The gem au returns!!!
Got a little silly and started cranking out some designs
King Boo the Hackmanite. His gem is on the top of his head, and his weapon is a Prism, with the Light Constructs resembling the various ghosts from the Luigi’s Mansion games. Hackmanite gems glow under UV light, so that’s what the second color palette is
Toadette the Rubellite. Her gem is on her chest. Idk what her weapon would be yet
Captain Toad the Watermelon Tourmaline. His gem is on his forehead, and his weapon is a pickaxe.
Toadsworth the Dravite. His gem is on his stomach, and his weapon is his staff
Rosalina the Star Sapphire. Her gem is in place of her right eye, she has future vision and ice powers.
Daisy the Citrine. Her gem is on the back of her right hand, and her weapon is a gauntlet
Wario the Pyrite. His gem is on his right shoulder, and his weapon is a shield
Waluigi the Sugilite. His gem is on his left shoulder, and his weapon is a whip.

↳ warnings: fluff, parent!au, reader is a mother, i just wanted to write tobi as a daddy !!! pls he’s so cute i love him so so much. your baby boy says his first word and it’s not what either of you expect.
“it’s going to be mama,” you tell kageyama matter of factly. “his first word is going to be mama.”
you don’t need to look at the setter to know that he’s glaring daggers into your back while you prepare a fruitsnack for your baby boy. “how do you know that?” the glares only continue when you turn, holding out a bowl of mushed apples and peach to your son as he gargles happy sounds towards his parents.
“mother’s intuition, tobio.”
your husband scoffs, snatching the bowl from you so you have both your hands to take a seat at the table— sitting on the other side of your baby’s high chair. “well,” he starts. “you’re wrong, s’gonna be papa. ain’t that right lil’ man.” the man coos, hand becoming an aeroplane and garnering the interest of his carbon copy as he spoons the crude baby food mix past tiny lips and into a slobbering mouth. he claps chubby hands down on his high chair, kicking socked feet out when tobio spoon feeds him again. “see? daddy’s his favourite.”
“whatever,” you huff, but you don’t fight the smile that tugs on your lips watching the two of them interact. if tobio is your sun; then your little thirteen month old is your husband’s stars moon and night sky. he’s been kageyama’s favourite person since he was just a twinkle in either of your eyes— since you held up three pregnancy tests over a shitty facetime call when your husband was abroad, playing for his Italian team.
they’ve been inseparable since his birth, as soon as your boy was able to leave the house tobio had his baby carrier court side during practices for the Olympic team. your baby would laugh loud and proud whenever his daddy made super high jumps and sets for uncle hinata, whenever he and uncle tsumu got into little squabbles on the court. your baby smiles just like tobio does when you take him to italy for his first birthday— they’re the spitting image of each other, you’d find that with a quick swipe through your camera roll.
two sets of sapphire blue eyes and mops of black fluffy hair— it’s almost unfair how identical they are, he’s just barely got the slope of your nose and your lopsided smile and somehow the beauty mark you have dotting your left cheek, but still. he’s yours, and tobio’s a product of your love that your husband had cried over when he came into the world silent and not screaming like you’d hoped. only for a minute though, you’d later discover through sleepless nights that your son had a set of pipes on him.
oh how little kageyama had grown, how he’d changed your life as well as his daddy’s… so to you, it didn’t matter what his first word was— not really. it was just another moment for you to treasure and admire your boys.
“tell mama that i’m your favourite,” tobio grins, tickling your chubby little baby till you’re sure his cheeks are sore and you hum in content, resting your own cheek on the seat of your palm.
“not gonna happen, tobi, he’s a mama’s boy,” you interject and reach up, twirling a black strand of baby hair between your fingers. “say mama f’me honey,” it’s your turn to coo, lifting yourself from your seat to press kisses all over the right side of your son’s face.
kageyama mimics you, taking over the left side so that no area of your son’s face goes untouched. “nuh uh, we’ll see about that—!” neither of you expect the baby hand to slap down into his bowl of mush causing it to fly up and everywhere— smacking the father of your child in the face and ruining your counter tops. your baby squeals in amusement, slapping his dirty hands everywhere at the sight of his messy parents.
“no baby, don’t do that,” you whine, already reaching for the paper towels to clean both of your boys up. “so silly, huh baby?”
big blue eyes look up at you with unadulterated innocence— as if he hasn’t just destroyed your kitchen and ruined kageyama’s favourite shirt but you can’t stay mad at him, letting your pro volleyball player husband wipe the mush from his hands and face.
“you’re lucky your mum loves you bud, not even i could get away with this.”
“d-du!” your baby squeals back, making both you and kageyama freeze in your place— slowly looking back to him as he sweetly stumbles over his first word. “du-! duuu!”
you whip out your phone faster than you can say your son’s name— smiling at him encouragingly while he looks between his unsuspecting parents. “go on baby!! say mama, ma-ma!”
“nuh uh, daddy…da-da!”
your son blinks slow and then says. “dum’ass!”
tobio kageyana has never been more in fear of his life than he had right now— your gaze burning a hole in his shoulder while your baby gets his hands dirty in the moosh on his baby chair. “it was nice knowing you, baby.” the setter says solemnly, pinching his son’s cheeks.
“dududu—dum’ass!!”
“tobio—“
“dum’ass!”
kageyama squishes your baby’s face together in desperation, as you put away your phone to finish cleaning up. “c’mon sweetheart, you wanna grow up with your dad in your life don’cha?” he pulls your baby into his lap, making him wave to you on behalf your husband who’s matching blue gem eyes are begging for your forgiveness. “‘m sorry mama!” tobio coos in a baby voice.
“du’mmy!”
“you’re really hitting the nail on daddy’s coffin baby,” you can’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the pair, ruffling two sets of beautiful black locks and pressing kisses to their faces— an extra long, sloppy lingering one under tobio’s ears. “but i’ll deal with that later, sweetheart. you really need to stop calling uncle hinata names when you take our baby to practice.” you scold him.
but you’re hardly serious, not when your boys look at you with mischievous and loving blue eyes.

