The other day I wasn't dealing with numbers in any way, not even eg. license plates or billboards etc, but saw the same 5-number sequence, twice on my two receipts that day (I could have subconsciously made this happen but my subconscious would have had to have planned it for several months). I said fuck it and bought a lottery ticket for the first time (wish me luck but I don't think I'll win- had to do something with those numbers tho I guess).

Honestly in the past several years I have been trying to get in touch with "weaponizing schizo mode" to put that in a joking way, I mean exercising one's intuition or tuning to synchronicity or whatever it could be called, symbiosis between self and the other. I don't necessarily believe there's reason we can fathom to the unseen we anthropomorphize, but there is often "rhyme" - or at least irony which can even be truly bitter and troubling, something like Loki trickster aspect when it's sinister.

But yeah, if it's a muscle just trying to get it in shape. That line in the blues song "I should have listened/to my second mind" - one thing that could be powerful is realizing how often second guessing or third guessing is or isn't the way to go, as a habit. I think the best thinking is something more like openness or listening rather than talking. Debate/dialogue is mostly so gross on the 'net, conscious logical thought is often extremely useless, and a facade masking the emotional and unconscious, which is vastly more tricky/intelligent and sophisticated.

(Recently there's the talk of people having no internal dialogue, and therefore being intellectually inferior or even "NPCs". Barf. Does a surfer catching perfect waves have to think in dialogue, or someone making genius plays in a sport, or an artist or musician...)

The "flow state" is a state to try and get, to have as much of in life as possible IMO.

All that said, some vigilance to try and keep purely in good tune (not to sound all new age-y there) is to your benefit. I'd tell you with caution from experience watch out for trying to be in tune with the schizo mode when in duress or high emotion. (Or under the influence haha.) I've taken a lot of risks in my life doing dumb shit but no more pushing luck/statistics so much personally. It can lead to trouble wanting it so much and being forceful I guess. Not me but I know a dude who the chick he was seeing, often told him she had fantasies of him breaking into her place with a ski mask on and forcing himself on her. When they were going through a breakup he got stoned and thought fulfilling that scenario would be the way to win her back. Didn't work out good for him, that dude went to jail! (Not for seckshual assault tho thank Christ it didn't get that far, just the b&e)

So yeah, sorry for this being super long but this is something I'm interested in and didn't know how to put all this more succinctly.

TLDR: I think it's like a muscle or skill that can be honed, and to have fun with it in lighter things, and for heavy things sleep on it!! and to not fuck around being heavily influenced by toxins or dark shit- could end up just an urban legend, a story of someone who did something stupid, and jah always deserve more than that.

Just Dance Care AU!

Ok ok so I thought of a story for this Au but it’s nothing really impactful or full of drama and angst like my other au’s, I wanted to leave this au easy and fun to play around, because, let’s say it. Just Dance and drama in the same sentence makes me laugh.

(I gave up on Y/n design because I couldn't figure out a general look for them. This is you we are talking about! Draw your own JD fit, I'll draw mine soon XD)

Anyway here’s the story so far:

Year 2029, videogames industry made a huge step forward and classic consoles and devices were substituted by the new and upgraded VR headsets with full body tracking. It’s something like the NerveGear in Sword Art Online without the kill switch. Some games still require you to actually move your body (like fitness games or sports because yeah, they don’t have a purpose otherwise).

Y/n wanted to buy the newest VR headset but, while searching for the best offer, they found out FazCo entertainment was hosting a giveaway, the prize? One of their prototypes, a VR meant to be released the next year coinciding with the opening of their first mega pizza plex.

(so the plex doesn’t exist right now). You decide to sign up for the giveaway and after a while you receive an email telling you you won the VR headset and that, to claim it, you need to read and sign a series of NDA policies (understandable, it’s a prototype headset that’s not even in commerce). Some clauses are a little bit concerning but nothing you hadn’t read on other electronics booklets, so you decide to sign. After, like, a day, you have the VR in your hands.

The box let you know with super saturated and colorful writing, that the VR came with a game pre-installed inside. Uh, that’s why they were giving one away, they wanted a free game tester…but you know what, it’s worth it.

You always liked Just Dance games, they make you think about happy memories of your childhood. This pre-installed game called “Five Dances at Freddy’s” is a close copy of your childhood game with original FazCo songs, characters, environments and also some collaborations with other famous artists. It probably will be the cause of a big copyright infringement report.

