"so you are done travelling for the year now?" ingrid questioned from where you stood next to her washing up the dishes from lunch. "hopefully! that conference should have been the last." you sighed, forever popping in and out of the country for work.
"tana will be happy, she becomes miserable when you travel." ingrid rolled her eyes making you smile, knowing exactly how grumpy your girlfriend became when you weren't around.
"i know, i get about a hundred texts an hour demanding i come back home because she misses me." you grinned affectionately, though you knew deep down she'd be far more upset with you if you listened to her and returned, knowing how important your work really was to you.
"tana!" you blushed as suddenly her hand smacked your ass as she walked past, returning from the bathroom. "stop talking about me amor." your girlfriend warned with a smile, joining mapi back in the living room.
"hey! like you can talk." you shoved the norweigen beside you who made a whipping noise with her mouth and flicked her hand. "i am not the one who is whipped, maría is." ingrid grinned, drying her hands as you placed the final plate in the dry rack.
"oh really?" you grabbed the taller girls hand, tapping the small m ring on her finger with a raised eyebrow. "really?" ingrid retaliated by tapping the small golden a necklace around your neck.
"well, guess we're both-" you mocked her whipping noise and gesture from before as the taller girl laughed and shoved you, the two of you returning to the living room where your girlfriends were.
"hola princesa." you chuckled as you sat down and bagheera settled immediately into your lap, finger stroking down her spine. "they say cats are good judge of character." mapi pointed out as she leaned into ingrid.
"clearly bagheera is not." she added on at your expense making your girlfriend laugh as you frowned at the noise. "i think we should get a cat amor." aitana hinted with a smile as you rolled your eyes assuming she was joking.
"so when is your next away game?" you changed topics, bagheera walking from your lap into aitana's who cooed at her affectionately. "two more weeks, next champions league match." ingrid answered you, both your girlfriends too caught up playing with bagheera as you sent her a grateful smile.
"oh! look, bagheeras sister had kittens last week." mapi grabbed her phone off the coffee table and clicked into the photo, your girlfriend melting as she stared at the screen. "oh they are so cute." aitana sighed with a pout.
"bebita..." the brunette handed mapi her phone back and slid closer to you with a smile you knew all too well. "oh no! don't even try it tana." you chuckled, pushing away her hands which tried to tug you even closer to her.
"we should get a cat, a kitten." aitana smiled, eyes burning a hole into the side of your head as you sighed, head thumping back into the soft cushion of the lounge. "no amor, we should not." you shook your head firmly.
"why! you love bagheera." your girlfriend pointed out as the cat in question rubbed herself against your leg which didn't help your case. "sí amor but bagheera is not my cat so part of the reason i love seeing her is that i get to hand her back." you grinned as mapi sent you a glare and snatched back her daughter, holding her close to her chest.
"but we looked after her when they went to norway and it was fine?” aitana continued, arm draping across the back of your shoulders. "sí but again amor we handed her back." you remained firm on your point, shaking your head when she asked again.
"is she interested in selling the kittens?" your girlfriend ignored you, finger tracing circles on the back of your neck in an attempt to distract you as you pushed her arm off. "amor, we can't get a cat." you spoke more firmly.
"i could call and ask her?" mapi offered, the two of them conversing as if you weren't even in the room as you scoffed and looked to ingrid for help who shook her head, staying out of it.
"tana, mi amor we can't get a cat. you're always at training or games, i work all the time, we would never be home to look after a cat. that would not be fair!" you tried to reason with her as finally she looked at you, your resolve softening just slightly seeing the pleading look in her eyes.
"we are out a lot and bagheera is fine. cats like being alone sometimes!" mapi chimed in as you sent her a murderous glare. "not helping león!" you hissed as she shrugged, stroking bagheera.
"i am not trying to help amiga, at least not help you." mapi grinned sending your girlfriend a wink. "bebita por favor. if not a kitten then a cat, a rescue cat maybe! you know you like helping people, why not help a poor innocent cat mi amor?" aitana pouted as you sighed deeply, sensing this was not something you'd not get out of easily.
"we can discuss it at home cariño." your girlfriend smiled suggestively as she squeezed your thigh, and seeing the look in her eyes you knew this wouldn't be a conversation you would win.
"can you send me the number for the lady with the kittens please maps?" you sighed, your girlfriend kissing your cheek repeatedly as ingrid chuckled and once again made the whipping gesture with her hand.
"well it sounds like bagheera is becoming a tía!"

Difficult
Ingrid Engen x Mapi Leon x Child!Reader
Summary: You're acting difficult with your Mamí after the World Cup
Tumblr media
Mamí is looking at you.
You look back at her.
Her eye twitches.
You don't move.
"Shoes on," She says firmly.
You throw your shoes clear across the room.
