Homemaking tip:
Get dressed and ready everyday. When I treat homemaking as an actual job, with a loose schedule and uniform, it helps me to really focus on my tasks and to see the value in them. I personally no longer wear leggings, I prefer to only wear skirts and dresses, that has become my uniform and I feel more productive when wearing it.

I'm Still Here - Chapter Three
Lee Bodecker (The Devil All The Time) x Femme Reader
In late 60s Meade, you’re married to Sheriff Bodecker, pregnant with your first child. On paper you’re the perfect couple – the respectable Sheriff and his homemaker wife. This should be one of the happiest times of your life…so why are the two of you living like ghosts? And is it too late to bridge that gap? Especially when your husband is playing a dangerous game.
Series Masterlist
Warnings: Violence, suggestions of potential violence towards pregnant character, guns, general bad guy stuff. Please forgive any technical errors in my knowledge of 60s police/guns!!!
Wordcount: 1.5k
Sorry...this was initially going to be one part but it grew into something larger than expected! So there will be a follow up to this chapter...and there should be one more after that. Thank you for reading! As always reblogs and comments are so appreciated ❤️

You found yourself back at the sink again. Not even doing any dishes. Just…standing. You rubbed your stomach as baby kicked and you gazed out into the world. Not much going on. This was always a quiet time of day as most of the wives on your street went over to Mrs. Brennan’s place to play Bridge. They sometimes half-halfheartedly asked you to join, and you would smile and say you’d think about it - even though you all knew you wouldn’t. Still, you did the dance.
With the wives out at Bridge and the husbands mostly at work or off out doing their business, it was always a nice break from the curtain twitchers and nosy drop-bys.
Your mind wandered to Lee, and you thought about what sketchy shit he could be up to at this time of day. You knew he wasn’t really at the farm. Did he really think you didn’t know? That you didn’t see those extra bills in his wallet? Didn’t hear his hushed voice on the late night calls? Hadn’t noticed the extra pistol he’d stashed at the back of the closet? Honestly, Lee. This was you.
You pondered on Lee for a moment before the speeding truck pulled you from your thoughts. You watched curiously through the window as it barrelled down the street.
Huh. That was unusual. You didn’t get much traffic in Brewer Heights. And certainly not like that.
It sped by the houses, screeching slightly as the driver slammed the brakes. You raised a brow as it came to a stop..right outside your house.
You immediately went rigid, something long dormant inside you now suddenly wide awake. Danger. Danger. Run. Your could hear your heartbeat in your ears.
But why…? This could just be a maintenance worker or someone who took a wrong turn. Why did you think-
You watched as two men left the vehicle, one burly, the other shorter but radiating authority. Both carried themselves with an air of men not weighed down by petty things like legality or morality.
And they were heading straight towards the house.
You knew immediately this was to do with Lee. You just knew. God only knows what shit he’d got himself tied up with. But the fact they were here now suggested something had gone horribly wrong. You briefly considered calling the station, but there wasn’t time. Your stomach swam with dread as you thought about where Lee might be...what condition he could be in...
...But you couldn’t think about that right now.
You had to protect yourself and baby.
You saw the men begin to stroll up the driveway and you broke into a sprint straight up the stairs. Adrenaline soared through your veins. You flung yourself into the spare bedroom and grabbed Lee’s shotgun. Then you clumsily keyed in the code to his gun safe and snatched the bullets he kept in there. You grabbed his knife in its sheath for good measure and stashed it in your brassiere.
They were banging on the front door now, but you knew they’d let themselves in soon. It wasn’t locked. You didn’t have long.
“Mrs Bodecker…you home?” Someone yelled through the door downstairs.
You loaded a bullet into the shotgun chamber and pushed the loading flap up. You repeated this until you had a full magazine and pumped the gun to ensure it was ready.
You took a deep breath and quietly moved behind the door, raising the weapon and tightening your finger over the trigger. Pointing the barrel towards the hallway, you waited.
You never thought you’d be back here again. But then life always works in strange ways. Thank god for muscle memory, at least.
You waited.
You rubbed baby.
And you thought of Lee.
*
SEVERAL YEARS EARLIER...
Deputy Lee Bodecker studied the Wanted poster carefully, leaning in closely to look at the face of the young woman in the grainy photograph.
“A cutie, huh?” Sheriff Finlay laughed as he approached Lee’s desk. “Hard to believe she’s got several felonies under her belt”.
“Sheriff, sir” Lee nodded as he sat up straight. The sounds of the busy police station echoed around them.
Sheriff Finlay grinned. “At ease, rookie. I don’t bite. Now, did the boys fill you in on the details of today’s operation?”
“Yes, Sheriff. We have promising intel on the notorious Cypress gang, lead by Bill Glover - alias Billy The Kid” Lee explained. “They’ve committed numerous crimes across the state…and beyond. Robbery. Arson. Grand larceny. Assault and battery…Uh…murder”.
The Sheriff smiled. “That’s right. The feds are all over them too. But if we’re the ones to take them in, that looks great for us. Good press. Commendations. Maybe some extra funding if we play our cards right”.
Lee nodded. He knew what a big deal this would be. He hadn’t been on the force very long, and this was the perfect way to make his mark and show he was more than just the rookie. This could firmly place him on the path to becoming Sheriff one day.
Finlay tapped his finger back down on the Wanted poster.
“And this one…well, we don’t know her real name. But she goes by Honeybee. We think she might be a runaway, but we don’t have much on her. Don’t let her youth fool you, Bodecker, she’s a mean shot. And a meaner mouth. Some of our guys have underestimated her before. So keep your wits about you, alright?”
“Yes Sheriff. I won’t let you down, sir”.
“Good to hear, rookie” Finlay patted him on the shoulder and headed to his office. “See you out there”.
Lee nodded and looked back down at the image. Honeybee.
Well...he would be careful.
But she certainly was pretty.
*
Your body dangled precariously out of one of the Volkswagen bus windows, firing at the cop car that was hot on your tail.
“Eat that, fuckers!” You shrieked as you blew out one of their tyres. The others hooted and cheered behind you.
You watched the police car jerk and swerve violently across the highway before finally veering off entirely. Its siren fading as it soon began to shrink into the horizon.
You sighed and pulled yourself back inside, reloading the pistol and placing it back in your holster.
“Great work as always, Honeybee” laughed Billy, his voice proud.
You gave a mock bow and the two of you shared a smile in the rear view mirror. His long blonde curls blew in the breeze from his open window, emerald eyes locking onto you.
“Anytime, baby” you replied. “I love you”.
Billy beamed back at you. “I love you too, Honeybee”.
Cosmo jeered and Violet scoffed but you ignored them like always. All that mattered was you and Billy. You’d do anything to make him happy.
*
“FUCK!” Sheriff Finlay yelled as the squad gathered round.
“That’s Cooper and Palmer with a blow out twenty miles back. Plus Stevens is in the back of an ambulance after the bastards left barbed wire out on the tarmac”. He shook his head and wiped his damp brow with a handkerchief.
Lee inhaled. He’d never quite been on the job like this before. It wasn’t like the traffic stops and bar brawls he’d cut his teeth on. He moved closer and tried to suppress his nerves.
Palmer gestured to the large farmhouse they all stood in front of. A rusty VW bus was haphazardly parked across the overgrown yard.
We think they’re holed up in here” Finlay explained. “We’ll split in two - group A - take the upstairs, B the downstairs. Keep your weapons drawn and your backs covered”.
Minutes later and Lee was guarding the rear of group B, with Sheriff Finlay leading the charge. The house was long abandoned, but there were signs of life - a few crumpled blankets, food packets and beer bottles strewn over the floors. Someone had definitely been sleeping here recently.
They were creeping through the dusty dining room at the back of the house, a man covering in each direction, when a flash of something flew past the doorway, immediately followed by the sound of feet crashing on wood.
“Go, go, go!” Bellowed Finlay as the men surged forward, guns raised. He motioned for them to go and turned to Lee.
“Bodecker! We’ll take this. Get back to the cruiser and call for back up”.
“Yes Sheriff” Lee said quickly as he rushed back through the house. He could hear Finlay shouting as the others chased the gang out into the yard.
He was vibrating with adrenaline as he sprinted back towards the front door, he got to the hallway just as-
“Not so fast, deputy”.
He froze, but his hand tightened around his pistol. He turned to find you pointing a gun right back at him, a smirk creeping across your face.
You were even prettier in person.
“Honeybee” he said quietly.
Your smirk morphed into a full blown smile. “Oh, so you’ve done your homework, huh newbie?”
He nodded. “As much as I can, anyhow.” His lips curled a little at the edges. If he was scared, he hid it well.
Your smile widened. You didn’t recognise this one, and by now you knew all of Finlay’s boys. You found yourself strangely drawn to his expressive blue eyes, though. His big, broad shoulders. That little smirk on his face. There was…something about him.
“And you are?”
“Bodecker”.
“Got a first name, Deputy Bodecker?”
“Lee”.
You grinned at him, your finger hovering near the trigger. “Deputy Lee Bodecker, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance”.
“Likewise ma’am”. He nodded.
Sorry…I had to split this chapter into two as it was longer than planned! But I’m very excited to reveal more about how they got married and Honeybee’s life changed ☺️ And what goes down at the house of course! Will let get to her in time?