There are various ways to play it: story mode, Casual dance, Five Dances, and Just Dance Care.

The first one is similar to the casual dance mode but with little cutscenes between a dance and another to tell a tale, Casual dance is how you can play the collab songs, Five Dances is the multiplayer mode and Just Dance Care is a more uhhhh “hard” way to play the game with all the other modes mixed in it. You stare at the description of the last mode smirking and decide to try it first just to see how far you can get before losing (yes you can lose in hard mode in this Just Dance, but you don’t die, you just have to restart from the beginning). Turns out the FazCo wasn’t kidding when they advertised the new headset as a breakthrough in the world of virtual reality headsets, the thing TRANSPORTED you inside the game itself.

You almost have a heart attack when you can’t find your VR on your head, but before you can try something you are blocked by two tall individuals who you think are the “tutorial” characters.

Yadda yadda, tutorial, you can pause the game and exit whenever you need just by opening an hidden menu, you find out your tutorial characters are called Sun and Moon and that you are way worse than you remembered at dancing (damn full body tracking, there is no way you are going to do a cartwheel in the middle of a dance, you still don’t know if your body is inside your home and if you’ll physically feel pain if you fall and you don’t want to find out).

You pass an embarrassingly long time trying to win your first dance battle just to discover it was still the tutorial.

You try to go on with the story but you fail at the first real battle with a bear character named Freddy.

And guess what? You have to start again from the tutorial! Y/n is gonna spend A LOT of time with Sun and Moon if this goes on.

ugh ok ok ok i am running wild with this gloom infection concept so i wrote a bunch of stuff down before i forget. subject to change bc im kind of just spitballing as of rn

CW for horror/gore/outbreaks of illness/discussion of violence

Twilight

Comes from Ordon. Ordon was one of the last places for the gloom to reach. Twilight’s not sure if he’s the only one left, but he’s searching for the others despite the village being more or less destroyed.

Was infected with gloom, was “cured” in Faron Spring (read died and resurrected via light spirit shenanigans)

Instead of Twili markings he has gloom scars. He keeps his left arm in wraps where the gloom left his bone exposed at his wrist and upper arm. The wounds are just kind of there and don’t seem to get better but aren’t getting worse. They no longer give him pain and don't bleed. He also has scars on his cheeks/forehead. The whites of his eyes are a little dull

Gloom did weird shit to him! He doesn’t see well but he has sharp smelling and hearing. He’s very slow to bleed so can sustain more damage but is also very slow to heal. Sunlight’s not great for him and he's pyrophobic

Gloom infected people don’t come after him anymore

Around large groups of infected he sort of joins the mob but can be brought out of it with distance

Somewhat forgetful

Brawler - will use improvised weapons or just go fully barehanded against infected

Wild

Comes from Hateno

Got trapped in a house fire set by a neighbor, managed to survive through divine intervention

Lost his memory, covered in scars. The scars cause him mobility issues

Selective mute as a trauma response

Long hair :D but more like TotK length and not LU length

Agile - good at climbing, uses a compound bow and hunting arrows (or makes his own in a pinch)

Wanders aimlessly without a home to attach himself to or people to look for

Makes elixirs/good cook

pretty reckless, enjoys looting to find Good Ingredients XD

Wars

From Castle Town

Military background - one of the few survivors of the initial outbreaks

Had to put down a lot of his own men and civilians

Very outwardly aloof and avoidant of his trauma

Control issues, compulsive need to be "hygienic" (sometimes to the point of harm)

Adept with firearms and will use improvised weapons to spare ammo

Left Castle Town to go to Outset Island

Wind

Outset is mostly untouched by the gloom, but the island is quarantined

Mainlanders tried to flee to the islands and it caused chaos leading to riots

In the chaos of the riots, Aryll was mistakenly taken to the mainland and Wind went after her

Really good at making and setting traps

Terrified of the infected

Gloom

Outbreak caused by Ganon’s tomb being unsealed and his curse being unleashed

The gloom is spread through bodily fluids like blood or spit. Most commonly it’s spread through biting and scratching

Gloomhands can also spread the infection and expedite it into hours rather than days

