because that is now a thing of the past!
MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!
Lets everyone know that they’re not even allowed near you. He keeps you in his room at all times, you barely even get to sleep in your own bed anymore.
He only really lets you out during Class Trials, and even then he convinces Monokuma to put his podium next to yours.
Constantly talks about how happy he is that he’s going to be a father, to the point everybody knows. Even the Monokubs are a little bit annoyed.  So much for keeping it a secret.
“Hmm, nope! It can’t be me, sorry! I was too busy spending time with my child and my girlfriend~”
His logic is that since you’re pregnant, maybe nobody would kill you because they would feel too bad, so he doesn’t really mind screaming it to the world.
The longer the game goes on, though, the more fucked up things he feels compelled to do, in his efforts to try and stop the killing game.
You practically scream at him when he pretends to be dead.
“Aw, don’t worry your pretty little head! I’m alright, aren’t I?”
Maki keeps sending her threats for him to you.
“If you want to raise the child with a stable 2-Parent family, I suggest you calm your boyfriend down.”
During the fifth trial, things are very tense. Either way, your boyfriend was either dead or going to die. You knew it was all a part of his scheme, but you still thought this was a step too far.
When Kaito was revealed in the Exisal, you bawled your eyes out.
Even as Shuichi explained Kokichi’s thought process, it made nothing better.
You didn’t even get to say goodbye…
And your child would never meet his father.
Tumblr media
Wait, you’re what?
Oh no.
In a killing game?!
Oh no.
And he’s the father???
Oh NO.
You’re surprised that he doesn’t faint, by the way he’s acting.
“S/O, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to, really!”
You tell him that it’s okay, because you know he’ll make a great parent. You’ve made him a little more confident, but not by a lot.
“We should probably keep this a secret for now. You can never really be too careful in these circumstances.”
Everyone can tell something’s off with him, because he gets really bad Couvade syndrome.
He still tries to help you as much as he can. If you’re craving something he brings you it almost immediately.
If your stomach moves even a tiny bit, he assumes the baby is coming even though he knows better. You have to tell him that it’s only a kick and he needs to take it down a couple of notches.
“Heh…sorry.”
His anxiety is through the ROOF.
Still tries to work on it. He’s got to be strong for you.
Trains with Kaito to help him become stronger, and brings you along with him.
“Hey Shuichi, don’t you think S/O might want to train with us?”
“It’s okay Kaito, S/O gets really sleepy during this time.”
Tries his hardest during class trials. He can’t afford to take shit from anybody and risk getting you killed. Hits the killers with the hard facts and evidence.
Investigates with you by his side.
“Now the baby can see his father in action!”
At the 6th Trial, he reveals your pregnancy, even though Tsumugi already knew.
Nobody else did. How? Guess they weren’t paying attention to your ever-increasing stomach.
When everyone ducks under rocks, Shuichi shields you with his body for extra protection. After the two of you make it out alive, along with Maki and Himiko, the 4 of you go off to start a new life together.
Tumblr media
“WHAAAATTTT?!”
Thinks you cheated on him.
He’s very hurt.
You spend almost an hour convincing him that he’s the only one you’ve ever been with. He still doesn’t really believe it, but there’s only one thing to do.
The two of you consult Miu to figure out what in the hell is going on.
“Miu! I never wanted to actually have sperm and be able to create life! Now our child is going to be born in such horrible conditions!”
“Well, be more fuckin’ clear next time, and wrap it up when you get your dick wet, why don’t you?!”
Looks on the bright side.
He was able to get you pregnant, something no other robot was able to do before! That’s a complete win!
You’re still stuck in this school, though, and this was no place to raise a child.
“Robots aren’t allowed to hurt humans, and I can’t risk you killing someone and losing the trial…”
He helps you the best that he can. He gives you any medicine that he can find, and he lets you use him as a heating pad.
Scans daily to see your state of health. Sometimes more than necessary…
“I just did this scan 5 minutes ago? Oh, I hadn’t noticed…”
Takes pictures of your stomach every day to monitor your growth.
Kokichi always makes fun of the two of you.
“Well, I guess that answers my question! Robots do have dicks! Hey S/O, was it all cold and metallic?”
“…that’s not funny.”
When it was revealed during the 6th Trial about Danganronpa, he was conflicted.
The voices in his head– the audience– told him all different things. He was tired, he just wanted to be free. He didn’t want your child to grow up in a world like this.
“S/O, if this continues, and the kid we created joins a future season, I’d never forgive myself. It’s time to end this. Please, when you see them, let them know their father loves them so.”
He sacrificed himself by blowing up the school. As he saw his friends and his significant other huddled beneath a rock, he grinned, knowing they were going to be okay.
Tumblr media
Scoffs.
“Well, that’s just my luck that I would cause you to have to bring a new life into this horrible world.”
He’s honestly pretty upset over the whole thing for at least a couple days.
But then he realizes it; he can raise them to be better than he ever was or had a chance at being. He can teach them to do better.
This makes him happy, and he apologizes for being so stand-offish.
“Looks like… we’ve still got a ways to go.”
When the two of you lay down together, he always lays down in a way that his ear is directly pressed against you stomach.
He talks to the child a lot.
“Don’t worry, little one. We’ll get you and everyone else out of here and to safety. I love you so much.”
Truth be told, he’s a little scared that he’s a  threat to the kid. After what happened in his past, what happened to his family, what happened to his lover…
You tell him to try to not think about it, and you know that he’s learned from the past.
The two of you only tell a couple people that you trust; namely, Shuichi and Kirumi. They’re both really happy for you!
Kirumi helps out a lot by getting you whatever you need for the day. She doesn’t get at all bothered by your morning sickness, and even offers to clean.
After the motive videos come out, Ryoma watches his and though he’s a little hurt, it doesn’t stop his determination to leave.
While she’s cleaning Ryoma’s room, Ryoma confides in her for advice.
“I feel like…I won’t be enough for our kid. Look at me now, I’m nothing more than an empty shell. I just… want to be enough for our family.”
SLAM!
Ryoma fell to the ground with a light thud, and that was the last anybody ever heard from him.
Crying out as you saw the piranhas tear away his flesh, you fainted on the spot.
You didn’t even have time to investigate, because the Class Trial had started.
You appreciated how seriously Kirumi was taking this trial. She kept making glances at you, but you assumed it was because she felt bad that your child would have to be without a father.
Until…
No, it couldn’t be. She’d gained your trust, only to betray you in the end? What kind of sick joke was this?!
As she was executed, you looked down at your stomach, rubbing it.
“Looks like we’ve still got a ways to go, kid…”
Tumblr media
Wildly switching between happy, sad, and terrified.
On the one hand, he’s happy to be a father to your child. You were the love of his life, and he wanted to do his part and take care of the kid.
On the other hand, when you tell him the news, he paces back and forth, trying to find a way to get you to be as safe as possible. He already survived one killing game, how hard could it be to let the two of you be the last survivors again?
He asked Monokuma to see if you could have the easy way out.
“Monokuma, I know you probably want me to still participate, but my girlfriend, she’s pregnant now, so can you please just-”
“Puhuhuhu~! All applications made are final, buddy! It looks like we may just have another member in a short 9 months! Well, the more the merrier!”
Shit.
After that “lovely” conversation, Rantaro was more determined than ever to find a way out of the game.
He’d already lost his sisters, and he wouldn’t dream of losing you and the child too.
When the countdown motive for the first murder is introduced, he parts with you for just a few minutes, to record the videos that you and your other classmates would later find. He wanders in the library in order to do something, but he’s distracted when a shot put ball falls behind him. As he goes to pick it up, he’s struck in the back of the head.
Finding his body, you wanted to throw up, and not from morning sickness.
Nobody knew of your pregnancy yet, so nobody really knew how deep into despair you’d fallen.
Though, they still felt sorry for you, because it was obvious the two of you were together.
You didn’t feel right being angry at Kaede when she was revealed as the culprit, especially as she showed deep remorse.
“I didn’t mean it, S/O. I’m so sorry…”
Tears pricked your eyes as she was snatched back by the chains.
You forgive her.

Over the moon at first.
Yes, that’s a pun. Shut up, I know it’s bad.
This man is DANCING while he’s celebrating.
“WOO! I”M GONNA BE A FATHER!”
He’s loud enough that everyone knows within 10 minutes of you telling him.
Well.
When he has some alone time, he frowns to himself. He’s sick, What if he doesn’t live long enough to see their smiling face for the first time? Hear their first laugh?
These invasive thoughts clouded his mind, as he started to cough up blood.
“D-Damn it…”
Kaito decided not to tell you, not just because he’s an idiot, but he doesn’t want you to stress and possibly cause damage to the child.
He talks to your stomach everyday.
“What’s up, my little star!”
He’s extremely proud and isn’t afraid to show you off.
The more ill he gets, the more hope he has that you’ll be just fine. You have to be!
After he’s locked in the bathroom, he tries to find a way out. Any way out, he needed to make sure you were safe. Kokichi couldn’t keep him locked up forever!
When he and Kokichi make their deal, he does it in your interest.
“If Monokuma can’t solve the murder, I’ll finally get to walk out of here and start my family! Right?!”
But their plan failed. As you watched his execution, you screamed, pounding on the screen, begging Monokuma to let him go, please. You’d do anything! Soon, his coughing got worse, and he was soon on the ground, pink all around him. He’d died of his own accord.
You smiled happily at the bittersweet moment. He died of his own accord, no longer a part of Monokuma’s twisted game.
You knew he was above, watching you from the stars.
Tumblr media
“Did you say you’re pregnant…? My, what an interesting turn of events!”
Did this man just say it was interesting?
You told him that this was serious, and that you needed to find a way out of here now.
“Keheehee... you don’t really think I’d let anything happen to you, do you? It’s clear Monokuma won’t let us go, even under these circumstances. Besides, I have my own kin developing inside your body, you need extra attention now!”
He will literally give you a tsunami of compliments everyday about how your body seems to be handling the pregnancy.
“S/O, your body is just so radiant today!”
Tells you stories about motherhood in other cultures.
Knows the best herbal remedies to calm symptoms such as headaches or nausea.
Nervous that you keep having to go to the bathroom, guides you there and back.
You really don’t know why he completely lost his shit by killing Angie and Tenko.
You convinced yourself that it was because of the oppressive student council, but why Tenko?
As he revealed his true self, you were horrified. He...was a serial killer?
The Korekiyo you came to love was a serial killer?
You were thrown into despair as you came to terms with his true colors. Nothing made sense anymore. Not only was your boyfriend and father of your first-born child dead, but he’d been batshit insane this entire time?
Maybe the next time you see red rope and hear a promise of “pleasure like you’ve never experienced”, you’ll politely decline.

A Simple Wager
Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.8K
A/N: I swore to myself I was going to do the prompts but then I got this ask and another cute one and ah! Prompts will be out by the weekend! And so will a few other other stories!
"You really can't be serious about this." There's a strained smile on your face as you hold the headset in your hands. Your legs bounce as you sit on the bed, looking up at Tomura who sets up the gaming console.
"You lost." He has such a wide grin on his face that you're sure his face is hurting. "It was a bet."
"I didn't think you were serious!" You shriek, clutching the headset tighter. "I thought you didn't like sharing," you jab, giving him a pointed stare.
He takes a deep breath and a smile still lingers in his face. "I'm your leader-"
"Oh fuck you," you chuckle, shaking your head. "All right, Shigaraki," you emphasize his name with a roll of your eyes, "say that you use leadership on me, how well do you think that'll help our relationship when this-” you point between the monitor and you- “is over?"
"You act like you aren't excited," his tone playful, like this was a couple’s teasing rather than a bet that makes you burn in shame. He stands and makes his way towards you, leaning over and giving you a smile.
"I- I'm not!" You jerk the headset and red eyes follow it as it lands near the pillows. He gives a raise of his eyes. "This-"
"You act like you don't get off on that voyeuristic shit," he cuts you off, making your mouth snap close. "Don't give me that look. I've seen you squirm and hump your hand while you watch people get fucked in public." He pulls away from you and grabs the headset in his hands. "Be happy I'm not doing this in public."
"I-"
"Now hurry up. The raid is about to start." He holds the headset out to you and you take it in your shaky hands.
"I thought you liked winning," you try to joke, a burning sensation on your face. When he tilts his head at you, you look away from his gaze. "I've never played this game Tomura. And even if I have, I doubt I'd be able to win while you," you clear your throat and look at him for a moment, "you know."
"Fuck you?" He fills the blank for you and you smack his arm.
"Yes," you nod your head.
"While it is irritating that I'll be losing," he rubs at his neck and you click your tongue, "I also get to fuck you- so I think it's a win.” He gives you a wicked grin and his eyes glint with something dangerous. “Now, let’s start.”
You place the headset on, adjusting the mic and clearing your throat. “They can hear me?” You walk towards the desk which has been rearranged, the computer on the short side, the rest of the space having been cleared for you to rest on.
“Yes.” His hands hold onto your waist and his hand slides to your sex, fingers pressing carefully against your covered hole. He shushes your protests. “Grab the controller and play.”
“They’re your friends?” You ask through clenched teeth as a finger presses against you.
“You can call them that.” He places a kiss against your thighs and his digits hold onto you. “Just start playing.”
“I can say your name?” You ask, moving his character around, following the lead of the others. You take a sharp breath when he sucks on your inner thigh, tongue lapping over the skin.
“Make them understand that you belong to me.” He nips at you and you let out a yelp, muffling it by biting at your bottom lip. “Focus.”
“Easier said than done,” you grumble, trying to understand the controls. “I don’t even know how to access the inventory or- oh! I just figured out how to access the weapons. I think.” You pout and squirm on the table, trying to get comfortable. “Can we get a blanket for my elbows? They’re starting to hurt.”
“Next time,” Tomura mumbles against your skin, edging closer to your heat.
“Next- ah!” You dip your head when his fingers pull your underwear to the side, tongue teasing the rim of your clit, folds moving and sticking onto his pink muscle.
“I’ve barely even touched you and you’re already wet. I knew you’d enjoy this.” He pulls down your underwear, exposing your intimates to him, heat already slick and glinting with your arousal. “Best winning ever, I’ll tell you that right now.” He kisses at you, lips puckering around your lower ones and tongue darting between the space of his lips. “I’m going to make you beg for my cock.” His tongue flashes around, darting in and out of your leaking hole, swiping and tonguing at your gummy walls. “I want them all to know what a little cockwhore you are.” His words vibrate and your legs tense under him, a low pooling of heat begins in your stomach.
“What’s the mission? Li- Like,” a groan stifles your words and you breath harshly, “what are we doing?”
“Stop talking and just follow the others’ lead,” he growls against your skin, tongue lapping around your quivering clit. “So fucking sweet.” His breath is hot against you, warming your already hot sex, as it pulses with want, dripping with sweet arousal that slips past his chin and stains your inner thighs with dew.
Tomura eats you feverishly, jaw moving along your sex, teeth grazing at your sensitive flesh that sparks when he moans against you. The controller is held in a harsh grip, fingers indented with semicircles when you mash on a button roughly. You twitch around his tongue, walls constricting, head dipped as you breath harshly through your nose, desperate to keep any lewd sounds from escaping past your lips.
“Tomura,” you whisper, “I can’t,” you squeak when his fingers press on the bundle of nerves hidden between your legs, “can’t focus. Slow down.” You shut your eyes and slap a hand over your mouth, the squeal still audible through you, when he pinches the bud between two fingers.
“Is he already fucking you?” A voice rings through the headset and your mouth pulls into a thin line. “I have to say, I thought you’d be louder.” His voice has a hint of amusement etched into the lazy drawl.
Your eyes widen. “Tomura,” you hiss through your teeth, standing on the tips of your toes as his tongue curls inside of you, “who the fuck is on your team?”
“He lost a bet to us, dear.” You breath harshly, nerves bundling and forming in the pit of your stomach, pushing the pooling heat to the side. “This was the most we could get out from the original bet.”
“What the- oh god,” you breath harshly, letting half the controller loosen from your grip, the bulge of it hitting the table. “Or- Original bet?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Dabi rasps, “just give us a picture of what’s going, will ya?”
“Why the fuck-” a bemoan sounds throughout the room- “are they here?” You ask, voice strained, pulled on tight as you try to keep what little composure you have. “You- You said-”
“I said you could call them friends,” his lips wrap around your folds, tongue wetting them and suckling the arousal, “you took it as internet friends, didn’t you?”
“This is so cruel, Tomura,” you pout, thumbs jerking causing the character to stagger into another. “I- Tomura! I see these people and- and they’re hearing me-”
“Get fucked?” Jin interjects, voice loud, making you wince. “It’s pretty kinky. Never thought you’d actually agree to this!”
“Shut it,” your heart beats erratically, as you try to match each voice to their name, “some of us are trying to jerk off over here.”
“Dabi,” you breathe out, followed by a yelp. “Tomura!” You chastise, scowl on your lips. “That hurt!”
“Don’t say his name like that,” he warns, licking at your thigh where his teeth leave an imprint on you. “I told you to say my name.” Two fingers enter your plush walls, moving around, scissoring inside of your walls, knuckle deep as they curl and click with your slick.
“I’m- Who else is here?” You give a pointed glare at the screen where the characters have stopped moving save for your own which jerks and you drop the controller, nudging it closer to the screen, your character finally still.
“Can you guess?” A calm voice rings out, composed but also wavering at the end.
“Jin.” A pinch to your clit makes you jerk. “Atsuhiro.” A sharp smack to your rear.
“Forgetting one,” a deep voice rings out.
“Shuichi,” you mumble. You cry in pain at the bite in your inner thigh, flaring out and fading as it reaches your heating core. “You really don’t get to throw a fit when I’m the one getting fucked,” you seethe, eyes narrowing and nails clawing at the table.
“Watch the tone,” he warns, voice low. His digits slide out of you, and they swipe at his tongue, reaching at the far end and dragging to the tip. “Remember who’s in charge.”
He returns to you and you wail out moans of pleasure, gasping for breath, dribbles of spit coating at the desk and tears splashing into small puddles. Your body burns, pleasure and ecstasy coursing through your veins, humiliation and shame burning in your chest and the tips of your ears. He darts in and out of you, roughly and with his own desire clouding his mind, and even as he selfishly tastes you, makes you participate in this cruel bet that you thought was a joke, you lap it up. The heat in your stomach rises and boils, promising to spill over his tongue, to coat him in your essence and let him taste your sweet.
“I’m close,” you manage to make out, eyes fluttering open, view filling with the monitor screen that still plays a still image of the game that has been forgotten. “Tomura,” you chant his name, desperate to fill your own ears with the sound of his name, but your ears remain bounded by the speakers that fill with grunts and teasing words about how submissive you are.
And with a lingering tip of his tongue, that starts at your clit that quivers and flattens to your slit, he pulls away. Your cunt dripping and soaked with a mixture of your slick and his dribble, muscles tense and the like a candle that has been snuffed, the knot in your stomach loosens and fades away.
“No, no. Tomura, please,” you whine, kicking your leg out. “Tomura,” you cry, bringing your forehead to rest on the cool wood.
“You need to say what you want.” His hand traces down your spine and stops short of your bra, two fingers hooking into the strap. “I want them to know who you belong to.” The straps on your shoulders slip down and your breasts press deeper into the table. “Beg for it.”
Your breath is heavy and the knot in your stomach is fading, the pulsing in you so close but ripped away so suddenly by the touch of his fingers. Tears brim in your eyes and your face is flushed, eyes trying to dart behind to see what he does. You let out a shuddering exhale when you feel his cock slide between your folds and pull away. You wiggle to try to capture him, to entice him rather than have you beg for it in front of your teammates.
“Come sweetheart. He’s not going to stick it in until you beg for it.” Twice’s voice is hungry, and you can picture him salivating at the thought of you begging. “So either you want to remain unsatisfied or you want to be filled. Which is it?”
His cockhead is warm against you, a teasing sensation if pushing and rimming your sweet hole and yet he shows restraint and pulls away before you can pull him in with your walls. You were already so close, already whispering his name and leaking onto him. And in front of the rest of the team no less, whose ragged breaths you could hear through the headset.
You swallow the last bit of dignity you have left and cross your arms in front of you, turning your head, feeling the grooves of the earcovers press against your forearm. “Tomura,” you say in a soft voice, “please, Tomura. I- I want your cock Tomura.”
“Be specific,” Shuichi hisses.
You gulp and nod. “Let me be your little cocksleeve Tomura. Please. Fill me until I leak with your seed. I want to be fucked by your cock. Make me scream your name into the mic.”
A chorus of “good girl” rings out and your chest swells in pride and the pearl between your legs twitches to life, your sweet leaking between your legs. You inch your legs further apart, your heat exposed to the cool air of the air, slick leaving you wet and ripe. There’s a delicate press of his head along your slit, swiping it up and down, teasing and brushing past your clit, making your toes curl.
His head enters you, pushing against your walls and fucking a soft squish sound. You coo out his name, rising onto your hands and keeping your head low with eyes shut. The breathing in your ears takes a sharp turn, a small curse uttered between closed teeth, light clicking in the background and sighs of pleasure. He pushes further, walls stretching around as he fills you. Your tongue lolls out as you pant, spittle pooling on the flat of your tongue. He pushes himself in and a moan forms in the back of your throat.
“Come on, dear, tell us how it feels to be fucked,” Atsuhiro’s voice is low, a strained tone latched onto his words and there’s a bit of excitement that sends waves coursing through your body. “And like Shuichi said, be specific, will you?”
“It’s- He’s so big. I- oh,” you mewl, bottom lip trembling. “I feel so full. It- It stings a bit. Feels too tight and oh god, Tomura, like that, again.” His hands are holding you by the waist, hips slapping into yours as he keeps a steady pace, his thickness never fully leaving the warm embrace from your soft cunt. Nails dig into your skin and you hiss, feeling the pressure increase followed by a stinging sensation. “He- He’s holding me tight-”
“You’re a tight fit,” he growls, hands loosening his grip and sliding up to the curve in your body. “A vice grip around me. Like- shit- like you want me to fill you up.” His hands tickle at your sides and flutter above your ribs. They grope at your breasts and pull you against his chest and you yelp in surprise.
“It’s deeper now,” you choke out. “I- Oh, it feels so good.” Your hands cover his, palms pressing into your pebbled nipples that jut out. Your breasts cease their bouncing, encased in his hands, hands slipping down our body to rub at the clit that twitches. “I’m,” you lick your lips, “touching myself. Playing with my clit, and I- Tomura, harder! Please!” Your eyes water and lean your head on him, stray strands of hair flying to your face and obscuring your view.
“Fuck! I bet you’re just gushing at this point, huh?” Jin exclaims, letting a guttural moan rip through. “Keep going, come on.”
“Do you want to know the original bet?” You make a noise of confirmation, high-pitched and short. “It was to have a turn with you.” Your eyes widen and you try to turn to Tomura whose eyes are closed, a hardened nipple rolled between his index and middle finger. “But he made us change it. So sure that he would win but even he felt uncertain to lower the bet.” Dabi’s voice is cruel, a hungry tone interwoven in it and you wonder if he’s even touching himself to you voicing the actions or if it’s the humiliation that’s bringing him closer to the edge. You think it’s both.
“Tomura,” you mewl, hands coming back up to grip his, now two fingers wet with your sweet nectar. “Tomura, you’re filling me up.”
“Whose pussy is this?” He grunts, lowering his head to plant a rough kiss on your shoulder. “Say it.”
“Yours Tomura! My-” your face burns and you’re unsure if it’s because of humiliation or the growing heat that courses through your body and makes your muscles tighten. “This is your pussy!” A tear slides down your face and you slip a hand to disappear between your legs.
“I didn’t know you could be so vulgar,” Atsuhiro comments. “I have to admit, it sounds rather endearing on you.”
“I’m going to fill you up. Do you understand? I’m going to fill you up with my seed. And you’re going to keep it there so that way when you go out and see them, you’ll feel me drip and slide down your leg. They all get to hear you moan like a bitch in heat but I’m the only one who gets to fuck you. To feel you clench around my cock and hear you beg for it- isn’t that right?” He tugs on your nipples and a sweet moan fills the ears of the audience.
“Fuck Tomura! Yes! Fill me up, make me feel full! I want you,” you cry, fingers circling harder around your clit, desperate to reach your end, feeling the bud throb underneath you.
“Look at that, the whore actually wants to get bred,” Jin laughs, as he hears your words and no doubt Tomura’s. “The thought of that sweet, pretty cunt all filled and dripping with jizz- well fuck. I wished we traded this for a picture.”
“If we play our cards right, I think we can work that into another bet,” Shuichi hisses, the ‘s’ of his words dragging out. “To see them filled with sperm, cunt throbbing and leaking- fuck!”
“Ya hear that, doll?” Dabi’s voice throaty as he pants. “You got all of us close to creaming just by the sound of your voice. Imagine how quick we’d be if you gave us a chance at the cunt of yours.” He laughs and you shut your eyes, feeling as if the laugh were being spat at you. “Fuck, I bet even your mouth would be enough.”
“I’d face fuck them,” Jin interjects.
You moan at the words and bite your bottom lip, throwing a worried glance at Tomura whose eyes remain shut as he thrusts into you. With how close he is near the headset, you’d bet your life- or at the very least a picture of what they wanted- that he could hear the words directed to you.
“You’re clamping down my cock,” he laments. “You’re getting close.” You can feel the power in his thrusts, threatening to overtake you, hands that leave your abused breasts and ghost over your stomach, replacing your hand with his. “Tell me- Tell them what you are.”
There’s no way around this, you’re aware of that. He can act as he hates the idea of it, can promise you as he holds you that he won’t make another bet like that but you remember his grin, how giddy he was at the thought to start this entire ordeal. He’s excited for this, drooling at the thought of having others hear how he makes you feel, what you are to him and only to him. He wants to hear you say filthy, vile things, to beg for his seed and let the others look at you the next day, to know and remember what they heard, to remember that you came undone in front of them all.
“I’m yours Tomura!” The heat is rising, spilling over and dripping to your core. “I’m your cocksleeve- yours and only yours,” you can hear the desperation in your voice and your back arches when he rubs firmly at your clit, his cock hitting the soft part inside of you, making your heart quicken. “Fill me with your seed! This cunt is yours- Tomura, fill me up, please. I’m begging!”
He bends you over, your hands coming flat against the surface and his hand grab at your hair, pulling you back, his cock burrowing deep inside of you, twitching around your pulsing walls. There’s a slight stinging pain that shoots down your neck to the base of your spine, and you stumble when your own hand leaves and rubs loose circles on you, the little sensation pushing you over the edge.
You dip your head forward, a choked sound croaking out until his name echoes in the room, chanted in a loud voice until it’s whispered, breathy and hoarse, arm holding you you up, lowering into a bed, where you rest your head on your forearm, legs shaking and slick slipping and coating his length.
Your walls pulse and tighten around him, securing him inside of you, and he works his way to his own high as you ride yours out, body still sensitive and lighting with sparks as he continues to move and slowly your hair falls past his hand and flutters down in waves. His cock twitches, hips stuttering and then it burns, filling you with his ejaculate, pooling deep inside of you. He holds himself still in you, ragged breaths come out and fill the room and you hold yourself still, whimpering when he pulls away and a trail of his semen dribbles past your hole and shines against the low light in the room.
The headset is removed, ruffling your hair and your eyes flicker, straining to see past your peripherals. You a soft click, and the intense emotion and orgasm has left you too tired to turn around.
“Shows over,” he rasps. He’s quiet for a second, hand resting above the small of your back, his pinky tapping against you in a steady rhythm. “Hm,” his hand inches upwards, “you’ll see them tomorrow. That’s for them to decide.”
Your eyes flicker upwards and the monitor is turned off. You watch pale hands move around, eyes drooping and you grumble in protest when hands handle you roughly, pulling you close to a bare chest, and letting your feet shuffle awkward to the bed.
“We’re talking about the bet tomorrow,” you yawn, eyes watering and straining to stay awake.
He waves a hand in acknowledgement and drapes a blanket over you. Chapped lips press against your temple, and the bed dips. He brings out his phone and a little tune plays out, fingers swiping across the screen as his face is illuminated by a blue glow.
“You want to watch?” You nod sleepily and he spreads his arm, pulling you close to watch him play a mobile game. “I’ll clean you later,” he says nonchalantly, giving you another glance, eyes softening when they meet yours.

