Alexandra and her friends, Mia, Jenna, and Chris, wove their way through the crowded space of their favorite spot in town. They were in search of a table where they could sit and enjoy each other’s company. She could almost hear Mia’s disappointment through the screen.
Mia: You’ve been saying that a lot lately. Everything okay?
Jenna: Yeah, we miss you! It’s not the same without our selfie queen.
Selfie queen. The title stung with irony. If only they knew how much those selfies are calculated now. Not just fun and games anymore.
Chris: Let’s plan something chill then. Just us, no fuss.
The offer was tempting, a call back to simpler times. But Alexis’s mind was already racing ahead, calculating the potential impacts, the way her night would be dissected and discussed by her growing audience. Can I afford a night off? A night being just Alexandra?
Alexis: I really appreciate it, guys. But I’ve got an early morning shoot for a brand partnership. Can’t bail on them. Let’s definitely plan something soon though!
Her response felt hollow, even to her.

As she paused to peer into the window of a chic boutique, contemplating whether the handbag on display matched her brand’s aesthetic, she felt a sudden, light tap on her shoulder. Turning, she found herself face-to-face with a young man, his eyes wide with the unmistakable glow of fandom.
“Alexis?” he stammered, his voice a mix of awe and disbelief. “I’m such a huge fan. Your posts, your style, everything you do is just… amazing.”
For a moment, Alexis sized him up—his earnest expression, his less-than-fashionable attire. A time ago, she might have smiled, thanked him, even engaged in a brief conversation. But that was before. “Lesson of the day, darlings,” she said to the camera, her tone one of mock-seriousness, “approaching celebrities requires grace and respect. Remember, we’re not your friends; we’re figures of inspiration. Let’s keep it classy, not trashy.”
She posted the video without a second thought, not caring about the fallout for the fan, only considering the engagement such a post would generate. Her followers lapped it up, flooding the comments with praise for her stance, laughing emojis, and commiserations about the lack of respect she faced.
As she continued her day, satisfied with her handling of the situation, Alexis never stopped to consider the impact of her words and actions on that fan—or on her image in the eyes of those who still valued humility and kindness. Paparazzi called to you, begging for your gaze to land on them. Interviewers shouted questions that you could barely hear. You had already done your red carpet interviews, so many of the questions being thrown your way now were for tabloids to pick up some kind of gossip fodder.
You shifted again, opting for an over the shoulder glance to your right with a more demure gaze. Your floor length gown was elegant and aquatic, giving the illusion that you stepped out of the ocean and brought the water along with you. Despite your calculated poses, however, the excitement radiated off you in waves. This was it for you. The culmination of years of hard-work and planning and dreaming-- it all led you to this moment.
The world premiere of your first feature-length film.
You truly felt like you were riding a current and a part of you never wanted the feeling to end. You took a moment, stepping away from the carpet and the cameras, so you could catch your breath. Your manager, standing calmly to the side, handed you your phone and a bottle of water. She looked pensive as you grinned widely at her, but you chalked her cautious stare up to nerves. This was a big night.
You scrolled through your notifications, swiping them off the screen as you looked for text messages from your loved ones. Your twitter was blowing up but you assumed it was about the premiere. You responded to a message from your aunt (she wanted to know how much longer you had on the carpet) and another from your best friend before receiving two texts, back to back, from your publicist.