“Antonov!” Roman yelled out. The brown haired man ran over to him, giving him a firm grip on the shoulders. “I heard you’re assigned the diplomat’s daughter!” Dmitri rolled his eyes. “I heard from a friend of a friend that she’s easy on the eyes, but 2 pairs of bodyguards have already been dismissed. Yet they are sending you alone,” He teased. Dmitri had heard the same thing. The other bodyguards were apparently “unsatisfactory” and not fit to protect the diplomat’s daughter. However, he hasn’t heard about her appearance. “Maybe Dima can make some relations,” Wiggling his eyebrows. Dmitri pushed him off, one of the more insufferable things about his childhood friend.
“I have no interest in starting any relations with an assignment. Much less a-“
“Ohh you dirty bastard, I was just talking about political relations. It would do well for the country to have their men open different borders, right?” He joked again. “Maybe you can find yourself a wife after the job? Get a hefty payout and big rock. Women will come flocking to you,”
“No they won’t,”
“Are you kidding me?” Roman said incredulously. “You’re not blessed with gorgeous looks like me-“ Dmitri elbowed him. “But you’ve got the brooding, mysterious persona,”
“What persona?” Dmitri asked. Roman tutted just patting his shoulder again.
“You won’t understand yourself. I mean you can barely tell when someone fancies you,” Roman paused. “Maybe just pay attention to a woman for once, you’d know a lot about one if you listen,”
Dmitri chuckled, “You son of a bitch!” He smiled.
Dmitri opened the file once more, noticing how the chauffeur scoffed. He flipped through the pages quietly.
Name: (L/N), (F/N)
Age: 21
“Father is a diplomat, mother is a homemaker.” He said aloud. “Spent 1 university year in East Germany followed by 3 years in Boston, USA…currently on a gap year before graduate studies in Britain.” Dmitri noted the numerous photos of you. Graduation photos, study abroad photos, pictures of you on beaches, and some sketchy candid photos. He looked at the recent portrait of you with your parents, Roman wasn’t wrong about you being pretty. You had a beautiful smile, very pristine appearance.
“We’re here,” The driver said, looking at him through the rear view.
“Time to find out for myself,” He thought. Dmitri followed the man, the house he was at was actually an estate. A Russian businessman who was a close friend of the diplomat’s allowed the daughter to stay with her workers. It was an old estate, nothing that is even comparable to most villages. Dmitri looked at the numerous pillars and the paintings that decorated its walls. So much for political ideology, the excess will live in excess.
A door opening caught his attention, he whipped his head to see an older woman. She walked over, introducing herself. “You must be Mr. Antonov. I’m Emelia, Madame (L/N)’s caretaker. I heard many wonderful things about you,” She paused. “Come, you may impress us but it is truly the Madame’s impression you need to focus on. Be prepared, she’s quite fickle.” Dmitri walked up the grand stairs, listening intently to the caretaker and her speeches about the estate. She abruptly turned around, “I must say…since you’re by yourself and you seem intelligent enough. I do hope that you understand the Madame is just going through a lot. She’s kind but has such a cold exterior. Please understand,” We stopped in front of the numerous portraits of the businessman and his family. Emelia gestured for Dmitri to look at one particular photo. “This is the little miss,” He looked at the childhood photo, playing on the estate grounds. It was a young girl, with a few missing teeth smiling. “Please make yourself comfortable, the bathroom is right down the hall,” Emelia said as she let him sit on the sofa.
He laid back, looking at the patterned walls and the decorated ceiling. It really was a small palace when he thought about it. He smoked a cigarette waiting for the Madame to come out of her room, getting up and walking out. He walked down to the opposite end, admiring the plethora of paintings and family portraits. Until he heard giggling coming from one of the rooms.
“I have another bodyguard interview,” A woman’s voice said. He heard some chattering over a phone line. “How many more of these do I have to go through? I didn’t even look at the photo they sent me. Can you believe it, Milner? They sent me a catalog of men to choose from this time,” She laughed. “Let’s hope he’s not grotesque or disgusting,” She joked. He scoffed, until he heard the woman put the phone down. He hurried to the empty room, leaving the door ajar. From the crack he saw the back of the Madame. She peeked around the hall eventually closing the door .
He hurried back to the living room, just in time as he heard the click of the Madame’s heels down the hall. When the Madame walked in, he was stunned. She was much prettier in person, her hair was perfectly styled, pretty lips, and beautiful facial features. The way she carried herself was unbelievable. She wasn’t just easy on the eyes, she was beautiful. Dmitri had never seen someone so poised. Unbeknownst to him, he had sat up straighter. Daring to look at the one feature he had glossed over: her eyes.
“You must be the new bodyguard they sent,” She said, stalking around the opposite couch, grazing her lace gloves hand over it, observing him from head to toe.
“Yes, I’m Dmitri Antonov,” He spoke. “What do I call you?”
“My employees call me Madame (L/N). However, I would much rather have you call me Miss (L/N),” Dmitri nodded. She raised an eyebrow at the cigarette put out on the plate. It didn’t fall past Dmitri, he felt his face growing hot. “Tell me about yourself. What exactly makes you qualified? I’m curious because you’re alone,”
“I’ve had international experience before. Other than my mother tongue I also speak English. I’ve served before, as well,”
“Anything else?“ She said sternly.
“The pay is good too,” She raised her eyebrows again. Dmitri could have sworn he saw a smile.
She noticed Emelia walking past the room, stunned at the sight before her. “Honesty can only get you so far Mr. Antonov,” She whispered. “Let’s continue this conversation in English. Speak freely and as you wish, my employees aren’t fluent in English,” She paused, crossing her legs. “I must say Mr. Antonov, I’m impressed by your extensive language skills, I wasn’t expecting that. Looks can be quite deceiving,” Excuse me? “You’ll get your status in due time. But can I be honest with you Mr. Antonov, please work on your…etiquette,” She said as she eyed the cigarette once more. “I need to keep up appearances. Please understand,” She said in a vindictive manner.
Who does she think she is? He watched as she had a smug appearance. He almost hoped he was barred from taking the job ever. “Of course Miss (L/N). I wouldn’t want to embarrass you by being…grotesque or disgusting,” He got up, watching her raise her hand to her mouth. “Hope to hear of my job status soon, am I dismissed?”
“Yes,” She said curtly. “Please follow Emelia. We’re done here,” He watched as she stormed off into her room. So much for the pay, he was definitely not getting the job now.
Over the next few days, Dmitri had been mulling over the conversation. It was much worse than he could imagine. He hasn’t been called down to the boss, but he was absolutely seething. The way she grazed his eyes over him, nitpicking and judging everything he does. It’s clear she has her nose in the air, but one thing that stuck with him was her comment.
“I must say Mr. Antonov, I’m impressed by your extensive language skills, I wasn’t expecting that. Looks can be quite deceiving,” He remembered her saying. He hated the way the scene was burned into his mind. The laced finger tapping her lips, the condescending tone, her eyes, It was as if her eyes burned him, until he felt like a pile of ash. He was taken out of his thoughts by another employee of his.
“Antonov! Mr. Nazvanov wants to see you. It’s about your assignment,” He said. “You know I was actually one of the bodyguards who didn’t get the job,”
“Really?” Dmitri questioned. “What was the woman like?”
“She didn’t say anything. One swat of the hand and we were dismissed,” Odd. She didn’t even talk to them. “I mean. She didn't even look at us! She was silent! It was scary!” He joked.
Dmitri saw her face clearly. Nothing that blocked her features. She had a full conversation with him. “Are you telling the truth?”
“Yes!” He said incredulously. He said, opening the door to Mr. Nazvanov’s office. “You’ll probably have the same fate as the rest of us. Say hi to the next guy will you?” He whispered.
Mr. Nazvanov gave Dmitri a big smile. “Good morning, Dmitri, how are you?”
“I’m very well,” The man smiled.
“It’s been a few days since your interview, how did it go?” He asked.
“It was fine,” Dmitri replied. “We had a nice conversation I think,”
Nazvanov gave a hearty laugh, his toothy grin shining bright. “I knew you would be different. Just letting you know that tomorrow, Miss (L/N), would like to give you your status in person as well as have lunch with her?,” He flipped through a file. “What exactly did you say to her? I’m impressed,”
“Nothing too offensive I hope?” He wasn’t looking forward to going back to the estate, much less facing the woman he had been thinking about the past few days. It’s not like he can take another job as well paying as this one.
Finally, the place was calm once again. No strangers, no bodyguards, no interviews. You looked out at the expanse of land, nothing could be seen for miles except some mountains and trees. While it wasn’t your top pick, you had been extremely indebted to your father’s friend.
“Madame (L/N), lunch will be ready soon. Please get ready and head downstairs. A guest of your father’s will be coming,” You headed to the bathroom. You had always admired the vintage French styled interior — Emelia never let you forget about the history of the house. An homage to the businessman's late wife, a refined woman from Occitanie. It’s one of the finer things about having culturally knowledgeable people work for you. You relaxed in your porcelain bathtub, letting the aroma of aloe, bluebell, and chrysanthemums relax your body, lolling your head and noticing the unused ash tray that decorated your bathroom counter.
“Of course Miss (L/N). I wouldn’t want to embarrass you by being…grotesque or disgusting,” You remembered him saying. You sunk your head into your hands. How embarrassing, he must have overheard you when you were talking on the phone.
You remembered saying that line, flipping open the file that was sent to the house. This was the first time you had even opened it, thinking the interview would be like the rest. You were met with a photo of a man in his early 30s, dirty blonde hair buzzed short, clean shaven with very striking eyes. Even in the photo, it felt as if he was looking right through you.
When you heard a noise outside of your room that day you immediately hung up and went to check. Nothing in the hallways, just the faint smell of tobacco. When you closed the door you looked at the clock, noticing the heavy footsteps that walked to the end of the room. You came outside to smell the tobacco again, and just like that it was gone. It made your heart race, the smell was so unfamiliar something you haven’t smelled in a while, it was captivating. Everything was so pristine and orderly, but the smell was something that was not familiar in your home.
When you walked in, you noticed the bodyguard slouched back on the sofa. The same one from the photo. He was more handsome in person. His eyes more sunken in, a tiredness to his face, and eyes that made you question yourself. Who was he? Everything that could ever be but the one thing that stuck out the most was that same tobacco scent. He must have been the one that made that noise in the hallway, he heard you say you hoped he wasn’t grotesque or disgusting. And he wasn’t, but you weren’t going to let him know that.
When you walked into the dining room, it was surprising to see him again, already digging into his plate. You weren’t expecting him, you weren’t expecting anyone. Mr. Antonov looked up, gave you a toothy grin and shoved a large piece of omelet into his mouth. Emelia walked in, gesturing you to sit down in your usual chair, right across from the man you interviewed days ago. You couldn’t look him in the eye. It was too embarrassing. “Madame (L/N), Mr. Antonov will be your new personal bodyguard. I have already arranged for the maids to clean the adjacent guest room. Since he’s your personal guard, he will be staying at the estate,”
“But Emelia I didn’t sign off on this? Who authorized this?”
“Your father,” She said sternly. “He’s been quite impatient. You know he just wants to protect you.” You huffed. Picking away at your food. This is unbelievable! You thought that you could just push it off but it has been decided. You glanced at Dmitri, seeing that he had cleared his plate, patting his mouth with the cloth. You tried your best to just focus on your food but everything was wrong.
After lunch had ended, it was suggested that you and Dmitri get to know each other. “It’s only natural, I won’t be on your trip to Yakutsk, remember?” She said, “Please (f/n), now that we’re alone, try to get to know him. When I’m not there in a few months I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable with a stranger,”
You both walked the halls in silence. It felt like your whole body was burning up, you couldn’t stand to look at him. You felt angry. Angry at your father for not being here. Angry at yourself for whatever reason you couldn’t comprehend.
“Lunch was good today. Do you always eat breakfast foods around noon?” Dmitri asked. You kept your head forward, not wanting to meet him in the eye.
“I tend to wake up later. I don’t wake up early,” You told him. You nervously picked at your lace gloves. You couldn’t hide away behind a hat or sunglasses. Or even your small fascinator. Most of that afternoon was spent with questions. You answered curtly, just enough to be satisfactory or enough to the point he didn’t push further. Dmitri walked ahead, not noticing you stopping in your tracks. He turned around, an inquisitive look in his eye. “Mr. Antonov,”
“Yes, Miss (L/N)?” He said.
“I’m sorry,” You said quietly. He walked a little forward, turning his ear toward you. “I’m sorry,” You said.
He smiled. “What for?”
“For what I said to you. I said that looks can be deceiving. I didn’t mean to offend you,” He huffed. “I hope you can forgive me,”
“Do you actually mean it?”
“Mean what?”
“The apology,” He said. “The way I hear it, it just seems you are embarrassed. We can just move past this, it’s fine,” Embarrassed? This was outrageous. “You don’t need to apologize. I felt humiliated at the time, but I would rather have you apologize to me when you’re actually sorry rather than…what’s the term…keeping appearances?”
Your heart burned, it felt like it was swelling, your skin was hot – matching the fire in your lungs. You couldn’t believe the man. Of course you felt sorry, was saying it not enough? Was allowing in your home not enough? You stayed silent the entire time, walking along the halls until you reached the bottom of the stairs. Emelia came out, escorting him along with you.
“Well, it was nice seeing you again. I hope my etiquette was okay?” He answered with a grin. You acutely felt the way your fingers dug into your palm, of course the action didn’t go unnoticed by Dmitri.
“It was,” You said angrily.. He nodded his head and gave a goodbye, watching him be driven off into the distance. Emelia turned to you and smiled, holding your wrist and shutting the door.
“He seems so nice,” She told you. That could be further from the truth.