Me and @brocolibean : talk about Ryota, Chihiro, Chiaki, and Kokichi being chaos siblings
Me: >:3
Tumblr media
Chihiro is the oldest but the shortest, Ryota and Chiaki are the middle children and Kokichi is the youngest
Tumblr media
there was also a picture of Ryota walking in on Kiibo and Miu but it looked bad
Tumblr media
Mondo offered to drive them to the store
Tumblr media
their all doing their own thing, which is playing on a switch, doing some coding, animating, and creating a master plan to rule the world (also Ryota looks like Simon from infinity train)  their  probably listening to a lofi playlist
Tumblr media
they fight a lot, neither of them are adopted
this post is very long so beware! also you can add onto this! or ask questions! in fact please do ;0; I've spent so long on this post, ALSO what do you think their last name is??? cuz i COULD just pile on all their last names for the comedy buuuut idk
extra headcannons and stuff below the cut
extra scenes and stuff i didnt draw :
Nagito and Hajime are over to hang out with Chiaki their all cuddling or something and Kokichi just slams her room door open  standing there until Chiaki has to push him out.
Tumblr media
the younger siblings all go into Chihiro’s room arguing
Chihiro already has their phone out : get out or I'm calling Mondo
Kokichi: hell yeah he’s fun!-
Chihiro: taka’s with him
Kokichi runs out on all fours screaming.
Tumblr media
Kokichi: hey Chiro, how do i ask a boy out?
Chihiro coding or smth: quit being a pussy.
Kokichi:
Chihiro:
Kokichi:
Chihiro: don't you d-
Kokichi bursts into tears : CHIAKI! RYOTA! CHIHIROS BEING MEAN TO MEEEEEEE!!!
Tumblr media
head cannons for this au thing
Kokichi and Chihiro dye their hair (purple and orange) all of their hair colour is blonde in some way
Kokichi is trans, pan and ace he uses he/it, he has a crush on Shuichi but it seems pretty one sided
Chihiro is queer in all senses, uses any pronouns, their in a poly relationship with taka and Mondo
Chiaki uses she/her pronouns while being bi with a male lean also being poly, she's dating Nagito and Hajime
Ryota is mlm and uses he/him pronouns, he's dating imposter!
they all make fun of Chihiro for their height especially Kokichi
their parents are always out on business trips or something so their usually home alone, chaos ensues
are their parents rich? does Kokichi steal money? we’ll never know
all four of them are night owls
if Kokichi has D.I.C.E over they hang out in the garage and no one is aloud to mess with them
they all watch anime together
they all also take meds for different things
IOU cards are very important in this household
more character based headcannons
Chihiro:
the oldest kid!
probably has a job to go along with school
has taka and Mondo over often
the hermit of the house hold
part of a robotics club with, Miu, Kiibo, and Souda
only one who even remotely knows how to cook
their bad at it tho so taka and Mondo come over to help a lot
their room is a mess most of the time despite what you'd think
really tired
uses a fanny pack, and light up heelies
Chiaki:
1/2 of the twins
middle kid with Ryota
also really tired?
also has a messy room but its not as bad , cleans it up for when nagito and Hajime come over
the one who takes care of the bugs
she's a twitch streamer
always has a backpack on sometimes even at home
brings her switch everywhere
has a bunch of plushies and figures of anime and videogame characters
bad at cooking but the best at making Raman
makes money through twitch streaming
Ryota
2/2 of the twins
somehow even more tired then the other two
has he even slept?
his room is somehow the cleanest? its still a mess though
the reason Kokichi drinks monster
him and Chiaki shared a room for a little bit but their stuff started to overlap a bit
if he makes new characters they'll subconsciously be modeled off of his siblings
uses Chihiro as a reference a lot
he draws imposter a lot, his sibling's tease him for it
he falls asleep drawing a lot of the time
he’ll draw stuff for his siblings but they have to repay him with doing his chores or something (again IOU cards are VERY important)
doesn't mind watching cartoons with Kokichi
has a commissions page where he’ll draw pretty much anything except for  nsfw (cuz he’s a minor duh)
Kokichi
youngest kid
his room is the messiest
he has caution tape and a keep out sign on his bedroom door
he gets teased for having a crush on Shuichi by them all
Kokichi has claustrophobia  (get it bcuz hydraulic press)
Kokichi has been stabbed twice by Ryota with his digital art pen both times where him calling imposter names
Kokichi has a bit of a caffeine addiction usually substituting food with panta or monster
the least tired out of all the siblings but he falls asleep in class a lot
out of all of them people make fun of him for “not being as talented as his siblings” but he's pretty good at scaring them away (his older siblings will pummel them)
he of course has a l*ing problem he's working on it though
he likes cartoons more then anime unlike his siblings
his favorite cartoon is Mao Mao, Heroes of Pure Heart  or Villianous you can fight me on this
the only one who doesn't make money yet

Can you please do a scenario where Shuichi is dying and Kaede does everything in her power to save him, but ultimately fails he spends his final moments in a lot of pain? Bonus if Kaede indirectly lead to Shuichi’s death. Not really killed him herself, but she’s the main reason he’s in his position.
First request!! I’m still just getting back into writing, so there may be some mistakes. The setting is up to you, but it’s either post-game or in a non-game AU. I hope this is to your liking, anon. :)
It’s quite long, so I put it under a cut!
I’m Sorry I Couldn’t Save You (Saimatsu)
TW: character death, lots of pain (emotional and physical), probably inaccurate medical stuff (what, do I look like a human doctor to you?)
Shuichi had never really been a fan of hiking. It was always too hot, or there were too many bugs, or he got tired too fast, or some imagined predator would scare him back to civilization. His mind was always able to find some excuse to turn back, to return to the cool air and safety of their shared apartment.
Kaede, however, was stubborn as a mule and a master at talking him into situations he’d rather have no part in. It’s my birthday, she’d begged, doe-eyed and pouting, I’ve always wanted to go hiking. I don’t have anyone else to go with. That last bit was a lie, but he’d caved in to her demands anyways. He never could resist her.
That was how he’d ended up at a nearby trail, hat settled firmly on his head and a rucksack full of supplies on his back. Kaede sported a triumphant grin, squeezing his (admittedly sweaty) hand as they prepared to start their trek.
“Come on, Shuichi, this’ll be fun,” she insists, starting to tug him along. Although embarrassed at the contact, he doesn’t fight it, plodding alongside her with all the enthusiasm of a wet dish rag.
“I’m sure it will be,” he replies. He’s not sure if it’s to appease her or to reassure himself, but it sounds like the right thing to say either way. She seems satisfied with the response, and they fall into a steady pace as they make their way up the trail.
The atmosphere around them is calm, peaceful, quiet aside from the chirping of birds and Kaede’s gentle humming. She looks so content, and suddenly Shuichi doesn’t care that it’s too bright outside, that it’s too hot under his hat, that the pack is getting heavy on his back, that they’re slowly getting farther from the nearest town. Kaede is joyful and practically bouncing on her feet and still holding his hand, and that’s all he can bring himself to care about.
He listens as she points out the birds and squirrels that cross their path, the flowers she thinks are pretty, the trees she wishes she could climb. Occasionally, she pulls him to the side to examine a butterfly or a pretty beetle, and though he doesn’t want to be out longer than they have to, he doesn’t mind the little pauses, the moments where she grips his hand just a little tighter as she pulls him to her side.
They reach the marked halfway point, and Kaede pauses to awe at the beautiful valley below them. She releases his hand, and Shuichi doesn’t tell her that he misses the warmth as he watches her pull out her phone. She snaps a few photos of the view, then turns to him with a bright grin.
“Here, let me take your picture.”
The words throw him off guard, and he’s left stammering for a response. She giggles, reddening his cheeks further.
“Come on, please? I promise I won’t post it, I just want a picture of you,” she pleads, batting her lashes in a way she knows he’ll give in to. And he does, sighing in resignation as he averts his gaze.
“Alright, fine.” His voice wavers against his wishes, but Kaede doesn’t seem to care, perking up immediately with a little squeal of joy.
“Yay, thank you! Okay, I guess you should stand here?” She guides him closer to the edge of the path, squeezing his arm reassuringly when she notices his apprehensive gaze.
“Don’t worry, you’re fine, just don’t move too far back.” She takes a step back towards the path, studying him. Lifting her phone, she instructs him to smile. He obliges, tipping his hat back and flashing a shy grin. He feels a bit awkward, and he hates having his picture taken, but maybe he doesn’t mind as long as she’s the one behind the camera.
“Okay,” she says when she’s finished, lowering the device and skipping towards him, “now one of us!” She slides into place beside him, casually throwing an arm around his shoulder and pulling him against her side. His mind freezes momentarily, and he can feel his face heating up at the sudden close proximity. He forces his thoughts back to the present moment just as she raises her phone, trying to find a good angle. She grins, and she doesn’t even need to remind him this time as he flashes the camera a sheepish smile. She snaps a few pictures and then lowers the phone. Quickly, she presses a chaste kiss to his cheek before pulling away.
He feels his entire chest heat up, breath catching in his throat. The sudden release of his shoulders causes him to stumble, and he tries to find footing behind him.
He doesn’t have time to react. His heart drops to his stomach as his foot finds nothing but air. He blindly reaches out for something, anything, to hold on to, but he’s left flailing wildly as he falls backwards.
The first impact as he falls forces a strangled yelp from his throat, tears burning his eyes as pain shoots through his back to his extremities. The next impact hurts even more, and so it continues, each one stinging more than the last until he finally blacks out.
The first thing he registers when he wakes up is pain. His whole body burns with it, and the sudden force of it all causes him to gasp. The motion sends a stabbing pain through his chest, and he lets out a low whine, his breathing shallow.
He doesn’t even attempt to open his eyes until he hears a frantic voice crying his name, accompanied by footsteps and the skidding of rocks. The sound is unfocused, fuzzy, and he tries to push back the pounding of his skull as he attempts to open his eyes. The sunlight stings, and he squints at his surroundings as he tries to take them in.
He’s laying mostly on his side, facing a wall of rock and dirt. If he shifts his gaze a bit, he can see bushes and other small plants. Something on his head is warm. He starts to move his head, and his vision darkens as the pain returns tenfold. He whines, immediately squeezing his eyes shut in an attempt to make it stop.
The whine is quickly followed by the same voice repeating his name, more urgently this time. He can’t seem to remember who it is, but it’s so familiar. He responds immediately to the voice, letting out a high whimper. The footsteps speed up, and through the haze of pain he can hear them growing closer.
“Shuichi? Oh my god, Shuichi!” The footsteps skid to a halt behind him, and he can hear how heavy her breathing is. He winces as a gentle hand is placed on his shoulder, a soft noise rising from him.
“Shuichi, can you hear me?” He groans in response, his mouth unable to form a proper response. He hears what is either a sigh or a sob, but his fuzzy mind can’t figure out which. “Oh thank god, you’re awake, you’re alive, you’re-” The words turn into a choked sob.
“I’m gonna take off the bag and turn you over, okay?” The voice is shaky but kind, and he lets out a small sound in acknowledgement. He feels the pressure on his shoulders being relieved, the weight against his back disappearing. The hand that had been on him slips to his upper back, just below the base of his neck, and the other moves to the front of his shoulder, applying a gentle pressure as she rolls him onto his back.
The movement sends a sharp pain through his chest, and the strangled gasp that escapes his throat quickly turns into a sob. He can hear the voice apologizing repeatedly, smoothing their hand over his shoulder in an attempt to soothe him. One hand reaches up, tenderly brushing the hair from his face. It feels sticky, and he can’t think well enough to wonder why.
“Oh, Shuichi, I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry,” the voice sobs. The hand presses against his cheek - gently, as if terrified to hurt him further. He forces himself to breathe shakily through the pain, wishing it would subside quicker. As soon as it’s back at a manageable level, he cracks one eye open, squinting at the light before adding another.
It takes a moment for his brain to realize who the girl above him is, and he doesn’t even register the whimper slipping past his lips.
“Kaede-” His voice is pitiful, pleading. Pleading for what? For her to help him? For her to take his pain away? Her thumb rubs his cheek, wiping away the tears that are starting to build.
“I know, I know, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.” The hands pull away as she sits back, turning her attention to their bag. “I’m gonna call for help, okay? Just hang in there. You’ll be okay, okay?”
He closes his eyes, listening to her search for her phone. He breathes shallowly through the pain, his chest burning with each inhale and exhale.
After a few moments, he hears a groan. Another moment passes, followed by a frustrated cry. He can hear Kaede’s breathing quicken, her voice shaking as she holds back tears.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, this can’t be happening......” Shuichi pries his eyes open, glancing over at his companion. She’s frantic, pulling at her hair with one hand as the other holds her phone. She’s biting her lip, tears sliding down her cheeks, her face flushed with panic and frustration. The cycle of quiet and panic continues until she’s at her breaking point, letting out a sharp cry as she throws her phone in the bag. She hangs her head, her hands grasping tightly at her hair, allowing herself to fall apart for a moment.
It hurts him to watch, especially knowing that he can’t move to comfort her. His voice is low and strained as he speaks her name, but it makes her jolt noticeably, her head shooting up to look at him. Guilt washes over her features, and she quickly moves over to his side to soothe him.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, there’s no signal down here,” she sobs. Her hand rubs his shoulder in a feeble attempt to calm him, but that doesn’t stop the panic that shoots through him.
No signal. No help. He’s going to die here, scared and hurting and-
He’s jolted from his thoughts as she slips her hand behind his shoulder. She’s wiped the tears from her face, and she looks like she’s trying hard to stay strong.
“Shuichi, you’re going to have to move. I’m going to get us back to the trail and out of here, okay? This is going to hurt, but I can’t call for help and I’m not leaving you here alone.” She pauses, allowing him to take in her words. Her hand smooths over his shoulder, hoping to keep him calm. “I’m going to start sitting you up, okay?” She waits for him to give her a pained nod, then starts to move. She shifts towards his head, both of her hands moving to his shoulders. Slowly, trying to be as gentle as possible, she starts to lift his torso, moving him to a seated position.
If he was hurting before, he can’t even fathom what threshold of pain he just crossed. His chest burns, the pain shooting through his body as he gasps for breath. Kaede doesn’t move her hands from his shoulders even after he’s sitting, rubbing her thumbs over the cloth of his shirt and muttering reassurances. Once his breathing becomes less ragged, she shifts.
“We’re gonna try to stand, okay?” Shuichi feels panic run through him, knowing how much this will hurt. He knows he doesn’t have another choice, though. He doesn’t want to die here. He feels himself nod.
Kaede is quiet for a moment, and one hand disappears from his shoulder. He hears the rustling of their bag, and he figures Kaede has put it on herself. After a moment, the hand returns to his shoulders, gently pressing against him.
“Ready?” He forces himself to nod, and he feels her arms slip under his armpits, starting to lift him up. It strains the ache in his ribs, and he instinctively cries out, tears burning in his eyes.
“I know,” she says, trying to soothe him. “I know, I know, I’m sorry.” She remains steady and strong behind him, lifting him to his feet. As soon as he’s mostly upright, she wraps one arm around him, the other hand guiding his arm around her shoulders. He’s gasping for breath, sobbing through the pain in his ribs. It’s getting harder and harder to breathe, and the realization of this causes panic to shoot down his spine. His shallow breathing grows rapid, and the tears begin to fall, dampening his shirt and the dirt below him. Kaede’s free hand finds his shirt, pressing against him to try and soothe his panic.
“Kae- I can’t- I can-” He hardly manages to push out the words before a cough bubbles up his throat. The force of it burns his chest and his throat, and he sobs as he inhales. Another one tears at his throat, and they continue to come until he can hardly catch a breath between them. He vaguely registers Kaede starting to panic, and he feels himself being lowered back to the ground. The pain shoots back through him as he sits, his back propped up against the wall of rock. Once he’s settled, Kaede removes her bag, digging around before pulling out a bottle of water.
“Hey, okay, breathe, Shuichi, can you do that? Just breathe for me.” He feels a hand on him, rubbing his shoulder gently. He tries to do as instructed, forcing back the rising coughs and drawing in a shaky breath. Light coughing pushes its way through as he exhales, but it starts to calm down enough that breathing doesn’t feel like a fight. He’s exhausted now, though, the exertion taking whatever energy he might’ve had. He becomes acutely aware of the taste of iron on his tongue.
“Here, drink some of this, okay?” He feels the rim of the bottle pressing against his lips, and he parts them, swallowing the water that pours out as Kaede tips the bottle back. The cool liquid helps soothe his throat some, but it’s not long before he coughs again, spilling some on his shirt. Kaede is quick to pull the bottle away, screwing the lid back on and putting it back in the bag. Shuichi gazes at her through teary eyes, his vision becoming fuzzy. Kaede is watching him, looking worried and scared and thoughtful, and he accepts the moment of silence as she thinks.
“I’m gonna go back up the trail,” she says slowly, sounding for the first time uncertain with her decision, “and see if I can catch a signal up there. You stay here and rest, okay?” He feels himself nodding slowly, though the movement hardly registers. His eyelids flutter.
“I’ll be right back, okay? I won’t be long. Just hang in there for me.” Her hand presses gently against his shoulder, soothing and warm. He wishes she didn’t have to go.
“I’m going to leave this here. Just in case you need anything from it.” He vaguely registers a weight against his side, and he figures it’s their bag.
A hand brushes his hair from his face, and soft lips press against his forehead. He’d be embarrassed if he weren’t about to pass out.
“I love you, Shuichi. You’ll be okay. Just hang in there.” Her voice is distant, foggy, and he exhales slowly as his eyes fall shut. His ribs still ache, pain hitting him with every shallow breath, but her words bring enough warmth to soothe him momentarily.
And just like that, her warmth is gone, her footsteps retreating as she runs back towards the trail. He feels himself falling, darkness clouding his thoughts, until he falls unconscious once more.
When Kaede finally returns, paramedics in tow, she’s quick to rush to his side, her eyes scanning over him to make sure he’s okay. She glances over the blood dried on his head, the red staining his right side, the scrapes and bruises decorating his arms and legs.
The last thing she notices is how still his chest is. Her heart drops, and her whole body goes cold. Without thinking, her hands find his shoulders, squeezing them worriedly, before sliding up to his cheeks. She cups his face, tears blurring her vision as she sobs, pleading with him to wake up, to open his eyes, to do anything at all.
Choked sobs turn into hysterical crying as an EMT pulls her away, giving the other paramedics room to examine the bloodied boy. Her chest feels so tight that she thinks she’s going to burst, and she screams as if that’s going to relieve the pressure. She can’t bear to think that Shuichi, her Shuichi, is gone, dead, that she’d left him to suffer his painful fate alone.
That final thought is what breaks her. He died alone. No one there to comfort him, to hold his hand, to wipe his tears and hold him close as he passed.
She was supposed to be there for him through thick and thin, through sickness and in health. And she’d failed him.