You schooled your features, being sure to maintain an easy going facade so that no one with a wayward camera could catch you slipping. Obviously, there was something going on that you weren’t privy to. Now the potential for the paps to catch an off-guard image, and use it to fuel their tabloid bullshit, was higher than ever. You casually handed your bottle back to your manager, smiling though it didn’t quite reach your eyes.
“Angela, what the fuck is Shae talking about?” You whispered, quirking an eyebrow.
You showed her your phone, your features looking amused and humorous. She matched your energy, putting on a casual smirk as she leaned over to whisper to you.
“Stay focused. Don’t answer any questions about Eren,” She said simply, her voice low. “We’ll talk before the showing. I’ll meet you on the other side of the carpet”
She gently ushered you back to the carpet, stepping aside as you posed for the camera. You felt comfortable under the flashing lights, ignoring the shouting from the paparazzi. You took your time, shifting as needed, and making sure your angles were right. This time, however, you weren’t super excited to be standing on the carpet alone. On the outside you looked calm and collected but on the inside? You felt vulnerable and uncomfortable. Still, you pushed through and gave the camera a seemingly effortless performance.
From the corner of your eye, you saw your co-star walking to the carpet.
Relief flooded you instantly. You crossed to Armin Artlert, smiling wide as you embraced him. He was your rock during the filming process, so seeing him at that moment felt like a saving grace. He met your eyes, his own colored with a silent question as he took in the apprehension in yours. You shook your head minutely, embarrassed that he could read you so easily. After months of filming, however, that was to be expected. So, he simply took your hand and talked quietly with you as the cameras captured images of the two of you.
The paps and interviewers went feral at the sight of your hands linked together. Questions about the nature of your relationship were thrown left and right but the two of you ignored them like pros. Armin was a godsend during the filming process and helped you navigate the ins and outs of the film industry with ease. He advocated for you when you didn’t know how to and helped you find your own voice throughout the process. There were seldom few people who would support a black woman in such a way.
Armin Artlet was a true friend and you were thankful for him.
You gave him another hug, preparing to part ways. He gave your shoulders a reassuring squeeze and you promised to save him a seat inside. An escort met you halfway across the carpet, guiding you through the flashing lights toward your manager. As you reached her, one pap’s question reached your ears over the others.
“Is your relationship with your co-star the inspiration behind Eren’s Jaeger’s latest diss track?”
The question made your eye twitch as you resisted the urge to ask him what the fuck he meant by that. Thankfully, Angela was a quick mover and a quicker thinker. She grabbed your arm gently, ushering you off the carpet as she popped off at the reporter.
“I hope you’re enjoying your evening,” She said, with a saccharine sweet smile.
The reporter grinned, nodding excitedly. Surely, she believed she would get some special information.
“Very much so! First red carpet event.”
Angela nodded kindly before her smile fell entirely, her eyes sharp and piercing.
“Consider it your last,” She said icily.
She caught a glimpse of the reporter’s name tag.
“Have a good night Stacey.” Angela said firmly, hustling you into the event space.
She found a secluded corner, away from prying eyes and sneaky cameramen. You took a deep breath, rubbing at your temples.
“Angela, tell me what in the hell that was about,” You demanded, glancing over her shoulder.
You tried to control your features because anyone could be watching you from anywhere- trying to capture you in a vulnerable position. Clearly, there was something going on that you were unaware of. It was imperative no one caught you off-guard- thus feeding the damn rumor mill. That was the last thing you needed at the moment.
But apparently your boyfriend was really showing his ass this time.
Your relationship with Eren had been the source for tabloid and media gossip since the beginning. Many people didn’t like the two of you together, not understanding what drew you to one another. They had an idealized image of you in their heads- a princess or a primadonna that shouldn’t be around the likes of him. The people who loved you, or thought they did, felt that Eren was beneath you. They claimed he was using you for relevance. Your self-proclaimed internet aunties didn’t like the company he kept and the girls closer to your age were either quietly jealous or outright haters.
No matter who they were, however, they didn’t know Eren like you did. So, you went out of your way to ignore the harsh spin they put on your relationship. At the 8 month mark, you had hoped the drama would die down. But today was proving you wrong in so many ways. Hopefully, it wasn’t a repeat of that time Eren’s homegirl Sasha tried to drag the two of you into her drama with her baby daddy, Connie- another friend of Eren’s.
You didn’t even want to think about that at the moment.
But maybe…the fans were onto something if Angela’s hesitation told you anything.
She sighed, her eyes filled with concern as she handed you her phone. It was opened to Twitter and you frowned seeing Eren’s handle, recognizing his latest album cover as his profile pic.
You clicked the link, confused as to why he would be releasing a song today. He didn’t mention it on the facetime call you had that morning. He seemed normal enough, albeit a bit distracted. Why wouldn’t he mention that he was dropping a single? In fact, you hadn’t heard from Eren since that call. He usually always sent you pictures of him watching the news coverage of public appearances he couldn’t attend or sweet messages to encourage you. You frowned, biting your lip.
The spotify app opened, the song immediately beginning to play. You lowered the volume, holding the phone to your ear. Angela shielded you with her body subtly, trying to give you some privacy.
The lyrics reached your ears, mortification settling into your veins.
Hardest thing I ever did was fall in love with a famous bitch
The song filtered through the speaker, his words feeling like a punch in the gut. He detailed his feelings toward you, verse after verse. He outlined all his insecurities, placing the majority of the blame on you and your career. He questioned your love for him, asking if the men you work with turn you on. He cast doubt on your fidelity and your professionalism bar after bar.
You took a shaky breath, your eyes stinging as the last lyrics rang in your ear.
Just because they filmin’ it, it don’t mean it ain’t wrong.
You handed Angela’s phone to her, closing your eyes as you bit back tears.
“You okay, sweetheart?” She asked, her voice soft. Motherly.
It made you flinch. You didn’t need her pity or concern but fuck all if Eren’s song didn’t strike a nerve. When that bum ass pap mentioned a diss track, you never thought it would be about you. Still, it was not the time to fall apart. Not on a day you dreamt about for years.
So, you sucked those tears up and looked at her firmly.
“I’m fine. That weak-ass shit is irrelevant. Today is about this film, this cast and crew and months of effort,” You said, your voice strong. “Let’s get the fuck back to work.”
You straightened your spine, heels clacking as you walked into the theater with your head high. You sat with your aunt, Angela and Armin as you tried to push Eren out of your mind. The day was about you. If Eren couldn’t respect that, if your job was too much for him, then…oh well. You took another breath, pushing the thought from your mind. He didn’t deserve your time or energy at the moment. Eren Jaeger was not going to steal this moment from you.
Still, as the lights went low and the screen came to life, you couldn’t help but send a quick tweet before putting your phone away for the rest of the night. The petty bitch in you deserved a moment to breathe, did she not?
After all, you weren’t the one to be fucked with. Eren would find out soon enough.