Infected wounds can be treated with brightbloom seeds which only grow in the very gloom infested depths under Hyrule which makes the medicine hard to come by

Gloom slowly rots the infected while they’re alive. It also degrades mental capability such as cognitive function and sanity. Progresses very similar to dementia except it causes aggression and violence

Gloomhands are borne from several infected corpses piling in one place

Gloom scars are called “gloom burn” because they resemble burn scars. A lot of times the flesh doesn’t entirely heal with successful treatment

The Chain

They converge at Lon-Lon through coincidence

Tasked by Hylia to beat Ganon and end the curse

The Zelda’s all wield light magic which can cure gloom infection and with enough strength (usually through multiple of them gathered) can reverse the effects of gloom and create safe oases

Aside from needing to mull over the rest of the chain, i'm also considering appearances from Midna, the resistance, ravio & hilda, and phantom ganon

the map will be mostly based on totk with some adjustments. modern contemporary setting with fantasy elements.

It was harrowing watching something so large just be ripped to shreds within a matter of seconds. Wood, sails, people go flying and as it continues on, leaving behind only scraps."

Read it yesterday and cried so much over it, instantly became a fave.

I was introduced to this story by Jellyfisfire's JAW-DROPPINGLY INCREDIBLE podfic and I was instantly and irrevocably *hooked*. The story is insanely well written with emotions that will punch you in the gut and an incredible reinterpretation of canon into the illegal street racing world. Add to that Jelly's voice which pulls out every one of those emotions and the bass thumping and tires squealing and I was HOOKED

Ok update on my theory about what happened today after reading up more on Jaiden’s pov.

I still think it was the federation that assassinated Pomme. It makes no sense with the previously established binary entities behavior for it to change so drastically.

Yes, it got its ass beat the other day but it did when it was targeting Dapper as well. Bbh 100% out played the binary entity’s attack against Dapper and it learned/adapted. During its second and successful attack against dapper, it adapted via breaking the waystone, ambushing the players while they were building/distracted and on a precarious terrain, and placing lava to both cut down everyone’s health as well as making it even more difficult to run away. These adaptions make 100% sense after the first failed attack. These are logical leaps adaptions based on direct experience from previous failed attacks.

The jump in ability and drastic change in strategy the entity showed today is insane and makes no sense from a storytelling pov. But it makes a whole lot of sense if the entity was NOT the binary entity but was trying to frame the binary entity.

Now to Jaiden, Roier, and Cucorucho. The apple thing was one hell of a coincidence XD like it’s such a coincidence that I almost think irl Jaiden knew her character was going to be framed by Pomme’s death and intentionally tossed it out for good measure - but that’s just a crack conspiracy theory and is like 99% not true lol

Jaiden told cucorucho that she wants Bobby back and to protect all of the eggs. It is VERY possible cucorucho only listened to the first part, wanting Bobby back, and traded one of Pomme’s lives for it without telling Jaiden. Only time will tell.

Also, bbh clarified that he doesn’t suspect Jaiden of making a deal to sacrifice Pomme or anything, he thinks she is being used/framed by the federation.

Why the Federation would assassinate Pomme is a big question mark tho. The only reason I could think of would be to revive Bobby for Jaiden some how or perhaps to push the players to look to the federation for protection against the binary entities.

In that case - the binary entities have been attacking for weeks but the players have remained independent from the federation, seeking to protect the eggs themselves. However, Pomme’s assassination shows that there is literally nothing the players can do to save their children. The binary entities are trying to threaten the players so they leave and until now have been fallible. They can be outsmarted and killed via outside forces (fall damage and iron golems/mobs bbh mvp XD) Pomme’s assassination showed a completely different tune. What ever attacked Pomme was invis and one shoted all of them. This isn’t a threat to leave. This is a destroyer of hope.

The entity blindsided Philza and Pomme while Cucorucho is being so helpful to Jaiden and helping to protect the eggs somehow. Cucorucho is reach out trying to “help” the exact same time this invincible being kills Pomme.

The thing that gets me is why was the being invisible. It didn’t need to be. It could have teleported behind Phil and one shot him before moving onto the helpless Pomme to kill her and being visibile would have changed nothing. The only reason would be to hide the beings appearance. Why would they hide its appearance? Because it wasn’t the binary entity. It was able to disguise its “name” to frame the binary entity hoping no one would think too hard about all the differences in the attack patterns.

