why does it feel so right to be editing 18th-century-horsegirl-romance-novel-cover-esque art to the dulcet tones and funky beats of Heart. Late 70s/early 80s pop rock seems to weirdly fit the aesthetic of 21st century woman imagining fantasy version of the past. Even the songs with too much Moog.

Maybe I'm just recalling the remnants of 70s horsegirl and rococcaine revival that were still floating around when I was but a baby.

I think it would be cool, if one day a year, we all dressed like it was the 18th century. Tights, wigs, corsets, breeches, frocks, cravats, petticoats, huge dresses and belt buckle shoes. Just go way overboard.

as usual the met gala was...a mixed bag. the ones who didn’t quite understand camp and hit haute couture instead...i don’t mind so much like. at least they tried and were still really great to look at. the guys who came in regular tuxedos but with like, a tasteful pinstripe or tiny polka dots? y’all are on my list.
