Day 110 (PART 2)

Had to put my favorite Nepeta ship for last, EriNep <3 I wish I could've done more for them but energy levels are low and I have one more surprise I gotta finish later today for my server's Rare-Pair Roulette!

So, continuing from the other post, this ship is one I see as starting out pale. Nepeta feels pity seeing Eridan floundering about without a moirail, making a fool of himself with others as he tries to get attention.

She swoops in, picking him up from his slump and having him follow her around doing all sorts of things while SGRUB goes on.

Eventually, Equius realizes what's going on. Though he feels concerned about this shift in dynamic at first, Eridan's immediate pitch-fueled attention on him flusters Equius, and the two start getting along pretty well.

During Meteorstuck, Eridan and Nepeta keep flirting with the idea of a flush romance instead, but Eridan feels an intense anxiety over the possibility that its just all in his head. He's already made the mistake of wanting something red with a moiral before, he doesn't want to go through another rejection like that again.

Eventually, Nepeta rolls up her sleeves and makes the first move herself, deciding once and for all that, yes, she does like him and she'd love to have him as her proper red romance.

Eridan is so happy, for the first few 'days', he constantly feels dazed and like this isn't real.

Presenting one of my favorite throuple dynamics: Meowrails + Eridan~! This triad friendship could've been so great :,o

Nepeta may have been the one who 'adopted' both Highbloods to look after them, but the both of them also settle into a deep understanding of one another, turned friendship as they continue hanging out.

They've felt lost as they've lost their status and the future promised to them. They're like old men reminiscing shit that was never great anyways, learning to move on and gaining more empathy together as if it's a new scientific discovery that they have to share among themselves lol.

Nepeta feels really happy that they can get along, and they feel indebted to her for always looking after their wellbeing.

I'm back! Gotta finish up February with the rest of the ships!! >:V

Ok so this Dirk x Nepeta was originally going to be for pale romance exploration of the two but when I ran my Nepeta Ships Poll a month ago, @dirknepz and @nepetapyrope both tagged them asking for flushed nonbin DirkNep and well, uwu I felt compelled <3

So, the Prince and the Rogue.

This is such a fun flushed ship!! Different flavors of autism meeting and influencing eachother deeply <3 Nepeta helps Dirk so much by guiding him through his emotions; as a Rogue, taking heart for him, saving Dirk from complete destruction.

Nepeta is cheesy, clingy, and likes to tease Dirk a lot to get as many reactions out of him as he can; finding it like a game. Dirk plays along eagerly, trying really hard and failing to keep himself from getting flustered by so much attention. It's overwhelming, but it makes him feel so good.

Together, they make a duo akin to a villain and his well-meaning, loyal henchman that makes sure things don't get out of hand.

Their godtier outfits are based on these designs by angsty-artist on Deviantart!

Day 106

Ship: Nepeta x Caliborn

Ship Song: 'You Told the Drunks I Knew Karate' by Zoey Van Goey

'I do the dumbest things for you / Why do I do the dumbest things for you? / I would be safer on my own / I didn't care, you were the most exciting thing I'd ever known'

For this ship, I thought it would be funny if Nepeta was dragged from the dead to annoy Caliborn and was protected from his murdererness literally by the meta power of dodging bullets because she is too loved by the audience (in the same way that Gamzee cant die just because Hussie said so).

So now Caliborn has to deal with talking to a girl irl and getting the consequences of his shittiness front and center.

I expect a lot of fighting and a lot of meddling in each other's business. Nepeta infiltrating his chats with the humans, influencing each other's shipping and art, Nepeta actually taking an interest and encouraging him underhandedly making him seek out her praise.

Caliborn also getting to be really into both 'being put in his place' (so he'll start arguments just for the sake of getting her to yell at him, something she'll catch up on), and having some unexpectedly, deliciously, disGUSTINGLY wholesome moments of getting closer to each other (Nepeta exploits the hell out of his tsundere flusterdness from simple stuff like a small touch or friendly words making him scream and run away.)

This is cringe but funny as all hell to me, hehe. I'm thriving a bit.

Day 105

Ship: Nepeta x Jane

How I'd make this ship work is going to sound very fanciful, but bear with me.

I went with the concept of, 'A Villainess and Her Pet'.

So in this, Fefeta was not formed (maybe it became Fefska or Fefros instead), and Nepeta alone was thrown into Jane's kernelsprite to become her guardian. She does a really good job at it and is a massive comfort for Jane through the teenage drama that happens as they wait for the game to start; becoming like an emotional support animal a moiral to her.

Through these positive interactions, Jane has forged a deep fondness for her and is more protective than the others towards her sprite, even while brainwashed. Their link helped the team capture Jane and keep her subdued for the preptime of the final showdown.

Then, they win Sburb and become gods. With enough time, Jane figures out a way to revive Nepeta, and they live together like they did while she was a sprite. Their relationship becomes more intimate with the pressure of survival now gone.

