Could you explain your position on Shallura? Since Allura was established as a teenager when she started dating Lance and Shiro was very clearly an adult. I can understand the bi shiro headcannon but the shallura thing worries me

i am going to remind yall that i have been in this fandom since 2016. and in the early seasons, allura was not established as a teenager. in fact she was coded as older, as closer to shiro's age -- there was a specific divide between her and the younger paladins that she did not have with shiro. they made her younger (both explicitly and in mannerisms) as the show went on. and i do not give a fuck about voltron like...post s4 and i didn't even watch s7-8. so like. especially with older fics, im going to enjoy shallura.

If there are Shiro clones in canon, are there Matt clones in this AU?

Matt clones... Pidge's worst nightmare.

But also. This is a very interesting idea. Because Matt dodges the 'die in the astral plane' bullet that Shiro didn't avoid. Which means there's no need for a clone to replace him. Except... Haggar notices something very interesting about him while she has him in her clutches. There's a strange irregularity with his memories- it's almost like he has a second set of them, overlaid with the rest, ones that even she cannot seem to access. His memories are normal up until that point.

Very curious.

When Matt becomes black paladin, she ponders if she can use this to sow chaos among the paladins. What she can see is that after the point where his memories become irregular, his sister the green paladin seems to regard him with some suspicion. As if there was a marked change after that point. In that case...

She begins to arrange events in her favor. She sends a fake distress signal from a planet that houses a race of shapeshifters and telepaths that even the Empire avoids. If they kill the paladins, that works for her. If they don't... well, that would be the first phase in her plan. To sow a seed of doubt.

Pidge is on her own when she picks up on a distress signal. She finds a damaged craft, and soon finds its pilot.

It's Matt.

To be more exact, it's Matt like he used to be, before he joined the Garrison. Before he started to get really weird. He stares at her like she's a mirage at first, and then tenses up, asks if she's really Katie. If this is just another trick. She's confused. Who else would she be? And how can Matt be here, if she just saw him on the Castle not even several hours ago?

This Matt looks up at her in horror.

"Katie," he says, "-that thing isn't me."

i never got a quest trigger to investigate the beach for Mol, so i never even knew about the tiefling kid, Mirkon :< so i got to the harpy fight and he's already dead

It originally started as just Katie. But when @breadstickcat said she had a pic of Shorty in a similar pose and showed me the WIP, I needed to add Shorty, too. So here we go. A couple of scarred up chaos twins for your viewing pleasure. Ready to cause mayhem and then get peanut butter cookies.

Of all places they have family dinners, Pidge likes it when they go to the McClain house best. Everyone else’s place is fun, and she’s never once had a bad time, but there’s something especially special about dinners with Lance and his family. Of course she sees Lance every day — they still live on the Castle, they tried living separately of each other post-war but it was way too anxiety inducing — but they all decided, unanimously, that they would make an effort once a week to visit each of their families.

Visiting the McClains in Cuba, though, is the most fun.

The house is just so busy! There are so many people in it at all times. It’s always loud and exciting and there are always a million things to do. Pidge is always reminded of Meet the Robinsons when she walks through the worn door with peeling green paint and meets two people that were not there the last time she visited and whose relations are ambiguous. It’s great. That, and Marcela McClain may be the coolest woman Pidge has ever met. She’s awesome. She’s an Olympic heavyweight champion, and her biceps are bigger than Pidge’s head. Allura was so delighted to meet her she could barely speak. Pidge wasn’t far off. She’s also a professor of mathematics. Pidge remembers asking once why her career paths were so drastically different, and she’d simply shrugged and said she picked the careers that would piss the most people off and went from there.

Pidge fully understands why Lance missed her so much.

The absolute, number one, greatest thing about the McClain house, though, is the photo albums. Marcela was meticulous. She has dozens of ‘em, never highlighting one kid more than the other, and never missing a moment. Pidge has every embarrassing photo of Lance she could ever want or need. (Her favourite is a picture of Lance, circa 12 years old, with braces and the most emo outfit of all time, including badly dyed black hair. He’s stuck upside down on a set of monkey bars and looks miserable about it. It’s her lock screen. Occasionally she sends it to Keith and they laugh themselves to tears over it. Lance hates it with a fiery passion.)

One night, after dinner, they’re all crowded around the living room, half on top of each other, flipping through one of the older albums. Pidge watches as picture after picture of baby Lance flips by, and she notices that he is never, not even once, standing on his own two feet. She glances over at him now, and shakes her head fondly as she sees him curled up into a tight ball on Keith’s lap, head resting on his chest, playing idly with one of Hunk’s hands.

Pidge points to one of the pictures, where baby Lance is mid laugh, standing on top of teen Luis’ shoulders.

“You are always being held by someone,” she says. “We’re you afraid of being set down, you dork?”

She was teasing, poking fun at Lance’s constant desire to just hold and be held by people, so she wasn’t expecting the vulnerability in his voice.

“I was afraid of being let go,” he says matter-of-factly. He doesn’t sound upset, and he doesn’t look sad. Just as if that’s one of the truths of the universe, something he simply lives with and has come to terms with. His nonchalance doesn’t stop Keith from pressing a gentle kiss to his hair, or Hunk’s quick squeeze, or Allura’s hand popping up from nowhere to pat him on the cheek.

“We love you, Lance,” they chorus together, and Lance laughs. Pidge grins, too.

“We’ll never let you go,” she assures, “we like you too much.”

Keith and Pidge are absolutely besties.

They are the ultimate introvert alliance, they are both autistic, they both like cryptids. Their older brothers are best friends. They are small but deadly. They can both Hotwire a car in under fifteen seconds. They watch old alien documentary’s together and laugh at the inaccuracies.

Thanks to a post I saw about a person losing their cat, finding them a week later, then their cat came back later after that, thus leaving them with two identical cats, a thought hit. What if Katie was cloned, Shorty (her clone) went home with the others, and then Katie returned home. Well. Now they have siblings because these two would decide to be twins. And you know what? Good for them. So. Here we go. The chaos duo.