Worldbuiltober day 22: Blade. A recently ex-drow cavelf shaves his traditional patterns into his fur and wonders if it is still the right choice.
Tumblr media
CW: Slavery mention, exploitation and discrimination based on gender/sex, escaping abusive situations, personal expression under those CWs, finding cultural identity
Drow, especially male drow, lead difficult lives. If you are not part of the elite families, you can expect a life of hard work. Male drow have a strong societal pressure to be tidy, meek and use their muscle for the betterment of the society. They are expected to be homemakers and domestic workers. Often, hard laborers. This pressure ranges from strong societal norms to various forms of slavery. Some male drow get a standing with a guild. Rarely, they might get a 'feminine' job that pays well, such as becoming a cleric or scholar. Most of the time, they are kept away from such roles. In most areas, male drow are expected to cover their hair with a hat, lower their ears and eyes, and generally cover up.
One of the few allowed means of self-expression is fur patterning. Cavelves are generally much fuzzier than their plains cousins. Many drow that fill these roles choose to shave patterns into their fur. Usually on the jawline and cheeks. It's an important tool of self-expression and sometimes rebellion. Patterns signify personal alignment, field of work, age and group or gang.
Some cavelves break with drow society and make it to the Overworld or other cavelf communities. Here they face many challenges to break from the stigma surrounding them, as well as personally find a new tie to their heritage. Fur shaving is a big part. Down below, fur shaving might be seen as a form of personal expression. Up above, it is deeply tied to drow culture and seen as aligning with it. It's messy and for many another cause of personal conflict. Others find a lot of freedom in finding new appearances.