She looks at you.
You look back.
"y/n," She says," Go and pick up your shoes. We're going now."
"Nej!"
"We don't have time for this! Go and get your shoes right now or so help me-"
"Why?"
If there's one thing Mapi hates more than you saying no, it's you asking why.
Stepping into the role of Mamí was something she had expected when she started dating Ingrid. You were little more than a baby when you arrived in Barcelona with your Mumma and you couldn't really remember much of your life without Mapi.
For the most part, you were a little angel and you flipped between your languages with ease but sometimes you get into moods when you don't want to speak Spanish or Catalan and you will pointedly refuse to interact when somebody speaks to you in them.
"y/n," Mapi says again, ready to do something that she hasn't quite thought of yet but Ingrid interrupts, walking over with your shoes in her hands.
She speaks to you in Norwegian, talking quicker than Mapi can translate but you sag in defeat and allow your Mumma to put your shoes on your feet. You wander over to Bagheera, giving her lots of kisses before Mumma helps you put on your special training backpack and you wait by the door.
Mapi frowns as she watches you. "Why won't she listen to me?"
"She's been with me all through the world cup. She's probably just adjusting back into the normal routine. She's been with my national team for a while. Just give her a bit of time to get used to all the Spanish."
Mapi gives you nothing but time. You still remain moody throughout the week until you're absolutely grating on her last nerve.
The day starts like normal. You're cheerful and happy when Ingrid gets you up that morning and eat your toast and eggs with little fuss.
But when Mapi tries to brush your hair, you shriek and whine every time the brush goes through. You snap your teeth at her when she tries to wipe your face - which is suitably horrifying because she and Ingrid were so sure that you had finally outgrown your biting phase.
You make a growling sound at her as well which she isn't sure where you've learnt that from.
Her eyes narrow. "No," She says, her finger coming out to rebuke you," We don't bite."
"I didn't bite," You reply oh so smartly and Mapi doesn't really have a response to that and you take the chance to hurry to Ingrid's side, conning her into picking you up.
Ingrid drives to practice which leaves Mapi to suffer through you repeatedly kicking her chair and denying it.
"y/n," Ingrid finally says," Enough now. Mamí doesn't need her seat kicked."
You stop but glare at the back of her seat.
You snap at her again when she tries to get you out of your car seat.
"y/n!"
Mapi almost swears at you. She doesn't but she's getting seriously concerned that your biting phase is back with a vengeance.
"Nej!" You spit back," Want Mumma! Not want you!"
Mapi's heart breaks in an instant. You've said a lot of things to her before, in the heart of the moment, but never something like this.
"Mumma! Mumma!"
Ingrid sighs deeply as she gets you out of your car seat.
Usually, you walk in between your parents but today (like so many days recently) you refuse to. You stick to Mumma's side and throw dirty looks at your Mamí whenever she tries to catch your eye.
By the time you all get to training, you've brightened significantly but remain frosty to Mapi, clinging to Frido's side before scampering off to see Caro.
●~●~●~●~
Your attitude towards Mapi takes a turn for the worse when she's not with Ingrid.
Currently, you're sitting on your blanket on the pitch, watching everyone train. You've got your usual set up of food and drink and stuffed teddy bear so you're not used to being bothered.
When Mapi does so, you get angry very quickly.
At first, you don't talk to her. At her verbal prodding, you glare and, when she tries to touch you, you strike.
Your baby teeth sink into the flesh of her hand, right between her thumb and first finger.
Mamí swears when you release her, turning away to try to wave the pain out of her hand. "y/n!" She snaps and you make a screeching noise in response.
By this point, the other girls have stopped to watch the confrontation and your Mumma comes running over to you.
"y/n!" She says firmly," We don't bite!"
"I bite!" You yell back. You kick your legs into the ground and snap your jaw again when Mamí reaches out to you a second time.
She recognises it for the bluff that it is though and she picks you up. You try to ragdoll and go limp to get out of her grip but it doesn't work. She walks you further away from the other girls and forces you to sit cross-legged, looking away from the pitch.
"You're going into a timeout," Mumma says, having followed you," Until you can calm down."
"Nej!" You spit back, trying to escape but Mamí puts you back every time.
You hiss and spit at her. "Hate you, Mamí!" You scream in her face," Hate you, Mamí!"
She looks positively heartbroken at your words and Mumma whispers something in her ear. Mamí looks back at you for a moment before she nods sadly and wanders back inside.
Mumma fixes you a hard look. "We don't spit or bite or scream, y/n. And we don't lie and tell Mamí that we hate her either," She says and you ignore her.
Ingrid crouches next to you, a hand on your shoulder that you relax into. "What's going on with you, elskling? What's happened? Come on, tell Mumma?"