Can you please share your experience into stanning Enhypen? You seem to hold them in high regard. The only group you stan is BTS so that tells me you have high standards or at least similar taste to me, but Enhypen doesn't have rappers which you said yourself. So what makes you like them better than other 4th gen groups that do have rappers? What was your descent into the rabbit hole like if you don't mind me asking.

This ask is going to take too long to answer properly, so I'll try to give the abridged version here.
I fell in love with Enhypen the minute I heard their debut song: Given-Taken. The very first thing you hear is a harp and it's so pretty.
I liked them right then, they made an impression, a real one. It reminded me of how I felt watching BTS perform their debut stage 10 years ago. It reminded me of that feeling, but in a different hue. I kept up with Enhypen since then and have progressively liked them more.
But the moment I realized I liked them a whole lot, was after watching this video:

It was here I learned Jungwon's favourite album right now is the OST for Disney's Aladdin. It's here I learned Jay loves to play Layla by Eric Clapton on his guitar, Layla is one of my favourite songs of all time. It's here I learned Sunghoon's role model is BTS. Naturally, all three guys became my bias.
The next moment I recall that stuck with me, was revisiting Drunk Dazed randomly last year. When I first heard Drunk-Dazed I didn't really care for the song. Enhypen does 'noise music' well, but it's still noise music and I wasn't in the mood for it at that point in my life. I knew the song was good, but set it aside when I first heard it. But time passed, and sometime last year I decided to listen to it on a whim. I wanted to hear it again, see it with choreography, so I played the Studio Choom and by the end of it I was spamming my GC, sending that video to all my friends afterwards.

The entire video is insane.
Enhypen are the best performers. Period. I sometimes see k-pop stans comment on whether they sing live and inevitably turn it into discourse, but as usual that discourse is rubbish. They sing live but with heavy backtrack because their choreographies are literally insane. That's not an exaggeration. There is no group active today that does as much floor work as Enhypen. Think about it. If you ever watch an Enhypen performance, count how many times they're on the floor: lying down flat, sitting, crouching to the floor, bending, kneeling - count how many times they're on the floor in a position where it's physically near impossible to sing. And then remember this is their regular choreo for their songs, a choreo they'll have to perform every time, and then remember that Enhypen is known for their dance breaks. That is, dance routines that are incremental to everything they've just done.
It's mental.
They make the best music, are ridiculously talented, have the best visuals, and have got the best vibes for days. It wasn't a conscious decision on my part to like them, I just saw what I saw, heard what I heard, and my brain did the next logical thing which was to start supporting them.
Like I said, I'm active in the Engene fandom so that means there's overlap on my twitter with my ARMY moots. At first, a few of them were ticked off to see me retweet Enhypen tweets. When they told me it bothered them that I was supporting Enhypen while stanning BTS, I sent them a video of Enhypen one year after debut. I sent them this video.

One of the three people who initially had a problem with me now ults Enhypen. Lool. Even I'm not at that point yet.
Anyway, the music is what seals the deal for me. They just make objectively better music by my tastes, which already sets them above the pack. They have a handful of songs with rap verses (eg Blockbuster OT7 version) which they do remarkably well so I hope we get more rap/chant verses in future songs. But even without the rap their music is god-tier. Then you remember they have the best dance-line in 4th gen. And they are adorable dorks on top of it...
It's easy to love them. They don't have it easier than other HYBE groups when it comes to the unwarranted hate unfortunately, and that's why even though I don't technically stan them, or at least ult them, I still support them whenever I feel like it and have the means.
Enhypen is a solid group and I wish only more health and success for them.

The Legendary Hurricane G has reportedly passed away.
Best known for her solo sensation All Woman, verse on Redman’s “Tonight’s Da Night” and “We Run N.Y,” presence on Delinquent Habits, and several iconic underground ventures of the 90s, Hurricane G is a hip-hop notable who was always ahead of her time. An avid representer of what we at Old School Hip-Hop Lust label “Original Woman Rap,” born Gloria Rodríguez, G was an unapologetic spitter of cultural rigor—instilling a prominent spotlight on Afro-Latina hip-hop practitioners.
Erick Sermon, who shares a daughter with Hurricane G took to Instagram to break the devastating news and highlight her influence on Puerto Rican female emcees:
“My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends…. my oldest daughters mother passed away today #HURRICANEGLORIA was also a legend in her own right in the Hiphop community. One of the first puertorican female rappers She rapped with me. @redmangilla she paved the way
@keithmurray @diddy she was in all the Hiphop magazines with all the top females at the time.. #stretchandbobito loved a song that she did called “MILKY” She will be missed all around the world. I can’t believe this. Pray for us. Beautiful blessings. She was a beautiful person a wonderful mother as real as they come. We love u.”
Details on Hurricane G’s passing have not been publicized as of yet. The news of her passing was confirmed through the posts of several of her hip-hop colleagues, including Rah Digga who tweeted, “I feel crazy posting back to back death like this but #HurricaneG is family as well as a legend and my good sis deserves her flowers. Rest easy my G <3”
The news of Hurricane G’s death was announced seconds to minutes after the death of Tame One of The Artifacts!

