OKAY YES this is absolutely asinine and I know it, but also it made me literally whoop out loud and scare my dog so here you go!

The fucking Toden, baby! Why yes, I AM an adorable tram(p) that roams suburban Arakawa, hurtling back and forth between Rocco's Pizza in Oji and my beloved dinky shitamachi neighborhood at mindbending speeds in excess of 13 km/h! I miss those days! I miss the incessant dinging noise. I miss the elderly passengers and their tiny overstimulated grandchildren and all the advertisements for enka singers and medical clinics. the way i see it, colin has three options for handling the repercussions of kissing michael on the pitch in front of everyone:

gatekeep: by some miracle no one caught the kiss on camera so colin's sexuality is kept between him and any fans who happened to be on the pitch near him. the safest option.

girlboss: keeley gets the pr challenge of a lifetime handling the story of the first active premier league player to come out as gay. rebecca is tall and powerful and intimidating in the press room making it clear that richmond stands behind colin one thousand percent. the most realistic option.

gaslight: straight-up blatantly lying. not because he's ashamed or because he thinks he can actually convince anyone that the kiss didn't happen, but just because he refuses to let it be a big deal. acts like he has no idea what anyone is talking about if asked anything related to his sexuality. he doesn't claim to be straight, mind you, he just pretends to be extremely confused about why they're asking because he never kissed anyone in the middle of a football pitch at the end of an internationally-televised game? when presented with photo and video proof of the kiss he says that was some other richmond player named hughes who wears a number 12 jersey. you don't know him, he goes to another school. the funniest option.

i've been dying for a poll option ever since i saw my followers' answers to that text post from february 2022 asking people whether they pronounce beloved as "be-lov-ed" or "be-loved". many people were emphatic about only using one option, and many others use both but were not always able to articulate when they use 2 syllables vs. 3. so out of the goodness of my heart and my insatiable lust for knowledge i have gone through the notes on that post and written down some likely contenders! you're welcome!!!!

BEFORE YOU ANSWER! think about how you would pronounce beloved in the following syntactic contexts:

noun, talking directly to the beloved: hey there beloved

noun, talking about rather than to the beloved: my beloved lives in a pineapple under the sea

adjective in a noun phrase: my beloved x lives in a pineapple under the sea

verb participle: x is beloved by y

okay poll time! there are no wrong answers!! and apologies in advance if i didn't capture your truth, i only had 10 options and life is a rich tapestry!!

#oh man i could have easily come up with another 5-8 options but they cap you at 10. which is probably a good thing #one person said they say 'my be-lov-ed x' but 'my much be-loved x'. the only difference being the 'much'. couldn't fit that one on here #someone else said they use 3 syllables in a possessive noun phrase (my be-lov-ed x) but 2 if it's not possessive (the be-loved x)#one person said it depends on whether it's past or present & i wasn't exactly sure what that meant. 'x is beloved' vs. 'x was beloved'?#i also think there's likely a distinction for some people between 'x was beloved' and 'x was beloved by y' but couldn't get into that #oh and then there's 'beloved by' vs. 'beloved of'#and since some of these are syntactic distinctions and some are semantic or otherwise i'm sure there's a whole matrix of combinations #like '3-syll noun if it's a person but 2 if it's a thing. 2-syll adjective/verb participle for both people and things'#that was beyond the scope of this poll lol #but mostly why i'm so curious is because people will very emphatically say something that might not mean what they think it means #like for instance i got the impression that at least some of the people saying 'be-lov-ed when i'm talking to them‚ be-loved when i'm #talking about them' actually mean they use be-lov-ed as a noun and be-loved otherwise #and some of the people saying 'always 2 syllables' probably have exceptions that they weren't thinking of at the moment #in particular 'dearly beloved'#and i'm very curious to know if 3-syllable people still use 3 syllables in the construction 'he was beloved by all'#so i think people's answers might change when given a list of more detailed options #fun with pronunciation #prosody #my posts #also i stressed for so long about what to call beloved in the 'x is beloved by y' construction #but settled on verb participle because i think it's fairly descriptive and accurate #so hopefully that's not too confusing? like it is a verb participle but for a verb that doesn't exist anymore (other than the participle)?#and even in 'my beloved x' beloved is a verb participle being used as an adjective if you're thinking more etymologically #but a lot of people were distinguishing 'be-loved as a verb' from other forms and i assume what they meant by that was 'x is beloved'

facts about hinnry (right)!