"Mamí," You say through gritted teeth.
"Mamí?" Ingrid asks," What happened with Mamí?"
"Was bad!"
"Mamí was bad? How was Mamí bad? Does Mamí know?"
"Mamí knows," You insist," Mamí was mean and made me feel icky so I'm doing the same!"
"Elskling," Ingrid says," Just because Mamí made you feel icky, doesn't mean you should make her feel icky back."
You grunt and turn to look at the boards in front of you. "Don't want to talk anymore, Mumma. Bye-bye."
●~●~●~●~
Mapi's falling into a spiral by the end of the day. She feels like an absolute failure, unsure how to salvage whatever she has left of her relationship with you.
As she's debating just breaking down into tears in the hallway, she notices that the meeting room door is opened a crack.
She spies you sitting on the floor with your blocks. Alexia is sitting with you, cross-legged.
She passes you whatever block you want and pretends to be a big scary monster so you can have something to knock down your towers.
You look content and happy with Alexia and it makes Mapi want to cry all over again, unsure of what could have sparked you to reject her since your return home.
She almost turns away and leaves, phone out to text Ingrid to come and collect you when she hears Alexia speak.
"You got pretty mean to your Mamí today," Alexia says as she plays with your blocks.
You shrug. "Deserved it."
"Oh?" Alexia glances at Mapi, who she's now realised is peaking through the crack in the door. "How come?"
"Didn't come," You reply, turning a block over in your hand.
"She didn't come?"
"When Mumma was at the world cup and we had days off. Mamí didn't come to see us." You sigh a big sigh that's too big for a little girl like you. "Wanted to see her. Missed her but she didn't come."
"Oh," Alexia says," Did you tell her that you missed her and you wanted her to come see you and your Mumma?"
You give your Tia a weird look. "Why? Mamí has magic powers, she tells me so. Mamí says she always knows what I'm thinking because I'm her bebita." You nod firmly. "So Mamí knew that I missed her and wanted her and she still didn't come. Mamí doesn't love me. Mumma says that people who don't love you sometimes make you feel bad on purpose and Mamí did that because she knew I wanted her and she didn't come."
"Oh."
Alexia shoots Mapi a look, who quickly looks away. She had told you that she could read your mind before but that had been a while ago and to scare you into behaving when you went out to the fancy restaurant that she took you and Ingrid to so she could finally talk about you all getting a house together.
Alexia's eyes tell her that it's time to sort this out so Mapi pushes the door open.
"I'm sorry, bebita," She says as she steps inside.
You jolt in shock at her being there but you don't start screaming so she takes this as an invitation to continue. She doesn't want to completely shatter your idea of her having magical powers so she twists the truth only a little.
"Mamí's very sorry she didn't visit you and Mumma," She says first, crouching down so she can look at you instead of down on you," My...My mind-reading powers turned off while you were gone and I didn't turn them back on until you were back, bebita. I'm sorry I didn't realise that you wanted to see me in person."
You look at her with a frown before you nod. "Sorry for biting you, Mamí," You say," And for being mean and for screaming and not speaking my Spanish."
"I accept your apology, bebita," Mapi says," Thank you for apologising. Can I have a hug now? I've missed my y/n hugs?"
You surge up from the floor to hug Mamí tightly. She rocks you back and forth for a moment before pulling away and placing her hands on your cheeks. "And I love you very much and I'll always love you, okay? No matter what."
"I love you too, Mamí. I'm sorry I said that I didn't."
"It's okay, it's okay."
She pulls you in for another hug and keeps you there as she and Tia Alexia talk for a little while before you're carted off to the car.
Mumma is leaning against it, swinging her keys around her finger. She looks up in surprise when she sees you completely relaxed in Mamí's arms.
"How are my girls this afternoon?" Mumma says.
"Me and Mamí are going to play with Bagheera!" You reply brightly," And Mamí says she'll read me my bedtime story!"
You continue to blather on as you're strapped into your car seat.
"All made up then? All happy?" Ingrid teases and Mapi rolls her eyes.
"As long as her biting thing remains a phase," Mapi replies," Then we're golden."

The Phantom of Asgard (Thor: The Dark World!Loki x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Rumors say that a phantom haunts the darkest hall in the royal palace of Asgard, but is he truly as dangerous as the people of Asgard claim he is? You and your friends decide to investigate one night for yourselves.
Warnings: Mentions of character death
"We shouldn't be here."
"Then keep your voice down!"
You silently tiptoed, following your friend Revna, a damsel with long black hair whose fingers were wrapped around the end of a burning candle. Ingrid, whose skin almost glowed as much as her honey blonde curls did in sunlight, trembled with every step.