HEY ALL I DONT KNOW WHO WILL SEE THIS BUT
I’ve been pretty unengaged personally with my friends and mutuals some time; just been reblogging shitposts and have otherwise drawn away entirely. It’s been a weird year and a big part of it has been doing some processing, and we’ve made a decision, bc it’s been keeping us from talking for some time.
Hi Everyone! We’re Plural!
There’s seven of us all told. About us and emoji we use to denote ourselves online below.
✨Rosie - She/Her, The historic operator of this blog pre aaaaaa the walls came down. Likes writing, poetry, video games. Resident mediator and interpersonal alter amongst us. Frequent fronter. Also aware of most things and helps delegate & keep system aware of surroundings/events. Loves RP and MMOs.
🦮Daphne - They/Them. IDs as a dog. Yes it’s cringe, no they don’t care. Anxious but chill dog. Protector. Likes psychology and sociology, loves learning music. Also frequently out. Huge fan of vintage aesthetics. Did a PhD w/ Clara but dropped out.
📖Pat - He/They. Worker Bee. Handles work stuff and loves organizing and community minded stuff. Also big on homemaking and domesticity. Certified softboy. Loves weird cinema.
🎀 Rosamunda (Rosa) - She/They. Socialite. Theatre kid. Shitpost generator. Here for good vibes and situations that would otherwise be too socially anxious for Rosie. Loves sociology and social Justice. Chaos creature.
🪻Lilian - She/They. Kind of ageless and widened presence. Interprets most emotions domestically as body stuff. In her words “the body is hell the body is hell the body is hell.” Does a lot of conflict resolution when Rosie & Daph can’t keep up, and serves as the Gatekeeper otherwise.
🗡️Clara - They/He. Did a PhD with Daph. Used to ID as a girl, kept the name bc fuck gender and “it’s fun to set let me clara-fy.” Can be abrasive but is generally a voice of reason for our system. Doesn’t really enjoy fronting much.
🐇Buns - Acknowledging because we dont want her to feel excluded, but she’s a small and vulnerable alter and will not be talked about or maintain a presence on this blog.
Anyway. It’s nice to meet you all formally; we’ve masked as Rosie for a long, long time, and a significant part of our difficulty keeping up with friends is different alters, different social relationships, different demeanors. We hope being so forward will make things easier.
Uh. Have a good day and shit.