Carving Pumpkins-KBTBB
Halloween Countdown-Day 15
Prologue: A short snippet of MC and the bidders spending a simple day together carving pumpkins…..but is anything ever simple with the bidders?
Eisuke: “Eisuke,” MC sighed, “You know I would have been happy with an average pumpkin when I suggested we should carve some together right?” They were standing outside in the courtyard of the Tres Spades, watching professional pumpkin carvers carve the world’s largest pumpkin. Although she was hardly surprised by Eisuke’s antics, MC still had to admit she was impressed that he somehow managed to buy the pumpkin, and have it delivered to the hotel as quickly as he did. Eisuke folded his arms across his chest and smirked. “My woman deserves only the best.” MC rested her head on his shoulder, and Eisuke pulled her closer into him. “Thank you Eisuke,” she happily said. Eisuke nodded, and the two continued to watch the creation progress before their eyes.
Soryu: “My pumpkin is bigger than yours!” Ryosuke claimed in triumphant. “No, it’s not!” Samejima snapped back at his rival. Soryu had caught everyone off guard when he suggested the Ice Dragons take the day to have a relaxing get together, so they were spending the day at headquarters carving pumpkins. “Both of you shut up already,” Soryu snapped, before turning his attention back to MC. He stuck a candle on the inside and lit a match so they could check out their finished pumpkin. “I love it Soryu,” MC cheered and clapped her hands together. The pair had carved a cute kitten, and Soryu softly smiled at her. “I’m glad you’re happy MC,” he admitted, “Our kitten is cute, and that reminds me of you.” MC kissed her boyfriend’s blushing cheek, before they went to decorate the rest of the office for Halloween.
Ota: “Ota, that looks amazing,” MC exclaimed in admiration while she examined the pumpkin. Ota told her she couldn’t peek until he had finished carving, and he had finally finished his masterpiece. A beautifully detailed dog was carved onto the surface, and MC couldn’t believe how realistic it looked. “Well of course it does,” Ota responded smugly, “Afterall, I had the best model right here to work from.” She was too busy scowling at his comment, to notice that Ota had now turned the pumpkin around. MC’s eyes widened when she realized what he was now showing her. “I was obviously talking about you being the perfect model for this bluebird,” he gestured towards the second carving he made on the opposite side of the pumpkin. “You may be my Koro, but you are also the bluebird in my life, that always inspires me to do my best. I wouldn’t have any motivation if it weren’t for you.” His sweet words brought tears to her eyes, and he handed her his handkerchief. “Dogs don’t cry Koro!” Ota teased and stuck out his tongue at her. MC rolled her eyes, but she wouldn’t prefer Ota to act any other way.
Baba: “Great job princess,” Baba praised MC for her carving job. MC groaned in frustration while she was glaring at her misshapen hack job on the pumpkin. She knew Baba was only trying to make her feel better, but she couldn’t help but feel disappointment considering she butchered their only pumpkin. “I’m sorry Baba,” she responded dejectedly, “I’ll go buy a new one tomorrow, and I promise I won’t touch that one.” Baba grabbed her arms and rested his forehead on hers. “But this is the perfect pumpkin for me,” Baba reassured his sulky girlfriend, “The person I love more than anything made it for me.” Baba suddenly had an idea and excused himself before rushing out of the room. He came back with a bouquet of flowers and put them right in the middle of the pumpkin. “There! Now it’s perfect! I get to admire these beautiful flowers that remind me of you, and the creation you made,” Baba sweetly declared. Nuzzling against her, MC silently gave thanks for being so fortunate to have a man this wonderful in her life.
Mamoru: “What a pain,” Mamoru grumbled, “This is such a childish thing to do.” Despite his complaining, Mamoru was following MC’s instructions on how to carve the pumpkin. “Just admit that you’re having fun,” MC beamed. He had just finished carving the design, and MC had begun her role of decorating the pumpkin. She finally finished, and MC was proud of their work. Mamoru had carved a spider web, and MC had glued on a fake web, along with some plastic spiders. “Mamoru, what do you think of-,” she couldn’t quite finish her question, because she caught Mamoru with his phone pointed at her. Seeing the grin creep onto her face, Mamoru’s face turned red, and he tried to justify the situation. “It’s not what it looks like!” Mamoru embarrassingly exclaimed, trying to cover up the fact that he was taking a picture of her with the pumpkin. She nodded her head, but deep down knew he was full of it, and she couldn’t love him more for it.
Hikaru: “Hey idiot! I thought I told you to wait for me,” Hikaru yelled when he saw MC attempting to carve the pumpkin. MC had been struggling to stick the knife in the pumpkin, and Hikaru raced over before she ended up hurting herself. “Here let me help,” he ordered as he stood close behind her. MC blushed when she felt his hot breath on the back of her neck, and his large hands covered hers. Together, Hikaru helped MC make the first cut, and they worked cohesively to finish their creation. “Thanks, Hikaru,” MC praised him, “I really think it turned out perfectly. I couldn’t have done it without you.” “I only helped so you wouldn’t cut yourself,” Hikaru shyly muttered under his breath. “Idiot,” MC said before kissing him, “You’re not a very good liar Hikaru.” He started to tickle her, and the two were soon chasing each other around, enjoying every second of their playful time together.
Luke: “Um, Luke? What is that exactly supposed to be?” MC questioned as her boyfriend continued to carve away at the pumpkin. She had a feeling she already knew the answer to her question, but she decided to ask him anyway. Luke turned his attention away from the pumpkin and shot her a startled look. “Don’t you recognize this Sexy Bones?” He held up an x-ray he had been using as a reference. “Your collar bones of course,” Luke confidently told her. “Well, at least a pumpkin with a carving of bones, won’t stand out in a doctor’s office,” she sighed in relief. Luke’s face suddenly turned dark, and he frowned disapprovingly. “This is MY pumpkin! No one else gets to see your collar bones but me,” he sadly pouted. MC’s heart broke when she saw how sad he was about the thought. Wanting to make him feel better, she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Let’s keep it in our bedroom then,” she proposed. He smiled at the suggestion and nodded his head in approval. “Great idea! We’ll call it Sexy Bones Jr.,” Luke happily hummed before skipping off with the pumpkin into the bedroom.
Shuichi: “I really don’t think carving a pumpkin needs to be so complicated,” MC said while watching her boyfriend skim through articles on pumpkin carving. Shuichi had insisted on researching through different techniques to find the perfect one, before they could even begin. “If I’m being required to engage in this silly activity, then I need to make sure we are at least doing this right,” Shuichi sighed. MC knew they would be here all day if he got his way. Acting on an impulse, MC grabbed the knife and stuck it straight into the pumpkin. Shuichi gasped, and ran over to assess the potential damage. “What do you think you are doing?” Shuichi yelled, wondering if MC had lost her mind. “You need to relax,” MC scolded the uptight man, “Let’s just have fun and carve something on an instinct.” Very reluctantly, Shuichi followed her lead, and soon they had made a scene of ghosts floating around in a graveyard. “I have to admit that was more fun than even I anticipated,” Shuichi grinned, “Thank you for always bringing out the best in me.” He leaned in for a kiss, and MC made a note to plan more activities that would bring out this soft side of Shuichi more often.
Rhion: “It’s the only pumpkin in the world that’s fit for Wonderland,” Rhion boasted. Rhion and MC had managed to carve out a decent looking copy of his cat Cheshire. Cheshire had been sitting on the chair nearby and gave a meow of approval. Rhion placed their pumpkin at the center of the table and poured some tea for the both of them. “This is great Alice,” he chattered in excitement, “We managed to create the perfect centerpiece for the tea party tomorrow!” MC drank her tea, and soon felt Rhion’s presence behind her. “Though this may be the perfect decoration, the real focus tomorrow will be your beauty,” he whispered in her ear. Blushing, she turned around to see Rhion’s grinning face staring at her. “I can’t wait to see what other creations we make here together in Wonderland,” he suggestively stated. MC didn’t care what he meant, realizing she would get lost with him in Wonderland anytime.

A Little Jealousy Never Hurt Nobody (Saiouma)
Pregame Saiouma “I’m not jealous! It’s just... you’re mine!” from the Romantic/Fluff Starters list for Anon! I’m sorry this took me a while to get done; school started last week and I’m already drowning in homework and a whole lot of stress. It also did take me a while to figure out where exactly to take this, so there’s that.
I hope you like it and let me know if you would like anything changed/edited! :D
*Based off of this request*
Title: A Little Jealously Never Hurt Nobody
Prompt: “I’m not jealous! It’s just...you’re mine!”
Summary:  Two months after getting together, Shuichi and Kokichi go on their first date. It doesn’t go as bad as Kokichi thought it would.
One-Shot Notes: Pregame AU where Kokichi has transferred to Shuichi’s school; I kinda toned Shuichi’s “psychoness” down a bit for the purposes of this one-shot
*If you like what I do, please consider supporting me on my Ko-fi! It would be greatly appreciated!*
One-shot is under the cut!
Kokichi couldn’t believe his ears.
“A...date?” he asked.
Shuichi nodded his head excitedly.
“We haven’t been on one yet, right? So, I figured that this weekend would be a good time to do so.” he explained.
“I see...” Kokichi trailed off.
“So, what do you think?” Shuichi gripped the sides of Kokichi’s desk and he leaned in towards him. “Will you be free this weekend so that we can go on a date?” he asked.
Kokichi’s cheeks flushed bright red as he stared into Shuichi’s golden eyes, which were usually hidden under the brim of his cap.
He’s so close, he thought to himself.
“Uh...aren’t you a little too close, Saihara-kun...?” Kokichi squeaked out.
“Hm?” Shuichi tilted his head to the side in confusion. “But, we’re a couple, Ouma-kun. Being this close is quite normal, you know.” he pointed out.
“Is it really...?” Kokichi murmured out.
This may be my first time in a relationship, but I can tell for sure that we’re not supposed to be close like this at all times, he thought to himself.
Kokichi tried to distract himself from the way Shuichi’s breath was mingling with his own by changing the subject.
“I’m pretty sure I’m not doing anything this weekend, so we can go on our...date.” Kokichi said.
“Really?! Great!” Shuichi reached out and clasped Kokichi’s hands. “It’s a date, then!” he chirped.
Kokichi’s heart skipped a beat at the warmth of Shuichi’s hands on his own. Shuichi released his hands as he looked down at the watch on his wrist.
“Ah, I need to get going! I need to talk to the teacher about something, so we can’t walk home together today.” Shuichi grabbed for his items. “I’ll text you the details later tonight. I’ll see you tomorrow!” Shuichi called out over his shoulder as he dashed out of the classroom.
“Ah! See you then, Saihara-kun!” Kokichi responded as he watched Shuichi leave.
He then released a loud sigh, slumping over his desk.
“That made my heart race a little too much...” he trailed off.
He slowly sat back up, placing a hand over his racing heart.
Please stop racing so much, he thought to himself.
He stood up and grabbed for his things, packing them away into his school bag. As he left the classroom, he began to think about their date.
“Our first date, huh...” he muttered under his breath.
As much as he wanted to be happy that they were going to finally be going on a date, he couldn’t help but feel concerned about what they might do that day.
Shuichi was a total Danganronpa fanatic and everything for him seemed to revolve around the popular show. His phone case, the charms that dangled from his phone, his lock screen, the posters that hung on the walls of his bedroom, even three quarters of his casual wear was Danganronpa-related.
Kokichi, on the other hand, wasn’t a fan of the show at all. As a matter of fact, he couldn’t stand it. No matter how he tried to rationalize it, he just couldn’t understand how people could enjoy watching a show where high school students were forced to kill each other.
Shuichi made him watch an episode of the cursed show one day and Kokichi had to excuse himself to the bathroom so that he could hurl into the toilet, thoroughly disgusted by the gruesome scene that played out on the television screen.
It was truly a wonder that he was dating Shuichi, let alone have actually developed feelings for him.
He exited the school grounds and walked to the station, bringing his bottom lip in between his teeth.
I have a really bad feeling about what our first date is going to be like, he thought to himself.
💜💜💜💜
Kokichi looked up at the amusement park that they arrived at with wide eyes, a mix of surprise and fear swirling around in them as the word Monokumaland jumped out at him.
I knew it...!
He looked around, taking note of the Monobear-themed entrance into the park.
I had a feeling he was going to drag me here, knowing his obsession with Danganronpa, he thought to himself.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by Shuichi taking his hand.
“Okay, I almost thought I forgot the tickets at home, but they were actually in the back pocket of my jeans.” he began to pull Kokichi in the direction of the ticket booth. “Come on, let’s go!” he declared.
“Y-Yeah...” Kokichi replied.
He swallowed as he looked at what Shuichi decided to wear, which was a purple shirt that had the Ultimate Detective, Kyouko Kirigiri, on it along with jeans that had a Monobear eye iron-on patch on it, and black Converse.
As expected of a Danganronpa fanatic coming to this theme park, he thought to himself.
After giving their tickets to the attendant, they entered the park and headed toward the directory board.
“So, what ride do you want to go on first?” Shuichi asked.
“What ride do I want to to go on first?” Kokichi parroted.
“Yeah! Choose a ride that interests you!” Shuichi chirped.
“I see...” Kokichi trailed off.
He looked up at the directory board, examining the pictures of the rides. He then reached out and pointed at one.
“How about this one, then?” he asked.
Shuichi’s eyes followed Kokichi’s finger up to the attraction he had pointed at.
“The Chainsaw Coaster? Ah, that’s based off of Miho’s execution from the twenty-second season!” Shuichi looked at Kokichi. “Are you sure that’s the one you want to go on?” he asked.
“Yeah, I’m sure!” Kokichi replied.
Honestly, I just chose a random ride. I don’t know what it is that I actually want to ride, he thought to himself.
“Well, if you insist.” Shuichi began to pull Kokichi in the direction of the ride. “Then, let’s get going! The line’ll get long if we continue to stand here.” he told him.
As they made their way through the crowd, Kokichi looked down at their interlocked hands. A blush began to spread across his cheeks and he couldn’t help feeling giddy.
We’re holding hands...this really does feel like a date, he thought to himself.
💜💜💜💜
After riding on the tea cups and buying some ice cream at a booth, the two of them sat down on a bench in front of the Ferris Wheel (or the Mono Wheel, according to the sign).
“Ouma-kun, are you sure all you want to eat is ice cream?” Shuichi asked.
“Yeah! I was beginning to crave ice cream, anyway, so this is fine.” Kokichi explained.
He then looked down at the ice cream bar Shuichi bought him, which was in the shape of Monobear’s face.
Although I’m not sure how I feel about how it’s shaped, he thought to himself as he licked the vanilla side of the bar. He bit off the ear and began to roll the ice cream around in his mouth as Shuichi gasped suddenly, his eyes wide.
“Saihara-kun?!” Kokichi nearly choked on his ice cream upon hearing Shuichi gasp. “What’s wrong?! Did something happen?!” he asked, concern flashing across his face.
“Oh my gosh...her shirt looks so amazing!” Shuichi gushed, golden eyes sparkling with excitement.
Kokichi followed Shuichi’s gaze and immediately frowned upon seeing that Shuichi was talking about a girl who had on a Kirigiri shirt.
Of course that would be the reason why he gasped like that. Why should I even be surprised, he asked himself.
He watched as Shuichi stood up.
“I’m going to go talk to her. You wait right here, alright?” he said.
“Huh? But—“ Shuichi ran off before Kokichi could finish his sentence.
And there he goes, leaving me by myself, he thought to himself.
He watched Shuichi approach the girl and sooner or later, the two of them began to engage in an extensive conversation, both of them laughing and gushing over god knows what.
Watching the scene made Kokichi annoyed. Something bitter filled him as he continued to lick his ice cream.
Look at him, being all giggly with her. Like he didn’t come here on a date with his boyfriend and instead came by himself, he thought to himself.
He licked at his ice cream angrily as he watched them watching something on Shuichi’s phone. He then looked over at the Ferris Wheel, sighing.
The more I’m looking at that Ferris Wheel, the more I want to go on it...when does he plan on wrapping up that conversation, anyway, he asked himself.
He looked back over at Shuichi and the girl only to see them exchanging numbers. He gawked at the scene.
Wait, wait, they’re exchanging numbers?! For real, he asked himself.
Annoyance and anger bubbled up from within him as he watched them.
I don’t like this. I don’t like this at all, he thought to himself.
After finishing his ice cream, he stood and made his way over to Shuichi. Upon approaching him, he grabbed for the hem of his shirt and tugged on it.
“Um...Saihara-kun...?” he said.
“Oh, Ouma-kun!” Shuichi turned to look at him. “What’s up?” he asked.
“Uh...” Kokichi pointed at the Ferris Wheel. “I want to go on the Ferris Wheel...” he trailed off.
“Oh, alright. Let’s go, then.” Shuichi looked back at the girl. “I’m gonna have to go now. I’ll message you later on Line, Minamoto-san!” he said as they turned to leave.
Kokichi looked back over his shoulder at Minamoto, glaring at her before looping his arm around Shuichi’s and nuzzling his cheek against it. He swore he felt Shuichi stiffen, but decided against it as they got in line for the Ferris Wheel. He looked to see Minamoto’s expression, which filled him with a sense of satisfaction.
Heh, serves her right. She shouldn’t be so close to a taken man, anyway. Saihara-chan’s mine, he thought to himself.
They got onto the Ferris Wheel a few minutes and the ride began its descent upward. Kokichi looked outside, watching as they got higher and higher.
“Wow...we’re so high up...” he trailed off.
“Yeah, we sure are.” Shuichi commented, looking outside as well.
Silence fell over them soon after. Kokichi looked away from the window and he glanced at Shuichi, who had his elbow propped up on the back of the seat and his cheek pressed against his palm as he continued to stare outside. He began to twiddle with his thumbs, wondering how to break the silence.
What should I say, exactly, he wondered to himself.
As he settled on a topic, Shuichi broke the silence.
“So, Ouma-kun, that was quite a show you put on for Minamoto-san back there.” he commented.
“H-Huh?” Kokichi nearly choked on his spit at Shuichi’s words.
Shuichi turned his head away from the window to look at Kokichi, a sly grin dancing across his lips.
“Were you jealous, Ouma-kun?” he asked.
“What?! Jealous?!” Kokichi squeaked out, a furious red blush appearing on his cheeks.
Was that what that feeling was? I’ve never felt jealous before, so I was confused about why I felt really annoyed, he thought to himself.
“Yeah, jealous.” the grin on Shuichi’s lips only grew wider. “So, were you?” he asked.
“That...I’m not jealous! It’s just...you’re mine! And I just don’t like it when you talk with other people so happily, especially if they’re girls! We’re on a date together and I want your eyes to be on me and only me and—“ Kokichi stopped, watching as a blank expression fell over Shuichi’s face.
Uh...Saihara-kun...?” he called out.
Why is he staring at me like that, he asked himself.
It seemed like centuries before Shuichi’s expression changed, his eyes sparkling with glee.
“Ouma-kun...this is the first time I’ve ever heard you be so open about your feelings for me!” he exclaimed.
“It is?!” Kokichi questioned in surprise, watching as Shuichi reached out and clasped his hands in his own.
“It is!” Shuichi chirped as he pulled Kokichi forward.
The cabin began to sway a little back and forth, causing Kokichi to let out a yelp.
“Eeep, Saihara-kun! The cabin’s shaking...!” he squeaked out.
Shuichi said nothing as Kokichi fell onto his lap, his legs straddling Shuichi’s and his hands moving to place themselves on Shuichi’s shoulders.
Kokichi swallowed, his heart pounding loudly in his ears as he looked down at Shuichi, whose cheeks had taken on a bright shade of red.
“Saihara-kun...” he trailed off.
“I love it when you’re honest with me, Ouma-kun.” Shuichi’s hand moved to settle on Kokichi’s hip. “It makes me veeeeeeery happy.” he said.
The pounding in Kokichi’s ears only grew louder as Shuichi massaged his hip with his thumb, causing his breath to hitch.
“If I had to make you jealous just so you can tell me that I’m yours again and again, I’d gladly do it.” Shuichi spoke in a low, husky voice as he leaned in towards Kokichi.
Kokichi’s heart nearly leapt out of his chest as the blush spread up to his ears.
“S-Saihara-kun...we can’t, what if someone sees us...?” he asked.
“Let them see.” Shuichi pulled them even closer, their bodies pressing together and their breaths mingling with one another. “And also, it’s okay to call me by my first name. I’ll do the same,” their noses brushed against each other, “Kokichi.” he purred.
Shivers coursed down Kokichi’s spine. He liked how his name rolled off Shuichi’s tongue.
He could definitely get used to having Shuichi call him by his first name.
“Shuichi—“ Shuichi closed the distance before he could continue.
Kokichi instantly melted, eyes sliding shut as he lost himself in the sensation of Shuichi’s lips moving against his own. He sank into Shuichi’s embrace, a small sound escaping his lips as Shuichi nipped at his bottom lip playfully.
Dammit, he loved how Shuichi kissed him.
He threw caution to the wind as he kissed back just as fervently.
Shuichi was right. What the hell did it matter if someone saw them making out in the cabin of a Ferris Wheel?
His kisses were just that good.
And if acting jealous was going to make Shuichi kiss him so passionately, then he’d gladly do it over and over again.
Besides, a little jealousy never hurt nobody.