You met Revna and Ingrid through serving together as ladies-in-waiting to the late Queen Frigga. You were all of Asgardian noble blood, sent to the palace in hopes of rubbing shoulders with some of the most elite of the Aesir. But after her untimely passing and the war with the Dark Elves came to an end, the All-Father King Odin made the simple decision to keep you in service of the royal family. Only instead of having you serve Prince Thor or the king himself, Odin decreed that the three of you were to be educated in political science and history like the noble boys of Asgard. With a twinkle in his eye, the All-Father proposed that if you three were properly educated, then you could join the council as a division of ladies to advise the future king of Asgard.
And as a result, your new schedules left you with a newly found period of free time every night, since you wouldn't be on watch for anyone trying to harm a member of the royal family. "We're getting closer,…" Revna muttered before Ingrid reminded her to keep the candle at the level of her eye.
"I think there's a library somewhere here…" You glanced over your shoulder to find a tapestry of the late queen hanging, her likeness captured with vivid shades of turquoise and gold. "I don't understand, why shouldn't we be here?"
"This is where they say the Phantom of Asgard resides." Ingrid explained in a hushed whisper as the three of you made your way past gray stone figures depicting warriors from lore. Placed along either side of the hall, it was as if they were standing vigil while in their immortalized, lifeless state. "He resides past the throne room, in the darkest of chambers."
"That explains why no one's lit any torches or lamps." Revna grumbles before Ingrid says for the second time to keep the candle at eye-level. "My arm is getting tired!"
Ingrid continued to narrate, "I've heard rumors that the phantom is the ghost of a soldier who gave his life defending Asgard. But others say he's a monster in the palace, he'll hurt us."
"Come now," you chastised Ingrid, walking past another tapestry hanging on the walls of the palace. "There can't be a Phantom. It's probably just some trick made up by the Prince of Lies."
"Also known as the God of Mischief?" Revna interjected. "He's dead."
"I don't believe it."
Revna quickly turned around. "What?"
Ingrid shushed you and repeated, "Candle! Level of your eye."
This time, Revna rolled her eyes and simply switched hands. "If he weren't dead, then why is the All-father commissioning for a statue of the trickster god to be built outside the palace?"
"How would I know?" You carefully stepped over a small abandoned dagger laying on the floor. "All I know is that the first time it was announced that Prince Loki was no more, he was found on Midgard attempting to lay siege."
As if on cue, a powerful guest of wind blew past the three of you, sending a chill down your spine. The flame of Revna's candle flickered. "See!" Ingrid pointed behind you. "The Phantom heard us!"
"Really?" Revna sighed loudly. "Ingrid come on…"
"I'm telling you," you huffed. "There. Is. No. Phantom!"
No sooner had you said those words, a more powerful gust of wind blew past you and extinguished the candle, sending the three of you into near-darkness, save for the faint moonlight from the glass window at the end of the hall.
"Oh my god!" Ingrid whimpered. She clutched your arm with a vice-like grip. "See what you've done?!"
Revna assured her, swallowing. "It's okay…it's okay. Nothing's going to happen." She remained with her feet planted to the floor.
A shatter. You were almost certain that there was no crack in the window…until now. A jagged crack as if someone had thrown a pebble at it.
Then, one of the stone figures standing in the hall - a warrior with a horned helmet holding a weapon at his hip, fell face-first, just barely missing Revna. As soon as the statue landed against the floor, its head split into pieces before your very eyes, horns and all.
"That's…not okay." Revna gulped, taking a step back with baited breath. Her foot caught in the hem of her gown, causing her to lose balance. You caught her just in time, letting go of Ingrid while Revna held the candlestick for dear life.
You steadied her. "We have to get out of here…Go back the way we came."
Ingrid's eyes filled with tears, and she choked on a sob. "Please, please tell me now you believe there's a Phan-" She was drowned by the sound of her own hysterical screams. A second crack….and then a third appeared in the window.  "I don't want to die…Please, no!"
Now was Revna's turn to shush her. "If anyone finds us, we could either be dead, or worse, banished. Now let's go."
The three of you murmured in agreement, reluctantly promising to staunchly deny if anyone asked if you were roaming the palace at night. You hitched your skirts and scurried down the hall as quickly as possible, even though you could barely see anything in your way. Guided only by the sound of each others' footsteps and heavy panting, you only had a single thought in mind: go back the way you came here, and find your shared bedroom as possible. Before you could be caught by any guards or servants with a propensity to gossip. Your heartbeat quickened as you continued to run for your life. Suddenly, in the midst of your attempted escape, you tripped over something - perhaps it was the fabric of the carpet or perhaps your own clumsiness worsened by fear - and landed on your knees. "Revna! Ingrid!" In the midst of you shouting for your friends, a gloved hand covered your mouth.