I suppose only time will tell but for now I refuse to believe this was the binary entity lol there is too much evidence pointing otherwise.

Instead of the full impersonation thing Vtuber Mac should do a really good impression is smash Wukong on streams to make fun of him. Eventually the gag progresses to adding mocking accessories to his avatar and just ending in a full parody model. He never claims to actually be Wukong or that he’s doing an impression of him it’s just a totally random character he made up that has absolutely nothing to do with his ongoing rivalry at all. similarities are “purely coincidence “ and have “ nothing to do with any real people” but literally everyone knows the joke.

It's like when a Let's Player does a really good celebrity impression/joke; you don't expect the actual celebrity or historical figure to comment on it! XD

Smash!LEM really do be the type to have a running joke where he "impersonates" Sun Wukong for a video or two, mocking his more hot-tempered reckless traits from the stories. And I hc that a lot of LEM's have really good vocal mimicry, so Mac catches a few people off guard with how good his impressions are. He busts it out in VR games using a classic-style Sun Wukong avatar and all the demons in the server are like "Hold up..."

Mac even sneaks into Wukong's own streams just to donate to his twitch and do the impression and dunk on him.

Smash!SWK, doing a livestream: "Ok just got a 100 credit donation from "BebopALiuEr", thank you Liu Er. You wanna say anything to the chat?" A Voice Perfectly matching Wukong's: "Hi I'm the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, and I am the only monkey in existance to need peach-scented hair gel!" Smash!SWK, face scrunching in anger: "YOU!!! How many times have you been blocked!?! Face me in real life you coward!" >:0!!! "BebopALiuEr": (′ꈍωꈍ‵)

ofc Smash!SWK finds takes it a little too personally. And Smash!LEM finds Wukong's frustration too cute to stop doing it <3

Do you have any recommendations for good places to start reading Aquaman comics? I read Aquaman: The Becoming recently and really enjoyed it. I’ll probably read Aquamen next and I’d like to dive in deeper to the aquafam lore, especially for Mera, but as it is in comics, there’s a lot of it 😅

Okeydokey! So in my recent Aquaman read-through, I just read thru all of the Aquaman solo titles (Well I'm still on Rebirth), but :P I recognize that's not what everyone likes so :P My favorite Aquaman comics based on Mera Content:

Death of a Prince: This TPB has both some diving into Garth and Mera lore. after the infamous [spoilers if you've somehow missed hearing them] Mera goes to her home dimension (at this time called Dimension Aqua) in the back-ups of some Aquaman comics, and Garth explores where he came from in some back-ups.

After that Mera doesn't really get any good content until Aquaman #47, 48, 49 (Abnett's 3 issues right after David's run, Mera's Oceanid plotline).

Brightest day is good for Mera content, and Mera is fun characterization but doesn't do much in Geoff Johns new 52 run, and IIRC I enjoyed some of Mera's feats in Parker's run (right after Geoff John's, new 52 run), and then Abnett does some nice stuff in his Rebirth run.

Atlantean lore I prefer the 90s lore associated with the David run, so that does make it complicated... favorite character stuff does not coincide with favorite lore stuff XD David also just flops on pretty much every female character he writes in Aquaman 1994. However it also does introduce some cool character additions to Aquafam (some of whom are sadly forgotten about immediately). Koryak is great but David quickly runs out of ideas on what to do with him.

Lorena Marquez as Aquagirl starts in Sub Diego.

For focus on Atlantean lore I'd suggest The Atlantis Chronicles it kicks ass and dives deep into worldbuilding.

I just realized something EXTREMELY funny, some drows communities are known for trading with mindflayers ! The fact you fell for the mindflayer romance, while playing a drow, just aligns with lore with such coincidence it's too funny to ignore ! xD

fsdkjhkjd ok that's amazing X'D I didn't even know that.

But also I'm playing a drow because I wanted a character who is a bit of a pariah. Which ALSO ended up making a lot of sense because it gave her clear reasons for why she'd empathise with someone who everyone tells her is intrinsically evil and violent based entirely on his race. So it all works out in the end!

Hm I’m not very sure because we have A LOT of differences obliviously but I do project a couple of issues I have into him lmao. (poor lad. But really I project more into Maria for exemple. I think.) So I guess it depend yeah

Oh wait I am dumb I do project lot of interest I have into him cough cough but it’s pure headcanons territory. Maybe his good sides too.