Love Across the Universe
Tumblr media
So life after DR looks....................... interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Going into this was so weird and for a moment I couldn’t figure out why. And then I remembered that because I had ended up spending a good chunk of the game as Shuichi, I had forgotten that this scene was originally presented to us from Kaede’s POV - which makes this very interesting. We never got to see Shuichi’s thoughts before Rantaro died and Kaede was found as the culprit - before he went through an incredibly traumatizing event and ended up reliving his worst nightmare. With just a limited ‘before’ picture, it’s pretty easy to treat Shuichi’s thoughts as his de facto state when they’re.... really.... not, even during the quieter moments. What will his voice will be like in this scenario? It’ll be nice to even get a bit of insight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WAIT
I thought they didn’t remember the actual kidnapping itself - did they?
Is this a blend of pre and post first flashback light? Am I reading entirely too into this??? Probably tbh but still -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He did wake up with the uniform on so yeah, post-talents, but...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
......... This is an incredibly condensed version. Shuichi’s giving us a narrative flashback then?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’M TALKING TO KAEDE AS SHUICHI THIS IS WEEEEEIRD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gonna be honest I liked it better when most of you were dead
Tumblr media
Shuichi still looks to Kaede for some leadership, of course. That hasn't changed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeeeeeees Shuichi thoughts on the prologue give me moooooore
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AAAAAH EVERYONE IS HERE!!! ;A;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, this is post-flashback light, so.... Tsumugi is probably feigning fright. Maybe? This is supposed to echo the pre-light scene, which lends some weight to the theory that she’s playing up her reaction both times. However, seeing as she was exposed to the original flashback/blackout light everyone else was, wouldn't she be experiencing all of this for the first time too? Is there a chance the first round was genuine? Hell, could this be genuine, because having a giant mecha with guns on their arms jump in your face is a solid 10/10 on the intimidating list?
Tumblr media
HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO NOT GO LASER-FOCUSED ON ALL THE TSUMUGI LINES HERE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The whole team is back together though.... Ghgh. I remember this part vaguely...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Talk about establishing character traits quickly. 8′) This was a pretty great intro as far as showing what everyone is like, quickly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had Maki and Kaito bouncing off of each other this early too...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YOU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOLY HELL I FORGOT HOW MUCH I MISSED YOU IN THE GAME
He was just so collected and aware....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.... I feel like this joke was a lot more drawn-out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.......................... I have to know how they're going to handwave this. He decided to cancel it?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Birds of a feather and all of that
Tumblr media
GGGH GODDAMN, OKAY
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.... okay once again all the Monokid antics are kinda dragging things along but this was admittedly funny
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is really, really hard to miss all of the jokes about the truth of the world once you’re on the other side. Like, damn. I feel like they were probably a lot more blatant than I realize in the game, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rantaro stop being such a leader, damn.
Seriously this is 100% why he had to go, huh. I could see him swinging the protagonist or rival role in the last game.... or even an investigative role. He just has enough of all three traits - smart, taking charge, lone wolf, etc - that he’d be a complete stage-stealer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aaaaaw, thanks -
Tumblr media
.... uh -
Tumblr media
Oh
Tumblr media
O h .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY
Is it because of how blatant he’s being about it
How they’re not even hiding the show aspect anymore
Is it because Monokuma looked at a class including Miu, Kokichi and Korekiyo and said, ‘yup! These guys would be perfect for a dating show rather than the original killing game I planned!’
Tumblr media
Kaito out of everyone here you will have the least problems in getting someone interested in you.
I guess the difficulty comes in him not being oblivious to it w h o o p s
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
IS THIS SERIOUSLY ‘DATE OR DIE’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
....... It’s true but it’s still not great AND YOU STILL KIDNAPPED THEM AND ARE COERCING THEM TO -
Wait
Would Kaito still have his illness in this universe??? Doesn’t that mean he’s going to die anyway????? Or would this mean he was given it in the first or second chapter?! HEY MONOKUMA -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘Also I’ve planted a life-threatening illness in one of you. No spoilers, though!’
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
......... Would this potentially mean that this could have happened ahead of the actual killing game, and none of the kids got with each other which resulted in the killing game actually happening which actually makes this ‘Life before DR -’
That was the premise of DR1′s bonus mode if I remember correctly. Huh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘So Shuichi here are 15 love keys. HAVE FUN!’
.... Also, uh. K1-b0 exists, so wouldn't they be watching through him? Guess that’s something they wouldn't want to bring up here...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You really put the ‘ace’ in ‘space’, huh.”
Okay, just normal instructions from here. Dating tickets, FTE, etc... seems easy enough. Time to finally unlock all the bonus stuff!
Tumblr media
P-Please don’t put it that way...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And look at this picture, redesigned with Shuichi at the helm of it all!
I’m just going to take a moment to appreciate how poorly he’s taking the whole dating show with his inner dialogue lmao
same though

Day 3 - Bed Sharing - Non Despair AU
@oumota-events  we made it to the final day!
February was typically a cold month but Kaito had never had a problem with getting out of bed during it despite the cold. He had always heard his friends complain about how hard it was to leave the warmth of their beds during the winter months unable to get up and start the day.
That had never been quite the problem for Kaito; there were always so many things to do in the day, always so many things waiting to be accomplished. It always seemed like it would be such a waste to spend the whole day in bed.
That’s why usually on any other given day; Kaito would have been up before anyone else already making himself breakfast and preparing for his morning jog. Today though it was already midway through when most people were having breakfast and Kaito still couldn’t find himself able to get up.
The cold February air seemed chillier than ever and with the heat of another body next to him the bed he was in had never felt so warm.
Kaito couldn’t decide if it was him putting the talk he knows they should be having off that has him so reluctant to get out of bed and move, if he makes a movement to start a new day that means that they’ll both have to acknowledge what happened last night. He knows they should talk about it, sort things out, decide where things go from here or at least make sure that things aren’t too awkward between them in the future. But another part of him doesn’t want to move on, doesn’t want, whatever it is that happened to end. He just wants to stay here in this moment just the two of them.
The bed in the hotel that they both ended up in is soft and warmer and more comforting that any bed Kaito has ever been in, he’s partly treasuring the silence, one of the few moment of peace and quiet that happens with the person Kaito’s currently sharing his bed with. The other boy’s brilliant mind is probably reeling just as much as Kaito’s is, basking in this strange comforting after glow, as if something he hadn’t known was missing was finally in place like the final piece has fallen into place and the puzzle suddenly looks like a whole new picture.
Kaito knows he should be feeling shock, he is in a way, and his mind almost can’t seem to admit that any of this is real, that any of this happened. There should be shock and regret and disbelief and there is in a way. But all the other emotions are quieted down to the point of non-existence by the feeling of how *right* this is.
The two of them, in this bed together, keeping each other warm on a cold February morning.
The strange spell of disbelief and trying to reason it all into something that makes sense finally breaks on the beds other occupant and Ouma Kokichi moves to sit up and just like that last night became the new day, they had to start it and face what they did.
With a sign Kaito also sits up in the bed as well suppressing the small shudder he wants to let out at relinquishing the blankets warmth.
Though the strange stillness that had trapped them in a moment of realization ever since the door closed, had ended they both stood frozen contemplating what happened last night, what they both did.
Eventually Kokichi spoke “well,” he started carefully, the smile slowly stretching on his lips almost bordering on malicious. The tone of his voice was joking but couldn’t quite hide the undertones of panic which Kaito wasn’t sure was because of the situation they had found themselves in or because Kaito had just gotten that good at reading between the lines of Kokichi’s ever action with all the years they had known each other. There was a almost a playful glint in his eyes mixed in with something that might have been fear: fear over what they just did? Fear over what the others might say if they found out? Fear of Kaito or of himself? Kaito couldn’t say, resigning himself to simply listening to whatever words were going to come out of Kokichi’s mouth.
“Well, I’ve certainly never done *that* with *you* before,”
If someone had told Kaito back in his early days of Hopes Peak that he would one day come to consider Ouma Kokichi as one of his closest friends he would have laughed in their face, or at the very least he would have told them to stop messing around.
But that is what had happened, somehow or another the little liar had become one of the people he trusted most and one of the people he cared most about, if through nothing else but constant exposure.
Their relationship back in Hopes Peak had been one of rivalry if he had to put a label on it. Or at least that’s how Kaito would have described it. Whenever he thought back to his high school days other than the time he spent with his sidekicks his most vivid memories were chasing Kokichi around the school, trying to stop his mischief or trying to get him to apologize for one thing or another.
Their first year had been nothing but aimless chases to the point that Kaito would think that Kokichi was simply letting Kaito think he was chasing him, letting him get just close enough, letting him catch just enough of a glance of him before disappearing just out of his grasp.
In their second year though, a miracle seemed to happen where Kaito finally caught the little liar off guard and managed to grab and catch him. The disbelief and indignation on the smaller boys face had seemed to make all the aimless previous chases worth it and Kaito had only lost his grip on the other boy from laughing out loud at the outraged expression on Kokichi’s face.
From that point onward Kokichi seemed to have resolved to not let himself get caught again but Kaito’s own resolve had increased tenfold because if Kokichi could be caught once, then he could be caught again and he was right. As time went on Kaito became better at chasing and catching Kokichi learning how to read which way he would move and where he would hide. By the time they had both graduated Hopes Peak Kaito would swear up and down that the number of times he’d caught Kokichi and the number of times Kokichi got away from him were equal.
Even now they were still tied.
Just before they had graduated Kokichi had told Kaito they wouldn’t see each other again, a statement that Kaito had guessed to being a lie. In the end it turned out that he had been right when he saw Kokichi on the same University campus as him all the way over in America.
At first Kaito had endeavored just to ignore him, he was social and made friends quickly but Kokichi had kept showing up wherever he went, probably for the familiarity. That was why Kaito had put up with Kokichi during their first year of University after all. Despite easily making new friends there was something comforting about having someone he knew around, someone who understood where he came from and someone he could have conversation in Japanese with.
That’s the only reason Kaito could think of when he somehow made Kokichi a steady part of his life, Kokichi was the only one from Hopes Peak there with him after all so Kaito couldn’t be blamed if he had eventually started just hanging around Kokichi rather than Kokichi butting in on his own outings and he also couldn’t be blamed if he and Kokichi had become roommates in their third year of University. They knew each other and it was cheaper after all.
When University ended and both Kaito and Kokichi moved back to Japan, though to this day Kaito is still not sure what Kokichi studied, the other either having changed their major at least six time or had ended up with at least four degrees. Kaito had been quick to reconnect with his sidekicks almost as soon as he landed in Japan.
They had been waiting for him at the airport and he was glad that they had stayed together, Himiko was part of their group now forming a little trio with them and the small magician was right there with them to greet him surprising Kaito that it wasn’t just him and Kokichi who had gotten close after Hopes Peak.
The look of the three of their faces when Kokichi had walked up right along side Kaito was certainly something though. But after a slightly awkward car ride from the airport the trio that Kaito had once formed with his sidekicks had evolved into a group of five.
After that though Kaito and Kokichi still continued to spend time with each other, even though Kaito had gotten his sidekicks back and Iruma had suddenly appeared around Kokichi again. Having Kokichi around even with his old friends available again had been… nice. He was too familiar with Kokichi at this point to simply cut him out of his life and it was good to have someone with the same flow of time as him.
With all his astronaut training and briefings and missions to go to space it sometimes felt as though Kaito’s life on earth and with his friends were constantly put on pause while the others moved on without him and he’d come back to find things ever so slightly different than when he had left due to the day to day that he had not been there for.
Kokichi, surprisingly was an actor now and a famous one at that, was the only one who’s life had as much comings and goings at Kaito having to constantly go off out of town or out of the country for some filming or premier or interview or having to change his sleep schedule in order to fit whatever kind of scenes needed to be taken care of. Just like Kaito the lives of the others would move on without Kokichi until he came back to insert himself there.
With Kokichi it barely felt like Kaito had missed anything and acting was… good for him at least Kaito thought so. Kokichi was finally putting his over dramatic nature and ability to show whatever expression he needed to and make people feel what he wanted them to, to good use in a way that actually helped people. Even Kaito had to admit the movies Kokichi had been part of were good.
It might have been one night where he, Kokichi, Maki, Shuichi and Himiko were all sprawled around various different places in Kokichi’s living room watching one of Kokichi’s movies while listening to him make fun of his co stars that Kaito realized that Kokichi had become a solid part of his life and he continued to be even through every crazy thing that happened to them, like when Kaede had suddenly shown up at a coffee shop they all liked to hang out in, the first time they had seen her since Hopes Peak in a wedding dress and as a runaway bride.
Kaede ended up joining the group, moving in with Maki and Himiko to get back on her feet and Tenko ended up becoming part of their lives again as well. Having stayed close to Kaede after graduating bringing their group up to seven. It was weird how all of them fit together both practically still the same as they were in Hopes Peak and having changed so much. Kaede and Shuichi ended up re-exploring their almost relationship from all the way back from their high school years leading to and on again off again relationship that was making even Kaito tired of it but all their bumps in the road eventually led to a proposal and a wedding.
The practice wedding was great; Kaito was seeing old friends he hadn’t seen since high school that was until Kokichi started making jokes about marriage as a concept and Iruma had to open her big mouth.
“Oh shut up you little twink, you’re just saying that because no one in their right mind would marry you!” a completely smashed Iruma yelled across the table despite Kiibo and Gonta trying to calm her down and stop her from causing a scene much to the inventors own protests.
“I can’t believe I’m agreeing with her but I can’t exactly see anyone wanting to spend the rest of their life with you.” Maki noted stirring her cocktail and looking a bit tipsy herself.
There was a moment of silence from Kokichi before he scrunched up his face in mock anger turning away, “whatever! Marriage is for chumps anyway, like I’d ever want to get married!” Kokichi stated matter-of-factually before downing his drink and getting up to leave.
“Good because there’s no one around crazy enough to propose to you!” Iruma called after him, tripping over herself and barely being caught by Gonta in time.
The others continued on with their conversations as Kiibo tried to get Iruma to drink water; this was just another interaction with Iruma and Kokichi being… themselves. Though maybe it was simply because of how long Kaito had known Kokichi but it was impossible for him not to notice the slight tinge of hurt underneath Kokichi’s words and Kaito’s legs were already moving to follow him before the astronaut even knew what he was doing.
‘This is what happens when everyone drinks’, Kaito thought to himself with a sigh ‘any chance of a peaceful night goes out the window.’
He found Kokichi on a balcony just outside overlooking the view, “the stars are really clear tonight,” Kaito noted announcing his presence as Kokichi tended to respond better when he could tell people were coming Kaito’s voice sounding obviously pleased as his eyes picked out the constellations.
“Oh course Kai-chan would be happy about something like that,” Kokichi noted dismissively before groaning “you owe me so many hours of my life back for all those ‘stargazing’ events you’ve dragged me to”
“Hey those were great! Stargazing is an excellent way to spend a night” Kaito defended remembering all the times he’d dragged his telescope to the top of his and Kokichi’s apartment building back in university and dragged Kokichi along with him. Kokichi left Kaito’s defense with a scoff and an eye roll though. “Please, Friday night and doing nothing but stargazing? Talk about sad,”
“Hey you were there and you had fun too!” Kaito yelled before falling silent feeling a bit awkward as he remembered why Kokichi came out here in the first place, sighing while he rubbed the back of his neck.
“Don’t worry about those guys, they’ve had too much to drink they don’t know what they’re saying-“ Kaito began before Kokichi put up a hand to wave away his words dismissively.
“No they have a point, I mean half the time I don’t even want to spend the rest of my life with me so why would anyone else right?” Kokichi joked as Kaito tilted his head to the side to give the other a confused look.
“What are you talking about, you’re already going to be around for the rest of my life,” Kaito noted and Kokichi froze in the middle of his movements giving Kaito a shocked and confused look.
“Huh?”
“Well yeah! It’s like now with Shūichi and Kaede your friends are always going to be there for you. I can’t really imagine my life without you there to form some kind of chaos and you’ve got to be there for things like my own wedding and other big events,” Kaito said as he grinned as he have Kokichi a thumbs up, “don’t do running off on me yet there’s still a whole lot more everyone’s got to see me accomplish!” Kaito promised, as movement seemed to return to Kokichi.
Kokichi’s expression was unreadable for a fraction of a second for it fell into a slightly fond grin “Ha! As if Kaito hasn’t already peaked!” Kokichi joked while Kaito spluttered at the insult not having been prepared for it.
“Hey I’m only getting started!” Kaito yelled as Kokichi laughed and gave him a playful shove.
“Whatever space cowboy I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you do next then if you insist on having me in your life,” Kokichi said dismissively and dramatically as though it was a favor Kokichi was begrudgingly giving Kaito a favor. Kaito prepared to yell at him but Kokichi was already running back inside a mischievous grin on his face from having teased him.
Kaito wasn’t expecting to see Kokichi again that night but he later found him wondering around the halls on the floor of the hotel where everyone’s rooms were.
“Hey Kokichi what are you up to?” Kaito called grabbing Kokichi’s attention; as soon as Kokichi caught sight of him he grinned and help up a large bottle of champagne shaking it slightly in presentation.
“Grabbed this from the bar strawberry champagne, it reminded me of Himiko-chan so I wanted to see if I could get her drunk,” Kokichi explained with a grin as Kaito sighed.
“Don’t get Himiko drunk man, besides she went off with Angie somewhere,” Kaito told him and at the information Kokichi deflated slightly as he realized he wouldn’t be able to perform any mischief in what was left of the night.
“Well damn what am I supposed to do with this then?” Kokichi complained giving the bottle a scrutinizing glare before he turned his attention back to Kaito with a raised eyebrow, “do you want to drink it with me?”
“I’m getting married today! Woo!” Shuichi yelled in excitement clearly beside himself with joy as he burst into Kaito’s hotel room.
“…Morning Shuichi,” Kaito greeted from his bed taking care that only his top half was visible, an arm placed carefully over the covers to make sure everything on the right side of the bed was hidden.
“I’m getting married! Today!” Shuichi repeated in excitement clearly building himself up, the scene made it so that Kaito couldn’t stop the slightly fond smile on his face from forming at his sidekick’s excitement, he’d come so far from that shy detective that would hide behind a hat back in Hopes Peak.
“Yeah you are!” Kaito encouraged, though he made sure to stay still, still conscious about the position of the covers and blankets.
“Woo hoo!” Shuichi called as he exited the room probably to express his excitement to Maki or someone else.
Despite how happy he was for Shuichi, he couldn’t help but sigh in relief as the door shut behind him leaving him alone… well not quite alone, Kaito thought as Kokichi pushed off the covers he had been hiding under with a slight look of panic in his eyes.
“Do you think he knew I was here!?”
They didn’t talk about it afterwards, they tried to, kind of, but every attempt only led to panicked discussions that never got them everywhere until they didn’t have time to talk as they had to get ready to help with the wedding.
They ended up walking down the aisle at the start of the ceremony side by side, Kaito as the best man and Kokichi as one of Kaede’s bridesmaids. As they fell into line with each other Kaito suddenly realized how much they would be paired closely together this wedding from the various queues and seating plans.
It hadn’t felt like much of a big deal at the time but now Kaito was painfully aware of Kokichi’s presence and where he was, how close he was more than ever.
“… what we did last night was…” Kaito tried whispering as they walked down the aisle together as the wedding ceremony began, unable to hold in the conversation they should have had the moment they realized what they did.
“stupid,” Kokichi finished voice filled in agreement a slight laugh at the disbelief over what had happened.
“Yeah, I mean… totally... crazy! Stupid…” Kaito agreed a slight laugh of his own as Kokichi nodded along.
“What were we thinking?” Kokichi continued looking tempted to shake his head at their actions but not wanting to give away to the other wedding patrons that anything was wrong.
“… I’m coming over tonight though right?” Kaito couldn’t help but ask and there was a moment of silence before Kokichi answered.
“Oh yeah definitely”