A strange whisper tickled your ear. "No need to be afraid…There is no Phantom," the mysterious voice echoed your words from earlier with a touch of theatrical sarcasm. "Just a trick made up by the Prince of Lies."
The gloved hand remained over your mouth. "If you scream," the mysterious voice warned you while another hand rested on your waist. "I promise to show you no mercy. Understood?"
You nodded, trembling while you rose to your feet.
"Good girl."
With a wave of the gloved hand, golden candelabras spontaneously appeared along the hall, burning brightly. And emerging out of thin air was a large, rectangular mirror with a bronze-like intricate border that shined with such a luster that the untrained eye could mistake it for gold. You treaded lightly towards your own reflection.
Once again, the mysterious voice filled your ear. "Now you see me…"
Behind you stood a tall man with ebony curls reaching his shoulders. He wore a tailored black waistcoat with long sleeves, and silk black gloves. An emerald green mask decorated with gold glitter obscured the left half of his face, yet…why did he seem so familiar?
Your fingers inched towards the side of his face, beneath his cheekbone. The masked one sighed, leaning in closer so that his nose nestled against your hair while he delighted in your delicate touch. You trembled as your fingertips brushed against the smooth, unblemished skin. His hand encircled your waist once again, and you decided to be bold. Reaching for the edge of the mask, you carefully began to lift it…
"No." He said it with such a dark desperation in his voice, and his other hand caught your wrist.
"I want to know who you are."
"You already do."
Lowering your hand, you silently contemplated for a moment, allowing the masked one to simply cradle you in his arms from behind. "You're the God of Mischief," you uttered to his reflection. "You're Prince Loki."
A smile appeared on the face of the masked god, the smile of a mastermind at the end of a successful plan. Joyful yet reserved, like he already knew the outcome and had envisioned it in his mind several times before executing his plans.
"But you're…dead," you murmured, exercising extreme caution with the last word. "How could you be here? In these halls? I don't understand."
"And yet from the beginning, you knew it was me behind this mask…How, sweet one?"
Your eyes followed Loki's fingers as they glided along your arms before resting on your shoulders. "I cannot say, my Prince….I just knew."
A quiet laugh escaped him. "Or is it because you knew only one could cause such havoc in these halls"?" A wider smile on his face, the god of mischief pressed his lips against the top of your head.
"How did you survive?" A flush of heat spread across your cheeks.
"Because it's what I always do."
You blinked, unable to look away from the mirror for even a second, as if someone had cast a spell of hypnosis upon you. "And what will you do now?"
"Nothing yet." He simply said. "You are the only one who knows."
"Even the All-Father?"
Loki nuzzled against the base of your neck, leaving you weak in the knees. "I do not wish to speak of him tonight." He reached for your hand and brought it to his lips. "I promise to you, all will be revealed in time." The god of mischief then combed his fingers through sections of your hair, taking his time with every touch as if he wanted to memorize exactly how you felt. "Rest now, my sweet, for I will call upon you again. From this night, you belong to me, and I to you."
And with a simple wave of his hand, your surroundings disappeared to darkness. "My prince?" You called, looking around only to be met with silence.
Then, a single candle appeared seemingly out of thin air, with a small, flickering flame. You found yourself alone, inside that same hall, instantly recognizing the tapestry of the late queen that decorated the wall. Only this time, the window at the end of the hall bore no cracks, and the fallen statue stood upright in its original place, perfectly standing vigil.
And on the floor, next to your feet, lay a single white lily with a dark green ribbon tied around its stem. A lasting promise from the Phantom of Asgard.

Roommates (Leila Ouahabi x Reader)
Anon request: jealous Leila? Or shy Leila? Leila I have a crush on the new player and now we're roommates on an away game? Also the new player speaks very little Spanish
Tumblr media
Shifting the strap of your bag, you patiently waited for your name to be called. This was your first away game since joining Barca and therefore, your first time rooming with a teammate. You weren't necessarily concerned about it. All the girls had been very nice to you since you started. It was more so that you didn’t want to get roomed with Leila and make her nervous.
You couldn't be sure why, but Leila acted differently around you than she did with the other girls. With the others, she was loud and funny and confident. Around you, she was a lot quieter and made less jokes (although still funny) and she lost some of that confidence.
It shouldn't have surprised you at all when your name was called out right after Leila's. Laughing to yourself, you took the keycards that were handed to you and followed Leila to the elevator. Jenni, Alexia, Mapi, and Ingrid were also waiting for the elevator.
"¿Sobrevivirás esta noche?" Jenni asked Leila. (Will you survive the night?) Mapi laughed. Alexia at least tried to hide her giggle. Ingrid looked just as lost as you felt. You had no idea what "sobreviviras" meant but, when Leila shoved Jenni in response, you made a mental note to look it up later.