To Nepeta, Jane is so smart and has done so much for her. She could never repay her back properly or see herself living separated from her anymore. To Jane, Nepeta has become her invaluable soft spot; her number one person she can trust with any ugly side of herself and fawn over.

Through the good and through the worst, the narrative may make things harder, but together, they can rewrite Jane's fall into villainy.

Ship: Nepeta x Vriska

This ship is one I can see as being one of the most corrosive for Nepeta. Blackrom, Nepeta hates the things Vriska has done and wants to change her, Vriska loves to mess with and pick Nepeta apart. It's similar to Vrisrezi in a way, but with some major differences.

Terezi mostly enjoys fighting back through mind games and has no trouble agreeing with Vriska on certain dubious moral decisions. Nepeta's conviction for her moral compass is harder to break. Vriska and her dance with violence, enjoying full-fledged brawls and tearing into each other cathartically. They know they won't change the other; they're safe in knowing they'll always be at interesting odds with each other... or at least until one of them gets fully sick of the other.

Day 103

Ship: Nepeta x Sollux

Hate stumbles forward and leans in the door / Weary head hung down, eyes to the floor / He says, "Love, I'm sorry" and she says, "What for?" / "I'm yours and that's it, whatever" / "I should not have been gone for so long" / "I'm yours and that's it, forever"

I'll be honest here, Im getting burnt out on so many ships haha. I had a plan for Sollux that was much more serious and would involve an AU where SBURB didn't happen and he had to constantly be on the lookout not to get caught to be used, Nepeta helping and protecting him- BUT that would've involved a comic and I'm pretty spent.

Instead, another idea crept up on me as I had my most recent playlist on shuffle and the song up top got stuck in my head.

So here, we have post HS2 Sollux who's been through the wringer romantically multiple times. Losing both girlfriends, and again (for this AU) drifting apart from Aradia the more craziness around canon happened, he's grown pretty stoic to the whole thing.

He doesn't feel like he can hold, or even WANTS to hold onto a relationship.

Enter an Alt. Nepeta (not from his timeline), who has been his friend since the bubbles. She's stuck by him gleefully as maybe the first troll she saw since her death, and he just allowed it. More trolls came and went so their attentions would divide sometimes, but eventually, as everything was going to go to shit, Sollux decided to split from all the drama. Guess who tagged along?

They've been living together ever since! Now in Roxy's basement, with a life-ring resurrection, Nep is happily taking care of Sol, much to his complaint. He keeps pushing her to go out more, to do stuff, to have better friends but though she sometimes ventures out, it's never for long and she's always back to 'bother' him.

He hates himself for missing her when she's gone, and he hates it more how happy he is when she's back. He doesn't want to confront what this could actually mean; that their pale relationship was crossing something red.

Nepeta is aware of this, and patiently waits till he's ready to make it official.

Day 102

Ship: Nepeta x Jasprosesprite

Ship Song: 'Vivica' by Jack Off Jill

'She's empty and so beautiful, I'll keep her here with me.'

As much as I love Jasprosesprite and this ship, I've never been able to shake off the feeling of concern over how Jasprose talked over Nepeta during their Tea Party and reduced her feelings for Karkat as inconsequential.

So I decided that for today, I'd show this; an unhealthier version of this relationship. This Jasprose thrives off of being able to coddle and comfort a Nepeta who's been through the worst of everything; her death, a fusion, the death of a fusion, and now a third revival. Nepeta is heavily depressed and to top it all off, she gets to live through the game's ending seeing her childhood crush live happily with another.

Jasprose eagerly picks up the pieces and easily sweet talks Nepeta into a well-meaning, but manipulative relationship. Jasprose wants to be Nepeta's solution for everything, she craves being relevant and needed. She is possessive and smothering. Nepeta is complacent, barely allowing herself to feel satisfaction with being taken care of.

Maybe eventually, Nepeta will be able to get better. She'll start caring about things again and find out that she actually opposes a lot of things concerning Jasprose. Then, with her hold on Nepeta slipping away, it will be Jasprose's turn to change before she loses it all.

Day 101

Ship: Nepeta x Tavros

Ship Song: 'Kiss Me' by Sixpence None the Richer

'Oh, kiss me, beneath the milky twilight / Lead me out on the moonlit floor / Lift your open hand / Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance / Silver moon's sparkling / So kiss me'

Something cute, sweet, and simple for this ship <3 I loved their dynamic in their short pesterchum chat; rping and being sweet beans eager to play together. So for this, I imagine that although they're in seperate teams at first, once they disband and they meet up, Nepeta is very eager to continue purrsuing their friendship!

Tavros is concerned meeting her, and his meowbeast allergies start acting up but I think that with enough soft perseverance from her (and through multiple mandatory visits as her moiral is literally the one fixing and building him new legs), he learns to control his sneezing, as the problem was psychological. He reasons to himself that maybe it just activates with live meowbeasts, not dead ones.

The two greatly enjoy each other's company, gelling together like two peas in a pod! Equius 'allows' this as having Nepeta around helps keep Tavros calm for his leg fixes, and he doesn't see any threat in the bronzeblood.