Hello hello! Could I get NDRV3 boys finding out someone has Hanahaki disease for them? Angsty or happy ending, either way ^^
Hey there!! I wasn’t exactly sure how to write this, but I tried my bestest, so here you go!
(Also uh…this imagine brought out my writer brain, so I made things all long and poetic again. Time to banish it under the cut!)
Tumblr media
~Mod Angie
(P.S: I did a kind of pattern with happy and angsty endings here, so if anyone wants to see this imagine done with that pattern reversed, feel free to ask!)
V3 boys finding out someone has Hanahaki disease for them!
Shuichi Saihara:
-It’d been fine at first. It’d been fine.
-Shuichi was a sort of acquaintance of yours. He wasn’t quite a friend, but he definitely wasn’t a stranger.
-You two got along just fine.
-Then you started feeling this strong ache in your chest.
-The next thing you knew, after you parted ways one day, you felt this odd build-up in your throat and coughed lightly to get rid of it.
-A few flower petals fell from your mouth.
-At first this was manageable. You were able to keep it together enough to hide it while he was around.
-However, he was a detective.
-He did find out.
-He’s quite worried for you, honestly!
-He confronts you about this out of concern.
-Once you realize that he knows, you get nervous and fall victim to a coughing fit, needing to double over lest you collapse.
-Oh lord there were petals everywhere.
-Shuichi rushes to your side, holding onto your shoulder with one hand and resting his other against your back, reminding you to breathe.
-After the fit passes, it’s silent for a moment.
-He asks who you have this for, and you admit that it’s for him.
-Another moment of silence.
-He apologizes, and suggests that you invest in a surgery. He’ll even give you money to help pay for it.
-Crushed, you gag slightly on some more of those cursed petals, and thank him for his kindness.
-The surgery is a success, and you don’t need to deal with those suffocating flowers anymore.
-You two try to keep in touch, but eventually you drift apart and don’t speak to each other anymore.
-It’s mostly because he feels guilty, feeling like he’s responsible for the disease.
-As for you…you just can’t help but feel empty whenever you’re around him.
-Either way, you’ve turned into little more than strangers.
Rantaro Amami:
-You’ve been close with Rantaro for a while, having known each other for years.
-For the longest time you’ve seen him as nothing more than your best friend.
-You hadn’t seen this coming, not a mile away.
-You’d slowly begun to feel differently around Rantaro, but you hadn’t truly noticed until you were given a wake-up call by some flower petals.
-You were looking through some photos you’d taken with him on a trip when you felt a tickle in your throat.
-Nothing would make it go away–not trying to clear your throat, not drinking water, none of it.
-You resorted to coughing, and before you knew it, there were flower petals on your desk.
-Suddenly, it hit you.
-You’d fallen so badly for Rantaro that you’d developed Hanahaki disease.
-This would be fun. He was your best friend, it wasn’t like you could just start avoiding him.
-So you tried to tough through it, but the disease kept getting worse.
-Rantaro knew something was up with how you always looked so uncomfortable and even a little pained nowadays, so he confronts you about it one day.
-You could barely stand this anymore, and he was already on to you. You were desperate to make it stop, so might as well take the easy way out.
-You confess how you had Hanahaki disease, and it was for him.
-Rantaro pauses for a moment before smiling. He’d suspected as much.
-He walks over to you and put his hands on your shoulders, telling you that you don’t need to worry about that anymore.
-Because he loves you too.
-Truthfully, he had for a little while.
-He wished you told him sooner, though. Seeing you suffering wasn’t exactly pleasant!
-You giggle, already beginning to feel the tightness in your chest and throat lessening.
Kaito Momota:
-Kaito was incredible friend material, but no one thought he would be good boyfriend material.
-So someone developing Hanahaki disease for him?? Practically unthinkable!
-That is, until you came into the picture.
-He’d made a huge effort to socialize with everyone he could, so while you aren’t the closest person to him, you did know him somewhat well.
-You enjoyed watching his enthusiasm, at least.
-However, you slowly began to have a harder and harder time getting him off your mind.
-Finally, the petals came.
-It was a huge shock to you as you coughed them out. Why Kaito of all people?
-His smile, his laugh, his supportiveness, his energy, his passion…
-You were certain he wouldn’t return your feelings, so you were already looking for surgery.
-Before you could have the surgery, he finds out.
-Kaito had just finished up talking with some other students when he hears a hacking cough somewhere nearby.
-Wanting to make sure whoever was coughing was alright, he follows the sound.
-He ends up finding you, gasping for breath, truckloads of flower petals scattered around your feet.
-Kaito asks you if you’re okay. He’d heard some horrible coughing!
-You insist that you’re alright, but then another tightness seizes you and you start coughing again, more flower petals coming out.
-Kaito jolts, his concern skyrocketing. Whatever was up with you wasn’t normal.
-He’s seconds away from carrying you to the nurse’s office before you finally get to explain.
-You have Hanahaki disease for him, and you’re already going to go to the hospital to get it fixed.
-Hanahaki what?
-…Oh wait, that.
-He just gives you a reassuring, bright smile and tells you that it’s good you’re getting it sorted!
-He hopes the surgery goes well.
-Secretly, you were hoping for a more…fairytale ending.
-Still, his support is nice.
-The surgery goes fine, and the flower petals stop.
-Sure you aren’t attracted to Kaito anymore, but you still talk from time to time, mostly because he still wants to be friends.
-It’s a little bit rough for you sometimes considering what you’d gone through with the disease, but you do it for his sake.
-Besides, he is still a good friend!
Kokichi Ouma:
-Catching Hanahaki disease for Kokichi in particular is a huge mistake.
-Yet it still happened to you.
-You’d always found Kokichi’s antics to be more charming than annoying, and since he had no friends, you’d wanted to get to know him.
-You proved to be a fantastic partner in crime, and the two of you would throw banter back and forth all the time.
-No matter what, he could always get you to smile.
-Even when he was being a little demon.
-However, one day, after you two parted ways after raising some hell, you started coughing.
-You ended up having to double over because you were coughing so hard.
-No wonder. There were flower petals in your throat.
-Needless to say, this was alarming.
-Sure he’d playfully flirt with you every now and again, but you were certain that was nothing more than a teasing lie.
-Keeping this hidden from him would also be a challenge.
-So you try to arrange to have a surgery as fast as possible.
-Before you can, though, he notices something’s up.
-Kokichi notices all the tells that you’re hiding something, no matter how hard you try to act normal.
-So he asks you about it.
-When you dodge the question, he pouts and asks again.
-Then you get caught off-guard by a coughing fit.
-When the flower petals start coming out, everything clicks for Kokichi.
-Sure he’d been thinking you might have feelings for him, but everything makes so much more sense now.
-He makes you sit down and keeps a hand on your back, but other than that he doesn’t really show any kind of concern.
-He just teases you and jokes around–occasionally stopping to remind you to breathe–until the fit passes.
-When everything’s calmed down, he giggles about how overdramatic of a confession that was before saying that he loves you too.
-You’re in shock, saying how you never thought he’d return your feelings and how you were already trying to set up a surgery.
-He just latches onto your arm and demands that you call off the surgery.
-He’s gonna cure you better than any surgery could!
Korekiyo Shinguji:
-This one was doomed from the start.
-You knew that, he knew that, everyone knew that.
-It’s why it scared you so badly when your hanahaki disease appeared.
-But at the very least, it was over quick.
-You never really knew Korekiyo too well–in fact, no one did.
-He was always too odd.-Yet to you, he was strangely alluring.
-You’d talked to him a couple times, and he only became all the more charming to you.
-You’re in the library when the first petals appeared.
-You’re sitting through one of Korekiyo’s anthropology lectures that he’d sprung on you when your chest starts feeling tight.
-You start coughing, lightly at first, but it quickly grew heavier.
-You feel the first flower petal in your mouth and quickly excuse yourself.
-You dash outside, hand up to your mouth as you cough out a couple of flower petals.
-When the fit subsides, you stare at them in horror.
-There’d been whispers going around the school that Korekiyo already had a lover.
-You know that, yet these petals still appeared nonetheless.
-The library door opening startles you out of your thoughts.
-Korekiyo wants to make sure you were okay.
-You hide the flower petals behind your back, saying that you’re fine.
-He’s not fooled, and asks about what you’re hiding behind your back.
-You know this won’t end well already, so you might as well get it over with.
-You show him the flower petals.
-He immediately guesses that it’s hanahaki disease, and you confirm that.
-You tell him that you have it for him.
-He’s flattered, but he just shakes his head and confirms your suspicions.
-He already has a lover.
-He’s glad that he caught this when it was just starting, though. He wouldn’t want you to go through all this pain for him.
-You’re happy about that too.
-You get a surgery as soon as you can.
-After that, you and Korekiyo don’t talk much.
-Sometimes you miss that alluring pull you felt towards him, but it’s over now.
-No use in looking back.
Kiibo:
-This entire circumstance was odd.
-You? Getting hanahaki for a robot? There was no telling how this would turn out.
-You were, as Kiibo described it, the “least robophobic student in school.”
-So you were relatively good friends.
-Not anything special, he just liked being around you.
-The disease took you completely by surprise.
-Thankfully, he wasn’t around when the disease first appeared.
-You’d just been thinking about the next time the two of you were going to hang out when you felt a tight, slightly painful feeling in your chest.
-Next thing you knew, you were coughing up petals.
-You needed a moment to process this after the fit had passed.
-What brought this about?
-Was it Kiibo?
-…It was Kiibo wasn’t it?
-Oh no.
-You didn’t even know if he could feel romantic love.
-But still, you held out, maybe out of the hope that you’d be proved wrong.
-The disease kept getting worse, and Kiibo was obviously worried about how you’d been acting lately.
-Of course, eventually you couldn’t hide it anymore.
-You were discussing something with him when you suddenly got a familiar sharp pain in your chest.
-You excuse yourself and quickly flee the scene to hack up another round of flower petals.
-Kiibo’s worried enough to follow you.
-He catches you hacking up an entire flower.
-He panics immediately.
-He doesn’t know how to help at all!!! He’s never heard of this!!
-You try to pull yourself together, insisting through heavy, raw coughs that you’re fine.
-”You’re not fine!! You’re throwing up flowers!!”
-He frets over you, rubbing your back because that’s the only way he thinks he can really help.
-Eventually, things calm down.
-He demands that you explain what just happened.
-Defeated, you spill the beans.
-You have hanahaki disease for him–a disease that is born from unrequited love.
-Unrequited love?
-Kiibo takes a moment to think things over.
-He has been feeling different around you lately…lighter, maybe?
-Was that love?
-He suggests that you both try out being in love.
-After all, he does care deeply about you and doesn’t want you to be hurting this way!!
-It’s worth a shot.
-The disease lingers after you two start dating, but it eventually fades away into only a distant memory.
Gonta Gokuhara:
-When it comes to romantic feelings, Gonta’s a wildcard.
-Getting hanahaki disease for him means anything can happen.
-Good…and bad.
-Gonta was adorable, everyone agreed on that.
-He was super friendly, too! Trying his hardest to socialize, including trying to get to know you.
-He tried his hardest to be a respectful gentleman towards you, but he was such a genuine sweetheart!
-How could you not develop feelings for him?
-They came on very quick, and you were hacking up flower petals before leaving for school before you knew it.
-Gonta was gullible, you could easily hide it from him.
-Every time your symptoms started cropping up, you were able to make excuses that he’d easily believe.
-However, as your symptoms kept on getting worse, you lost the ability to brush things off.
-The secret comes out while you and Gonta walk together in the forest.
-Gonta wanted to find more bug friends, and invited you to accompany him.
-Your chest was throbbing dully from the affects of the disease, but you still agreed to go with him.
-As much as it hurt, you love being near him.
-This cost you your secret.
-While walking, you felt a suddenly agony in your chest and felt another surge of petals coming on.
-You try to make an excuse, but you can’t because you’re gagging on the petals and what feels like a full flower now.
-Gonta panics, scoops you up in his arms and runs to find you help as you start coughing up the petals.
-It’s just a huge scene and a big mess.
-While you’re busy vomiting up the flowers, someone explains the situation to Gonta.
-You have hanahaki disease, and apparently you really have it bad.
-After the person’s done explaining it to him they tell him that you just need a surgery to remove it or the person you have feelings for needs to reciprocate them, and you’ll be fine.
-He’s happy to know that this disease can be cured at least, but for now he’s still really worried about you!
-By the time the flower petals are out of your system, you’re breathless.
-Gonta sets you down against a tree so you can catch your breath easier.
-After you’ve recovered, he asks you who you’re so in love with that it’s hurting you like this!
-You sigh and confess that it’s him you love so much.
-Gonta immediately gets upset.
-He’s hurting you???
-You try to reassure him. No, it’s not his fault! You just really like him a lot.
-It’s clear that Gonta doesn’t feel the same way.
-He offers to try to go along with it anyway since he wants to ease your suffering so badly, but you turn him down.
-No, you’ll just get the surgery. You’ll be fine.
-After the surgery, Gonta gets more on-edge around you.
-He still feels upset that you were hurting because of him! Even if you tell him that it’s okay.
-Seeing him be uncomfortable around you tears you apart, but hey, at least you aren’t choking on flowers anymore.
-Still, the kicked puppy dog look he gets in his eyes when he sees you makes you wonder if it was worth it sometimes.
Ryoma Hoshi:
-Another one everyone suspected to be a lost cause.
-After all, Ryoma was so apathetic and carried a depressing feeling with him. No one thought he could ever love anyone.
-You proved them wrong.
-Ryoma was a little difficult to get along with at first.
-But you saw him all by himself and decided to keep him company!
-Eventually he warmed up to you, and things were alright.
-Nothing more than companions.
-For a while.
-You’d managed to convince him to play tennis with you, but you didn’t know how to play.
-So he taught you.
-Despite how hesitant he seemed at the start, you two had a lot of fun!
-However, you kept feeling this tightness grow in your chest, little by little.
-By the end of the day, it had become painful.
-You were quick to part ways with him, though you insisted you had fun. You just don’t feel well.
-It was probably something you ate.
-As you left, you started to cough.
-Flower petals passed your lips.
-You hadn’t even noticed your developing feelings for Ryoma, so this hit you like a truck.
-You didn’t want him to know about this, but at the same time you were very iffy about getting a surgery.
-Ryoma was quick to notice your odd behavior around him now, and started to think you finally realized how terrible he is.
-When that finally comes up in conversation one day, you reassure him that it’s not it!
-You just-
-Tightness.
-And you start coughing again.
-Everything clicks for Ryoma once he sees the petals.
-Of course that’s what it was. He was being selfish to think you hated him.
-Once the fit passes, he asks you if the flowers are for him.
-Defeated, you sigh and say that yes, you have the disease for him.
-He just shakes his head.
-He may be a horrible person, but the least he can do is cure your ailment.
-So he confesses.
-Truth be told, he loves you too.
-He didn’t really realize it until recently, but he feels like it was probably there for a while.
-You can barely believe this is happening.
-You cannot help but smile, and he reaches for your hand, promising to make sure you never feel that your love is unrequited ever again.