sapphire lies
a/n: hi!! I'm so excited for this !! let’s pretend mat barzal is a football player and not a hockey player lmao it just didn’t make sense to put him as a hockey player but i’ve been obsessed with him lately. also i have no idea if this will turn into a 3 chapter story, i hope you like it.
Blue eyes were adorned by stars that were only shown when a certain light would appear, as if a comet was shown in plain daylight time. A starlight she could only hope to see in her dreams, was it too selfish wishing that those eyes looked at her the way she looked at them?
She was taller, her arms were long and her fingertips were always colored by the season the year was on, her lips were plump as a peach, her hair was the prettiest shade you could never aspire to have, not even with a 12 hour shift at the most expensive salon; always adorned with a small bow that would match her clothes, this time, her bow was purple, her hair was put up in a ponytail, high enough to see the last name that would eventually hers..
“You look lovely” Robin said standing up to say hello to her future daughter in-law, “You are one to talk, you look fantastic” she said smiling at her, “Taylor, hi, i love your shorts you look so sporty today” That wasn’t true ,she was wearing a white shirt and denim shorts, she would’ve worn the jersey of the quarterback, but she didn’t.
joe b sent new message:
hey Tay i don’t mean to sound rude or anything but could you please stop wearing my jersey to the games? ik this is a weird thing to ask but i don’t want Kat to feel like she has any competition or anything.