born into an incredibly isolated cult that's existed on a commune completely detached from the world since the 1890s. no one knows they exist, and it would be incredibly difficult to even find the commune.

that's why his name is spelled that way. they've been isolated for so long that their spelling and dialect have almost developed into their own language. like hinnry morphed from henry, jime morphed from james, merthy morphed from martha, etc.

everyone on the commune has the last name skrinniwk. none of the historians who studied the remains of the commune could determine what this used to mean.

you can spell it henry or hinnry. ilya (left) spells it henry. whatever

he has like 17 siblings (his father has multiple wives)

his father is the leader of the cult. they believe that their leader has been the same person since the 1890s, and he transfers his soul to one of his children when his physical body dies

on the commune there are bunkhouses for sleeping, a chapel for worship and school ('school') for the kids, a mess hall/kitchen kinda thing where they all eat, and then all their farming and livestock stuff

hinnry's job is slaughtering the animals

he's 18, almost 19, and has no wives or children yet. the men basically conceive children until they can't anymore (his father is an old man), but it's still strange that he hasn't done it yet at his age.

none of them besides his father and his father's brother have ever left the commune (he has a secret car. the rest of them don't even know what a car is, they think he has divine abilities and that's where they get things from)

a plague has been killing them like crazy. they've been locking bodies in the barn and burning them at night. this is not a good sign for their religion.

they believe all the death means it's time to leave their physical bodies. a mass suicide is coming. this isn't why hinnry runs away though. he would have had no hesitations about it.

He might hold back when he's hiding illness, but honestly he probably doesn't do that much, as we see him going back and forth on screen hiding and being openly fucked up on screen. He's got issues and I think it's very situational how he'd handle sneeze or illness.

Suddenly everyone's phones all become so interesting.

Nat absolutely stifles. I'll talk about other stiflers, but there are two Main Stiflers on the list, and it's Natasha and Loki (I'll cover him later). These two are the ones who have that 'get it on lockdown dammit!' mindset where they can't bee seen as weak (very similar trauma and backgrounds of people who make them feel weak unless certain criteria are met). Viewing illness or sneezing in general weakness is TRACK for Nat.

Also she basically RUNS the Avenger household and while Tony thinks he could do it fine, Nat knows (and Bruce knows it to lol) that things would hit shit very quickly if Nat left it in his hands, so she just Needs to take a bunch of Dayquil and muscle through ok? It'll be fiiiiine.

(Bonus, she does have a backup plan just in case and it involves putting Pepper briefly in charge of Big Brain stuff --with everyone except Tony making superhero decisions 🤣)

Side Note: Y'all, I give Tony a lot of shit, but just know he's a top tier character for me. I know he's smart and capable. His character development is fucking PEAK. I absolutely would die for him. I just love picking on early Tony.

Cap:

Used to be very sickly; asthma, allergies, the works. He's constantly expecting things to set him off. Probably still has an inhaler (just in case!) But super serum means not much makes with the sniffles. The Avenger fam, however, doesn't know anything other than "Cap is super resilient haha!"

So, when he actually does sneeze, they all freak out OMG OMG IT'S A SUPERBUG™ !! All except Bucky, who i just...reading the paper all chill.

"Relax, yall. Steve's just..." and then he shares a look with Cap and a silent convo... 'are you alright?'

Bruce does bloodwork anyway.

Cap Part 2:

I also like this hc where Cap has been under the ice for so long Steve is photic?? Even though it's not canon I Desire it. Maybe to keep it 'consistent' (i mean, do I really NEED a reason but hufhufhu~) it could be early days only.

Lots of teary eyed squinting and hitching in bright lights, especially while he's being evaluated during the early days of ice recovery. Doctors were annoyed, having to pause their work for random sneezing.

As for snz sound, I image there's a P in there somewhere. Y'all know I like my Z's, but for Cap I think more of a "psh!" or something in that vein.