Traces: 2jin detour
So this post is strongly speculative and theory-based. Meaning that I'm reaching for the connections. But after spotting some interesting correlations between the events when placed on the same timeline, I'm putting this out there so maybe the you who's reading could take a look and tell whether there's truly a thread here.
One of my favorite YT Jinkookers moonbathingrite had made a great video that opened my eyes to the possibility of 2jin being a thing before Jin and Jungkook. (Note: she never said that they were, but did present interesting parallels between 2jin and Jinkook who came later)
2jin is the ship name for Kim Seokjin and Jin Hyosang.
Jin Hyosang, also known as Kidoh (ex-member of Toppdogg), used to be a BigHit trainee and was in the same underground rap group (DamNamhyup) as RM. He was actually in one of the final lineups for Bangtan (based off a poster) but joined Stardom Ent. some time in late 2012. The likeliest reason for switching agencies probably had to do with creative issues since BTS did go through a major revamp before debut - the original lineup of 'rappers only' eventually turned into a choreography heavy, idol group.
Kidoh was able to start releasing mixtapes with his new members in March and April of 2013, and later debuted officially in October. If you look at Toppdogg's debut album, Kidoh had writing credits on almost every single one of them. He even had a solo track, which was a major indicator of how much the agency was planning on pushing him.
Kidoh's connection to Jin is one of the rarer K-Pop phenomenons I've seen - fans shipping two male idols from different rookie groups right out the gate. This was mainly bolstered by Kidoh's fans all being acutely aware of how extremely infatuated he was with Jin, and Kidoh's encouraging responses. There was even something of a love triangle being touted back in 2013 between Kidoh, Jin and Rap Monster 😐 Ancient times were different 😺
So fan spectacle aside, how credible was 2jin being an actual item?
Truthfully, not very much.
Because the affection was simply too lopsided to call it a relationship. Kidoh seemed enamored by Jin but Jin was generally aloof and cavalier in return. Of course, you could argue that Jin had always been a master of disguising his emotions but taking into account their careers at the time, it would have been impossible to date anyway (even if they wanted to).

Jin moved into Bighit's dorm on July 29, 2012 and the very next day, Kidoh tweeted about Jin:

Kidoh's tweets about Jin were always harmless but had just that unnecessary hint of... attentiveness?
So with these social media traces, his affection for Jin was known since their trainee days. He had left enough crumbs online for the shippers to gather rapidly in their debut year.
On a related note, it's amusing how there's essentially no traces of Kidoh and Namjoon's friendship despite these two being in the same underground rap group far longer than either ever knew Seokjin. Joon was there the whole time and yet, there's no signs of the rappers knowing each other. In fact, they barely interacted during their special collab stage for Show Champion in 2014.
And it might have been fine to label his affection for Jin as overly-affectionate-best-friend feels, but Kidoh definitely toed the line at times:

Jin's response is incredibly telling of the whole situation because first of all, he had to be aware of what the fans were thinking when they asked him the question. Secondly, he skipped over several thoughts to arrive at 'I'm not gay' because the question wasn't asking if he was??
(and the response is so deeply closeted iykwim)
Meanwhile Kidoh was on another wavelength:

Personally... I've heard best friends refer to each other as 'soulmates' before, but never 'destiny'. His answer seemed to imply another layer to their friendship.
Another interesting aspect of 2jin was the way Jin used to tweet about Kidoh, where his habits later carried over when he was tweeting about Jungkook.
For example, Jin would add his name to the end of a sentence:

That's a thing Jin once did during mid-2016 on the day of Jinkook's waterpark date.

And of course it's cuter when Jin did it for Jk and himself, because it was half and half of their names. He will cram them together even if none of the alphabets are the same ❤️
These little things that Jin would do for his closest person/friend remained constant but of course, the two relationships were probably not of the same nature.
The difference mainly being Jin - his attitude towards Hyosang and Jungkook was like if you compared night and day.