The six of you were all assigned rooms at one end of the hall. It's like the staff wanted to keep all the loudest players on one end of the hall so the rest of the team might be able to sleep.
You opened your room door, telling Alexia you would see them all downstairs soon. Leila walked in ahead of you and you closed the door. You had two hours to relax before dinner and you were looking forward to laying down.
"You sleep this bed?" Leila mumbled out in English, pointing to the bed closest to the door. Giving her a small smile, you nodded and dropped your bag on it. She tried really hard to speak in English with you whenever possible, which you appreciated. Especially knowing that she was uncomfortable with her English. You'd started learning Spanish about four months ago when your deal with Barcelona went through. Your skills were pretty basic still, though.
You both settled down into the room, unpacking a few things, circling around each other as you moved through the space. Finally, you laid down, stretching out your legs and arms, feeling relief move throughout your entire body.
When someone knocked on the door not five minutes later, you groaned. Leila was in the bathroom just finishing a shower. There was no one besides you to open the door. Dragging yourself up, you walked to the door and opened it.
You were immediately engulfed in a huge hug and found your face buried in a mess of blonde hair.
"Y/N!!" she screamed in your ear. You should've known your old college roommate would find you as soon as you landed in her town.
"Erin. How'd you find me so fast?"
"I track your phone," she answered, leaning back. "Obviously."
"Still?" You'd turned tracking on during college because Erin was concerned about you walking home after parties. But you'd both been out of college for three years now. Erin had signed for Chelsea after college and was currently on loan to Real Sociedad.
"Of course," she answered, walking into the room. Scanning the beds, she determined which one was yours and sat down on the edge.
"I'm turning that off now. And how do you know that's my bed? What if it was my roommates?"
"Oh please. Someone's already laid in this bed. That was clearly you. You always lay down immediately after unpacking a couple things." She looked around. Lowering her voice, she said, "So which of the girls did you get roomed with? They're all unnaturally hot."
"Shut up," you responded when the bathroom door opened. Leila walked out, wrapped in a small white towel, her hair still dripping. "Uh." That was all your brain could think of at that moment.
"Hola," Leila said, taking in Erin's presence in the room. "Me llamo Leila."
"Erin." She smiled at Leila rather than offering a hand. Taking a pillow, she hit you in the side to get your attention. "Shall we get coffee? Let your roommate get dressed."
"Yes coffee. Let's go. Leila, quieres un café?" She smiled at you, nodding her head.
"You know what she wants?"
"I know her order. I have to be back for team dinner soon."
"No problem. There's a place just down the street from here." She took you to a small coffee shop where you both ordered your coffees. You'd get Leila's on the way back. "So," she started when you were settled at a small table in the corner, "what's going on with you and your hot roommate?"
"Leila?" You scrunched up your forehead. "Nothing. She doesn't talk to me much."
"Too bad. She's cute." You assumed you made a face at her because she asked, "What?"
"Nothing. I just, uh, hadn't noticed."
"You didn't notice?" Erin asked in disbelief. "Babe, you stopped breathing when she walked out of the bathroom."
You shook your head. "Just a teammate."
"Sure." Thankfully she dropped it after that. You were amused by Leila and confused by her and entertained by her antics. But she was just your teammate. You two barely spoke the same language. And she barely talked to you, regardless. Which, now that you thought about it was a bit strange. She spoke to the other girls who didn't know much Spanish and didn't get quiet around them.
You shook your thoughts out of your head and focused back on Erin. Your time together was short and you wanted to make the most of it.
It shouldn't have surprised you that you ended up being late. You and Erin had always been able to talk for hours. You made sure to get Leila's coffee before leaving the coffee shop but then sprinted back to the hotel. Erin went back with you, not wanting to say bye just yet.
In the lobby, you nearly ran right into Alexia and Erin nearly ran into Mariona.
"Oh, sorry," Erin said as Mariona said "Perdón." You watched them grin at each other nervously. Erin's cheeks were completely flushed, which had you rolling your eyes. You nudged her and she responded, "Huh?"
"I have to go give this to Leila," you said, lifting the coffee to remind her.
"She's here," Alexia said. She pointed behind you where Leila was joking with Jenni. Smiling at Alexia, you left Erin there to smile stupidly at Mariona and go to Leila.
"Tu café, Leila." You smiled at her and handed the coffee to her.
She gave you a large smile back. "Gracias." Taking a sip of the coffee, she closed her eyes and smiled into it. "Muchas gracias."
"¿La tienes trayendo café, ahora?" Jenni asked, laughing. (You have her bringing you coffee now?)
"Cállate, Jenni," she said, glaring at her. Jenni continued to poke fun at Leila but Leila was growing increasingly red while you stood by watching.
"Y/N?" Erin said. She came up next to you. "I'm going to take off so you all can get to dinner."
