i talked abt this on discord hehe so i'm rewording what i said for a post

thinking about these interactions...... from v3 chapter one before the first trial:

kaede isn't cruel but she doesn't do disingenuous compliments or mince her words when someone or their hobbies don't interest her (and when getting to know everyone for the first time has some difficulty being engaged in stuff that's not related to music) and kiibo is so defensive with literally everyone, you get to see it a lot in his free time events with shuichi, like he's sort of uptight with him until they get to know each other better

but he and kaede just bypass all that right away it's so funny why are they best friends!!!! in the FTEs kiibo doesn't even get mad at her when she asks his opinion on roombas or any of the other silly questions you can choose. she's not like, way nicer to him than with everyone else but they have fun hanging out.. and here he's like "no i know you're not treating me different you're fine don't worry"

and she's the only person in this entire game who would tell him he sounded cool asking an investigation question. plus she is literally going through it at this part ^ she thinks she just killed a friend and failed to end the game. if she says something like this she means it 100%

"SiLink is fucked up because link knew sidon when he was a whelp!" Bro that was a literal century ago. Sidon didnt even remember him. Link prolly patted his head in passing like twice. They are the same age now. Its not like he changed his lil shark daipies. bsffr. Have you seen them interact?

"hes MARRYING YONA" hes got two hands. And plenty of lap to go around.

thinking about saiibomatsu taking a nap together like one of those Really Good Naps and when they wake up they're all tangled together and their hair is all messy and fucked up and they're all a little bit too warm especially kiibo but it's fine they needed the rest. kiibo had to recharge or something so he was in sleep mode idk jfhdjffj

augh the ot3 and saimatsu...... i just love themb so so so so so much there are so few ships i feel this strongly about... nine times out of ten if i "ship" something it's in a sorta hypothetical way where i hardly ever imagine them doing romantic things together and more just. i like them when they stand next to each other and their dynamic is good/silly/tragic/etc. but saimatsu and saiibomatsu make me so unwell (positive) like. if my aro romance repulsed ass is imagining a ship getting married i have it BAD for them ok

i love saiibo they're so funny my friends have affectionately described them as having "strange chemistry" being "fucking embarrassing" etc that is better than anything i could ever say

i feel like i don't draw them being affectionate enough but i know it took them forever to be able to hold hands or hug or kiss without getting so flustered about it they had to stop and try again. like it's not about not wanting to i just feel like the Initiating is hard for them at first. shuichi wants to get better at it for kiibo and also for kaede because that's just one of his character traits, and then you have kiibo over here who's like "shu- shuichi!! um may i hold your hand please?" and he's so earnest but also so visibly flustered about it that shuichi just folds too and they're both like oh my god can we try again our hands didn't even touch this time

saimatsu they are so soft....... i always think about postgame and them being kinda clingy with each other for a while, like their romantic relationship evolves very naturally out of a close friendship and they're not clingy in an annoying way just like. they are Always holding hands always sitting shoulder to shoulder and they can't sleep unless they're at least in the same room if not fully just holding each other. maybe it's not the healthiest thing but it's what they need at first and that's okay :'(

kaede and shuichi going out sometimes in the winter to look at shops and walk around the park while kiibo stays at their apartment (?) (i think he likes snow and rain but not being out in the elements) and kaede and shuichi always come back almost too frozen to move fjdhfjfj

shuchi takes an extra coat because he freezes easily and kaede bundles up her hands, and they hold hands and walk close the whole time to stay warm, but when they get back home kiibo always has to like take their scarves and jackets and gloves off and take them in to sit down under their kotatsu and make some nice hot tea and then he wraps all three of them in a blanket and turns on his heater to warm them up <3 and he asks how their errands went or if they saw anything neat and shuichi is too cold to say much and kaede sleepily tells him whatever happened and then they both fall asleep on him. this happens every single time and kiibo wouldn't trade it for anything in the world

kaede and/or shuichi fall asleep on kiibo a lot i think... he's warm makes them feel safe.... he's not that comfortable to lay on LMAO but they deserve a little sleepy time

kiibo is soooooo careful of them when they do he does his best to stay perfectly completely still for however long they stay asleep but over time he gets more comfortable. he is so overwhelmed with emotion every time because it's like wow they feel safe enough to just fall asleep..... i think postgame kaede and shuichi are so clingy with each other and especially can't fall asleep at night without each other so if it's just one of them kiibo's like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT

i sorta hc that shuichi is the only member of the polycule who can cook or bake... he's not amazing at either but he's pretty good. i think kiibo could follow a recipe but he just hasn't practiced very much yet, and kaede has never tried because what if some freak accident in the kitchen burned her hands? what if she hurts a finger chopping vegetables? she can't take that chance

BUT i think she and kiibo should try at least once... maybe they make some cookies or little pastries for all of them to enjoy together (not kiibo though LMAO)

they would be so silly about it, they get themselves some nice kitchen aprons just for the fun of it... and both of them spent a lot of time beforehand, total coincidence, researching interesting types of cookies to make and recipes they thought would be fun because they're both So into this and got really excited and focused on making The Perfect Little Treat... and they come together like oh haha this is so silly of me but i had all these ideas... wait no that sounds great you're so right YEAH LET'S DO IT

was talking about this with finny and having brainrot...... kaede fidgeting with kiibo...... like holding his hand and idly running her fingers across the little interlocking bits and seams of all his finger joints... she asks him to take the cassette tape out of his audio recorder so she can spin the rewind dial without scrambling him jfjdjfjdj

she mentions in canon that she tends to fidget with her hands if she's not playing piano (or do the piano-playing motion in the air) so like. perfect solution <3 i always picture kiibo being clunky and tangible with all his buttons and dials or whatever, minimalist smooth tech is so lame

shuichi doesn't tend to do it but he likes watching them <3 like just glancing over while he's working at his laptop and kaede and kiibo are talking quietly about whatever they're watching on tv and kaede is Doing It and shuichi just smiles a little (and they tell him to come over and take a break so they can hold him)

kaede kiibo and shuichi could all listen to the same music on one pair of earbuds because kaede and shuichi each get one ear and kiibo just plugs the headphone jack into like the side of his head or wherever his audio input would be. if they do this kiibo has to play the music though jfdhjfbd he just hears it. in his brain

yknow how you put a fleece blanket in the dryer and it's just absolutely full of static when you take it out. i feel like that's what it's like to hug kiibo sometimes. kaede or shuichi go in for a hug and the next second all their hair is standing on end

ok i've been thinking a lot and i've decided...... i'm gonna maybe start talking more about saiibomatsu and making little textposts and stuff because i need the thoughts to exist outside my brain