Other than these traces of the 2jin friendship, you can explore their lore further on the blog linked above. You'd understand what I meant by how Kidoh 'encouraged' the shippers. Jin lived rent free on his mind.. he got mentioned even when Kidoh was interacting with fans on entirely unrelated topics. It didn't seem like fan service because the moments were so random and neither of them seemed to actually care about the reaction.
There's also some Yt compilations comparing how similar 2jin's personalities were, both a little eccentric, loud and confident about their looks. It is easy to tell why they clicked.
So it's interesting how Kidoh appeared rather infatuated with Jin.. which Jungkook's attitude resembled at times. Everything else aside, his focus on Jin lasted throughout their trainee period together up to the last second of their fallout.
Considering how forward Kidoh was and how they'd still meet each other backstage at music shows, it's certainly possible that members of both teams had observed 2jin's interactions and knew about their close friendship. And for someone who was in close proximity to Jin and paid him a lot of attention, he might know they're close and perhaps had wondered about the nature of the two 92-liners' relationship.
The fallout seemed to happen out of the blue.
On November 8, 2014 Jin and Kidoh still seemed fine and had taken a selfie together
And on Jin's birthday, Kidoh tweeted a polaroid of themselves and a short message:
Isn't it funny how they looked like twins
Then before the year could come to an end, BTS_twt was discovered to have unfollowed Kidoh.
Shippers who were watching 2jin's moves saw that Kidoh also deleted many of his posts related to Jin. Following this, on Christmas Eve he tweeted:
Lamenting how he was single and surrounded by couples.
Whether it's actually related to Jin or not, I can't say. But the timing of the tweet did coincide with his abrupt disconnection from Jin. And sadly these two had never interacted, or at least publicly, ever again after December 2014.
And on a very loosely related note, Jungkook had posted his cover of Crush's Sofa on Dec 16 that year
Which was a melancholic breakup song speaking from the perspective of someone who's clearly been dumped.
As armys we know more than to dismiss the lyrics of Jk's cover songs right... so the timing of this cover seemed pretty interesting in the scheme of things.
So that's something to think about there.
My own loose theory is that there was something more than friends there going on but not enough to call it an official relationship. And for the sudden 'breakup', it could be anything. Maybe it was business - had to do with Kidoh's lawsuit that surfaced half a year later, or personal - a failed confession... the possibilities are whichever you believe in. (My dream is for Seokjin to publish an autobiography at the age of 40 and spill all the tea) As for how Jk fits in... I have no idea how much he knew (did he ever ask or did Jin ever tell), but that lil cover showed he was probably aware of events in this arena.
LOL Didn't I say that I was reaching 😋
And unfortunately, the story for Hyosang kind of kept going downhill for a while. The following year, he filed a lawsuit against his agency for mismanagement of his career, and then in 2016, was convicted for drug use along with ex-Bighit trainee Iron.
After the ordeal, he returned to the industry as a producer for AOMG and almost exclusively produced for Woo (Woo Wonjae). He's under the new monicker Khyo now. That lasted for about 2 years and more recently, he doing DJ gigs at festivals.
So he's up and still doing music 🙌
This ended in a sort of somber note with the lost connection between 2jin....
But the silver lining to it is that both of them are living well, and I'm not a 2jin shipper 👻✨

Fans of Kanye West are turning on the embattled rapper after his latest shocking comments and Twitter posts, RadarOnline.com has learned, and many are now siding with Taylor Swift following their years-long feud.
Several people in his Subreddit said he had gone too far this time, leading to multiple posts about the Anti-Hero singer in regards to her public spat with the Yeezy designer.

"This is now a Taylor Swift Subreddit. We had a good run fellas," read a post on December 1 amid dominating discussions about his rhetoric in an explosive interview.
Several clips of Ye have been shared on Twitter, showing the Eazy rapper explaining why he likes Hitler during a November 30 appearance on Alex Jones' InfoWars, arguing "every human being has something of value that they brought to the table."
"I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis," he doubled down.
Ye later tweeted an image appearing to show a swastika inside a Star of David, which was then blocked by new Twitter chief Elon Musk as a violation of its rules.
His account is now suspended for the second time, and fans are sounding off in a Subreddit once dedicated to Ye.

"Now we got bad blood," one commented under the thread.
"Kanye, Kanye, I'm not gonna let you finish…," another quipped, referring to his now-infamous on-stage moment with Swift as she attempted to accept her award for Best Video by a Female Artist at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
"Your nemesis will defeat himself before you get the chance to swing," a third posted, referring to her lyric in Long Story Short.

Meanwhile, others brought up the drama between West and Swift following the rapper's February 2016 release of his song Famous, with the controversial verse, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b---- famous."
Tension reached a boiling point after his ex-wife Kim Kardashian's subsequent claims that Swift knew of West's plans to release the track, and the leak of a phone call between West and Swift discussing the song before its release.

SCARAMOUCHE the newest member and sub rapper for 6wirl. knew y/n because their parents were close with each other when they went to primary school together. the grumpy one. just like xiao, he doesn’t say much in the group chat unless its needed or to flame venti. XIAO main/lead rapper of 6wirl. has been friends with venti for as long as he can remember. again, the grumpy one with scaramouche. his favorite is scaramouche because he isn’t insane and crazy like the others. enjoys karaoke with venti on days off (even if venti gets very drunk and makes rash decisions).
KAZUHA song writer and main dancer of 6wirl. friends with y/n and gets homesick sometimes when thinking of home and tomo. loves inazuma more than anything in this world (except for 6wirl of course, they’re practically his family with how much time they’ve spent together). always gives fans hints to their newest comebacks with lyrics he’ll post on his story. closest to aether out of everyone in the group. the calmest one of the group.
AETHER sub vocal and center of 6wirl. was friends with venti and xiao and would go sing karaoke with them. the group actually started with aether, venti, and xiao because they had loved singing so much so they decided to become a trainee. the others getting scouted along the way. aether has a dog that scaramouche is attached to. although he met venti, aether, and xiao first he’s closest with kazuha because they understand each other the most. the chaotic neutral of the group.