"Oh yeah okay." Pulling her into a hug, you squeezed her tight. "Thanks for coming to visit me. I've really missed you."  Because you knew it embarrassed her, when she pulled back from you, you grabbed her face and gave her a loud kiss on the forehead. You didn't see Leila's eyes narrow but Jenni and Erin did.
"I've missed you, too. I'll see you at the game tomorrow. Maybe we'll have time to hang out again afterwards. Either way, text me Mariona's number." As you tried to sputter a response, she giggled, and walked away, waving over her shoulder. Erin giggled. Erin didn't giggle over anyone. Of course she was giggling over one of your teammates. Dammit.
You looked back at Leila, who was still scowling, and Jenni, who was trying to contain a smile. "Cállate," you muttered, walking away from them. Finding Mariona in the dining hall, you asked her if you could give Erin her number. She nodded, smiling. Rolling your eyes, you fired a quick text off to Erin with Mariona's number and a warning not to screw with your new teammate's feelings to get an advantage tomorrow.
By the time light's out came around, you were ready to close your eyes. Patri had decided everyone needed to play games together after dinner. And while you were glad for the team bonding time, you were exhausted from traveling and you had a game to play tomorrow.
Leila was sitting up on her bed, playing on her phone. Not wanting to be rude by turning off all the lights, you left the ones next to the bed on and laid down. "Good night," you said, pulling your comforter up.
"Dulces sueños," she said quietly.
But you didn't have sweet dreams. In fact, you found yourself stuck in the same nightmare that had been plaguing you for months. Taking the final penalty kick in the Euros. And missing. But it wasn't a nightmare. It was memory. Memory from the Euros. Then your teammates had been disappointed but had stood by your side. But now, in your dreams, they hated you. They blamed you for the loss. Now, you were sitting in the middle of the pitch, sobbing, alone, none of your teammates there to comfort you.
"Y/N." Shake. "Y/N."
"I'm sorry," you mumbled. "I'm sorry." Between dream and reality, you couldn't tell the difference. The tears on your face felt real.
"Y/N," she muttered.
Your eyes slowly fluttered open. Leila was kneeling on the bed next to you, one hand on your shoulder. You could feel the (real) tears on your cheeks.
"Es un sueño, hermosa." Using the back of her hand, she wiped some of the tears away. "Is a dream."
You slowly pushed yourself up to a sitting position. Leaning back against the headboard, you took a few breathes, looking around the room, orienting yourself, convincing your brain that you were here in this hotel room with Leila and not out on that pitch alone.
"Okay?" she asked.
You nodded, tucking your hair behind your ear. "Okay."
"You sleep?"
"¿Puedes quedarte conmigo?" you mumbled, unsure if those were the right words to ask for what you needed. (Can you stay with me?)
"Si," she answered. She waited for you to lay down again and adjusted the blankets around you. Laying down next to you, she tried to keep a few inches between you.
Reaching back, you pulled her arm over you and scoot back until you were a little closer to her. You were here in this hotel room with Leila. You needed to keep reminding yourself of that until your brain finally accepted that you weren't alone. "Gracias, Leila," you muttered as you fell into sleep again.

Azure Gleam Ch 13
Alright guys, we're getting close to finishing this thing - like 10 years later, but still here.
MAIN STORY
Ok, guys, the hard battle is over. Dimitri stomping everything is all I have left to do, I hope.
I wonder if I dislike Claude now. He's here and on our side, but I think "ew" and "ugh" when I see him now.
Claude suspects stuff.
Seteth is lecturing Hilda for whining lamo.
Seeing Claude, Rhea, and Dimitri all fight on the same side is cool, even if I find Claude annoying as fuck right now.
I wish Rhea would lead the knights herself, but instead she just gets sidelines so hard in AG. Hopes as a whole tgh.
Oh! No side battles! Not all that mad. Bc that means this'll speed things up a bit lol.
MAP/SIDE BATTLE
Sylvain is admiring Dimitri and Felix and how good of leaders they are. He's hoping he gets his act together soon too lol.
It's cool seeing Byleth and Jeralt around. Rhea's here too. The camp is packed with little blue and yellow dots.
There's a letter from Glenn on the table :(
Seems a bit cheap that Byleth only supports Jeralt and Shez, but can reach A with everyone. Like a cop out.
Honestly, neither of them have a ton of supports (Jeralt or Byleth). A bit bummed, but I guess you get them kind of late. Too bad this game never got a DLC. Byleth/lord supports would've sold that.
ANNETTE & DEDUE B
Annette needs help using Crusher. It's too heavy for her.
Annette thinks she needs to gain weight, but Dedue says that's not everything and is willing to help her out.
He helps her train with a bag of rocks and credits him with the motivation to try.