“Suburban developments sprang up all over the country in the wake of World War II. As developers rushed to meet the postwar demand for housing, banks, government subsidies, and private investors poured funds into new, single-family homes. In 1946, for the first time, a majority of the nation’s families lived in homes they owned. Over the next 15 years, 12 million more families became homeowners. These new houses in expanding suburban areas were built with young nuclear families in mind. Builders and architects assumed that men would be away at work during the day and houses would be occupied by mothers and children. Most houses were designed with open floor plans where children could wander freely and safely.
Kitchens usually opened into family rooms, with windows facing backyards, so that women could do household chores while watching their children. Living rooms featured picture windows, also to make it easy to keep an eye on children. The one-story design gave the home an informal look and was practical for families with small children, since there were no stairs, which could be dangerous. Houses were built with plenty of closet space to hold numerous consumer goods that went along with suburban living. Families did not have to be wealthy to buy houses in suburbs. But they did have to be white. Racial minorities were not allowed to purchase homes in the suburbs, even if they could afford them.
…The home was also the center of family leisure. Postwar Americans spent a good deal of their incomes on items that would make the home comfortable and enjoyable: appliances, automobiles, backyard barbecue sets, and of course, televisions. By the 1950s, televisions were selling at a rate of more than 5 million a year. In their living rooms, ordinary families watched idealized families in enormously popular shows such as “Ozzie and Harriet,” “Leave It To Beaver,” and “Father Knows Best.” These television families all had certain features in common: they were white, they lived in comfortable suburban homes, full-time homemakers had down-home wisdom and patience, and fathers always knew best.
Curiously, although the fathers in these programs were the breadwinners of the family, we rarely if ever saw them at work. They were home, presiding with kindly, fatherly authority, clearly the head of the household. Nevertheless, mothers were the ones in charge of the daily routines, the running of the home, and the supervision of the children. Television shows that featured working-class families were often continuations of radio comedy shows from the pre-TV era. Shows like “The Honeymooners,” starring Jackie Gleason, depicted working-class men with real jobs (usually undesirable ones like bus drivers or sewer workers), wives who tolerated their husbands’ explosive tempers and rolled their eyes at men’s foolishness, and neighbors who shared their struggles.
…The suburban ideal often promised more than it delivered. Obviously, appliances alone would not make a housewife happy. Women in Levittown often complained about feeling trapped and isolated, facing endless chores and tending to children. For them, suburban life was not a life of fun and leisure but exhausting work and loneliness. Time-consuming commuting reduced the amount of time men could spend with their families, and for the suburban women who held jobs outside the home, the burden was even heavier. They faced work on the job, a long commute home, and then all the chores considered to be “woman’s work” in the home.
The struggle to achieve the ideal suburban life took its toll on men as well as women. Since the primary goal of the “breadwinner” was to provide for his family, it was expected that he would work for the best steady pay, regardless of whether he enjoyed the job. The reward was in the quality of life that the man’s income could buy--not the intrinsic satisfactions of the job itself. The woman’s part of the bargain was to keep the home cheerful and clean, and to be content with the homemaker role. If either partner believed that the other was not keeping the bargain, trouble brewed.
…By 1950, 41 percent of all employed black women worked in private homes. Another 19 percent worked in office buildings, restaurants, and hotels as scrubwomen, maids, and housekeepers. Of the remaining 40 percent, many worked in farm labor. In spite of the migration to the North, as late as 1950, 68 percent of African Americans still lived in the South. The lives of southern black women largely resembled that of their female ancestors during slavery: living in shacks, working sun up to sun down, forced to obey local white people or risk severe consequences.
In the North, as whites continued to move to the suburbs, blacks became more concentrated in the cities. By 1960 blacks were more urbanized than whites. North as well as South, black men earned less than half of what white men earned, and black women received less than half the amount that white women earned. Black women continued to face the most dismal prospects for paid employment, but they continued to take whatever jobs they could get. In the postwar years, white women faced pressure to become full-time homemakers, and were often stigmatized if they held jobs. But black women faced no such stigma.
…Suburbs fostered tightly knit nuclear families in loosely knit communities and extended family networks. People moved often, and ties to neighbors were often weak, since the nuclear family was expected to be self-sufficient and self-enclosed. People did come together in a number of associations, most notably in the churches and synagogues that sprang up across the country. The suburban landscape was dotted with religious institutions, as Americans joined congregations in record numbers. People also came together in local civic institutions. Women joined local PTAs, women’s clubs, and charities, and they organized scout troops and other enrichment programs for their children.
These efforts provided women with community ties, and gave them the opportunity to shape social, religious, and educational institutions in their neighborhoods. These were important tasks. But deep sources of mutual support and tight networks based on kinship and friendship were difficult to achieve in the suburbs. People moved in and out too quickly, and many left their relatives and ethnic communities when they moved to the suburbs. The isolation of the nuclear family also inhibited the casual visiting that took place on the stoops of urban apartments or the streets of the cities. Those outside the suburbs were more likely to develop strong ties of support with relatives and friends. It was both more possible, and more necessary, to do so.”
- Elaine Tyler May, “Suburbia: The Homemaker’s Work Place.” in Pushing the Limits: American Women, 1940-1961

Michael Mann with his father, Jack, in London in 1968.
My family lived in a third-story apartment until I was 10. Then we moved to Balmoral and California avenues on Chicago’s North Side. My younger brother, David, and I shared a bedroom.
My mother, Esther, was a homemaker who later became a fashion-industry manufacturer’s representative. My father, Jack, owned a local supermarket—Economy Food & Liquor.
Mom was intellectual. Dad had a design sensibility that showed up in displays, signage and a dozen other ways. He also had a value system that’s still inspiring.
Movies didn’t interest me growing up. Stories did. My father was a great storyteller. I met the characters he talked about in our demographically mixed neighborhood. They could have been from the pages of Saul Bellow, Studs Terkel and Nelson Algren.
After grade school, I attended Lane Tech High School for one semester. It wasn’t for me, so I transferred to Amundsen High School. The students there were from working-class families and from every background imaginable.
In high school, I got into the normal number of scrapes. By my junior year, I was popular, if that means going out with girls I wanted to date. As a senior, I even asked out one of my teachers. She turned me down.
After school each day and on Saturdays, I worked at my father’s store. I started when I was 12. After the 1955 film “Blackboard Jungle,” most parents feared their sons would become juvenile delinquents if the streets got hold of them.
I stocked shelves and delivered groceries until I was 16. What fascinated me about working with my dad was how he connected with customers and hearing him talk with them, many of whom he knew by name.
I got paid half as much as other kids who worked there because I was his son. There couldn’t be a hint of favoritism. So at 16, I moved on. I worked part time selling clothes at a store with a tailor named Benny who downed a half-pint of bourbon every day.
Then I worked variously as a short-order cook, a cabdriver after I was 18, and as a construction worker for a cement contractor.
At the University of Wisconsin at Madison, I majored in English literature and was tortured by my inability to decide what to do with my life. In my junior year, I took a film-history course and was entranced by German Expressionist films.
One night, I walked home after a campus screening of Murnau’s “Faust.” As I walked down Bascom Hill, it hit me. I said to myself, “You’re going to make films. This is it.” I was committed.
After graduating in 1965, I did a two-year program at the London Film School. It offered me exactly what I wanted—filmmaking technology, theory and history.