A Closer Look At: Mark and Moxy (#MSquared)
Students of Degrassi Community School
Once Moxy and Mark became friends, they started spending more time together
And when Moxy found out Mark, as a Canadian teen, had never seen Degrassi. She made it her mission to rectify this wrongdoing
As soon as the two had time off. Moxy marched from her floor to the 10th and dragged Mark, in the middle of breakfast, from his dorm to hers.
Moxy pushed Mark onto the top of her bed “We are not moving until we reach season eight of TNG. We will begin season nine tomorrow.”
“There’s more than eight!” “Oh you have so much to learn, young degrassian.”
They spent a whole seven days locked in Moxy’s dorm room to finish the series.
(Degrassi spoilers ahead! You’ve been warned!!!)
While Mark shed some tears at Jimmy getting shot. Both rappers were sobbing when JT got stabbed.
“But he just admitted he still loved Liberty. They can’t do this to them!!”
While Mark liked Emma's class, He ADORED Claire and Drew’s class. Mark found their issues easier to relate to and connect with.
Now whenever Moxy quotes lines in contents, Mark is the only one laughing at them

It was awkward at first but the more we talked and opened up, the less awkward we became. I know some of you guys were wondering what up but yeah! Mark and I are friends now!”

oh you are in luck my friend i already have an entire "hivemind greatest hits" playlist that ive been sending to my other friends whenever they ask about them. however you have also allowed me to ramble so please enjoy that down below
my personal picks for the best newcomer vids are:
guess the song from 1/16th second of audio & guess the rapper from the fiverr impression (grouped together bc theyre both quadeca videos): quadeca is a recurring guest on hivemind (honestly he could be a third host at this point) and i think these are the best vids theyve made with him :-) 1/16th of a second has a lot of really classic bits in it and is also relatively short by hivemind standards (a hivemind vid thats under 30 minutes is a real rarity at this point). the fiverr impressions vid is just really funny AND some of the impressions are actually quite good (the westside gunn one is a classic)
guess the song from the genius lyric annotation *2*: easily one of the funniest solo videos on the channel. the bit:game ratio is fucked but its not COMPLETELY off the rails like some later videos. this is also the origin of one of my personal top 10 hivemind bits, "meta girl on facebook dating"
casting rappers in hypothetical movies (with nickisnotgreen): now this one is quite long (just over an hour) which may put off some people. however i think it is one of the best video concepts theyve ever come up with and i NEED them to do it again. i wish graydon's hit coming-of-age movie CLIQUE (starring sza and babytron) was real so bad
guess the rapper from quadeca's styles of rap: legally i feel like i have to list this video in a newcomer recommendation post because of its importance in Hivemind Lore. youll understand if you watch it

Here is a little rundown on the members of Waterparks and the friends that they hang out with a lot!
Awsten Constantine Knight
Birthday: January 17, 1992
Role: Lead singer and rhythm guitarist
Took his driver's license picture to look naked
Legally changed his name from "Austin" to "Awsten."
Awsten is one of the most interesting people I had to learn about. He created Waterparks as one of his passion projects. He has synesthesia, which means he sees sounds and hears colors. He also has heterochromia, which means his eyes are different colors. He made his own fashion line called High Definition Industries. Awsten is really chaotic most of the time, but he does have a sweetness to him.
Geoff Wigington
Birthday: July 2, 1989
Role: Lead guitarist
Legend of Zelda enthusiast
Has a child
Geoff is an absolute sweetheart. He is not the best with words, but he always brightens up everyone's day. He brings a comfortable presence with him. There was an ongoing joke that Geoff loves minions, but he absolutely despises them. I love Geoff and you should too.
Otto Danielle Wood
Birthday: December 20, 1990
Role: Drummer
Possibly a serial killer
Never used the Internet, he literally had to ask Awsten if it costs anything to make a Gmail.
Otto may look like Weird Al's ripped nephew, but he's not. He's allegedly the most unhinged member of Waterparks. He actually got inspired to play the drums because of the drummer in the animatronic band at Chuck E. Cheese. Other than that, not much is known about him since he does not use any form of social media. His biggest music inspiration is My Chemical Romance though!

The following people are not actually a part of Waterparks but are closely related to them. They do interact with the band a lot, so if you are joining the FANDOM (like the album hahah), you should definitely become familiar with these people.
Jawn Rocha
Birthday: September 18, 1992
Role: Photographer, mainly just for Waterparks but he takes photos for other bands too!
Jawn has been a friend of Awsten's for a long time, he even was a part of the same band as him before Waterparks. Jawn eventually found his place in photography and he streams on Twitch occasionally.
Travis M. Riddle
Birthday: December 24, 1992(?)
Occupation: Author
Travis has known Awsten before the band was a thing. He has helped Waterparks with various things: correcting their lyrics on Genius.com, giving his opinion on their music before released, starring in some of their music videos, and overall just being a good friend. Travis has also written a couple of books, such as Mother Pig and Balam, Spring.
Zephani Jong (Zeph)
Birthday: April 18, 1999
Occupation: Singer
Zeph is one of the band's most recent friends, she made a vocal appearance on the song "Crying Over It All." She makes and produces some of her own music, most of which just being little songs she uploads on YouTube. Awsten actually recorded guitar for her song "scared of everything." Zeph has built a pretty large digital footprint, mostly just tweeting her thoughts out on Twitter. She is focused on growing and becoming the artist she wants to be.
De'Wayne Jackson
Birthday: June 27, 1995
Occupation: Rapper
De'Wayne has been buddies with Waterparks for quite some time now. He's toured with them a couple of times and even provided some vocals for the song "LIKE IT." Though, Awsten did a feature on his song "Perfume." De'Wayne has mixed the genres of rock and rap to create his own unique sound. His mission was to show no one should live in boxes and neither should their music.