Taylor didn’t reply to the text, in fact she cried like a newborn baby afterwards, she was really even planning on attending the game, but she knew Joe’s mom would attend, it became a tradition to watch his games together back when they were in high school. When he transferred to LSU, she was over the moon, Joe and Taylor had been best friends since she was 16 and he was 17, they met because Taylor needed a tutor in physics, and Joe needed a few bucks, their friendship skyrocketed since.
You sat next to Robin, your eyes were watching the game but your mind was somewhere else, you came to earth after the screaming noises that you heard beside you, LSU won 23-20 over the Auburn Tigers, you came back from your trance after Robin told you to come to the field with her and Katherine. It was a horrible idea, you were planning on leaving early but you couldn’t, as you stood there on the field, you watched Katherine jump into Joe's arms, kissing him and telling him how proud she was of him, she stood awkwardly, Robin was the next one to demonstrate her happiness of the winning game to Joe. He was called into the locker rooms after hugging his mom. As they were walking back to the sidelines to wait for him, an overwhelming feeling took over you, he didn’t peek at you, not even once;
“I’m going to head out I have a huge paper due tomorrow, it was nice seeing you” You said hugging Robin as she kissed you forehead “It was so nice seeing you, any chance I have and I’m taking you back home with me” she smiled, Taylor waved goodbye to Kat and made her way to her dorm.
She were out of breath, Joe came over that night, they had been sleeping together for about 4 months now, it was a sporadic thing that happened at what she thought was the right time. Contrary to popular belief, she wasn’t love with Joe before the sex started, not even a spark was there, Taylor knew he was hot, as fuck, Joe felt the same way about her.
The night it began she was wearing jeans and a shirt that showed off her collar, as she was talking and noticed Joe’s eyes drifting from hers, he began looking at her lips and then at her breasts, he was licking his lips and she were lost in the lust that now reined in his blue eyes. “Do you want to have sex?” you thought out loud, next thing you knew Joe’s back was covered in scratches and her neck and breasts were full of hickeys. But she didn’t fall in love with him for the great sex they were having, she fell in love because he was the last thing she saw before she went to sleep and the first thing she felt around you in the morning. He was warm everytime he was near her, he always smelled so manly, so clean and made her feel at home. There was a period of time when their encounters stopped being only sex, it became aftercare that became kissing without lust, it became Taylor falling in love with him.
“Someone is blowing up you phone” she said between kisses “Don’t worry about it” he said kissing attacking her lips, it was a heated moment, but sometimes, there is a feeling in your stomach that doesn’t leave “I-I think we should stop” she said stepping away from the kiss “Are you okay?” he asked “Yeah, I just” she stuttered “I’m not in the mood” she said looking at him, he leaned back and stood up, “We can watch a movie” she said looking up at him, “No, it’s fine I have to be up early tomorrow for practice anyway” Her throat closed.
What? Since he cares so much about waking up early for practice, he has gone to practice after a rough night. She saw him leaving your dorm that night, she didn’t hear from him in the next hours, she went to bed and chose to shut your thoughts.

It was so good seeing you doll. I’m leaving until Monday, I would love to treat you to brunch tomorrow. What do you say?
taylor:
hi robin!! i would love to, i was planning on going to the mall, if you want to we could go together too 🙂
And so she went, over brunch they only talked about the brunette , how she was doing and how was life back home, she missed her mom, Robin became kind of a second mom once her kid and Taylor started hanging out. She remembered the first time they met, Joe picked her up from a friends reunion and brought her home to make pumpkin pie, he had been waiting for that the whole week.She was the sweetest person ever, after going to Joe’s games the two became closer, she never had a daughter, she always said Taylor was the closest to knowing how being a girl mom would’ve been.
“Your hair got so long since the last time i saw you” Robin said looking at her, she loved spending just the two of them, there was a certain connection she could only have with her, they have known each other for a while now, 4 years sound so little but actually it felt like a lifetime together.
“Let’s take a picture to send to your mom” Robin said after about 4 hours of shopping, she took the picture, hugged her goodbye and parted ways. After driving to her dorm building, she took a shower, it was almost 4 and as much as she loved shopping with Robin, she was hard to keep up with.