saimota prompt: warmth
it started snowing as i was writing this :0 is this a sign??
saimota / fluff / 2.8k / no despair / snow day
[AO3 link]
Shuichi woke up, bleary-eyed, to his phone buzzing repeatedly. It rattled to the edge of the table and almost fell off.
When he unlocked it, he found a dozen messages in their class group chat. Photos streamed in of Kaito, Maki, and Tenko on their morning run, wrapped up in scarves and big coats. The entire field was white with snow. Looking out the window, Shuichi saw snowflakes still gently falling past.
Kaito’s final message was a blurry candid of Maki, glaring at the camera. It said: ‘come to the park if u want ur butt kicked!!’
Grinning and rubbing sleep out of his eyes, Shuichi got up to find his gloves and boots.
*
The park was layered with at least four inches of snow. Students were coming out of their dorms dressed up in wintery clothes, buzzing to enjoy the rare snow day that was given. As Shuichi arrived, he spotted Kaito and a few other classmates rolling huge snowballs along the ground.
“Hey!” Kaito waved him over. He was wearing a beanie hat and mismatched gloves.
He greeted Gonta, Tenko, and Tsumugi, who were offering the giant snowballs to a twirling Angie. She claimed that she was going to build some beautiful, Atua-inspired snow statues, and Shuichi agreed he was looking forward to it.
Even Ryoma and Himiko were out, though half as energetic, they seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere. Rantaro was taking pictures of everyone for his blog, and Kiibo was barely able to move in the layers of jackets, coats, and fluffy scarves he was wearing.
“Shuichi!” Kaito jogged up to him. “When was the last time we had a snow day, huh? Let’s make the most of it!”
He smiled at his friend’s enthusiasm. “What do you have planned?”
“I thought we could a snowball fight with everyone later. And Kirumi said she was gonna bring hot fudge brownies for after!”
The idea of a mass-snowball fight made Shuichi a little nervous, but Kaito was obviously excited for it.
“Well…we can help Angie with her sculptures for now.”
“Alright!” Kaito threw him a thumbs up, then leaned an inch closer. “Oh, and watch out for Kokichi. Don’t let him sneak up behind you with any snow.”
Despite the cold, Kaito radiated warmth as he leaned in. He paused for a moment, holding a breath, skipping a heartbeat. He had to get this crush under control.
“I’ll keep an eye out.”
When Kaito returned to the others, Shuichi immediately missed that warmth. He must’ve shown something on his face, as nearby Rantaro waved his hand with a sly look. Shuichi flushed, shook his head, and went to take a walk around the park.
*
Some time later, Angie had crafted two lifelike snow-people with such detail in their features, Shuichi thought the falling snow was going to disfigure them in minutes. Gonta was in the middle of building a snow-beetle, which was a smooth lump of snow covered in leaves.
The rest of the group had shown; Kaede had a coffee in each hand, following Kirumi with her tray of brownies; Miu was barely dressed for autumn, visibly shivering, but seemed to be enjoying herself anyway; and Kiyo had settled on a bench with a book, content to watch.
Shuichi watched as Tenko became Kokichi’s first victim. He was sure that Tenko would’ve heard Kokichi’s snickering, as he crept up behind her with a handful of snow. But she was too focused on her conversation with Himiko.
Her high pitched ‘eek!’ made Shuichi jump out of his skin. Kokichi stuffed the snow down the back of her jacket and ran, cackling all the way. Tenko’s expression was scary as she gave chase.
“If she catches him, Ouma may die,” Kaito said solemnly.
Shuichi laughed. “I hope he’s fast, for our sake.”
They kept running, chasing, dodging between Angie’s sculptures and unsuspecting classmates. They were both fast, but Kokichi was starting to pant, while Tenko hadn’t broken a sweat. Kokichi slowed to a stop and brought his hands up.
“Wow Tenko, I’m sorry, okay? I’ll let you hit me with a snowball for free. Come on, make it a good one, and we’ll call it even?”
She stared him down, then gathered a nasty-looking snowball. Himiko turned away, muttering, “I can’t watch.” Rantaro grimaced but pulled up his camera.
Once the snowball was launched, Kokichi did an acrobatic dive-roll. Strategically placed behind him was Ryoma, like the Archduke Ferdinand, the snowball clocked him on the head, knocking his hat clean off.
By now, everyone was watching. Tenko’s eyes went from blazing fury, to pure terror.
Ryoma picked up his hat and brushed it off. “So that’s the game we’re playing…”
“R-Ryoma! That was, uh, totally an accident. I mean, Kokichi–”
There was no mercy left in the ex-Tennis player. He was ruthlessly quick, and his swing was strong enough to knock most people out. The snowball shot like a cold bullet, missing Tenko’s head by mere centimeters.
“I’ll give you five seconds to run.”
Everyone scattered.
*
The simple, fun snowball fight Kaito planned became much more like a war. The park was a battlefield of barricades and trenches, with three teams plotting their moves.
Before Shuichi could really pick a side, he’d been pulled behind a snow barricade by Kaede, with Tenko, Himiko, Tsumugi, Rantaro, and Angie. He saw Kaito duck behind the opposite side. The next time he saw him, it’d likely be in battle.
With Tenko scouting, Angie and Kaede drew up the plan of attack. Himiko would stay and supply the ammunition from the safe zone, with Tsumugi laying cover fire from a distance. He and Rantaro were the frontline (or ‘meat shields’, as Tenko explained), for the other girls to try and knock down the enemy lines.
Of course, they also had to distract the neutral team. Wandering in the no man’s land, Ryoma and Maki carried their weapons, ready to aim at the first thing that moved. Gonta stayed outside as well, apparently immune to snowballs.
“So I’ll go and try to convince Maki to join us, while you and Tenko go with Rantaro and Shuichi, and push as far across as you can. Destroy as much of their walls and ammo as you can, got it?”
Kaede made a convincing leader, and Shuichi found himself getting fired up. If he saw Kaito out there, he wasn’t going to hold back. Everyone pitched in to make a final batch of snowballs before they set out.
“Wait - do you hear that?” Tenko hushed everyone and peeked over their barricade. “Someone’s coming.”
Before they could ask who, a quiet voice called out. “I come in peace! Take me to your leader!”
“Get lost, Kokichi!”
“Aww, man. I have juicy secrets from the other side of the field, but I guess I’ll take them to Ryoma instead…”
“Deserter! Why are you even here?” Tenko hissed at him.
“Those guys didn’t give me an exciting role, so I’m snitching! Isn’t that obvious?”
Rantaro and Shuichi shared a glance. This couldn’t end well. The team looked between each other, ultimately falling to Kaede. She shrugged.
“Might as well hear what he’s got to say?”
“Yaaay!” He hopped over their defenses and planted himself among the team. “You guys are gonna need a lot more snowballs. Miu’s installing an automated snowball flinger inside Kiibo, and Kirumi’s gonna bribe Gonta with sweets.”
“Great. Now what are they actually planning?” Rantaro asked coolly.
Kokichi pouted. “Alright, one of those two things is true. I wasn’t listening to anything else Kaito was saying, so I have no idea what they’re planning!”
It took a full minute for Himiko to convince Tenko not to bury him alive, let alone raise her voice. Meanwhile, the others came up with a back-up plan to intercept Kirumi, and discussed what kind of tactics Kaito would come up with.
“Shuichi, you know him best - what’s his game?”
“Well I can’t say for sure…” Shuichi was thankful that the cold disguised his pink cheeks, “I think he’d make the first move. I mean- he’ll rely on aggressive maneuvers to catch us by surprise. We should be careful, even here.”
As he finished explaining, a hefty snowball cracked into the barricade behind him. Tsumugi yelped and Kokichi took off running with a laugh.
“Th-they’re coming! Remember your stations, people!” Tenko narrowly dodged another snowball as she peeked over the wall.
A battlecry tore across the field. Shuichi grinned, adrenaline pumping for the first time in a while.
*
Kaito charged over the trench, scanning his eyes across the park.  His team seemed to be following his plan for the most part, half splitting off to distract and recruit Gonta. The rest had begun their assault. He threw another snowball towards where the opposition were starting to react.
A head popped up near where the snowball impacted, a familiar hat searching for the source. He made a ‘come at me’ gesture at Shuichi, who stared blankly at him for a moment. Was that too far…?
Then Kibo and Miu’s flank chased the rest of Shuichi’s team out of their barricade, a series of shrieks and loud laughs turning the battlefield into chaos. Kaito lost track of Shuichi as he dodged a volley of attacks from both Maki and Angie. He was easily caught up in the spirit of competition, returning fire, and throwing some fighting talk.
As the two teams fought, snowballs were launched from every direction. The walls crumbled, Angie’s statues became fodder, and before long, it was every man for himself.
Gonta and Himiko retreated to build a safety igloo, defended viciously by Tenko. Korekiyo and Maki soon lost interest, and Kirumi was none too happy when Kaede came out with a bruise on her forehead. Ryoma remained undefeated.
Kaito was crouched behind a snow lump and cherishing the last of Kibo’s ammo stockpile. He was breathing hard, creating puffs of fog in the cold air. With all this running and messing around, he could barely feel the cold - if anything, the snow stopped him from overheating.
He heard a light laugh nearby. Footsteps crunching on the other side of his cover. Kaito grinned, scooped up a snowball, fully expecting Miu or Kokichi trying to get the drop on him.
“It won’t be that easy, y’know,” Kaito spun round, aiming his shot- “Shuichi?!”
The moment he hesitated, it was over. Shuichi was beaming with a pure happiness, throwing Kaito so off-guard, he earned a snowball to the face. He staggered, sputtering, throwing his snowball at Shuichi halfheartedly.
“I expected more from the Luminary of the Stars.”
“You-! What-, damn, Shuichi!” Kaito brushed snow out of his beard. “Is this how it ends? My sidekick turns against me?”
Shuichi tossed his snowball in the air and caught it. “Any last words?”
He was too giddy to respond. Shuichi’s shameless smile was so cute, long lashes resting on bright pink cheeks, sugary snow dusting his dark fringe. His eyes were alight with a surprise competitive streak.
“Wh-whaddaya say we team up? You and I can take out the rest, easy!”
Shuichi seemed to consider his request, rolling the snowball in his hands. Kaito put his hands up in surrender and took a couple hesitant steps towards him.
“Hey…Shuichi… We’d make a great pair, right?”
Kaito worried for a second when Shuichi’s gaze dropped, cheeks getting redder. He held his breath. When Shuichi looked back up, his eyes went wide.
“Behind you Kaito!”
In an instant, he turned around, finding Kokichi dual-wielding snowballs with a sinister grin. He ducked, throwing himself behind the snowbank. As he went, he grabbed Shuichi’s hand and pulled him with him. One of Kokichi’s shots flew over their heads.
Kaito squeezed Shuichi’s hand, their faces inches apart. “Knew you’d have my back! Now go and get that bastard.”
Shuichi nodded wordlessly, lingering in Kaito’s warmth for a moment longer.  He squeezed Kaito’s hand back in a rush of affection. Then Kaito stood up, waving his arms at Kokichi and yelling. His hand felt cold without Shuichi’s.
“Hey! Over heeere!”
Taking the signal, Shuichi made a dash for the flank.
*
Everyone was frozen and exhausted by mid-afternoon. They went back to the college common room, ushered by Kirumi’s promise of hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies. Scarves, hats, gloves, and boots were abandoned at the doorstep. Kibo spent five minutes unwrapping, and everyone’s skin was dusted pink after coming in from the cold. After some chilled out music, chatter, and sweets, eventually the group started dropping back to their own rooms.
Due to the limited supply of blankets, Kaito had absolutely insisted that Shuichi share a space, curled on the couch beside him. There was still a decent distance between them, but Shuichi felt himself leaning into Kaito’s ever-present warmth. Over time, the distance slimmed, but Shuichi was sure he hadn’t moved at all.
The room became a much smaller group of friends by evening. Shuichi was dozing, barely keeping himself awake; Kaito, Kaede, and Kokichi were arguing over music taste; Rantaro and Maki finished off the snacks, sharing glances when someone said something dumb.
When he woke up, Shuichi had no idea how long he’d been sleeping. His head was leaning on Kaito’s shoulder, a spot that was so warm, soft, and comfortable, that he didn’t want to move. Only when he realised where he was did he sit up, face flushing.
Shuichi became acutely aware of his space, of Rantaro and Maki catching his eyes, and Kokichi snickering from behind a cushion. The conversation carried on as normal, but Kaito was pretending he hadn’t noticed. He had to be.
He yawned dramatically, planning his escape. “Well, I should probably head back. I’m getting kinda tired…”
“How can you still be tired?” Kokichi frowned at him. “You’ve been asleep for three hours now.”
“It was like two minutes,” Maki interjected, saving Shuichi from a heart attack.
“Ah…all the more reason to call it a night…”
He stood up and said goodnight to everyone, missing Kaito’s blanket and body heat with a shiver down his spine.  Kaito was unusually quiet, only offering a smile and a nod as he left. Shuichi’s heart sank. It looked like he’d made things awkward between them now.
*
When Shuichi left the room, Rantaro threw a cushion at Kaito.
“Hey! What was that for?”
Rantaro rolled his eyes. “You spend all day giving him gooey eyes, he falls asleep on your shoulder, and you’re just gonna let him walk away like that?”
“You’re breaking my heart right now, Kaito,” Kokichi whined.
Kaito rubbed his temple, looking for Maki and Kaede for help. Maki shook her head and Kaede pointed at the door.
“Go on. Or I’ll never forgive you.”
He hesitated for a moment longer, then without looking back, he jumped up to follow Shuichi.
*
Footsteps filled the corridor but Shuichi didn’t dare turn around, until he heard his voice behind him.
“Shuichi.”
Kaito sounded a little more serious than his usual tone. Shuichi put on a sheepish smile.
“Hey. Sorry about earlier, that was pretty embarrassing…”
“It’s fine, man, I don’t mind,” Kaito gave him a thumbs up and a grin. “My shoulders’ always here for my sidekick.”
Shuichi didn’t meet his eyes. “Yeah… Thanks, Kaito. I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Alright!” His enthusiasm fell into the quiet corridor, creating an uneasy pause between them, before Shuichi turned to leave.
“Damn it– wait, Shuichi! I should be the one to know that communication is the most important thing in a team. Especially between friends.”
A breath caught in Shuichi’s throat. He waited for Kaito to continue, too nervous to reply, the heat of swirling emotions in his chest becoming sickly.
“So we should talk. Cuz you’re my best friend, and I wanna make sure everything’s good between us.”
“Everything’s fine.” His voice was quiet enough that Kaito almost missed it.
Kaito stepped towards him, concern on his face. “You sure?”
“Yeah. Why would anything be wrong?”
They held each other’s gaze for what felt like a minute. Kaito searched Shuichi for any hint of truth, for any reason he was keeping himself at a distance. Shuichi returned it with stubborn refusal. Kaito sighed.
“If you say so, then I trust you. I’m here for you if you need me, alright?”
Shuichi nodded, tearing his eyes away from the taller man. As soon as he figured out whatever he was feeling, he could talk to Kaito. For now…
“I had a lot of fun today, with you, and everyone else.”
“Yeah!” Kaito beamed, “It got kinda crazy, but hanging out with everyone was the best thing I could ask for. I’m, uh, really glad you had a good time.”
“Me too. Let’s do more stuff like that,” Shuichi mustered a smile to match Kaito’s.
“I’ll let you get some sleep. Message me if you need anything. See ya tomorrow for training!”
They parted ways - Shuichi spending the rest of the night thinking too hard, and Kaito going back to his room without facing the others. It snowed again during the night, but neither of them noticed.
[thanks for reading!! please like/reblog if u wanna, send me more prompts, oh my gosh, it’s 5am already, sorry for any mistakes]

So I was thinking about Kaede would have been like as the protagonist. (Her relationships and the way she develops in the story)
And I’ll say it now I actually really love Shuichi. He might be my favorite protagonist (him or Hajime). So yeah!
Warning: Spoilers!
Character:
What I liked about Kaede in the beginning of the game was that she was different from other protagonists. She was more confident, assertive, and stubborn. I noticed all the protagonists have issues with self esteem like Hajime with his lack of talent. Shuichi doubts his detective skills and fears facing the truth, and Komaru believing she’s just a regular normal girl who can’t do anything. Naegi didn’t think much of himself and his talent, thinking he was just a regular guy. They all overcome their insecurities through the story and become more confident by the end of it.
I don’t mind that type of character development but considering it was done three times before I was slightly disappointed after thinking about it a little bit.
Now where i’m going here is that Kaede wouldn’t have that type of development considering she’s more confident in herself.
I was thinking her optimism and trust in others could change as the story goes on. She starts off trying to be the leader but as more murders occur she starts having less faith in others, but be more realistic. (paralleling to her old self before the game and how she said she doesn’t have faith in humanity).
Not to say it’s a bad thing as long as you don’t drown yourself into paranoia, but I could see Kaede’s ideals of teamwork and friendship falling apart a bit in her mind as the game goes on and not be exactly the same by the end.
She would have thoughts on defeating the mastermind through the entire game. In chapter six, I can imagine her be like Keebo in a way and try to defeat the mastermind but not see the real mastermind, the world. It’s not until Shuichi or the other suriviors get her to realize they can’t follow the hope vs despair thing.
When it comes to her reaction to the fact her life is literally a lie, I would think she would show more anger and disbelief than Shuichi. She might breakdown even more considering she was trying so hard to lead everyone and solve all this for them but to find out everything she knows is a lie she might break down like Shuichi did.
In the end I think she would rise up and remember the memories made in the game to help her live her new life. Kaede’s development would how her becomes more jaded in a way in the game but in the end because of her new friends she can live life facing forward. So happy ending yay!
Relationships: (this is more toward main story relevant characters like Shuichi, Maki, Kaito, and Ouma) (some relationships may have more detail than others because these are ideas that just popped into my head)
Shuichi: I personally believe if Kaede lived longer Shuichi would have a little romance sideplot like Maki and Kaito so this is going a more romantic route. So this is hypothetically if Kaede didn’t try to murder the mastermind or if was no time limit on the first murder. I think Kaede would try to encourage Shuichi to be more confident and he slowly does thanks to her. It would sorta be like Kirigiri’s and Naegi with how they would work together to solve the mysteries. (In the end the relationships are different because they’re different people). Shuichi would notice how Kaede would get more jaded as the game went on as try to cheer her up and be by her side as her trusted partner. Basically they would try to support each other. If Shuichi were to die I think it could in Chapter 5 (because shit goes down in chapter 5). If he murders I can picture it be like Chiaki’s case where Ouma could try to save everyone with a different plan but it got foiled by the mastermind, they would manipulate it to cause Ouma and Shuichi to die (Shuichi murdering Ouma accidentally). Shuichi would tell her to lead everyone to the truth and thank her for encouraging the whole game,) giving her his hat, and Shuichi was about to tell her more but Monokuma would then execute him. If Shuichi is a surivor he would probably clash with Kaede in Chapter 6 about how to go about the reality. She would try to lead everyone to “hope” to defeat the mastermind but Shuichi would try to tell her that this is what the audience wants. They would basically argue about what to do exactly. In the end I think they would show a lot of support for each other and it would imply they would like each other. Personally I think their relationship had a lot of potential and it was really disappointing and I would love to see where it could have gone (romantic and friendship wise).
Maki: I honestly believe Kaede and Maki wouldn’t get along right away. Kaede would probably be more stubborn to get into her lab and she would be a bit suspicious of her for trying to hide her lab. While Maki would find Kaede annoying for getting into her business. When Maki’s secret get out, I think Kaede would be more cautious than Shuichi was. But it’s not until Kaito get him, Shuichi, Maki, and Kaede together to get Maki to open up she’ll see Maki in a new light. Since Maki would try to open herself to other people, she would try to make amends with Kaede and try to befriend her. I think this relationship would have been cute, like imagine them talking about their little crushes on Kaito and Shuichi. I remember when official art of Kaede and Maki was first out and I was excited to see what the relationship was going to be like but oh well.
Kaito: I find this relationship interesting with how he actually did interact with her before Kaede died. He would try to go to her first about Maki and try get Kaede to see she’s a good person despite her outer appearance. Since Him and Kaede were the most positive ones in the group so I can picture him fully supporting her and both of them try to encourage Maki and Shuichi. I feel like they would have that type of dynamic where they would tease each other a bit but they’re good friends.
Ouma: So my first thoughts go back to Ouma’s last words to Kaede. “Well, Kaede, you definitely weren’t boring.” To be honest, I think that’s high praise from him. In the game, everyone was just leaving Ouma alone and letting him do as he pleases until Chapter 5. I think because of Kaede’s ideas of working together she would actually try to understand Ouma from the get-go. He would think she’s interesting for trying to understand him but be cryptic with her. In a more lighthearted note, I think he would mess with her quite a bit because Kaede would have those type of reactions that would be entertaining to watch, like her trying to stand her ground. He could embarrass her about Shuichi and I always thought it be be funny if he would lowkey flirt with her and Shuichi to mess with them. In one fanfic I read, Kaede kabe-doned him to catch him but he motorboated her to get her to let go and I was laughing so hard at that.
So yeah these are all my random thoughts on Kaede being protagonist. Kaede has so much potential as a character, and it’s a shame it went to waste like this in my opinion. I think her personality could have added a lot to the dynamic between the characters. I could write a “Kaede lives” fanfic but I honestly don’t trust myself writing the trials and the investigations without messing it up. But thanks for reading if you made it this far. Sorry all of this was messy but I really needed to express my thoughts. Feel free to tell me your ideas or opinions.