2. Did you always like this character?

At the beginning I was very neutral towards Gehrman. Neither good or bad opinion on him. I guess I just wait to see more. I knew some people like or hate him but I wasn’t sure why exactly.

7. Does the character’s age matter to you?

Matter like, do I care about how old he is? Or matter like, is his age important?

I guess it is very important in context! He lived for a while but at what cost! Look all the shit he’s been through! And he’s on the verge of death. Or at least being in the dream made him live even longer than he should supposed too. That’s a lot of background but he’s the first hunter so that’s impactful. He’s from another time many in current Yharnam can’t recall. He was there, at the begging of it all!

So in that context that would be very different and create a very different impact if he was younger. Still most of the stuff I write for him is when I imagined him younger but yeah I like the character like this too.

16. Have you ever cried when thinking about this character? Genuinely?

Hm… I guess? Well I do imagined make him cry more hehe (love making the poor blorbo suffer 😭 sorry not sorry) but I personally don’t really cry my eyes out for it I guess? Ok the day the manage to write the fic when Maria died ok I might cry.

Back to the subject when I first finish bloodborne I listen to his theme non stop and cried at 3am XD so a little yeah

Well yeah I think? Except if Fromsoftware/Miyazaki come tell me to my face he’s actually the biggest asshole ever uhhh. But I think it should be ok. I hope

"1:30 pm fu'ff'(ck)! I'm 'f'(t)oo la'f'(t)e!" Cars and people pass you by as you run along the path with a Hot Dog in your mouth, without looking back or paying much attention to the road. *I'll never have a chance at one of these roles if I get there too late!* you thought.

With a bang you run into someone big and you both crash to the ground. "fuuuuck.......!" your eyes fall first and foremost on the mess you have made. "oh my god I'm so sorry!" Your eyes widen as you realise whose jacket you have just soiled. "ah....o....oh my.....holy sh.....I'll clean the jacket I'm really really sorry!"

A light laugh is the only response from the man facing you.

"I don't believe it. I just ruined Pedro Pascal's jacket...." you whisper to yourself and still can't believe who is standing in front of you.

"It's not that bad. Leave it, but you should look where you're going in the future, pretty lady!" You turn bright red at his words and look at your watch in shock. "Damn it! I have to go! I'm really sorry, but it was nice to meet you!" A thoughtful Pedro looks after you and just shakes his head in amusement.

"The day is off to a good start huh?" He smiles and continues on his way.

You stand in front of a large building and stare at the huge windows. "Let's go then...if it's not already too late"

With big quick steps you look around the entrance hall and walk briskly to the reception.

"I had an appointment 10 minutes ago...I'm really sorry I'm late but I had a little accident on the way here..." You literally have a cold sweat running down your face. The lady at reception looks at you and smiles kindly as she holds a phone to her ear.

"Neil, your 1:30 appointment has arrived, shall I send them to you?.............ok" After a short pause she looks at you. "You can go to the back, aisle 2, room 4, left side. Neil is waiting for you there. He says you shouldn't worry. Your audition partner for the text samples hasn't arrived yet either".

A deep sigh comes out of your mouth and you nod, walk towards room 4 and knock. The door opens and Neil looks at you with a relaxed smile.

"Welcome, step in" The two of you are talking about the first scenes and script while you are waiting for your co-worker when the door suddenly opens.

"there you are, then we can start now!" Neil says and your jaw almost drops to the floor when you see who is coming in.

Immediately the blood rushes to your cheeks as the handsome, attractive man looks at you in surprise. "What a coincidence, we meet again so soon" Pedro comes to you and gives you his hand to greet you.

"ah....ehm...hi...." That's all you can say and smiling speechlessly, too uncomfortable with the whole situation, grabbing his hand.

"you two know each other?" Neil looks back and forth between you.

"well....something like that" Pedro smirks and grabs his script. The two of you start working on the text phases and, despite the situation beforehand, you quickly get into your characters. Together you rehearse for over 2 hours and Neil is visibly thrilled by your natural appearance.

You take a break and go to the cafeteria together.

"your jacket....-" "Don't mention it" you were about to start, but Pedro interrupts you, stuffs some fries into his mouth and looks at you.