How did I not know my mom invited you shopping
Could’ve asked Kat to go with you guys.
The happiness she felt on her stomach dropped after those messages popped on her notification center. Like a punch in the throat.
Taylor: what’s gotten into you? Do you not like me hanging out with your mom?
joe b: All I’m saying you could’ve asked my girlfriend to go too
Girlfriend, like an uppercut that was smashed to her face.
Taylor: not my fault your mom didn’t invite her??
joe b: Whatever just
joe b: She should start hanging out with my mom, and my mom needs to let you go.
Taylor: what does that even mean??
joe b: You do realize we are not boyfriend and girlfriend right?
joe b: Like whatever happened between the both of us ended a long time ago, you don't need to play daughter in law with my mom.
Taylor: You can come pick up your stuff from my dorm, I’ll leave it outside on a box.
joe b: Good.
That night, Taylor couldn’t stop crying, she lost her best friend, and the closest thing shehad to a mother, Robin was the one who helped her choose her prom dress since her own mom was too busy criticizing how her arms looked in that dress. Joe knew that, she called him crying after the heated encounter that had just happened.
A knock on the door woke her up the next day, too lazy to get up and open she figured that if she avoided it it would go away, it did. After a whole week of what it felt, a gut wrenching feeling that would not leave her body.
What changed on Joe to make her feel this way, was she not pretty, was she not smart, was she not what he was looking for? She never told him how she felt, there was never a need for it, everyone around them knew that.
Joe can recall a moment he felt his stomach turned of happiness, it was an off-season sunday, both of them were back in Athens, Joe’s brother hosted a barbecue and Taylor was his unmentioned +1, he picked her up and as much as he tried to hide his excitement he just couldn’t, his sisters in-law always got along with her, or as much as the age gap let them, his nephews were cray for her, and she as crazy for them too, playing tag with them in the backyard while looking as is she was made of angel dust, after staring at her, a familiar voice got him out of that haze.
“You are not fooling anyone son” His father said “Fooling with what?” Joe looked at his dad and chuckled, “You are in love with her” Joe chuckled again “How many beers have you had dad?” His dad looked at him and laughed. Shortly after Joe went inside to change his shirt since the smoke was impregnating his clothes, after changing he stumbled up Taylor. “Hey, I was looking for you” she said “I gotta go but thank you so much for having me” she said half hugging Joe, he was confused “What? You’re leaving so early! We haven’t had dinner yet” “I know and I’m sorry, I promise I will make it up to you” Joe walked to the door to grab his keys, “No worries, I ordered an uber” she said putting her hands on his chest “It’s already here” she said opening the door and closing it so Joe couldn’t walk her to the car. He was confused, but he was also quick, she didn’t get in an Uber, she got into a car and was greeted by a guy he was very aware of, Mathew somehow knew a friend of a friend of a friend from Taylor, they met on a party one night, they were not dating, she thought he was cute but didn’t felt like the one she was looking for.
Joe held onto that memory for the longest time,he didn’t know who the guy in the car was, couldn’t see his face, he felt bad about her leaving him and his family to see some other guy. But he couldn’t complain, he had done that two or three times, maybe more, using football as an excuse to not go with her to the movies or shopping. Mat and Taylor stopped seeing each other afterwards, he was a quarterback for Michingan and was insanely gorgeous, also one of the best in the league, LSU and Michigan played against each other on the season, and that’s when Joe knew who he was, he told some of the defense guys to tackled him harder, later that night, after the win Taylor was wrapped around Joe’s arms, He won both matchups that day.
Tired from her pity party, she decided to go out that night, her girlfriends were more than happy to go and have a nice dinner as long as it meant to dress up cute. They laughed so hard that night and took a bunch of pictures, she posted one to her story and went to bed that night.

barzal97: I’m playing LSU next weekend, wanna come?
And she did, wearing Michigan gear, sitting with Mat’s friends and having a great time. There was no point in going to the game and being on the other side if Joe wasn’t willing to be nice to her, LSU won 21-17 that night. But she was more than happy to see Mat.
After the game, Joe went to see his family and girlfriend, realizing a short brown eyed was missing, “Hey Mom, did Taylor come?” he asked her very quietly “I don't know honey, she didn’t sit with us, maybe she was in the stands” Robin half smiled at Joe, he knew she wasn’t there after all he wouldn’t blame her. Later that night, Joe found out she was sitting on Michigan’s side after a text from one of his friends. He was so mad and so heartbroken at the same time.
joe b: Really? Wearing Barzal’s gear, that’s low even for you.
He regretted sending that text and as much as he tried to deleted it, Taylor already saw it,
taylor: What is your problem dude? You’ve been acting like a dick lately.
taylor: you were the one who told me to stop hanging out with your mom, now that I’ve done that, ur pissed off about it give me a break you big baby.
Stop hanging out with my mom doesn’t equate to wearing someone else’s jersey, Joe thought to himself.
joe b: Tell your little boyfriend that he will always lose you to me, I had you first.
joe b: I’m sorry tay i shouldn’t have said that.
The last message didn’t go through.

i rly need to see headcanons of mario trying to propose and being nervous as FUCK nearly passing out
and trying to make it perfect and peach is already loving it and he barely got 3 words out of his speech

