I don't advocate the use of drugs. I've tried many but nothing as hard as heroin. But, I just finished reading #jerrystahl 's memoir, "Permanent Midnight" and though his meticulous detail of drug use made me cringe; it was well worth the read. Ben Stiller plays the role of Stahl in the movie adaptation. The movie is streaming on the app Tubi for free. Something in the words, "smiles of all the unseen beings in the world," really got me. As well as, "[y]ou'll see the world in a different way: as an awful, hateful place..." Stahl's sardonic writing is darker than the film. And much like other movies based on books, the content differs in some ways. The book is a great addition to anyone who favors dry, dark, wit. I read a few horror anthologies to make sure #HorrorFromTheHighDive is the best that it can be. #TheShining and #DoctorSleep were a classic and a relatively new #StephenKing work and I enjoyed them both a lot. #HowNotToDie is a great tool. #PermanentMidnight is a pitch black memoir. #TheShards is the latest work by #BretEastonEllis and so far only available via audiobook on his #patreon. It was a wild ride.
