Also FF7R has led me to imagine how HAPPY both women are when they become friends. Neither of them seem to have many women their age in their lives that they can truly bond with, and then circumstances force them to meet and work together/trust each other that it isn't surprising they'd connect on a deep and somewhat desperate level. They're both extremely lucky to know each other, and also extremely unlucky to have that friendship be at constant risk of ending because of threats to their lives. Both women have hearts so full of love and courage, which makes them strong and also so vulnerable 😭

In this scenario I'm assuming Sae is there to evaluate the emerging strikers of Japan and maybe having an inner wish similar to Chigiri's, if he doesn't make it here as a striker then he wasn't made for it. Not that he cares that much about being in Japan's nt to feel like he's risking his career.

We don't know enough about Sae but I assure you he would be hell to play with and against during the first selection. He'd berate everyone & tell them how shit they are without shame. In the second selection I could see him taking his time to pick his initial team and making strategies with them.

If they had to play against U-20, I could see him still choosing Shidou as the striker he wants to focus on, maaaaaybe they'd go with the "joker" strategy Ego was talking about where they'd sub out Rin and play with Shidou instead which would make Rin go INSANE. I can't imagine them having a normal conversation up to this point either.