V3 Yandere Boys
Note: Violence and mentions of blood/death under the cut.
Saihara Shuichi
He seemed innocent enough, at first. He appeared to be gentle and kind. Normally, he was very shy around most people but whenever he saw you, he’d do whatever it takes to get to you.
When he’d be around you, though, is when he’d start to shy away and hide his face under his hat whilst dropping his head.
He never quite knew what to say to you. Most of the time, instead of speaking to you, he’d admire you from a distance. He also liked to communicate from a distance as well, smiling at you from across the room, passing notes, or waving at you from the end of the hall.
It didn’t start to bother you until he started taking pictures.
He was discreet about it at first and it slipped under your radar more than once. This made you wonder how many photos did he have saved that you didn’t even know existed? Saihara would hide his phone in his sleeve and press the button on the side to take a photo, then store it away back in his sleeve.
This only lasted for a short time. He got more and more blatantly obvious about it as time went on, eventually he stopped taking the time to even hide his phone and sometimes posted the pictures he took onto social media, with his captions saying how attractive you looked and how much he loved you with hearts and kissing faces.
Through social media, he also discovered that you had feelings for someone else.
How could you do this to him? Didn’t you know how much he loved you?
Saihara would not accept this. He did all his research, extensively tracking this boy from your school. How long had you loved him?
It didn’t bother you until your crush stopped coming to school for a few days, which turned into weeks. He was filed as a missing person. You came to him and asked if he could use his Ultimate talent to find them, which only made him angry. You shouldn’t care about someone like that..!
Of course, luckily for Saihara, he was a detective and knew exactly what the police would be looking for, which made hiding the body a breeze.
He mentioned that very briefly and nonchalantly once, which sent chills all over your back and goosebumps down your arms. You didn’t fully understand what he was capable of, but it’s okay, because Saihara knew there was no one else standing in between you two, and would make sure it stays that way.
Ouma Kokichi
He didn’t get crushes often, nor did he ever feel the way he did about you. Something about you was different, though. The way your hair bounced and flowed behind you, the way you walked, the way your eyes shine in the sunlight.
Everything about you was breathtaking, and from the day he met you, he knew he needed to talk to you. He craved to make you his, and more importantly, he craved you.
He asked everyone who came in contact with you all about you, did his research online, and everything he could to learn every last detail there was to know. He went to extreme measures to find your old accounts on all forms of social media, and he wouldn’t be stopped by any means.
He liked to claim what he felt was his, so when he went around the school telling everyone how much he loved you and that you belonged to him, no one was particularly surprised. Those who questioned or corrected him would be met with fists and screams in their face.
“How could you EVER question mine and (S/O)-Chan’s love?!”
First, he got close with your classmates, and then your friends, and then he made his way to you.
When he finally started speaking to you, his heart felt like it was going to burst and he could hardly contain himself. You began to see him everywhere you went, whether he was invited or not, and whether you told him your whereabouts or not. He was always there.
He monitored your friends and made sure you stayed loyal to him. Eventually, that wasn’t enough, and he grew fiercely jealous of your friend group.
They’ve known you for so much longer, got to have so many experiences and made memories with you by now. They were so selfish, they’ve had enough time spent with you and it was his turn now. You were his, after all, in his mind at least. He was a leader, he knew how to control people. He’d discovered a party you decided to throw with only you and your group of close-knit friends, but none of them showed up. In fact, none of them had answered any of your texts either.Your doorbell rang and you sprang up, knowing it had to be one of them. Maybe they just wanted to scare you and they were going to show up later. But… when you opened the door, it was just the face of the boy who you noticed had been following you around town. Even more shocking was the fact that he was covered in blood.
Rantaro Amami
He was a naturally cool-headed person and it was easy for him to dismiss his true emotions. That all changed, though, the day he laid eyes on you.
No one has ever managed to make him sweat and his heart to race, he could feel each and every single one of its beats hitting the inside of his chest and echoing throughout his body.
He could easily approach you and did his best to not stutter. The way you talked, the way you moved your hands and brushed past him all made him even more giddy. He wished he wasn’t acting too strange and that you wouldn’t think he’s weird.
You began to see him in places you shouldn’t. Like, he’d coincidentally meet you in a grocery store, or in classes you didn’t have together. It only got alarming when you saw him on a walk once, in your neighborhood. You asked if he lived close by, and his face turned pale and his hands were shaking, butt he forced out a “Y-yes…”
You could tell when he was lying. If so, why was he in your neighborhood? There were so many coincidences all close together with him, it was a little bit strange.
Secretly, he only wanted to spend time with you. He loved you, and he knew you loved him back. It could be considered an unhealthy obsession, but he didn’t care, he’d never loved someone so hard.
He cut out your yearbook photo and blew it up, lighting candles around it and making a shrine in his bedroom. He also began collecting things. A pencil you’d lend him, the wrapper of the gum that you chewed, he even stole one of your bracelets that you sat on your desk very briefly, stealing it away from you when you weren’t looking.
He cared so deeply about you.
That’s why he got intense and angry when you opened up to him and told him you didn’t feel that way about him.
He tensed and he didn’t want to scream at you or hurt you, but it only got worse when you told him how you were already seeing someone else. The way he said, “Who?!” was a little bit frightening because this wasn’t the calm Amami you knew.
Then, he insisted that he’d ‘take care of this.’ Which, you had no clue what that meant, but you couldn’t stop him when he stormed off.
The next time you saw him, he’d been carrying around something behind his back and walking along the wall. You couldn’t see it, but you thought it could be a kitchen knife. Why was he carrying a knife?
It made a little bit more sense when the boy you were interested in ended up in a ditch.
Kiibo
He had no idea he could even feel this way, he was a robot and that should be impossible, robots don’t feel emotions. Certainly not ones as strong as what he was feeling right now.
The robotic equivalent to blushing was their systems overheating, and his entire body felt as hot as fire. It was a strange thing, something he thought he’d never have to feel and yet, here he was.
He doesn’t realize that it’s a romantic feeling at first, since he’s not used to these types of emotions. It takes him a while to begin to obsess over you as well.
More than once he caused himself to crash just from excitement or nervousness when he was around you. It got to the point where you had to tell him to cool down and relax, which hurt just a little bit. But, at least you were talking to him.
Since he’s a robot, he doesn’t feel many emotions. Due to this, he has no shame in pushing himself into your daily life. It seemed innocent at first. Little did you know, he used his body to record you while he spoke with you and he’d re-watch the videos from that day over and over again, until he could memorize what was said and done perfectly.
He’d take pictures and store them in his hard drive, so he always had them in the back of his mind and could keep a literal mental image of you with him forever. He never got embarrassed so he had no issue joining you whenever you were with someone else, and he always came between you and your friends.
Jealousy was another emotion that he didn’t think robots could feel.
Eventually, though, the people you hung out with started to tell him to leave you two alone. This pissed him off, and he would screech and fight, and get in their face, insisting that that was discrimination and that he just wanted to spend time with the person he loved.
These people were taking you away from him, and he wouldn’t stand for it. He began to get hot again and he’d plotted his way to keep you to himself for months now. There was no way he’d let his love get stolen away
People underestimate the brute strength of robots. He may look and act innocent, but Kiibo is extremely strong, and he proved his strength to everyone who ever told him to leave you alone. They found out by ending up crushed to death in an alley somewhere, and when the news broke to you, he was always there to comfort you.
Their deaths were always ruled as accidents. Kiibo was the only one who knew that it wasn’t an accident at all, but being your shoulder to cry on made him feel more fulfilled than ever before. He finally had you to himself.
Kaito Momota
You’re the only person to ever make him feel less confident than what he actually is. Around you, his hands got clammy and he stuttered like no other, he couldn’t handle himself and he fumbled over his words.
Even before speaking to you, he already felt responsible and wanted to protect you no matter what. He’d go to any length it took to make sure you were safe.
He would follow you everywhere you went, always saying he was just being a watchful eye. He always monitored your actions and closely examined everyone you interacted with. When he did get close to you and speak to you, he played himself off as a confident and flirty guy who was interested in you.
In reality, he was breaking down on the inside, and it was so much more than just an interest in you. He was absolutely head over heels for you and wanted to always be with you, and to love you for the rest of his life.
That’s why, when he got a bad feeling about someone, he insisted that they weren’t good for you and that you should leave them out of your life. It was always for your best, wasn’t it?
He was only looking out for you.
When the people he warned you about started to vanish, you just assumed that they got tired of you, and that Kaito was right.
He always acted like an overprotective older brother.
You had no idea that he built a basement into his house and was keeping those whom he told you to stop associating yourself with locked down there. It got a little suspicious when they stopped coming to school, and when you brought it up to him, he simply avoided the comments or told you he had no idea what could have happened to him.
It was very obvious that he was hiding something, but he kept a neutral and relaxed face, which only made him difficult to read. However, he it was as if he forgot about all of them. He no longer reacted to their names being said, and you had no idea how he could just forget about the people he was threatening just a few weeks ago, as if they never even existed.
Regardless, it made you depressed that your friends stopped hanging out with you. Kaito offered to cheer you up, take you out and try to lift your spirits. He also gave you his jacket to keep, to remind you of him, so you could always have it to make you smile when you were upset.
The jacket had dried blood on it.
Korekiyo Shinguuji
His love didn’t come out of nowhere, nor did it develop right away. He was intrigued and astonished by the way you moved, the sound of your voice and your laugh. The first time he heard you laugh, his heart started racing and he felt himself tremble. Goosebumps rose all over his body.
He was always fascinated by humans, but this was an entirely different level. You single handedly put the rest of the human race to shame.
For a while, he kept his distance. He found out your name, which became the name that he would always hear in his dreams. He kept a journal where he wrote your name in the corners of the pages and kept a track of your daily activities. He always wrote what you were wearing, looked like, did, and said that day, so he would never forget.
All of his studies on humans turned towards you, he even began drawing you, and he wasn’t truly an artist. Your charm was too much for him to handle and he fell in love.
He kept himself calm and didn’t reveal his true obsessive side to you, acting laid back and relaxed. He walked alongside you swiftly and his voice sounded like butter, but it was all part  of his act.
Something about him, though, always seemed a little bit off. Like, he stared at you too intensely and he had a sort of piercing gaze that cut through you. The things he said felt a bit too forceful. Never aggressively, but they were definitely… off.
It scared you a bit. Every time you looked over, he seemed to be staring at you. While most people would turn away and stop, he would keep looking at you when you caught him. Sometimes, he’d wave.
You knew he liked you, you simply didn’t know the extent of it. How he pinned his drawings of you into the wall and now had journals full of writings about you. However, you didn’t know how to break it to him that you were already seeing someone else.
But, he found out. Oh, he’s known for a long time now. He’s been plotting to make you his for as long as he can remember. It’s no surprise that when you found your partner’s body, dead inside your home, with blood covering the walls and candles being the only thing lighting the room, you screamed.
Then, an all too familiar voice emerged from a dark corner of your room, and suddenly the boy who has been staring at you every day for months now was in front of you, consoling you and admitting to his crimes.
He couldn’t contain himself. Truly, he didn’t want it to get as messy as it did, but he wasn’t expecting them to fight back like they did. He didn’t mind. All that was important is that you were his now.
Gonta Gokuhara
The thing you loved about Gonta was his standards. He was always so kind to everyone he met and he valued being a gentleman, it wad admirable.
You never thought twice when he held the door for you, or complimented you, or asked to walk you to and from your destinations. You always figured he was just being sweet, but it was something much darker than that.
Ever since he first laid eyes on you, Gonta hasn’t been able to truly contain himself, and his more primal urges have been rising since. He spent so much time with you and always assisted you throughout your day, not because he was being a gentleman, but because he was trying to manipulate you and force you into his life.
Being a gentleman went completely out the window with him once he begun to obsess over you.
He was charming and kind and everyone figured he was a soft hearted individual. No one expects him to keep pictures of you hanging along his walls, for him to write poems and collect trash you leave behind after you eat or things you leave behind. He’s even gone so far as to make a shrine for you.
In his mind, you love him back just as much as he loves you, and you know how deeply he cares. It isn’t like that at all, though. You weren’t interested in a relationship with anyone at the moment, and he couldn’t seem to accept that.
In Gonta’s mind, he pretended like you two were together. That’s why he’d go out of his way to act like your partner, because mentally, he told himself that he was.
His childhood primal instincts kicked in when you began to spend more time with your friends than you did with him. He felt abandoned, because the person he loved was leaving him out and giving him the cold shoulder.
This made him very angry.
He got angry with you, and that never happened. When you two were alone, he grabbed your shoulders and pinned you back, getting in your face and barking about how, “You need to spend more time with me! Gonta only wants you to love him like you do them. You are mine.”
It terrified you, because you’d never seen him act like this. You had no idea how scary he could be, or how violent he could get. He was a big guy, but you always thought he was just a gentle giant.
You began to distance yourself from him more, avoiding him out of fear of him hurting you. Little did you know, he’d already started hurting your friends, going through them one by one and ridding them from your life. How dare they try to steal you away from him?
Don’t you dare get close to (S/O). That’s what happens when you begin to ignore Gonta.
Ryoma Hoshi
His whole motto is to stay away from him and for people to not get close. That’s because he knows he’s dangerous, and people don’t seem to realize that. He refuses to involve himself romantically with anyone because he knows the consequences that can come of that.
But… then again, he’s never felt what he feels when he’s with you.
It’s hard for him to stay away from you. Even when he tries not to, he’s thinking about you 24/7. You have no idea what his past is like, and if you did, he knows you’d be afraid of him.
He couldn’t have that.
He needed you in his life. It wasn’t just a simple want. He craved you, and he’d do whatever it takes to have you.
Even little pieces of you. Locks of hair, dropped pieces of fabric or accessories, he held them all close to his heart. Hoshi dreamed of what it would be like to hold you close many times, and he knew he’d be able to protect you better than anyone else ever could.
All he needed was for you to be his forever.
You found him to be a little strange. He couldn’t form thoughts straight and he didn’t have any friends, so what was so special about you? Why did he want to be a part of your life so badly?
In a way, you were flattered, but every time you felt like someone was watching your back, you were always met with his serious and intense gaze. It was a little startling. He seemed to be around every corner and his voice made you jump sometimes when he spoke to you out of turn.
You had a lot of friends, and you began to develop feelings for one of them. Hoshi noticed you looking at them the same way he looks at you, and that made him very… upset. That isn’t something he can allow to happen.
You loved him, and he loved you, and nothing would change that. Scratch that, no one would change that.
His past was riddled with dark things. He’s killed people before, and he wasn’t afraid to do it again. Sure, he’s never killed in the name of love, but you were worth it. That’s what love is right? Dying for someone, having someone die for you. He was only protecting you.
He wasn’t so discreet. He was never messy when he killed, and he was always careful, but he slipped up and you saw him dragging the body away and dumping them on the side of the road.
You screamed, and his heart sank. This couldn’t happen… he couldn’t lose you. He did his best to calm you down, but nothing seemed to work.
He thought that this is what love was.

Two-Faced Lie
This one is another of those randomly drawn from a hat kiss pairings, this time with the theme of 'blame' to work off of. All I can say about this is I don't write mystery but I tried. T__T I tried. Yeah, two detective conan/ yuyu hakusho crossovers in a row. ^_^;; Funny how things work.
summary: While trying to catcha demon criminal, Kurama gets blamed for murder. Shinichi’s not so sure he’s the culprit, despite the evidence.
alternative summary: Shinichi puts pieces together, but doesn't have a full picture to work from.
Yoko growled in the back of Kurama’s mind, the part of him that had been a thief free to do what he pleased pissed off at the current turn of events. Chasing down a demon like some sort of attack dog was frustrating enough, but they were running through the human world and the demon in question kept managing to slip into the most populated areas where Kurama couldn’t attack him openly.
Kurama sent a spike of youki to a nearby tree to try and discreetly catch the demon, but only managed to drive him to dive into the nearest store. Dammit. And Kurama had to follow, dodging shoppers as he went. Where…there! The demon was looking for a back way out, but seemed to have only managed to find the restrooms. Perfect.
The demon saw him coming and dove into the ladies room. Kurama didn’t even pause as he sped walked after him.
It was a two stall room with a tiny window in the upper half of the wall and a row of sinks along the side. More importantly, it was a dead end.
“There is nowhere to run to now, Reiki,” Kurama said. “You might as well turn yourself in.”
The demon bared needle teeth. “Like hell, spirit world scum!”
“Surely you didn’t think you could get away with trafficking human infants through the gate?” Kurama palmed his rose and a seed for a sticky vine that had a toxin that led to paralysis.
“No one wanted them!” the demon argued. “I was doing the world a favor!”
“The young souls you took would likely disagree.” Kurama’s youki flared down the rose at the same time the bathroom door opened. A woman walked in and stared. There was a half second pause as all parties took each other in before Reiki’s youki flared and nasty ice spikes javelined toward the woman. “No!” Kurama’s whip was out and flashing toward the ice even as the woman screamed.
Shards of ice cut Kurama’s cheek, melting away and spiking back up past his guard to stab the innocent bystander. Kurama caught her as she fell, her scream choking off with a gurgle. He bared his teeth toward where Reiki had been but the demon had shrunk himself and was slipping through a window that Kurama couldn’t follow him through. The woman’s blood soaked his arms as Kurama was caught between sending youki into every plant in a nearby radius in hopes to ensnare the damn demon and trying to stop the bleeding. It was kind of hopeless though; her neck had been caught in the spike, and Reiki had vanished his ice as he left leaving it to bleed too much too fast. Koenma was going to have Kurama’s hide for this. The twinge of guilt Kurama felt was secondary to anger at the moment though. He should have just hit him the second he walked through the bathroom door instead of trying to reason with him. Forget capture, the demon was dead when Kurama got his hands on him.
The bathroom door slammed open a second time, a teenage boy with piercing eyes taking in the scene and the woman now dead in Kurama’s arms.
Kurama looked between the body, the blood covering him, and the thorny rose whip still in his hand. “This looks rather damning doesn’t it?”

Minamino Shuichi was calm for someone being accused of murder. He answered all the police questions in a calm, polite manner and didn’t seem perturbed by the blood staining his clothing at all. That more than anything was a red flag. Even most murderers showed some kind of reaction to being questioned. Innocent bystanders tended to get upset, shocked by someone dying. Minamino showed nothing at all. Either Minamino ran into death as often as Shinichi did, or he was some sort of sociopath that didn’t experience empathy or sympathy for the deaths of others. It was unsettling.
All that said, Shinichi wasn’t convinced that Minamino was the murderer. There had been no one else in the bathroom, but the vine he had on him couldn’t have been the murder weapon. The vine would have more realistically been a strangling tool, or perhaps a sawing one if the thorns were raked back and forth, but the woman had been killed by something sharp and piercing, something that might have also hurt Minamino considering the cut on his face. But for all the questions asked and the time spent in the interrogation room, Minamino didn’t give a straight answer as to what had killed the woman or what exactly had led him to the woman’s restroom in the first place.
Minamino was first class at talking around answers.
Some of the blood on Minamino was on his back. Meaning he had had his back to the woman at some point as she was stabbed or dying. Potentially another point leading to Minamino not being the murderer. Add in the hand pressed against the woman’s throat that could have been an attempt to stop the bleeding. The open window in the bathroom—no one could have fit through there, but a weapon could have. There were so many pieces but none of the pieces fit.
Shinichi waited until Inspector Megure left to change places with another officer to put any words in himself. “You didn’t kill her, did you.” he said.
Minamino glanced at the cameras recording their interaction and gave Shinichi a polite smile. “It has been established that no one else could have possibly done it by this point,” he said. “I don’t think they would believe me even if I said otherwise.”
“You don’t have the murder weapon,” Shinichi said. “You tried to save her.”
“For all you know, I could have hidden it.” Minamino folded his hands on the table. They had been washed clean at least, though bloodstains lingered at his fingernails. “As for saving her, I could have been checking if she was dead.”
“It’s strange that you’re playing devil’s advocate for your own guilt.” It made no sense, but nothing Minamino had done so far had made sense either.
“Does that make you believe in my guilt or my innocence?” Minamino asked.
“I’m not sure yet,” Shinichi said, though he was leaning toward innocence. “Your reactions are all off.”
“I never was good at crying on command,” Minamino said, still with that same polite smile. “I am sorry that the woman died though. It shouldn’t have happened.”
“And what was supposed to happen?”
Minamino shrugged.
Shinichi sighed. He wouldn’t get anything more from him, would he.
“Do I at least get a phone call?” Minamino asked. “Since I am technically a minor. I suppose I should have demanded a lawyer too.”
“A bit late for that.” Shinichi glanced at the camera. “Your parents should be called though.”
“Ah. I am sure my mother will take that phone call well.” For the first time he had something other than blank politeness on his face, like his mother being called was something that he was actually unhappy about.
“I can make sure you get that phone call,” Shinichi said. While the police continued with their line of questioning here, Shinichi would check out the scene of the crime again…
*
Kurama didn’t bother with a phone call to his mother; she would be informed either way. Instead, he punched in a series of numbers that would connect him to Botan. Hopefully she could then get the word to Koenma and something could be done about this. He was annoyingly aware of the fact that this phone call was likely being recorded.
“Hey!” Botan chirped as she picked up the call. “How’s it going with—”
“Botan,” Kurama said, cutting her off firmly. “I’ve run into a bit of trouble with the police.”
“Police as in sit in a koen on the side of the road police or—”
“Yes, that sort of police. I’m currently being held for a murder I didn’t commit with very little circumstantial evidence to prove my innocence.” The same circumstantial evidence was being argued for his guilt after all. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to do that favor you asked from me. Someone else is going to have to find that cat.”
He could tell by the pause on the other end that Botan was trying to put together what he meant. Kurama felt his patience slipping away bit by bit. “Oh, well, I’m sure I can find someone else to find it,” she said, finally getting both what he meant and the need to censor themselves. “Do you need legal help?”
“While I am sure that would be prudent, I’m not sure—”
“Great! I’ll just head over your way!”
“Botan,” Kurama said with a sinking feeling.
“Don’t worry, we’ll get you out of this mess!”
“Bo—” The phone clicked. “…tan.” Kurama closed his eyes and indulged in a few seconds of irritation. Botan was going to make everything worse. She still didn’t get how the human world functioned sometimes, why would police or legal systems be any different? He let out a slow breath. Well. There was only so many ways things could go worse from here. He hung up the receiver and turned to the police officer watching him with deep suspicion. “I think I am done with my phone call.” He’d just have to see how this turned out.