"you live here?" He asks

"I just moved here and I don't know my way around yet" you dig into your salad. "is that why you ran like that?" he teases you with a cheeky smile. "hehe......yeah. i got lost first. now i know where we have to go." You can't help but keep looking at him. "working with you is pretty entertaining so far" you try to stay relaxed and put some food in your mouth.

"I think you did a pretty good job" Pedro finishes his fries. Without noticing that you are smiling at him almost dreamily, you continue to eat. "thank you...."

You two can easily inspire Neil and start shooting a part of season 2 in The Last of Us together.

It has been 4 weeks since you both got the roles and you are more than just a well-rehearsed team. Today we start filming a flashback for Joel 10 years ago in which he met another woman besides Tess because of the work situation.

The scene wants a kiss, which has to be shot as authentically as possible. For Pedro this is less of a problem as he has already shot different scenes with such a situation but for you? Primere! Great, and then also with him. You get into it and everything goes well until then. You can almost hear your heart beating, why?

You're excited.....about the scene? ...Pedro? The audience with all the cameras? Your gut feeling knows this quite well because it is totally tingling. Then it happens and the first kiss is perfect. For the shoot?....no not for that....Your breathing almost stops and you are far too nervous to continue, you run completely out of breath towards the toilet. A dumbfounded Pedro remains standing. Pedro looks after you silently and just stands there in confusion.

Once in the toilet, you gasp for breath, almost as if you are having a panic attack. You put your hand over your mouth, completely lost in thoughts, as you realise how you feel about Pedro. "not him......" There is a sudden knock at the door. "Y/N, are you okay?"

"y....yes...I'm f..fine" your voice totally shaky trying to put the words together.

"can I come in please?"

"n...NO!....i mean...fuck..." You finally open the door and look halfway at him with your cheeks all red. He comes in, closes the door behind him and looks at you calmly.

"Do you want to stop work for today? When you feeling sick we can take a break"

You just shake your head. "No...that's not it" You grab your left upper arm. Pedro eyes you piercingly, almost as if he hears all your dirty thoughts, and comes much closer to you.

Your heart is about to explode and you can't help but approach him too.

Your gaze full of longing to be closer to him, he silently granting and you slowly close your eyes. His breath is clearly perceptible, you kiss him tenderly on his lips, he continues to respond to the kiss without hesitation and plays along with your sweet lips. You detach yourselves from the kiss without looking at him. "I'm sorry....."

"you are a really sassy girl" he says with a sweet smile and carefully kisses again, more intensely and a little more dominant that you are both completely out of breath. "

We have to go back. The others are already wondering where we are" he winks at you, but you can't concentrate on anything else. Bright red, you return with Pedro and are obviously no longer in the mood for filming, so Pedro makes a deal with Neil to get the rest of the day off.

"Do you want to come to my place?" he asks you casually, without any ulterior motives. You nod shyly and the two of you finally head home to him. When you arrive, you just stand there, which makes him smile. "Don't worry, I won't bite, make yourself comfortable... I'll make us some coffee." He disappears into the kitchen and returns shortly afterwards with two coffees in his hands. Both of you sit on his comfortable couch and sip the coffee.

"we are making good progress with the work"

"yes........" you stare at your coffee. He senses your discomfort and looks at you sweetly. "in the kiss scene.... was that your first?" He scrutinises your reaction. "because you're so damn shy"

"Yeah...sorry...." you look down at your legs and pinch your jeans.

"it really doesn't have to....god damn it you're so cute"

Your head is already all messed up and you bite your lower lip, which is not hidden from him and he looks directly at your sweet lips. His fingers sneak under your chin, forcing you to look at him. Without asking you, he kisses you tenderly and carefully, which makes you relax and accept his sweet kiss.

The two of you can't detach each other, but you only separate to catch your breath and engage in another seductive kiss between your lips that screems for so much more. "you want more....?" he asks you but instead of awnsering you just kiss back, lick over his lips which makes him open his mouth and your tongues both fight for dominance.

You let out a sigh and finally you part, face to face, gasping for air. "You're a damn good kisser" Pedro looks at you, slightly messed up, but he signals for you to snuggle into his arms. Shyly, you lie down in his arms and rest your head in his neck, which is why you can smell his wonderful scent with every breath. "if you need anything just let me know" Actually you need a new panty right now but you just nod and cuddle up to him more. He gently strokes your back without being intrusive. "I can't believe I fell in love with you clumsy" he smiles.