3 New Inventions That Will Change The World
1. Commercial nuclear fusion power
Nuclear fusion, in its most common form, is the process of energy being released when bits (“atomic nuclei”, if you’re fancy) of hydrogen are exposed to extreme heat and combined. This process releases massive amounts of energy, which humanity is increasingly hungry for. That’s how the sun works too, by the way.
Several countries have heavily invested in fusion research, and private companies are also conducting their own trials. The ITER reactor, which is under construction in France and due to begin operation in 2026, is the first reactor that should produce energy-positive fusion; but dozens of others are being built.

2. 4D printing
The name 4D printing can lead to confusion: I am not implying that humanity will be able to create and access another dimension. Put simply, a 4D-printed product is a 3D-printed object which can change properties when a specific stimulus is applied (submerged underwater, heated, shaken, not stirred…). The 4th Dimension is therefore Smart Materials.
The key challenge of this technology is obviously finding the relevant “smart material” for all types of uses (namely a hydrogel or a shape memory polymer for the time being). Some work is being done in this space, but we’re not close to being customer-ready, having yet to master reversible changes of certain materials.
The applications are still being discussed, but some very promising industries include healthcare (pills that activate only if the body reaches a certain temperature), fashion (clothes that become tighter in cold temperatures or shoes that improve grip under wet conditions), and homemaking (furniture that becomes rigid under a certain stimulus). Another cool use case is computational folding, wherein objects larger than printers can be printed as only one part.
3. Generative design AI
Generative AI technology uses deep learning to generate creative assets such as videos, images, text and music. This technology is no longer new since it entered the mainstream in late 2022. While you may have played with (and enjoyed!) the likes of ChatGPT and Midjourney, they’re barely more than surface-level distractions.
Tumblr media
Tom Cruise riding a t-rex in Hogwarts
Corporate use for generative AI is far more sophisticated. If used to its full extent, it will reduce product-development life cycle time, design drugs in months instead of years, compose entirely new materials, generate synthetic data, optimize parts design, automate creativity… In fact, experts predict that by 2025, 30% of outbound marketing messages from large organizations will be synthetically generated, and by 2030, a major blockbuster film will be released with 90% of the film generated by AI.
Going beyond the most headline-grabbing use cases, studies have shown that Gen. AI increases productivity for a variety of tasks, with specific benefits for low-ability workers and less experienced employees. Put simply, these tools will level the playing field.
This is happening today, and will continue to happen, with increasing success, over the coming decade. That is, if we can navigate the many risks associated with generative AI. I’m particularly worried about deep fakes, copyright issues, and malicious uses for fake news.

As a 40+ woman who's a hardcore feminist and is quite good with both the rolling pin, the sewing machine, actual handwashing clothes, drying herbs and shit like that: I HATE the current tradwife trend on social media for three main reasons: 1. It romantisizes a period of time in history where women literally had less choices in every single aspect of her life than now. 2. You NEVER hear women in their 80's gushing about what an amazing life they had as stay-at-home wives - let alone how happy their own mothers were. You only hear those who have the luxuary to choose. 3. These so called tradwives are, based on what the average houswife was capable of between, lets say, 1900-1950~ish, nothing but a bunch of vlogging cosplayers who love to pretend they're not telling other young women how they should live. I'm sorry, Mrs. Cosplay Wife, but unless your hands are sore, strong and sinewy from hours of physical labor, your pantry stuffed with boring jars of boring food you're preserving in various ways and you know how to mend clothes both by hand and on machine, you're nothing but a fraud. A real damn house wife is someone who works hard around the house to provide for her family - however it may look. It means long hours of sometimes really boring labour. It means knowing how to take GOOD care of the households clothes and linen. Not just throwing them in on a whim in the machine. NO! We're talking meticulous care here - and lots of ironing and, if possible, mangling. It means preparing and cooking meals every fucking day, doing the dishes, the basic plumbing, getting your ass out into the fucking woods during berry season when others lay on the beach! Forget about spending quality time with your kids - they're either in school, doing homework, helping with chores or out playing. Your husband is too busy trying to support a family of too fucking many on a salary that was good enough in the 50's, but not now, so how about some goddamn reality check? If you're blogging/vlogging about how much you love the 1950's estethics and how much you love cupcakes and traditional values, you're just a young, privileged snob, rich enough to not know a flying fuck about how the real housewives in the 1850 ruined their hands with laundry before turning 30 or how those who took drugs to keep the depression at bay in the 1950's felt, because without a world of strangers constantly engaging with and making you earn YOUR OWN money instead of forcing you to ask your husband for it (because, you know, traditional wives HAD NO FINANCIAL FREEDOM), all those colorful, expensive brand kitchen stuff you're prancing around, all the sponsorships and your own bank account, you'd be just as stuck as the women you're trying to cosplay as. You're not traditional, you just have a thing for a certain aestethic and that's fine. But remember: as long as you earn more on strutting around in chechered aprons that aren't made to spill on, moving through you sparkling kitchen with 50 gadgets your great grandma couldn't even imagine over her depressing zinc tub with dirty dishes, than the average worker at a laundry, a restaurant, a goddamn sweatshop couldn't even dream of buying despite working as hard as the actual homemakers did back when managing a home meant absolutely vital stuff for a family to survive, you don't get to point that well-manicured finger at those who call you out on your bullshit. You're not traditional. You're influencers with advertisers who're using your homes, looks - and sometimes your kids - to earn money by cosplaying a 1950's look that most families - especially the non-white and the disabled - weren't a part of. And on top of it, you can't even darn a fucking sock without ruining your expensive manecure. My great grandma would've eaten you for breakfast - before heading out to march for voting rights.