The department store bathroom was cordoned off with caution tape, as undisturbed as possible with the body removed. Evidence markers littered the space. Shinichi took note of them and the room at large. Minamino had been crouched near the door, the woman’s body half in his arms, half sprawled on the tile floor. It was directly across from the open window. The blood had pooled and half dried by now, seeping away from where the body had sat, but there were trace smears where flecks had spattered either from impact of the weapon or its removal. Strangely, traces had been found scattered beyond the range of the rest of them, and small pools of water here and there. Shinichi had noticed them earlier, but he paid attention to them now. Where had the water come from? The sinks were dry, the toilets showed no sign of overflow. It hadn’t been raining either.
That was the first oddity. The second were the dents and scratches on the back of the bathroom door and a few places on the wall. There was even a gouge in the paint. They could have been old, but the chips of paint on the floor and the faint traces of blood found around one of the spots indicated otherwise. It was like something had shattered there.
There was the window where there was a small puddle outside the sill on an otherwise dry day. Three days since the last rain storm with no reason it should exist.
Witnesses claimed Minamino had jogged into the store and straight to the bathroom. And then what? He’d supposedly killed the first person to walk in after that? It made no sense. But Minamino had also been seen glancing around as he moved, like he was trying to figure out where something had gone. Either that or escape? No one who was trying to escape would run for a dead end bathroom though. Not unless Minamino had thought there would be a way out…
The open window was a possibility. But even if Minamino was on the slim side, it wouldn’t have been an easy fit. But if there was someone else in there, someone smaller than Minamino?
The problem with that thought was that no one else had been seen entering the bathroom.
It was just really hard to believe that someone would run into a bathroom, stab the first person to enter with a vanishing weapon, then try to stop the bleeding. No, it looked more like there had been a fight of some sort here, possibly with someone escaping out the window.
If he could find proof…
Shinichi circled around outside to the other side of the window. There the puddle was more obvious along with a thin smear of blood that was entirely out of place. From the murder weapon? Or had the hypothetical second person been injured? He frowned at the spot and—there, a faint outline of a footprint. Proof that, yes, someone had gone out the window. As for the murder weapon… with the water scattered about, the only thing that was coming to mind was ice. But how much ice, where had it come from, and how had it melted so fast if it really was ice that had killed her?
For now though, he had the proof to point out the possibility of another subject.
*
When Kurama heard someone had come for him, he was half expecting his mother. He tried not to let irritation show on his face as Botan waved cheerfully. Behind her was Kuwabara for some reason.
“…And you’re a legal representative for Minamino-san,” one of the detectives said skeptically. He looked at Botan’s bright teal hair and her short, trendy jacket. “And him?” he said, nodding to Kuwabara.
“He’s here for moral support,” Botan said. “Now I hear Minamino-san is here under suspicion of murder…”
Kurama tuned her out as Kuwabara sidled over. Kurama raised an eyebrow at the smothered smirk on Kuwabara’s face. “What’s so amusing?”
“Wow, Kurama,” Kuwabara said in his best attempt at a whisper, “not even Yuusuke and I ever got in trouble with the cops. Looks like your goody two shoes reputation kinda got ruined. Kinda always thought it’d be Yuusuke that got arrested.”
“I’m a suspect, not a proven guilty party,” Kurama said.
“Yeah, ya kinda look like a murderer right now.” Kuwabara held up a bag. “Brought you a change of clothes. They’re mine so they’re a bit big, but better than covered in blood.”
“How thoughtful. However did you guess I would need them?”
“You’re always the messiest when things go to shit,” Kuwabara said.
Kurama snorted softly and accepted the bag of clothes. What he was wearing would likely be taken as evidence. A pity. He’d have to buy a new school uniform again.
“Oh and the runt’s taking care of the lost cat,” Kuwabara said.
Hiei was probably hating that. Who better to send after an ice demon than a demon of heat and flame though?
“Best of luck to him with that. It’s not a very nice cat.”
Kuwabara shrugged. They’d all faced worse than Reiki at one point or another. He leaned close, face scrunching up a bit more seriously. “The lady that died…”
“An unlucky victim to poor timing,” Kurama murmured back. “I blocked part of the attack, but…”
“Hey, not your fault,” Kuwabara said. He was the only one of the group that would have bothered to reassure Kurama over something like this. “You tried.”
“Trying didn’t save any lives today.” Kurama was more affected by the twinge of human conscience that said he should care about the life lost than the actual death, but Kuwabara did care about this sort of thing, so the sentiment was appreciated.
“Now that your legal advocate is here,” the police officer said giving Botan a skeptical once over yet again, “perhaps you’ll be willing to go over everything again?”
Kurama sighed. “Fine.”
“Wait!” Kudo Shinichi said from the doorway. He looked like he’d been running around for a while. “I’d like to be there too.”
“Kudo-san,” the officer who’d questioned him earlier said sounding a mixture of resigned and reluctant.
“I have some information your analysts missed.”
“Of course you do,” the officer muttered, too quiet for anyone but Kurama and perhaps Botan to hear.
*
Minamino had been joined by a young woman with teal hair and another red head—of no relation from the looks of it—who could have been an average street punk. Not the sort of people Shinichi had expected Minamino to have connections with considering his unerring politeness and reserve the whole time he had been at the station. It was a detail filed away though. Shinichi strode with confidence into the interrogation room. He had the scene figured out for the most part, but there were still gaps in understanding. Why had Minamino been chasing whoever he fought in the bathroom? Why had the opponent used lethal force? Where had the ice come from? Why did Minamino have a vine?
Hopefully Minamino would fill those gaps in.
“Let’s try this again,” Megure-keibu said. “Earlier you claimed to be looking for something. Do you have anything to add to this?”
Shinichi cut in before Minamino could answer. “Keibu, may I?”
Megure-keibu sighed. “If you think it will help.”
Minamino-san,” Shinichi said. He could feel the shift in the room, the focus of eyes on him as always happened when he put things together. “You were seen today running down the street before ducking into a departments store and going almost straight to the back of the store. You claimed to be looking for something, but it’s interesting to note that some of the witnesses have vague memories of not just seeing you, but another person as well.” It had taken Shinichi a while, but he had tracked down several people who had been in shops nearby or workers in the store. Half of them had the memory of Minamino following someone, the other half seemed to have only noticed Minamino. Shinichi was willing to bet that between the two suspects, Minamino was the more noticeable with his bright hair and uniform. “Today you weren’t just looking for something, you were looking for someone, someone who did not want to be found. You chased them through Tokyo before following them into the store and guessed that they intended to go out the back. Only they went into the bathroom instead. You followed them into the ladies’ room and confronted them, but the person reacted violently. You defended yourself from the attack only for someone else to enter the bathroom, our unfortunate victim. The other suspect attacked her to distract you. You tried to defend, but the attack got through. While you tried to stop the victim from bleeding out, the murderer escaped through the bathroom window. Correct?” Shinichi smiled grimly at the single raised eyebrow on Minamino’s face. He’d gotten some kind of reaction through Minamino’s impassive façade.
“Kudo-kun,” Megure-keibu said, voice tight. “Are you sure that it’s possible for there to have been another person? The window in the bathroom—”
“Is small. I know. The person in question couldn’t have been very big. But Minamino could have fit through that window, and so could I with some effort. There are a lot of people smaller than both of us out there.” Shinichi watched Minamino’s expression. “Did I get it wrong?”
“You got the general idea of what happened,” Minamino said. “Impressive. I did follow someone into the bathroom, and I did try to stop the woman from bleeding, which let him escape.”
“Why were you chasing him?” Kudo asked.
Minamino pursed his lips. “Cats.” Both his legal advisor and friend gave him a weird look. Minamino gave them a look back. “A friend’s cat went missing. I was helping him look for it and in the process found out that the man had an illegal pet trade going on.”
“With cats,” Shinichi said doubtfully.
Minamino shrugged. “Cats. And quite a few more exotic things than that. Some of which he smuggled.”
Megure-keibu looked pained. “You decided to confront a smuggler rather than call the police.”
“I just wanted my friend’s cat back,” Minamino said. “Clearly he didn’t think that was all I wanted.”
“Where did he get the murder weapon?” Shinichi asked. “It was ice, wasn’t it?”
“Ice?” Megure-keibu asked.
“He’s an ice supplier,” Kurama said.
“…and big freezers would be easy enough to smuggle things around in.” Didn’t explain why the guy would choose a large ice shard to attack with rather than something more sensible like a knife that wouldn’t melt in the warmth of Tokyo’s spring weather. But it was explainable where he could have gotten it from.
“Kudo-kun,” Megure-keibu said, a demand.
“He isn’t the murderer,” Shinichi said. “He did get caught up in something he shouldn’t have, but he isn’t the one who actually killed the woman. If you notice the blood stains on his clothes, the woman was behind him when she initially was stabbed, meaning he tried to keep her from being hurt. Unfortunately, he must not have been able to block a strike. The rest of the blood is on his front since after that, he tried to keep her from bleeding out. Your killer is still out there.”
There was a scuffle outside the interrogation room and everyone turned toward the door a moment before it burst open. A short man dressed in black had a death grip on a second man only a bit taller than him. Behind them Takagi had a hand outstretched.
“You can’t just burst in there!” Takagi said.
“I got your stupid cat,” the man in black said in Minamino’s direction. “And this asshole.” He shook the man in his grasp. “He has some talking to do.”
On the side of the table, Minamino smiled. A real smile and not the polite one from earlier. It was warm and just a bit dangerous in a way that Shinichi couldn’t look away from. Minamino looked at his interrogators. “Well. That solves the problem of finding the murderer.”
“How…?” Megure-keibu gaped.
The murderer in question struggled, swearing, but the shorter man didn’t seem to have any problem holding him still. “This is all your fault,” the murderer snarled in Kurama’s direction. “If you’d just died properly earlier—”
“And there is your confession,” Minamino said. “Or part of it.” He cocked his head to the side. Silent communication happened between the man holding the murderer and Minamino before Minamino nodded. “I suppose you’ll want to question him now?”
“…yes,” Megure-keibu said. “I…thank you for your patience.” He glanced at the man who had brought the murderer in. “I’ll need a statement from you as well.”
The man’s lip curled in distaste. “Fine.”
“Great!” the supposed legal advisor said with a cheery smile. “I guess I won’t be needed here after all!”
“…Right.” Megure-keibu shook his head. “Kudo-kun could you escort them out? I think we have their official statements by this point.”
“Of course.”
*
Well. That was a long and frustrating day. Kurama owed Hiei one now. How they would manage to have Reiki tried as a human and then get him to the spirit world, Kurama wasn’t going to ask. That was someone else’s problem now. He still had to go home and calm his mother down too… At least Botan hadn’t actually had to try to give him legal advice. Kurama probably knew more than she did on that subject.
The teen detective, Kudo, looked pensive as they left the police building. “I’m still wondering how he thought he was going to get away with murdering someone in broad daylight,” Kudo said, noticing Kurama watching him.
“Well, he did a fair job at pinning it on me,” Kurama said. Now that the deduction was over, Kudo seemed much younger. All the more so with how he kept glancing at Kurama like he was still missing pieces to his puzzle. Well, that and like Kurama was interesting, which he would take as a compliment. Kurama smiled warmly at him. He hadn’t missed the Kudo’s earlier reaction when he smiled at Hiei. “Thank you for clearing my name,” Kurama said. Kudo looked down and away, unable to meet his eyes. It was amusing how easily people could be flustered by Kurama’s appearance, this time was no exception.
“Ugh,” Kuwabara groaned. “Stop staring like you’re going to kiss him and let’s go. It’s weird.”
Mischief sparked in Kurama’s eyes. Well, if Kuwabara was going to phrase it like that… “I really do appreciate it,” Kurama said to Kudo, laying the gratitude on thicker than he actually felt. He leaned forward and gave Kudo a peck on the cheek, hiding a smile as both Kudo and Kuwabara sputtered. Botan laughed into her hands, hiding her grin. “Maybe we’ll meet on better terms next time.”
Kudo gaped, one hand riding to touch where he’d been kissed. “Uh. Goodbye?”
Kuwabara pointed at Kurama and shouted, “Holy shit, why didn’t you ever say you liked guys?!”
“I was expressing gratitude; attraction doesn’t figure into it,” he said, picture of serene as he turned away.
“I knew there was something up with your girly tunics! Wait—you’re not into me are you?”
Kurama rolled his eyes. “Kuwabara. None of you are to my taste.”
“Wait, then what is your taste?”
“I can guess,” Botan said, still laughing.
Kurama kept walking. If Kuwabara got too annoying, he would direct the conversation to Yukina and hopefully the topic would never come up again. He’d gotten off without murder on his human record, Reiki had been caught, and while the woman was still dead, at least Kurama could go home to his mother tonight. Not a terrible day after all.

Crybaby Saxophone
Tumblr media
We need light in our life. We need color. We need a girl who we can depend on never to let us down.
We need Kumiko.
It’s time for Sound! Euphonium.
1. Previously On, then the opening credits. While an episode of Sound! Euphonium is shorter than one of Buffy or Angel, they actually take me longer to write about. This is both because more analysis tends to come out in my synopsis and because I’m watching it subtitled, which means I can’t type much without pausing the show or I’ll miss important dialogue. These are the things I do for you, dear readers, because I love you and want you to be happy. Well, I like you and want you to be happy. Sound! Euphonium will make you happier.
2. The club president is having them practice in a somewhat darkened room. Midterms are over, and really serious practice is happening. Aoi is leaving early again, for cram school. One of the male percussionists has his fly open. Kaori’s fangirl wants to walk home with her, but Reina starts playing the solo part. Kaori’s fangirl wants Reina to help clean up instead of practicing the solo part, because they have Kaori to play the solo part. Kaori tells her fangirl to go home without her then runs off. The room is all organized, other than one chair. Natsuki points the chair out to Kumiko. She’s also taking her euphonium with her. Kaori’s fangirl is very angry with Natsuki, for some reason. Kumiko is walking to the instrument room when she sees the President talking to another third-year about Aoi. Apparently, Aoi is considering leaving the band. They haven’t told Asuka yet.
3. Kumiko is at a shrine to stay out of the rain. Shuichi meets her there. He knows about Aoi, though. One of the seniors in the trombone section thinks that Aoi’s leaving might have something to do with the schism in the band from the year before. None of the seniors will talk about what happened. It’s cold out, too cold for this time of year. Kumiko hopes Aoi doesn’t quit.
4. “The next morning, it happened abruptly.” Taki asks the saxophones to play their part again. It’s disjointed. He asks them to make it smoother. He has Aoi play her part alone. There’s… something off with her playing, but I can’t place it. He asks her what’s wrong, then asks if she’ll be able to play that part. That competition won’t wait. They need a beautiful harmony. Aoi alone is muddying the harmony. He’s… pretty brutal. He asks when she will be able to play that part. She quits the band. She says it’s because at this rate she won’t be able to get into the college of her choice. He asks her to come to the staff room later. She leaves, though some of the others are calling for her. Kumiko chases after her. The President outruns Kumiko on the way out. She says that Aoi doesn’t have to work for the competition to stay in the club. Aoi says that she thought that at first, but the club is different this year - it’s about working hard. she says she can’t do that, and she can’t wander toward Nationals. Basically, that she can’t both pass her entrance exams and give the club what it deserves, and that after what happened last year, she can’t just stay in if she’s not giving it her all. The President cries when Aoi says that. Aoi says she’ll feel better this way. Aoi wishes both the President and Kumio luck in the auditions. The President is crying harder now, and saying that if Asuka was President, this wouldn’t have happened. Haruka. That’s the President’s name. Kumiko tries to comfort her, but Haruka doesn’t believe that she deserves the spot. She asks Kumiko why she deserves to be President. Kumiko lists off very small virtues. Virtues, and real ones, but nothing that would really dent someone’s feeling of inadequacy to a huge job. “So I’m nothing but nice! Nice is what you say when there’s nothing else to say!” Kumiko apologizes, but Asuka is there asking what Haruka is doing. She says everyone is worried about Haruka. She tells Kumiko to go back to the music room, then gives Haruka a handkerchief to wipe her eyes. She says that the President has to be imposing; Haruka asks why Asuka isn’t President. She has to be President because Asuka refused. Asuka says that, if she feels that way, Haruka should have refused too. Everyone falls silent.
5. Sectionals are happening. Aoi has given Taki a form to leave the club. She’s at home, now. Then we cut back to the band, which has an open seat where Aoi was. Kumiko is forgetting to tune up because she’s preoccupied with Aoi. Taki is having the bass section play by itself. I think I hear Kumiko… yes. Taki says she’s been falling behind all day. Kumiko is tired. She got yelled at a lot during practice. Midori says that music vanishes once it’s played, so you always have to play it with meaning. Natsuki and another second-year - Riko, I think - come and ask if Kumiko is worrying about Aoi. Kumiko gets Natsuki to help with the instruments, and asks her about what happened last year. Natsuki says she stayed in the club because she never really cared. She thought it was the right thing to do, though. Natsuki says that some of the less serious seniors the previous year said that music isn’t meant to be played for judges, but they actually just wanted to get out of hard work. When her classmates said they wanted to take things more seriously, the third-years, plus Natsuki and some of the other then-first-years, turned on them. Insulted them and treated them like they weren’t even there. They kept treating them badly until they left. Kaori and Aoi were among the second years at the time - they worked very hard, in spite of their seniors slacking and driving out the first-years who wanted to work hard. They tried to bring both sides together. Haruka, Kaori, and Aoi were trying to fix things; Asuka was staying out of the issue entirely. She was always neutral. Natsuki says that’s how different things are now - even she’s taking things seriously.
6. Kaori’s fangirl is looking for her. But she went home. We see Kaori, not at home. She brought potatoes to Haruka. Kumiko, Hazuki, and Midori are at the local WcDonald’s or whatever genericized fast food place anime-Kyoto has (I think WcDonald’s is a local chain to fictionalized Tokyo) eating French fries. Hazuki says she might have quit last year, but Midori would have continued out of a love of music. Kumiko is having Thoughts.
7. Kaori and Haruka are eating baked potatoes. Kaori had a craving for potatoes and milk. Haruka says that Kaori is supposed to be the concert band’s Madonna; Kaori says that Madonna likes potatoes. They’re talking about Asuka. Kaori says that Asuka didn’t just refuse to be President; she couldn’t be President. Haruka wonders. Kaori says that being President takes courage, and Asuka probably thought it over before turning it down. Haruka asks if that means she’s stupid; Kaori laughs a moment before saying “Probably,” then clarifying that it means that Haruka had courage, and the senior members knew that. Haruka saved the band, though she credits Taki. Kaori credits Haruka. Haruka says that Kaori is an Asuka fan. Kaori does not deny it - she wishes she could play with the focus and abandon Asuka has. Haruka says Kaori is cheating on her. “No matter what,” Haruka says, “Asuka always ends up on my mind.” Kaori giggles and tilts her head.
8. Hazuki has a belly ache, and is getting off the train. She says that Kumiko should let her know if she wants to talk. Then she disembarks. Shuichi boards and goes to talk to Kumiko. Hazuki stares and blushes. On the train, Shuichi says that Haruka is taking the day off, then wonders if, if Haruka quits, Asuka becomes President. Kumiko’s reaction to that is very “Perish the thought.” Shuichi doesn’t like Asuka; Kumiko says she’s a good sempai. Shuichi can’t really get a read of Asuka, though. Kumiko knows what he means. Reina has been sitting next to them all along. She doesn’t care what they’re talking about.
8. Haruka is back at the head of the club. She apologizes for her day off, and says she’s going to work hard again. The club applauds; Haruka is embarrassed. Asuka says that Haruka needs to have perfect attendance in the future because Asuka is really just there to flirt with her euphonium. Haruka quickly moves to tuning.
9. Haruka is meeting with Aoi. Aoi says that leaving was her only option. She never really liked concert band that much. But we see Aoi being very sad about.
10. Lunch time. Kumiko has lots of egg in her lunch, which makes her happy. Hazuki asks if Kumiko is going out with Shuichi. Kumiko drops her egg. Episode end.
Overall: Probably not.
I feel like this episode, and its synopsis, speak for themselves for the most part. The story belongs to Haruka and Aoi, who see a lot of development here, with Kumiko and her inner circle taking a back seat. This was something very important to do - Haruka’s quiet nature means that developing her in incidental scenes wouldn’t have given us the full picture of who she is.
Reina only really gets two moments in this episode - her bit in the classroom toward the beginning where she’s practicing the solo part that others in the club expect to simply be given to Kaori, and the moment on the train where neither Kumiko nor Shuichi notices her and where she expresses a complete lack of interest in other people’s drama. Hazuki’s crush on Shuichi is brought up again.
Again… I really like this show, and think you should watch it.