You cling to him tighter. "I... think I love you too..." you say and he kisses you on the forehead, smiles cheekily.

All this just because of a bump 4 weeks ago!

OK, our final check-in at Last Light, I think - with Isobel this time. (Part of me is very nervous about going back to the Shar Temple so I'm talking to all the people first. XD )

Weirdly, we don't have the option to bring up what we know about her being Thorm's daughter; Hector has a dialogue option about it, but she just smiles and claims it's an "unfortunate coincidence" that his daughter had her name, even though Jaheira already confirmed it.

Some other minor dialogue talking about the curse, most of which were things we already knew.

Hector did get one Selune-specific dialogue line which I thought was interesting:

[CLERIC OF SELUNE] "Why has the Moonmaiden waited until now to take an interest in this curse?"

"Maybe she was waiting for one of us to find this place ourselves. Free will, and all that. Though..." She trails off, frowns. "If it were my place to ask why she let Ketheric turn, why she allowed this village to rot at his hands - believe me, I would."

This is a sort of uncomfortable conversation for Hector. He is spending a lot of time watching the various faiths of his friends crumble - Lae'zel's faith in Vlaakith, Gale's in Mystra, even Shadowheart's (more subtly) in Shar. And there is a part of him that is very concerned that sooner or later, something will come to light about Selune that will rock his world to its foundations as well.

And Isobel is a cleric in the order, a much higher rank than he himself. Hearing her say that she too finds herself questioning how Selune allowed all this to happen...it's unsettling.

But...there's no choice but to press on for now, and see what else they find. With this conversation done, I think all we have left to do is push back into the Sharran temple.

Oh that's a hell of a coincidence! Me and a friend who go quite a while back now have discussed this too! About how the azran tech after their destruction must have slowed secreted it's super duper mystery powers into the world over time and potentially created a world where sometimes, things like this just happen but nobody really calls it magic because it's just there. To expand on this, i also layed down the idea that certain areas where theres azran ruins that are basically right on your doorstep are "magic hotspots" so to speak! Sorry for rambling, I saw your post in the professor Layton tag XD

magic hotspots,,, omg i love that so much,, also PLEASE feel free to ramble in my askbox I am 100% ok with it i love hearing people's opinions, i just didnt answer them in a while because I got super shy hkJAFHAB

but yeah I think trying to justify azran tech to be 100% technology based with no sorts of magic is a bit silly considering what happens in Azran Legacy, I love to bend the rules a wee bit from minor unintentional implications as well as to give the Azran a bit more importance!!

also the specification of magic hotspots make me giggle in a positive way because like . imagine how fucked up the wildlife is for the species that live near or perhaps even in the ruins ,,

.. wait a minute, maybe that's what's up with descole's wolves? i keep thinking about how the ear gadgets thing worked on a more science-y level, but if we throw azran altering biology into the mix then anything's possible

anyway im rambling back!! this gave me food for thought, thank you!!

MAG 128 Relisten

Activity on my first listen: putting up a new fence.

BASIRA: "Jon. Don’t turn on the light. Go get Melanie, quickly." Get Melanie? For what? She’s not Buffy the Vampire Slayer anymore.

BREEKON: "That’s right. Just wanted to – to drop off a package." That pause after “Just wanted to”. He's so unsure of what he's doing...

JON: (with compulsion) "Why are you here?" BREEKON: "Dunno." (pause) "‘S not right, on my own. Not right. No point in doing it on my own." Breekon & Hope... Still a better love story than Twilight... (I like how TMA makes us feel for people and monsters who did terrible things. But in the end I guess we're all just human?)

BREEKON: "Make me." [AND ALL AT ONCE THERE’S A STRANGE SOUND, MUSICAL YET HOLLOW, AND IT SEEMS TO BE BUILDING TO –] JON: "Stop." Seriously this "strange sound, musical yet hollow" and then Jon putting a stop to it is actually really badass. How's that for recording enemies into submission!

BREEKON: "What are you – stop it. Stop it!" [WHEN THE ARCHIVIST SPEAKS, IT HAS AN ECHO TO IT, REMINISCENT OF THE HOLLOWNESS FROM EARLIER:] JON: "No." Yes Jon, show 'em you're not everyone’s punching bag anymore!

