Ah sunnydrop/moondrop then? Interesting choice

Also mine is just me throwing in America in the middle of the fnaf lore. No Hetalia characters as fnaf characters, just America running amok in fnaf land, trying to chase down Henry and William to throw hands at them, tracking down the (his) animatronics and freeing the spirits inside of them and generally just wrecking the fnaf lore

And yes! I remember Hima saying in a post that Alfred is flexible, and that always stuck with me. Just, his boss getting angry one day and saying “Why don’t you just go run off and join a circus?!” And Alfred being like “Alright, bet”

You mentioned that you though the nordics were old af and I was curious as to why you think that and also how old exactly you think they are? Thank :)

Ah, theres two reasons for this! One being there is a canon comic where Sweden and Finland are talking, and Finland mentions that theyve been alive for *awhile*. I cant remember where it was, but if i find it ill add it to this post. Second being, historically, the nordic countries all were very established earlier than the others, the first human findings in Finland were around 11,000 years ago! That doesn’t exactly mean they were born then, but They had their own little communities very early, and a lot of the older countries traded with them, they are at least as old as rome and germania! Definitely older than China, if he is 4,000, maybe getting close to him if hes 6,000.  I don’t headcanon the nordics have parents, I headcanon that the nordics earlier on sort of represented a lot of different tribes, so a more general area, similar to how germania, rome, and hre are.  I know we call the countries in hetalia countries, but they honestly aren’t even exactly that, theyre more just like immortal beings tied to a place, because sometimes they can be micronations, cities, providences, empries, etc etc.

Yui hadn’t seen the monster until it was too late, her sword was too deep in the flesh of another monster to pull it out in time to use as a brace for impact so she fully expected to feel the strong searing burn of her skin being ripped open as she tensed... but it never came.

Instead she felt the discomfort of being shoved down, the clatter of armor, before hearing realizing what had happened... and that was before Flynn was sassing her after taking the hit for her.

“Dammit Flynn!” she growled, standing up once he moved. “This is the second time you’ve pulled that stunt!”

She rammed her sword into the forehead of a monster before turning her back to him. “You better be ready to have Estelle rip you open a new one for getting injured!” she snapped, not commenting on how she herself wanted to yell at him for such a stupid move.

🦋 Black Phoenix Dragoness 🔥 Back with commissions 😊 This is my second Phoenix Dragon ever, and a black one to boot! Not only she wears black like a model, she also has metallic peacock-blue highlights on her breast, legs, forehead and horns, not to mention glow-in-the-dark blue wings 🦋 Oh, and what about her firey tail, fanning out like a feathered bird tail? Each feather has a wire core and is crowned by a phosphorescent flame. The customer wanted a dragon that looked both elegant and cool, and I've been told I succeeded. I'm quite in love with her! She's approximately 9 cm tall, all made from cold porcelain (my signature material), acrylic colours, metal, phosphorescent powders, varnish and rhinestones. I hope you like her! . Are the nordics + Prussia based on any real fish/creature species? The twins look to be at least somewhat based off anglerfish, what with the light-stalk-thingymajig that I don’t actually know the name of, but anglerfish are like the only deep sea creature I know of so I don’t know if you got inspiration for the others from actual fish or if you just winged it and decided they looked good (they do, they look amazing, I love them)

Sort of a combination of both. I did look up some references, just typed in deep sea eels/sharks, but the same pictures kept showing up over and over again, so there wasn’t much to go off of. And most of them were the same eel. And ye, the twins are based on anglerfish

Hawks but instead of being a well...hawk, he's a Phoenix!

I actually love this idea because one of the ideas I have for any fantasy-like AUs is that he’s a phoenix like creature... I even requested it for the DabiHawks Gift Exchange and you can see the beautiful result here. 

And more on this, because I like phoenix imagery for him and would totally not be surprised if this is one of the reasons Horikoshi made his wings red, set them on fire (via the High End arc), and further more connects him with Dabi.

Here’s how that one works out - Dabi might be a reference to Ryuutou-dabi, or a proverb meaning anticlimax, which is a very well-known proverb in Japan. Many wonderful translators have already noted this in relation to Dabi, and this is why names with Ryou were popular pre-Touya Reveal. Of course, Hori did manage to sneak the ‘Tou’ part into the birth name of Dabi, but this still very much lines him up with Dragon imagery, which I think is important here. 

The proverb literally translated is ‘head of a dragon, tail of snake’, basically starting off strong, but ending in disappointment. An anticlimax. A subversion. Clearly, Dabi’s sense of humor is very bitter, as we can see in his choice of alias. Why do I bring this up in relation with Hawks and phoenix imagery? First off, when exploring the word Dabi, a really good meta on this word and his name mentioned its Chinese origin. If we’re going to associate Dragons with Dabi, I think it’s important to mention that dragons and fenghuang (phoenix) are often paired off in Chinese culture and the union between them usually signifies balance. This often used to show unifying opposites or, well, marriage, and this sort of imagery really appeals to me. 

Lots of Dabihawks fans tend to note how much they foil each other (and Hawks foils quite a lot of people!) and just how rife the relationship already seems to be with mythic references (mostly Hellenic - the Apollo connection to Dabi/Hawks as either Icarus or as a messenger for Apollo). I this this sort of depiction and imagery also work very well and focus less on Western mythology to boot.Finally on the fenghuang imagery, I do want to also posit something I read in a blog; the wings of the fenghuang are associated with Yi, which is the Confucian principle of moral righteousness.

Given that then fenghuang are associated with the idea of ‘doing the moral thing’, and are also know to embody qualities like loyalty, I just find it fascinating to tie to them with a character whose entire arc in this manga (most likely) is struggling with what doing the right thing is and struggling with the concept of loyalty. 

So, yeah, phoenixes.
