HELLO OFMD FANDOM! It's the Good Omens Mascot and Resident Dumbass, back again for part II. First, let's clear the air of all controversy!

Some of you lovely maggots were kind enough to warn me about certain discourse about a salad spoon and also about a certain gentleman named Izzy. I was warned not to make assumptions and not to take sides, and I hear some members had to leave the fandom for a while because it got toxic. Maggots. All the rest of you. Worry not about me. I'm here to unite the OFMD fandom! How, you ask? By being so undeniably stupid in my own opinions that you all will have to unite to disagree with me. You underestimate the power of my dumbassery. Well, let's not dilly dally and dawdle, here's the updated summary:

I have been informed there is cannibalism on this ship but it is not real. Someone pretends to eat someone and then their wife helps them fake their death while they run away from the ship though their lover wanted them to run to China.

There are BDSM lesbians, which is honestly such a slay, Pinterest has let me down by not informing me of that when I made Part I. I will no longer be using Pinterest a reliable source in future academic essays.

Mermaid Stede performs necromancy while a song called Kate Bush plays (I don't know who this is, a politician? Idk whether of US or UK).

Gravy Basket is a destination and Buttons is a sea witch and there is educational stabbing. Buttons is then a bird because of the BDSM lesbians.

There is a lady who is extremely beautiful and intimidating and powerful and she has twenty husbands and I assumed incorrectly that you were all talking about a Jack Russel terrier.

Let's start with the controversy! Izzy. Secondary protagonist or antagonist? Good or bad? Kindly father figure or homoerotically charged friend? Necessary death or not? No no no. Behold:

I present a new question, a hot take sizzling from the pan: Did Izzy really exist?

Personally, I firmly believe that no, he did not. I believe that the rum on the ship was spiked with hallucinogens.

Izzy was simply the manifestation of Ed's Freudian subconscious, taking the shape of a human being, vaguely resembling a humanoid potato Ed was forced to boil as a kid. I was a psychology student with a final grade of 99% and I accept only destructive criticism on my posts thank you. Feel free to discuss whether he boiled the potato in a fit of rage or whether he was forced to.

There are assorted Ned's, Mary's and an uncertain number of Jeff's on ship.

One of the Jeff's is an accountant, and there is a nonbinary talking sword named Jim. Actually I'm not sure if they talk.

Love you all, rooting for the show to be renewed.

This finale was so rushed. They really needed two more episodes to give it some breathing room. I got whiplash watching it. Not Jenkins fault, it’s HBOs fault.

So so SO rushed. Felt like a plot summary of an episode rather than an episode tbh.

That being said, killing Izzy was a shock. I don’t think he realized how loved Izzy is in the fandom. I think Izzy represented the old Blackbeard and killing him was a plot device to move Ed forward and Jenkins assumed no one would really mind that much. I’m so sorry to everyone that really loves Izzy, that’s so hard to watch(I love Dean Winchester and like….oh boy don’t even get me started on that shithole of a finale).

I wanted to comment on Ed and Stede cause that’s really been the focus of the show. But it feels less important than addressing that Jenkins did NOT kill Izzy because he wanted to hurt you. This isn’t Supernatural. This man has tried so hard to give us well rounded, solid LGBTQ+ content. Please don’t hate on him. Tell him how you feel but please be nice and respectful.

This show has pacing issues and overlooks things but overall has good intentions. I know it hurts but please don’t run Jenkins over with a bus.

god I just cannot get over Con O’Neil’s acting ability especially when it comes to micro-expressions..

I just finished my first rewatch of episode 6 and this time around I noticed something important. When Izzy first came up on deck, face done up tastefully and hair voluptuous, he did not make eye contact with anyone. His voice was curt, loud, telling Frenchie to follow his lead, play the tones he just ‘la, la’d.

Immediately, Izzy shifts to his singing voice. He allows himself a few quick glances around but that was it as he began. The tone is soft but still with that harsh undertone that we associate with Mr. Hands. A few measures pass and we see Izzy begin to look up to see the kind gazes of his crew staring back at him. We even see Stede give him a kind smile as Izzy begins his solo. His confidence grows as the song continues, he approaches the Goddess Calypso to extend a hand to kiss the top of her hand. He is not able to finish the song until after Ned Lowe lands in the ocean but he switches to French, singing the language of love as he looks out upon the crew that has finally accepted him.

Further to my post yesterday about 'alternate universe izzy arriving on the Revenge post-izzy's death and being super confused that he's not 1. dating ed/stede, 2. that his counterpart got fucking tortured and maimed and 3. the members of the crew are either traumatized (lucius, jim, frenchie), dead (ivan) or missing (buttons).

I raise you - Izzy visiting his own grave and fucking mourning for this other him that went through all the shit he's living in his nightmares as the memories filter in.

listen I’m not saying that buttons should bring izzy back from the dead I’m just saying that if he DID come back kind of fucked up and needing to consume the flesh/blood/life force of others to sustain himself, it WOULD kind of be a fun parallel to consuming himself (the toe incidents <3) and then burning out. something something about community in the most fucked up sense. something something about edward realizing how the trauma in the beginning of the second season affected izzy and then potentially sacrificing something important to save him and stifle his hunger forever. something something about putting blackbeard to rest for good requires sacrifice from both parties. idk. i want to see that fruity old man again.