After the episode went up, outraged headlines and furious tweets—“matty healy, how are you getting on stage every night and mocking toxic masculinity and then going on a podcast and undoing the whole thing by being wildly ignorant, misogynistic, homophobic, racist, everything else under the sun”—predictably ensued.
I asked him about the podcast. He’d been doing so much promo, he told me, that he wanted to do something that felt more like simply talking with his friends. But, of course, he had done this all in public, on mike. Had he baited his fans on purpose? “A little bit,” he said. “But it doesn’t actually matter. Nobody is sitting there at night slumped at their computer, and their boyfriend comes over and goes, ‘What’s wrong, darling?’ and they go, ‘It’s just this thing with Matty Healy.’ That doesn’t happen.”
“Maybe it does,” I said. “If it does,” he said, “you’re either deluded or you are, sorry, a liar. You’re either lying that you are hurt, or you’re a bit mental for being hurt. It’s just people going, ‘Oh, there’s a bad thing over there, let me get as close to it as possible so you can see how good I am.’ And I kind of want them to do that, because they’re demonstrating something so base level.””

“In May, tabloids reported that Healy and Swift were an item. Both of them, onstage during their respective tours, seemed to conspicuously mouth the words “This is about you, you know who you are, I love you.” Healy flew from the Asia leg of his tour, in the Philippines, to attend Swift’s show in Nashville. There was chatter, online, that it was a joke, or a publicity stunt, or perhaps simply two ardent self-chroniclers gathering material about intertwined egos for devastating pop albums to come. Neither of their representatives would comment on the record, but I kept getting texts from people who knew them, and who insisted: this time, it’s real.”

New album: Scarlet by Doja Cat
All things considered, I think that Scarlet will probably end up as my favourite record of 2023. While there have been plenty of others that I’ve enjoyed before now, there hasn’t really been anything else that I’ve obsessed over quite so much and played to absolute death as this. However, i'm not seeing many people who feel the same. While a few have declared themselves fully on board, reviews have often been middling, bemoaning its sharp turns of style and tone. Similarly, it's failed to gain much popular momentum, charting high in the first week but then dropping out of the charts at speed. So far as I can tell, anyone not put off by its embrace of hard rapping and old style beats appears to have balked at the relentless barbs directed at her online stans. Given how lonely my position feels, I figured that I ought make a case for it. No doubt sales will be impacted. Warn the pressing plants. Put Spotify on alert.
First of all, Doja comes out swinging. Megahit single “Paint The Town Red” is surely already familiar but it bears repeating what an extraordinary banger it is. The track appears relatively slight on first hearing, underpinned by a glitchy retro sample of Walk On By, but its real power comes from a bouncing bassline and Doja’s joyously unrepentant delivery - “Bitch, I said what I said” - as she rips into the losers and haters alike. This vibe dominates the front end of the album, with the stakes raised even higher on “Demons” and “Fuck the Girls”, tracks where she goes off at an absolute fever pitch. But while the music on “Demons” matches her ferocity with a heavy 808 attack, FTG feels like a musical harbinger for the rest of the record, its twitchy live bass forming a bridge into some of the easier going material.

And it’s fair to say that, beyond these harder edged songs, most of the album sounds absolutely gorgeous. Tracks like the high octane pop of “Ouchies” and the warm, swirling RnB of “Gun” and “Go Off” are entirely absorbing, the kind of music that you don’t so much listen to as luxuriate in. If there is an issue here, it’s that it sometimes feels like Doja isn’t letting go as much as the music is. 97 is one of the best examples of the kind of disjointed funk that comes to dominate later on but her claim that it “looks like we don’t give a shit” is heavily undermined by how often she returns to attacking her enemies. When she (hilariously) begins a line with “…in a tweet that I’m probably gonna stand by…”, you start to get the feeling that Scarlet may be one of the most '...and another thing...' albums ever to be released.
And yet, I can’t say that I really mind. Being new to her, it may be that I just haven’t had time to get bored of it, but I’ve heard plenty of hip hop albums where rappers string out beefs like this whilst being far less entertaining. Say what you like about Doja but, a few clumsy rhymes aside, her rapping is generally excellent and she always has a choice insult for her detractors, whether they’re mocking her shaved head on Attention (“boo hoo my n-, I ain’t sad that you won’t fuck me”) or fretting over her mock-‘Satanic’ affectations on “Shutcho” (“got you cussin’ on a Sunday now - GOOD LORD!”). Do we get more of this stuff than we really need to? Yes, we probably do, but even where it wears out it’s welcome a bit, it’s a rare tune where she can’t make me crack a smile.
And in any case, there’s always something else worth focusing on. This continues to be true through the second half, where its softer elements mutate into dislocated neo-soul, full of twisting funk basslines and a strong late night vibe. This is especially so on Skull and Bones, where Doja’s overlapping vocal lines knit into an intoxicating psychedelic sweep, and the slinky sex track “Often”, a rare non-rap tune where she comes off like a huskier and hornier Erykah Badu. In general, the few love songs here feel genuinely touching, especially new single “Agora Hills” where her adoption of a teen girl persona only heightens her vulnerability as she gently pokes fun at it. And while even here the conflict isn’t quite done with (Doja’s desire to “rub it in their face” refers to the media controversy over her new and deeply unpleasant boyfriend), that softening is not just a welcome respite from the fury but a real ace in Scarlet’s sleeve.