We open up to Honda being a mood.
Tumblr media
This is Honda, and he's a business guy. He doesn't wanna go to the old okonomiyaki place with his high school buddies because he's bored gossiping about old girlfriends and passed memories. They make him go anyway. Along the way... they avoid KitKat.
Tumblr media
Heading off to the old place, the shop is deserted, dirty, and run by the shopkeeper's only daughter. So what's basically the first place she does when they walk into the store?
Tumblr media
What is it with this manga and women running restaurants? To be fair, she doesn't WANT to, her dad's just in the hospital. And she's got a toddler at home, and her husband works full time at a DIFFERENT restaurant as the head chef, and she's still expected to be a homemaker, so yeah, she actually has it rough.
So they all agree to help. Honda the grump is... not as agreed, but onboard in his own very food-tsundere way.
So of course he goes to the MEETING OF THE HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH TO SAVE THE OKONOMIYAKI PLand nobody else shows up. Figures. Honda the grump is alone.
Tumblr media
AND OH NO, CUSTOMERS. AND HE DIDN'T READ THE RECIPE. I think I've had this nightmare. SO he sucks at it. KitKat comes over to borrow some flour and even though Honda the grump isn't the owner, he has a speech.
Tumblr media
Weeping like my co so then a fuckin' yakuza boss comes in for food, because why the fuck is this place still getting reservations if the owner's been laid up for months- anyway so the yakuza boss nearly throws Honda into the back of a car to fuckin' kill him or whatever and KitKat's like "stop it. We're gonna use words."
Tumblr media
And these guys were willing to kill Honda because he told them he didn't work there and the restaurant was closed because the owner's kid had the flu. ANd they're street food vendors.
Thus is the world of KitKat Jesus. (The Jesus part we're getting to, just stick with me.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have never related harder to a character in this manga in my life.
So KitKat's like "Look if you're here to shakedown for flavor THIS hard, let me try making the recipe. Honda you stay you have to taste test" and Honda's like "damn it!" because he is LITERALLY walking out the door! KitKat reads the recipe and goes "Wait... this is way too basic, this can't be right" and it turns out he's right, because despite living in the shop her whole life and watching her dad cook every day she didn't know the recipe.
Tumblr media
So the street vendors are like "You should sell this at the food fair tomorrow!" and KitKat's like "... hell, why not?". Honda's like "okay i'm fucking LEAVING NOW THANK YOU" and the street vendors go "Hey wait aren't you a government worker? You know your job would be way easier if you did public work and people saw your face" and Honda's like "... ... sign me up."
They got the owner's daughter's permission, though, that's okay.
This next chapter's actually kind of cook- I mean cool! Freudian hungry. But KitKat talks about how food stall cooking is different from restaurant cooking, because you have to take into account eating on the go. Honda the grump is put on the cabbage cutter machine to help and bemoans that he wasn't allowed to eat street food as a kid.
Tumblr media
Guy's just got opinions about fuckin' everything.
Honda the temporarily-asshole-for-the-plot decides to just go... LITERALLY grab customers out of someone else's line to force them to eat at his stall.
Tumblr media
And starts a fight.
I'm starting to think the author has a low opinion of street food vendors.
Tumblr media
OH wait no, I was wrong, they are ALSO the mafia. And street food vendors. Yeah there we go. No wonder Honda wasn't allowed to eat street food...
(skims ahead) oh god I'm gonna run out of pictures again- SO TO SUM UP:
The Capo wants to put the screws to Honda the grump because he tried to cheat at food stalls, so he has his two lancers, big dudes who cook fast, give him a bunch of okonomiyaki to sell before sunset, but KitKat's like "you bitch, you gave him shitty food to sell so you could kick his ass later".
Tumblr media
Honda at this point must be like "I wouldn't be in this situation if everybody else hadn't flaked out on me, christ".
OH well, only one way to settle it.
Tumblr media
And Honda the... weirdly malleable personality for the plot is like "I am so moved by this cook-off between two rival food mafia gangs that I volunteer to be the chef".
And so KitKat's like "Okay". TRAINING
Tumblr media
Honda the singer now apparently has to sing ONLY this song for the next two days.
Tumblr media
It's supposed to help him improve his internal clock so he doesn't have to look at his watch while he's cooking. Three minutes to cook on one side, six minutes on the other. ... thing is.
Tumblr media
This song's been covered a LOT. And most of them aren't 3 minutes long. Most of them are REALLY fuckin' short actually. Fun little bop though!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Must be this version.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey, me too, guy!!!
So the training continues, and on the day of the cook-off-
Tumblr media
Sooey sooey, soodada-lata, soodada-lata sooey sooey!~
And his place is a hit! Because-
Tumblr media
It's in easy-to-eat pieces!
So he wins the contest- wait whatever happened to the restaurant?? WELL LEMME TELL YOU!
Honda the better goes back to his normal job.
Tumblr media
Honda's buddies realize that they forgot about the plot for TWO WEEKS.
Tumblr media
Buncha assholes!
Tumblr media
And... Honda has quit his well-paying government office job... to work the okonomiyaki bar.
I mean... Not judging but... like, benefits? Vacation days? ... not going home at night smelling like cooking oil? Just a thought...
Story arc length: 9 chapters.

Homemaking tip:
Make your bed first thing in the morning, open up your curtains/blinds, and open the window if weather allows (even if it’s not great weather ideally you should have all the windows in the house open for at least five minutes). This is cliche advice, but it truly does make a difference. It automatically makes the room look cleaner, and gives you the signal that it’s time to start the day.

Unveiling the Power of Precision: Lightweight White Cotton Gloves
Have you ever found yourself needing a touch of elegance and practicality? Perhaps you're looking for a way to protect your delicate hands while adding a timeless touch to your tasks. Well, look no further than the unsung hero: lightweight white cotton gloves.
These versatile gloves transcend the realm of formal attire. Lightweight White Cotton Gloves offer a surprising range of benefits, from safeguarding your skin to enhancing dexterity. Whether you're a seasoned collector, a meticulous homemaker, or someone seeking a comforting night-time hand treatment, white cotton serving gloves are about to become your secret weapon.
Tumblr media
What are light cotton gloves used for?
Lightweight White Cotton Gloves come in handy for a surprising variety of tasks. Here are some of the most common uses:
Protection: They provide a thin layer of protection for your hands from dirt, dust, minor scrapes, and light abrasions. This can be useful for things like gardening, light yard work, or handling rough objects.
Grip and dexterity: Because they're thin and breathable, they allow for good fingertip dexterity and control, which is helpful for fiddly tasks or delicate handling of objects. This makes them popular for things like assembling small parts, inspections, or handling delicate items like artwork or antiques.
Moisture control: Cotton is naturally absorbent, so these gloves can help keep your hands dry from sweat or light moisture, useful for tasks where you don't want sweaty palms.
Cleanliness: They can keep fingerprints and skin oils off delicate surfaces like artwork, electronics, or archival materials.
Skincare: Cotton gloves can be worn at night to help keep hands moisturized, especially if you suffer from eczema or other skin conditions.
Who wears white cotton gloves?
White cotton serving gloves have a surprising range of uses, so the people who wear them can vary quite a bit. Here are some of the most common:
People with sensitive skin: The soft, breathable cotton is ideal for those who suffer from eczema or dryness.
Tumblr media
Art handlers and archivists: These gloves protect delicate works of art from fingerprints and oils from skin.
People handling valuable objects: Archivists, coin collectors, and even museum workers use cotton gloves to prevent smudging or damage to artifacts.
Food service workers: In high-end restaurants, servers might wear white cotton gloves for a touch of elegance while handling food.
Inspectors: Product inspectors and those in similar professions might use them to avoid leaving fingerprints on items during examination.
Costumed characters: Of course, who can forget the classic Mickey Mouse? White cotton serving gloves are a timeless costume accessory.

