the only people that say that comic books arent hard to get into are the people that have been reading them since they were a kid. and the only people that say that comic books are too hard to get into so you shouldnt try are the people that have never bothered opening a comic book.
#as a bitch that got into them like 2 years ago. its fuckin hard#especially if you dont like not knowing things#however its not as hard as some people want u to believe#like one of the first books i read was batgirl 2000. fantastic entry book#first of all its amazing second of all you dont really need a lot of prior knowledge to understand it#but even then. it gets confusing.#since i didnt know a lot about other big events i didnt know what was going on in any crossovers#like ok um why is bruce wayne being convicted of murder rn.#like when i was getting into comics i had wikipedia open for like half the comics i read#i think the hardest part is finding a starting place#then continuing to expand from there. like there’s so much and it’s HARD#and sometimes saying ‘just use a reading guide for a character you find interesting’ um. does not work#my rose reading guide is my baby but it is NOT a good starting point for people that haven’t read comics#anyways i’m sorry this is not meant as a slight to anyone#i just love to give my two cents all the time

hi yes I'm doing great and fine at college why do you ask :) (<< person who barely contained crying all the way back to her dorm and then broke down once she was in her room bc her government professor told everyone at the end of the first class that they're going to see horrible things in life and it's ok to be bothered by them, you don't have to constantly 'other people have it worse' about everything and so never let yourself feel the hurt over something and then went on to give everyone in the class a Tim Keller book to help cultivate personal devotions bc freshman year is hard)

#the 5yncri5e songs have been going OFF they are unreal how good theyve all been so far#i was originally a little annoyed at the 5 member subunit situation i kinda wanted like.#i dunno three groups of three and one of 2? or maybe two of 3 one of 4 and one duet?#and i was particularly annoyed because they put who i consider like some of the strongest singers in such a big group#(chisato and especially shiki's seiyuu. chisato's a bit of dark horse in that people dont notice how beautiful her vocal expressions are)#(at first until they listen closer. but shiki's seiyuu came out swinging man her voice is fantastic)#(rich and powerful but also so expressive. one of my absolute fav voices in liella)#i was worried they would shaft them and not give them enough lines or something but MAN i did not have to worry at ALL#their voices are SHINING along with tomari and kinako. natsumi's been a little shafted tho#i hope later songs will have more natsumi.... but man jellyfish. tomari's like. thin but melodic voice has been FANTASTIC#in their previous song a little love her and kinako kind of own that song. both high and thin voices but kinako is a little flatter but mak#makes up for it in expression and again tomari's is beautifully melodic so their parts around the synth breaks#where they say 'a little love...' SO GOOD so good. and of course everyone sounds great in jellyfish#this one is fully a tomari joint and she OWNS the upward lilts. the lilts. do you hear me? do you hear the lilts#so so good. i like some catchu songs (kage asobi is great) and im really liking the newest kaleidoscore single#but 5ynchi5e has been OWNING the subunit game rn for me. maybe i just like glossy dance pop HJFKDSLHJDKs#i do NOT like their subunit name tho STOP putting numbers in the names#i liked it with qu4rtz but i did NOT like it with r3birth and i really dont like it with 5yncri5e. #The other adults can be there too#Like Mr. B as the bookish kid and Garrison as part of the STEM club#(they impeached her as president because she kept pushing them to do *slightly* illegal activities)#OR#Even better it's like all of them being school teachers of different subjects#Curtain's still theatre and Milligan's PE#But. Like. Fun PE where he makes up adventure scenarios to motivate students and plays fun music and gets them engaged#Mr. B's the librarian#Number Two's the shop teacher and she's scary good at it#Maybe she also helps with lunches I'm not sure#And Miss Perumal's the Home Economics teacher and she's fantastic but also teaches self defense because “It counts as Home Econ”#Wait maybe Curtain's the principle too but nobody listens to him and he just sends out crazed announcements through the PA system#And all the teachers listen politely and then are like “Anyways—”#Maybe Rhonda's the Home Econ teacher actually#And Miss Perumal's the geography/social sciences teacher#Actually that's much better#And she takes the kids on the best field trips#But she Rhonda and Number Two still teach self-defense#Curtain doesn't want them to but Milligan lets them into the gym after school's over and hangs out with them while they do it#Actually I've changed my mind Moocho is in charge of the school kitchen#And sometimes he sneaks Number Two in there and they experiment together#Mr. B is the absolute best librarian and he's just so nice and comforting and supportive#He teaches a course every semester about internet safety and how to properly fact-check things so you know what's true#He makes the library super calm and inviting and it's full of soft green plaid plush chairs#And they're not just in the open spaces either#There's lots of little hidden areas where people can go and sit and read if they don't want to be bothered#He lets kids take naps in there sometimes if they're having a bad day#And gives them tea and talks to them#And then of course his brother shows up and tells him off for letting a student skip class#And he apologises as bunch (But he doesn't stop doing it)
