Peter Jackson's King Kong Game Soundtrack - Ann Leaves
Movie level composition production. Ann was pretty badass in the game frfr, in the movie she stood up to Kong. Here she chucking spears, mending wounds for everyone, helping Kong get to different areas, parkour.
She had Kong’s protection, but you notice there were times she wasn’t always in his presence. She survived it all, without guns. Woman was built for it.
Universal Studios: King Kong (2005) Statue Designed By: Peter Jackson Location: Manhattan, NYC
seeing this in person for the first time when i was younger walking around times square with my dad made me terrified of king kong lol it was freakishly massive.
This King Kong Replica was created especially to celebrate the December 5, 2005 World Premiere and took a seat of honor in New York's Times Square. It was designed by Peter Jackson's WETA Digital Workshop and fabricated by Gentle Giant Studios, located in Burbank. The figure is over 20-feet tall and weighs in at almost 6,000 pounds. It was created out of foam, sculpted around an intricate steel framework, hard-coated and finally painted with over 25 gallons of paint. Over 300 pounds of synthetic hair were used, along with 7,200 yards of thread to create the custom weaves.
I am still the proud owner of the first and only Bad Taste fan shirt (home made) I used to wear when Meet the Feebles first was shown in a local independent movie theater in the shitty little town I grew up. Unsurprisingly, the theater has been shut down shortly afterwards.
I really love the Peter Jackson King Kong. The art design of Skull Island, the lore, the creature designs. Everything about it is so well thought out. It subconsciously influenced me in some of my own art and story ideas.
I still have the Natural History of Skull Island book that I received as a birthday present as a kid because I love the movie that much. It's just so well done. It made me want to learn more about Skull Island and the ancient civilization that lived there once. The way it handled the mystery of it was fascinating. It revealed some parts of the Skull Island civilization but left some things unanswered. So, you had some knowledge but not enough so you would want more.
Even when you learn of the current islanders who lived there are descendants of Micronesian explorers is interesting. You had these expert Micronesian navigators who got stuck on that island and they have been reduced to living like that. Like their double hull canoes got torn up by Skull Island's rocky coast line. If they couldn't make it what makes you think the SS Venture with it's steel hull could? Even then the SS Venture barely got out by the skin of it's teeth.
Also, learning about the later expeditions to Skull Island is fascinating. Even with more preparation they still couldn't account for everything and still get eaten by dinosaurs. Also, learning about how the dinosaurs survived on the island via it's geothermal vents which kept the island warm for them. The dinosaurs also evolve into this more bizarre form to fit the island. The Venatasaurus rex is cold blooded. In fact a surprising amount of the dinosaurs are cold blooded which is odd given dinosaurs are warm blooded. The creature design and lore for them are so well done. It is a great example of speculative evolution done right. The whole ecosystem of the island is so well thought out with varying parts of it.