Yet apparently it isn’t enough. And that's a perspective I can understand tbh: the people waiting for a Doja Cat album might be interested in the poppier material but they probably want to hear a lot more singing and they could certainly do without the relentless bitching and sniping. And from the other side, a lot of the people who might be interested this kind of hip hop are fairly unlikely to hear it: Doja Cat is a big pop star, whereas rap is notoriously focused on “keeping it real” and shunning the supposedly commercial (so long as it suits them anyway). Given the pace with which it's dropped out of the charts, it seems a bit late for Scarlet to find a mass audience now, though while its singles remain on the radio I guess that all is not yet lost. Regardless of anything, it’s a record that makes me extremely happy but for Doja Cat, I guess the challenge is to knit this - in all truth - absolutely breathtaking sound into something that makes a little less effort to rub everyone up the wrong way. But with the biggest single of the year still under her belt, I feel like she’s got a few lives left in her.

Like many famous people, Swift complains about the prying of tabloid gossips. In fact, she does a lot to encourage the attention. Accepting the Best Female Video award for "I Knew You Were Trouble" at the VMAs this August, Swift said: "I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, who knows exactly who he is"—a statement that unleashed a torrent of tweets about One Direction singer Harry Styles, the song's reputed target.
At such moments, you can't help but conclude that you are watching a shrewd businesswoman at work: It doesn't hurt Swift's bottom line to keep gossip mills whirring.
Swift has heard the criticism, but she waves it off. "There's a spin on every single celebrity out there," she said. "I know that one of my spins is: 'Oh, Taylor's heartbroken. Oh, Taylor fell in love and the guy broke her heart. She's sad all the time, and lonely.'
"I mean, they can say that all they want. Those are real feelings that every single person goes through. I think that it's okay to be mad at someone who hurt you. This isn't about, like, the pageantry of trying to seem like nothing affects you. I'm a songwriter. Everything affects me."
"I'm a songwriter," surely, is the apt response. The tradition of musical score-settling stretches all the way back to medieval troubadours and lyre-plucking ancients; it's been a mainstay of American song at least since the first bluesman aimed an acidic twelve-bars at the woman who'd done him wrong. Bob Dylan is an incorrigible, at times malicious, kisser-and-teller; for decades, rock critics have been quoting with admiration Elvis Costello's famous dictum: "The only motivation points for me writing all these songs are revenge and guilt." Drake's new album Nothing Was the Same is, as usual, a vérité catalogue of his "bitches" and booty calls, in which he goes so far as to name one of his civilian exes, "Courtney from Hooters on Peachtree"—a creepier move by far than Swift's sly swipes at her famous former beaux. It's hard not to detect a sexist double standard in the policing of Swift's confessions, especially when you consider the routine misogyny in the songs of rockers, rappers, and woebegone beardy indie balladeers. Taylor Swift is a young woman who dates guys, falls in love, falls out of love, and writes some songs about it. Must we begrudge Swift her muse?

1. Kanye West Interrupts Taylor’s VMA Speech
This scandalous moment will forever live in our heads rent-free. There was no wrongdoing on Taylor’s part here, but this unforgettable moment certainly set a series of unfortunate events in motion – Taylor and Kanye became the biggest enemies in showbiz, and other celebs saw it as an opportunity to feud with Tay, as well.
Kanye West has done some shocking things, but this was outrageous. In 2009, the rapper stormed the VMA stage while Taylor was giving her acceptance speech for ‘Best Female Video’. Shockingly, he snatched the mic out of her hand and claimed that Beyoncé should have won the award, instead.
Naturally, Taylor was left dumbfounded, as Kanye sabotaged her glory and took away the joy of winning such a prestigious award. The Life of Pablo rapper did admit during an interview the following day that his actions were wrong, but the damage had already been done…
2. Taylor Feuds with Katy Perry
For a good five years (2008-2013), Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a close relationship, having risen to fame at the same time. But in 2013, fans noticed that they were no longer pals.
Their long-lasting feud began when Taylor’s backup dancer jumped ship and went to perform for Katy Perry on tour, instead of her own. Taylor was also dating Katy’s ex, John Mayor, at the time, giving fans all the more reason to suspect a possible feud.
The two best-selling females were clearly at war after throwing shade at each other and bad-mouthing one another in public. Taylor called Katy her “straight-up enemy” in a Rolling Stone interview; Katy gave us the iconic “Regina George in sheep’s clothing” tweet; and Taylor released Bad Blood, which fans believed to be about Katy (more on that later).
That said, after years of cryptic messages and lyrics, the ladies have patched things up when Taylor asked Katy to appear in her You Need To Calm Down music video.
