ok ok so my professor came up to me before class a few weeks ago and i was a little worried when she brought up the short writing assignment I did the day before on Unpacking but after I confirmed that I wrote it she smiled and told me how a guest lecturer was going to take up that exact game as part of their lectures on LGBTQ+ videogames and I shit you not I was so excited.

SO flash forward to now and that guest prof just finished their intro lecture, mentioning how their next one will actually focus on the game. After the lecture I walk up to them in all my youtuber merch glory, introduce myself, mention the writing assignment (which apparently the guest prof already knew about bc my prof told them??? crazy) and the prof asks me what I think about the game, and I think they were kinda hinting about the ex-boyfriend's room and how they were going to discuss the story implications of it???

but apparently I was one step ahead of them and told the prof about how I was inspired from a "streamer I watched" (cough RTGame cough) and how I've found that level 100% more enjoyable when I stopped giving a shit and just messed with the boyfriend's shit, inconveniencing him however possible and guys. GUYS.

the way the professor's eyes LIT UP dude, they even giggled when I told them about folding the boyfriend's fancy suits and placing his coffee shit on the highest shelf, and they told me that they were going to open their game just to replay that level and try what I did and man. MAN.

this lecturer has no involvement with my actual grade, but I definitely feel like I just got an A+ in making that prof's DAY.

hey can there be more content of gordon being a morally grey character. like yes i love it when hes a cool dad and great person and All Of That. but i feel like some of us didnt watch the same videos? that guy killed so many people and shot his friends so many times etc etc etc. he is Not a good person and i love him like that. if we were to take the whole 'it wasnt a videogame and these characters have a life beyond them and live in a world with morals' view of it all that is. gordon in canon it was a videogame world is a bit more complicated but i still love him like that.

Hello everyone! We are a small team looking for a couple of 3D animators who would like to join us for our next project "Frogwater"; a 3D action platformer in a world  defined by the bounds of a storybook. The current story, though it's being ideated as we speak, goes as such:  "One day, a young boy performs a ritual that kills the world; replacing  the world that once existed with that of a storybook they were reading.  Almost all the people around the globe get teleported to a pocket realm  while the rest perished, as the earth that once existed winks out of  existence. The survivors find themselves in a strange new world, one  that is written by the rules of a children's book."

Some of the game mechanics we are looking to implement are:

3rd person platformer movement (jumping, sprinting, climbing, horse-riding etc.);

combat mechanics based around a bow and arrow (different arrow types, free-aim, lock-on projectiles etc.);

exploration mechanics (distinctive features and landmarks, as well as signposts, other in-game exploratory tools).  

Please keep in mind that this is a passion project; it  is unpaid and the developers are expected to work in their own time with  weekly meetings with the whole team. All communications go through  Discord, as all of our staff work remotely - most of them based in  Europe.  Education in the field is not required as your fit for the project is decided based on your portfolio. We encourage anyone interested in this project to get in contact with us via Discord at Scythe#4396 before the beginning of March, which is when the project will begin.  

sometimes when i play games i enjoy, i’ll just sit and realize.

realize that someone took the time and effort for this. even if hundreds of people worked on this game, someone still came up with the idea. someone dreampt it up and let their vision flow into a river that snowballed into a game.

characters were made, painstakingly designed with care as their models were sculpted from the ground up, meshes were woven, 2D art was created.

music was composed and delicately played in a symphony of care and love. sound effects hand-picked to nurture the player’s view of the world, to then blossom into a light of storytelling and magic.

the gameplay, poking holes into the world and holding everything together at the seams.

hell, even if it’s a cash grab videogame, i can’t help but appreciate some part of it.

someone had to sit down, and get this ball in motion.

someone had to create.

someone had to make a dream something tangible. something visible.

videogames are like a source of magic. i wonder if our ancestors, the ones that held pantheons of gods close to their hearts, would see us as messengers for some higher deity.

we may not be gods, but we can dream.

Here is a prototype logo I've made a bit back for my massive WIP project, "Our World of Dreams"! I plan on changing the logo very soon (the word "Enter" has been removed) but here's the first one I made to tie us over till then!! I'm super excited to share this project!!

Our World of Dreams is about a group of five young animals who join a magic academy in another realm made out of pure hopes, dreams and joy. Together they learn how to become Bringers of the Rainbow, a group who nourishes and protects the hopes, dreams, and joy of everyone from evil parasites whose only goal is drain all the hope and joy in the world and replace it with bleak despair.

TBN: The equivalent of our own home! No magic originates here!

Elpithion: The realm made out of hopes, dreams, and joy! A place filled to the brim with wondrous magic!

Vrativor: A place of pure despair

Elpithion is filled to the brim with magic! Individuals can unlock one of the five types of magic based on which one resonates with their soul the most! Each magic type also has an island that corresponds with it! These types of magic are-

This project is still in very early development but it's largely inspired by magical girl and young witchling series, such as Little Witch Academia and Jewelpet Twinkle. On a more silly note it was also slightly fueled by my desire to give Gummie an original home XD