Thor:

Here's where I'm open to interpretation with Thor. I lean more torward him being a WHINLY LIL SHIT when he's sick, because (I read a few of the Loki/Thor Marvel canon novels because I'm a huge gd nerd) and as younguns it just REFLECTS the whole 'golden child' treatment and 'Thor ate that spaghetti so welll! Good job Thor!!' So I want to say...(and we do see this in the movies, especially early on) he expects special treatment. So, getting sick? *nods sagely*

Our Dapper Asshole stifles because sneezing is weak and how !dare! a sneeze think about making him look weak--and if he has to he will discard it as quickly as possible.

So, as with Nat above, there's the trauma of being seen as weak from younger years in Asgard. I really wish we'd had a Loki prequel or something in the Marvel movies (there's still time Marvel!! *cough!!*) But in the official Loki novels, you can see it.

I would go into detail about this but when I tried to explain it I LITERALLY TYPED FIVE PARAGRAPHS MORE OF SHIT yall 🫣If you ever think I'm making up backstory for Thor or Loki, nahhh I farm my info organically, grass fed. I had a paintball partner once whose nose got itchy when he got stressed. I hc that for Maria. She's in a situation where she needs her gun out, and it never fails--her nose flares up.

Scrunching it, she dips into a grated, sometimes growled, half-stifle. Something quick. Eyes closed for the least amount of time possible. Efficiency is important.

Clint:

I know him the least unfortunately. He's not a fave (don't judge me 😭) I'm still wrecked that he was chosen over Nat, my darling momma who WAS RUNNING EVERYTHING AND NO WONDER EVERYTHING IS ABSOLUTE CHAOS RIGHT NOW WHAT DID I JUST SAY EARLIER (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

*straightens bowtie* Aaaanyway. I think Clint would get sick and hole up. Avoid people like a recluse. He'd have a messy sneeze and a tissue pile and just STOP cleaning up after himself.

"I'll get to that later. Fuck it." And when he feels better, finally, there are just takeout boxes, microwave dinners, and tissues piled up in a raccoon trash nest around the couch and he's like "...I deserve this."

Does Johnny have a favorite movie he's made?

Well, aside from Ninja Mime, and his tendency for extravagance and to brag about every movie he was in, Johnny personally, and secretly, prefers the movies that required authentic martial art styles and well choreographed fighting sequences, some of those are : Dragon Fist 1 &. 2, Son of Dragon Fist, Exiting the Dragon of Death, 7 Poisons, Iron claw, 24 Karate Gold. After all, he was and still is a Martial artist before he is an actor, and admittedly, his first movies weren't a hit because of his acting, he gained fame through showcasing his skills as a fighter. Despite his poor performance in delivering lines when he began acting, he was still highly requested in upcoming action movies because of what he could offer and the fact that he doesn't rely on stunt doubles to do the work, it was all him and he makes a point of maintaining that work ethic to this day. When he had gotten to love the profession, [ provided that it was a combination of the two things he loved most, cinema magic and action ], he took on acting lessons and starred in what some became award winning movies, but the one that holds a special place for him is sudden violence, it was when he had began to truly enjoy acting, the crew and cast were the amazing to work with, he enjoyed the process through and though. The movie got him the breakthrough he needed in his career &. his very first award, he was still young and an entire horizon of possibilities had just opened for him, he feels like he owes his success to that movie in particular.

Genuinely /never/ understood why anyone complained about Preston being annoying or giving too many quests, at all. Like it never would have even occurred to me on my own anyone might be annoyed by the Minutemen. I’ve played genuinely horrifying numbers of hours of that game. I was General and I took every quest they sent me, and it’s not bad. It’s really not that much. If you take care ya damn settlements and build them defenses and stuff, they don’t get attacked much. It was a non-frequently occurring radiant quest and like yeah? I literally agreed if my own volition to take on the role of answering citizen requests for help? “You can’t talk to Preston without-“ what are you talking about? I’ve traveled with him for irl days straight and never /once/ gotten a radiant quest that way. Yeah, before I had found settlements the first time, sometimes he’d mention a new one. Then it was right back to normal convo. And even that was literal years ago? Now they just come up on Radio Freedom, or Pip-Boy requests. Preston’s easily one of the most wonderful and fun to travel with??? He’s just a very good, pretty, nice young man with a cowboy hat? He’s kind and fun and thoughtful? What? What’s wrong with him, his coat’s too long???
