Stone sarcophagus within the Tomb of Merenptah (KV8), fourth king of the 19th Dynasty and son of Ramesses II.
Merenptah became king when he was approximately 70 years of age, outliving his older brothers. He reigned for 10 years and died in 1203 B.C.

A beadwork collar reminiscent of the statement pieces worn in Ancient Egypt! I did not make this piece, it came from the Victoria and Albert museum's marvellous gift shop. It truly captures the look of Ancient Egyptian aesthetics, so I'm surprised it wasn't in the British Museum's shop instead. I understand the beadwork techniques and appreciate the work that went into it though! The cotton thread, the beaded fastener, and the limited colour palate are clues I did not make this one. It is great for costumes (such as my Queen Nitocris Halloween outfit) and looks stunning with simple everyday outfits.
Material and techniques:
Glass seed beads, cotton thread, beadwork

Hello!
Maybe you can help with this. I'm a mythology enthusiast and my favorites are egyptian myths so I got a few tattoos about it. Lately I've been really worried that this could actually be appropriative and disrespectful.
I'm wondering if I should cover them up or is it fine for a foreign to have this kind of tatts?
You got these tattoos in the full recognition of what the source materials mean, because of your appreciation of that source material, and that is neither disrespectful nor appropriative. Are you claiming ownership of this culture through your tats? From the way you've phrased this ask, the answer to that is no. I'm also going to go out on a limb here and assume they're not like, wildly inappropriate depictions of Egyptian gods either. So you're fine. Actually you're a step up from the people wearing ankh pendants just because "spooky goth aesthetic" lmao and even those are largely fine.

He [Reeves] added: “This conclusion finds absolute confirmation in the figures’ facial profiles – the snub nose and chubby under-chin of the [figure] currently labelled as Ay follow … precisely the standardised facial outline adopted for official representations of Tutankhamun at the very start of his kingship. The face of the mummy carries the indisputable features of Nefertiti. Demonstrably, the scene had begun its life as a record of Tutankhamun officiating at the burial of his predecessor.”