Toadsworth has been getting teary-eyed and telling Peach out of nowhere how she’s grown and how proud of her he is. She knows based on that alone that a proposal is imminent (and that Mario asked for Toadsworth’s blessing ahead of time, and if she didn’t already love him enough…); when Toadette and Daisy insist she dress up for what’s supposed to be a casual date (“Just for funsies!”), and when she shows up to find Mario in neatly pressed jeans and a clean button-up, hatless and gloveless, she knows exactly what’s going down.
He’s awfully jittery considering they’re just having a picnic at Shooting Star Summit, fumbling the plates, talking way more than usual, downing an entire glass of champagne in one go before pouring himself a second serving. Peach, equally jittery, pretends not to notice, because she knows he wants to make this perfect.
Eventually he invites her to stand at the edge of the summit so they can watch the sunset, and after a few moments of silence he starts prattling, slow and stilted, about how lovely the scenery looks from here, and how he loves this place both for its beauty and because it’s where he met her, and how he’s so glad he can stand at her side, because they’ve been through so much together and he loves her, and he wants to watch sunsets with her at his side for a very long time, like forever long… the sun’s nearly gone by the time he gets to the point, and Peach just lets him babble on until he’s ready, tears in her eyes, because for how uncertain his wording is, it’s clear every word comes from the deepest depths of his heart.
He finally gets the nerve to look at her, his face filled with both trepidation and excitement, and Peach just nods at him with the biggest smile; realizing that 1.) she knows what he’s about to ask and 2.) her answer will be yes, he gets that last burst of confidence he needs to get on one knee, offer her a tiny pale sapphire set into a silver band, and ask if she’ll let him stand at her side forever.
What follows is a lot of laughter, a lot of tears, a lot of kisses placed all over each other’s faces, because this has been a long time coming and it was absolutely perfect and Mario’s just! Just so happy he didn’t screw anything up! And that lasts until he goes to put the ring on her finger… and realizes it’s no longer in his hand.
Let this be a cautionary tale: if you propose at the summit of a mountain, make sure the ring is securely on your partner’s finger BEFORE you throw yourselves at each other in an impassioned embrace. Or maybe just don’t propose someplace where you risk mistakenly yeeting said ring to its doom a hundred yards down.
They find the ring safe and unscathed some layers below where they were standing! And even if they hadn’t, Peach would’ve been no less overjoyed for the incident, but that doesn’t stop Mario from issuing a hundred thousand apologies to her over the course of the next week.

Apprearance: Opal is a gem with very long white hair that is tinted in rainbow colors and eyes that appear light green. They have the standard uniform with a black top, shorts, white undershirt, black tie, black heels, and opera gloves with unique white stocking with frills at the top. When its summer, they change to a summer uniform.
Personality: Opal is a gentle gem and always held a air of serenity and grace with every step they took. They appreciated nature and life, and always tried looking at things in a positive light.
When Opal was younger, they were more rambunctious and liked getting into quarrels and trouble, even if they got broken in the process. Pink Star Diamond would take them under their wing.
Its stated that Opal liked to mimic Pink a lot.
Opal has a distant air to them, especially considering how many partners they have lost. They feel older and wiser, considering they are currently the oldest gem still standing after many centuries.
History: Opal was formed over 8,000 years ago, and grew among gems who would be taken away long ago.
One of the gems Opal loved to hang out with was among the strongest of them; Pink Star Diamond. Opal admired Pink Star Diamond, and always wanted to follow after them, regardless if they were heading to fight Lunarians or simply patrol. Because of how determined Opal was to learn from Pink Star Diamond, Sensei assigned Pink Star Diamond to become Opal's mentor despite Pink Star's reluctance to train a gem with a significantly lower hardness level than themselves. However, Opal and Pink Star Diamond grew as close companions to the point Pink Star Diamond and Opal would share personal details such as their own insecurities and worries.
However one fateful day while Opal and Pink Star Diamond were taking over the winter term, Opal was nearly shattered by Lunarians until Pink Star Diamond took the blow, being shattered instead of Opal and taken by Lunarians. Sensei would arrive in time to send them away and comforted the shaken Opal.
Because Opal desired a new partner to fill in the void Pink Star Diamond gave them, Sensei would give Opal partners throughout their long life, all of which eventually shattered ans taken away as well. First it was Peach Sapphire, then Demantoid, then Citrine, then Pink Morganite, and finally Trapiche Emerald. Because of Opal's bizzare innability to keep partners around without them shattering, all gems have nicknamed Opal the "Partner Shatterer" and was the subject of baseless rumors that stated that if someone were to be partnered with Opal, it would only be a matter of time before they too would be taken soon.
Opal is among the only surviving elder gems that was still around during Rubellite's creation, being partnered with Malachite who would be upset to be partnered with the notorious "Partner Shatterer", Opal.
In Houseki no Kuni / Land of the Lustrous Canon: Opal would eventually be shattered before Phos's time. Afterwards they would become Lunarian and be prayed away.