They are really just good friends at first! Nepeta holds his hand whenever they walk somewhere together as an instinct ever since she helped him get used to walking again. She also fiercely defends him against Vriska, shooing her off. Vriska knows better than to mess with the moiral of someone as valuable as Equius, so while she resents that she's lost her control over Tavros, she still sometimes lingers to make the odd comment about them becoming flushed as a way to get under their skin.

Tavros likes Jade still, and Nepeta is very supportive of it! She helps a lot more with roleplaying and fleshing out his Rufioh persona so he doesn't come off as strongly, but he is still rejected as his confession is too soon. Nepeta invites him to therapy circle to jamfeel things out with her and Equius, showing some growth on Equius through tolerating his presence and even sympathizing for the boy. Still, things end in tragedy for him as he is called out to deal with Gamzee, and he dies from it.

Tavros and Nepeta though? Maybe they survive thanks to Tavros refusing to follow him, reassuring Nepeta that this might be something that is bigger than them. Or he might also cave to her insistence, follow, and end up dying trying to protect her.

Either way, there is a future for them where they grow closer through time, eventually accepting that their comfort with one another was irreplaceable.

Day 100

Ship: Nepeta x Jake

Ship Song: 'Oh Millie' from the show Helluva Boss

A classic, Boy-Meets-Girl, Girl-Impresses-Boy, Boy-Falls-Madly-In-Love trope.

I like to imagine for this that Nepeta meets Jake while he's still in his island, alone. He was scared because he's noticed something had been taking on the tougher lusi of his home, stuff even he hasn't had the gall to kill. After some investigating, he finds Nepeta holed in a cave (perhaps through Gamzee time shenanigans, she was trapped there?), offers her to stay with him, and the two start hitting it off immediately.

His feelings start as a one-sided infatuation that annoys his friends and brings, unfortunately, Nepeta into the crush drama as well.

Dirk and Jane are highly suspicious of her (maybe even a little judgemental); the usual angsty arcs ensue.

Nepeta is no dummy and catches on to everything having to do with the situation immediately. Slowly, she's able to integrate herself into the group and soothe hurt feelings (Rogue of Heart?). She befriends Jane with Roxy's help. She has a harder time with Dirk because he keeps running away from the situation, but through Hal (who has been guilting him for disliking someone who didn't do anything to spite him, she just came to be), he starts letting go of his pity party and unexpectedly, some nights, lets her in for some wholesome deep discussions about identity.

Throughout this, Jake naively brushed off his friends' attitude changes at first, focusing more on his pursuit of Nepeta, but she is very frank with him about how he should learn to read the room, and that they shouldn't 'date' until things were cleared up. He's avoidant at first, scared about how he's been perceived by everyone, but he comes around and asks Nepeta for help with talking to everyone again.

Stuff gets resolved easier and faster through their years, waiting for the other players to arrive. Nepeta and Jake go full redrom together.

Ship: Nepeta x Terezi

Ship Song: 'Puppy Princess' by Hot Freaks

'You know me as your boyfriend's goofy friend / I seem to have this effect on women / And your friends aren't as goofy as I am / I try my best to keep you entertained / Always laughing at the jokes you are saying / I nod my head when you make a point'

Neprezi AU where Nepeta developed a crush on Terezi instead of Karkat! Terezi has treated her with more respect than anyone else, and she also proves herself to be an *amazing* rp partner!

Things keep getting flirtier and flirtier between their characters. Terezi swears by it being just the natural progression of their narrative, but Nepeta can't help hoping that this means something more. It's hard to keep the fictional crush from seeping into reality for a lonely hermit girl.

She makes it a plan to confess once they enter the game! She wants so badly to live out those rps IRL!! She fights with Equius tooth an nail about getting to be a part of things, even if it meant being on opposite teams...

But once evryone meets up, nothing goes Nepeta's way. There's no time for them to be alone, Equius hovers way too much, threats keep coming and...

It's pretty clear that Terezi and Karkat... have something going on.

Day 97

Ship: Nepeta x Kanaya

Deep, girlish pining.

Nepeta doesn't crush on Karkat in this AU. Instead, she thinks the world of Kanaya; waxing poetry of her beauty and grace. Getting excited and nervous at the prospect of actually seeing her in person inside the game. Being so cute and tongue twisted when they're together, her demeanor changing completely when she's around.

Kanaya is too busy with her own recent heartbreak to notice the obvious signs of flushing. Instead, she just thinks Nepeta is cute and timid in general. She doesn't mind her visits, welcomes having an eager model she can work with and talk to. She becomes more and more endeared, even pampering Nepeta. But it's only as a friend.

Nepeta is happy she can get closer to her in this way, even if her fear of taking any chances prevents her from actually bridging the gap. She thought this could continue, that eventually, with enough time, the obvious would happen... and she'd finally be noticed.

Instead, she's stuck watching Kanaya meet Rose.