I btw also always thought Breekon just couldn't stand the gaze of Jon anymore and fled the Archives, perhaps tossing over a table or a chair in his way and slamming some doors (Does this count as door motif? Oh, when we're on the subject of slamming doors! There is a video of Sam Sam the music man breaking down the TMA main theme and he said those smashing sounds at the end of the theme are supposed to be slamming a door! Just because it's such a stereotypical thing for the horror genre - see MAG 85 Upon the Stair "And please don't slam the door". Such a fitting coincidence! But I already said in one of those Relisten posts, coincidences like this happened a lot more often than people probably think, it's a blessing for artists!) Ok, lost the thread a bit there. I think the image of the telekinesis comes from the fact, that we don't really hear any footsteps? (And I think, people wanted to give Jon a bit more badassary probably? He's demonstrating it so well already in this scene, why not go a bit further xD I generally like it, but I think it doesn't really fit into canon, he'd be too op.) Thing about footsteps in TMA is it's a bit inconsistent until S5? This has bothered me in a few instances before, like the end of MAG 21, when Martin storms into Jon's office. We only hear the door and the squelching of the worms. No out of breath sound aaand no footsteps. There was another one when I thought it's really missing footsteps, god I can't remember what it was... What I'm saying is, I wouldn't really get hung up on (the lack of) footsteps here.

"We started in a plague." / "It wasn’t the plague they feared; it wasn’t the death that waited in our wagon. It was us. Two strangers rolling towards them, unstoppable and uncertain, wearing faces they would only half-remember, bringing a fate they would beg their god to forget." Hm, wearing faces they would only half-remember... Strangers at the time of the plague I’d think more of those masks plague doctors wore - being literally unable to see their faces.

"Poor wretches who emerged from Millbank, with tales of Australia and its cruelties on their lips, bundled into the cramped and creaking ship that would drag them away from everything they loved. And towards everything they feared. That was the first time we saw what would become this place: The Eye’s Pedestal." Hold on, wait! Is that another reference that Millbank Prison was a place of power for the Eye? The Robert Small was a convict ship and (Western) Australia was a penal colony of the British Empire..

"We were conductors on a train, prim suits and scowls, a relentless beast of iron and steam that never seemed to get you exactly where you wanted to be unless there was something dreadful waiting for you. We punched tickets, ignored questions, and threw off those who looked like they were having too fine a time of it." Lol, is that a dig at public transports? xD

"We carried and lifted and helped the circus move towards its next destination, the next doomed town." Makes me think that they probably would have made superb roadies!

"Sometimes we joined the show, lifting weights and things that looked like animals. Sometimes we lifted members of the audience. Sometimes we even put them down again." First of all, lol, that last sentence. Second, throwback to MAG 24 - the two strong-men!

"And so we took the casket, a hungry thing of the earth, a crushing, choking tomb that will not let you die because it is too much what it is for death to find you there" “Too much what it is for death to find you there”... Saying the End has no grasp within the coffin. And not just the End because Daisy also lost her connection to the Hunt in the coffin. Eye + Web being the only ones with a chance to make it out.

"It was one like us that found it, a thing of shifting names and deja-vu. A fool, that believed because it found the coffin in chains, it would be an easy thing to control, to bargain with." Confirmation that MAG 2's "John" was a capital-S Stranger.

"She took him from me, made us a me." Still a better love story than Twilight!!!

"And she doesn’t get to die for that. She gets to live, trapped and helpless, and entombed forever." There are fates worse than death-trope.

"I have never known hate before. I have never known loss. But now they are with me always, and I desire nothing but to share them with you." Still a better-

JON: (voice shaky) "Statement.. ends." [HE COLLAPSES.] Since Melanie makes fun of Jon in MAG 189 about him collapsing again I have the headcanon that Melanie came across collapsed Jon, was like "Alright then" and just left again. (Maybe she went to tell Basira.)

BASIRA: (inhale, set) "Right. Keep it safe; I’ll be gone a few days. I have some leads I need to follow up." Oh, that (whatever that was exactly) was what Elias was proposing to Basira at the end of the previous episode, not his actual plans about the coffin. Alright, gotcha, I'm on track again!