HELLO AGAIN ‼️ SO THIS ONE'S A LITTLE BIT LONG
i basically need ideas for a few gems in certain courts (all of them being my diamond ocs):
some gems in a red diamond's court as well as their potential jobs (one being the RD equivalent of a peridot)
as well as some gems (potential jobs included if you want) for a midnight diamond, a bi-color (pink/blue) diamond, indigo diamond, mint diamond, peach diamond and sky blue diamond
(about like 3 gems per diamond)
as well as a name for a fusion between a red diamond and a rose diamond (not some weird combination of RQ and PD)
Red Diamond's court: Well, Rubies, Pink Star Sapphire, and Carnelian would be good canon gems for the Court. Pyrope, too, who was seen in the games!
Cinnabar and crocoite could be good for some type of poisons master role?
Painite would be a good elite soldier.
Coral and Hubnerite are some good aristocrats, I think?
Lake Superior Agate, Red Jasper, and Ferruginous Quartz are good red Quartzes??
For Peridot... maybe Proustite?

Never got the motivation to properly draw the next part so y’all get the sketches + infodump!!!

And then there’d be a cool fight between them, and then Mario would be like “we can’t beat him on our own” and then they’d fuse and then an even cooler fight scene. And then Fluorite would be like “well 3 against 2 is hardly fair” and then BAM he pulls out the Chaos Heart and fuses with it. Whaaaaaat the Chaos Heart was actually a gem?! No way!
Wow bro learned to stand- uh I guess they’d be called Super Fluorite or something. And in the midst of the battle, they’d drop this big lore bomb
Woaahhh that’s crazy!! This is Magenta Spinel, aka Shadoo/The Pixl Queen. I’m going off the theory that Dimentio is the Magician’s son, and that the Pixl Queen becomes Shadoo (I don’t remember if that’s confirmed or not)

I didn’t draw them with eyes since in the comic it was going to be in same style as the episode “Your Mother and Mine”. Plus I didn’t know whether to give them a single Sapphire eye, or two eyes- mainly because whenever I tried to draw the single eye it looked weird. Merloo = Green Sapphire, Merlight = Teal Sapphire, Merlumina = Star Sapphire, and Merlimbus = Magenta Sapphire

Here’s some experimenting for the Mario + Bowser + Peach fusion (I was thinking maybe Sunstone), as well as a Mimi + Mr L fusion cuz I love those lil green guys

Ooooo some little guys. When I was working on the plot stuff I was playing through M&L Dream Team, so I wanted to include them somehow, and the Dreamy Luigi’s fit perfectly with the fact that gems of the same type look very similar. Also Dreambert is a Peach Moonstone.
The Malachite and Super Dimentio comparisons don’t stop here, cuz y’know that scene where Steven is in her mind and sees Lapis and Jasper? Yeah there’s a scene of that with Fluorite. And our lil pillow boys are apart of that process

So idk if this has been asked before or not. But I’m going to throw it out there. What birthstone are the twins falling under? And what about the rest of the crew, if they were born in our world? It even what astral sign would they all fall under if that’s easier???
Sorry this took me so long to answer I was trying to see if I'd answered anything about birthdays before and i can't find anything so uh... are we talking about zodiac stones? That's easier for me, so...
Note that i don't really have set birthdays for anyone. non-canonically the Mario Bros, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Wario and DK would all have the same stone because they were all a batch of star children together, but that's not as fun. Also, I firmly believe Mimi was lying about her birthday in the Merlee quiz and she just picked a date that rhymed.