Ergonomic Considerations for Creating a User-Friendly Kitchen Design
Kitchen ergonomics is all about preventing stress on the body during everyday food preparation tasks. This includes maximizing workspace, proper heights and reaching, and client-focused individual attention.
Investing in workplace ergonomics saves money by reducing incidence rates, musculoskeletal disorders, restricted days, workers’ compensation costs and other indirect costs. It also boosts employee morale, creates a safe work environment and increases productivity.
Working Height
For those who cook frequently, a good kitchen design allows them to work comfortably. A lowered counter is great for those who love to knead bread, roll pastry dough or do other messy activities that are difficult at standard countertop heights.
A lowered countertop should be set about 30 to 36 inches from the floor. This is based on an average height and should accommodate most people.
Another option is a multi-height counter. This can be set to multiple different levels so that family members or co-workers who share the kitchen can work at their own comfortable level. This works especially well for island prep-counters that double as a dining table.
Reaching Height
Traditionally, kitchen components have been designed to an “average” height. Countertops are a prime example, often set at 36″ high. This is ideal for many people, but not all. The principal of adaptability in ergonomics calls for the kitchen to fit the user. A good starting point is to think of all the possible users in a kitchen including those who may have limited mobility or eyesight and to plan accordingly.
Keeping this in mind, the sink, garbage bin and dishwasher should have a linear relationship that makes sense for the sequence of meal clean-up. Similarly, the refrigerator and pantry should be located within easy reach of most kitchen activity, too. To eliminate the need for repeated reaching, storage solutions like pull-out shelves can be very useful. In addition, doors that open upward are less in the way than ones that swing outward. This also reduces back strain. Moreover, a low cabinet can double as a lower work surface.
Storage
The amount of storage space you have will play a large part in how your kitchen functions. From cupboards and drawers to your pantry and fridge, the way you use your storage will influence every aspect of your kitchen design.
For instance, many homemakers spend a great deal of time in their kitchens reaching into high cupboards for items they need. A well designed kitchen that has appliances and storage at a good working height will eliminate this repetitive strain.
Keeping this in mind, it’s important to consider your kitchen’s overall layout and the flow through the space. This goes beyond the classic kitchen triangle to look at circulation, zoning and how everything will fit together like a jigsaw puzzle.
Lighting
The lighting in a kitchen must be considered because it affects everything from the ability to clearly read recipes to the effectiveness of preparing food. Every kitchen must be designed using a layered approach, with ambient, task and accent lighting.
The best way to think about ergonomics is that it is about making a room or piece of equipment fit the people who use it. That includes adjusting to their height, reach and preferred way of doing things. That is why it is important to adapt cabinet handles to be easy for people with arthritic fingers or a physical limitation to grasp.
It is also important to consider whether a person is left-handed or right-handed and plan accordingly. Left-handers appreciate fittings that allow them to open cabinets with their strong right hand and for the sink to have the drainer on the right if they tend to wash up on that side. This enables them to avoid straining with their weaker left hand and maintain correct posture.

Amazing Kitchen Remodel Ideas To Refresh Your Home
How To
These are ten small kitchen renovations that you can do by yourself.
Ideas for small kitchen renovations you can do yourself. DIY Home Improvement Tips For the Average Joe
You might not want to undertake a small kitchen renovation. This is a great way to transform your home into a modern, beautiful space. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to upgrade your kitchen. So here are some small kitchen renovation ideas that you can do yourself.
Add a backsplash – If you don’t have any tiles around your sink and countertop, then adding a backsplash is probably the best thing you can do. A backsplash can add colour and style to your kitchen, while also making it look larger and more spacious.
Get rid of old cabinets. They protect your walls from splashes, spills, stains, etc. They also give your kitchen a sophisticated look. You should replace your cabinet doors if they look tired.
Paint your kitchen – Paint will not only change the appearance of your kitchen but also help you save money. The kitchen will look fresher and more modern if you paint it. You’ll also find it easier to clean.
Upgrade your appliances – It will increase the lifespan of your appliances and make them look better. If you know exactly which appliance needs to be updated, then you can do it. Or, you can find someone who can install these appliances.
You can also add a bar to your kitchen. This not only gives you more work surface, but it also allows for entertaining guests.
Create a breakfastnook – A breakfastnook doesn’t require you to spend a lot of money. All you need is a small table and some chairs. You can even add cushions to make the experience more comfortable.

The utmost need to learn Microsoft office 2013 home & student
Whether you are a working professional or a student, having some knowledge about the Microsoft office 2013 home & student package would certainly be of good help to you. Either in the work environs or the home we deal with some or the other kind of computer machines operating either from windows 10 s or Mac most often. Having said that, while using the computer for so many of your day-to-day needs, the most important software that you would use would just be Microsoft OneNote 2013. Browsing the web for some time would certainly want you to do a lot offline too, to log your research work for the day as well as the findings of the day.
Drafting, composing, editing, and logging needs fulfilled
All those records, logs, reports, emails and any other dissertations or sample drafts that you would like to draft would warrant you to use Microsoft word 2013. Some experts require doing this work daily as a part of their office routine. The best examples would be the lecturers, professors, process control employees of big organizations, admin workers, and much more.
 Reporting to the mentors
These pros would look for the upgraded versions with advanced features for which the upgrade to Microsoft word 2016 would be an ideal choice. However, even students, writers, editors, drafters, bloggers, and homemakers would use these Microsoft packages for their convenience. They might find Microsoft word 2013 to be good enough to serve their purposes. So, it is the features in the package that matters the most.
 Part of the school syllabi
Pros want more improvised and updated features and hence they choose the latest versions while others just keep using the older versions with what they are used to, already for a long time. In both cases, you see these packages help organize their efforts and keep useful records of their daily activities. For some others, it is these packages that help them report to their management promptly and make a living out of it. So, understanding these packages, the features, the benefits, the tricks, and the tactics would be beneficial for most of us who use computers for one reason or the other.
 Fundamental eligibility criteria
Today, knowing how to use Microsoft word 2013 has become a basic qualification or eligibility criterion for most jobs, if you see the job adverts regularly. even some of the government examinations, and school examinations, include many questions related to the origin, conception, features, and benefits of using Microsoft word 2013 and other packages.
The aim is to equip the students better for the professional working environment. When they are showing their knowledge about using this software efficiently then they are given top priority in the job selection process. If you are showing your extraordinary talent in the way you are going to use any or all of the above-mentioned packages then it shows your job readiness to the prospective employer.
So, if you have not upgraded yet to Microsoft word 2016 then the best thing to do is to go for one. Even otherwise, if you are using any of the remote machines in the world, then upgrade to using the ones with the latest windows 10 s operating system to reap the fullest benefits.