Dedue hesitates a bit when replying to her though, making Annette curious.
Pretty much a set up for part 2.
ANNETTE & DIMITRI B
Their only support this game.
Annette creates a disaster in the kitchen (or training grounds, unclear). With Dimitri's help. So . . . they tried cooking together? Yeah. That was never going to end well.
Dimitri and Annette both blame themselves. Dimitri "wins" though.
Dimitri wishes he were better with magic, but it runs in the family. He wanted to be a mage when he was younger.
"An old friend of mine would give magic demonstrations." - probably Edelgard?
Annette is willing to help Dimitri learn magic. She wants to get better at teaching. Dimitri really wishes he could learn magic.
Annette really wants to be a teacher.
She encourages him not to hold back. I think he made another explosion. Poor Annette has her work cut out for her lol.
INGRID & MARIANNE B
Horse girls final support.
Ingrid's been trying to figure out what her horse is thinking/wants based on behavior but is struggling.
Unlike Marianne, but, you know, she has help lol.
Ingrid's horse doesn't want to move again, so Marianne comes to help.
The horse/pegasus doesn't want to go to the battlefield because she's worried about Ingrid (and remembering Scarlet Blaze, that sucks, Fuck SB for killing Ingrid)
Ingrid is getting better connecting with her horse, and now will go get to save her friend.
When Ingrid's leaving, Marianne starts wishing for something but doesn't say what, Ingrid guesses horseback riding together and guesses right.
Ingrid credits to spending time with Marianne and getting to know her.
So Ingrid and Marianne are friends now. Good for both of them.
SHEZ & RODRIGUE A
Rodrigue is looking for a book on mercenaries.
When Shez asks why, Rodrigue skirts around it and Shez calls him out.
After a tough battle with Jeralt and co, Rodrigue wants to read up on mercenaries to make sure he understands their tactics better and avoid potential disaster.
Shez is impressed with Rodrigue for still studying after so long.
Rodrigue says he's not as smart as Gautier or courageous as Lambert, so he has too.
Shez says Rodrigue and Felix are close alike than either would admit - they both always want to improve themselves.
(and that Dimitri and Sylvain are like their dad's too)
Rodrigue still feels he doesn't measure up to the other two though :( But I'm happy Shez had such nice things to say about Rodrigue.
MERCEDES & ASHE B
Ashe turned pale while training. He plays it off as nothing, but Mercedes calls him out.
He got a minor injury, which reminded him of seeing a ghost.
Oh, poor Ashe, Mercedes starts playing 100 questions with him - wanting to know what it was wearing lol.
Ashe tells the story - he went looking for herbs to help his sick brother and saw a ghost in the fog. While running away, he got a similar injury.
Mercedes isn't scared of his tale. She's heard it before. In her tale, it wasn't a ghost though, but a shadow. Making Ashe think he saw his own shadow too.
Now Ashe thinks he lived in fear of his own shadow, lamo.
Ashe is like, you should hear this guy's story, and there's no one there.
But this isn't Ashe pulling on Mercedes, but him thinking he found another ghost because there was never anyone else around, lol.
FELIX & RAPHAEL A
Raphael wants to work out. Felix yells at him for being loud and giving him away.
Felix is boar hunting lamo.
Raphael talks about how Petra taught him a special technique. So now we have a Deer and Lion training, talking about an Eagle.
The boar they're hunting is wounded, but Felix is still weary of it.
Felix failed to hunt a boar before.
Dimitri once hunted so many animals that they couldn't fit them all on the sled lol. Felix struggled to get one.
Raphael gets confused when Felix is talking about boar, if he means a real boar or Dimitri lol.
Raphael wants to help Felix get revenge for the boar that got away.
And he attacks head-on, much to Felix's dismay, but he got it. Felix is a bit stunned it went down so quickly.
Felix admits that maybe working with friends helps sometimes. And Raphael is happy Felix called him friend.
This was actually way more entertaining than I thought it would be (Raphael supports can be . . . you know . . . dull or amusing, this one was amusing)
Plus I love hearing the story of Dimitri being an apex hunter as a child and Felix grumbling off trying to bag his own boar and failing lamo.
RODRIGUE & FELIX A
Rodrigue wants to talk. Felix tried to brush him off. And Rodrigue's like shut up and sit down, boy. But nicely.
He wants to talk because neither know when they'll die and don't want lingering regrets. Which, knowing what happens in Azure Moon . . . :(
Rodrigue apologizes for what he said about Glenn. Which I find a bit stupid because he was a grieving father so . . .
Thankfully, Rodrigue gets to explain his thoughts behind it. Acknowledging Glenn's agency in his decisions too.
Felix denies Glenn's agency and can only get Dimitri to say he caused Glenn to die :(
Rodrigue acknowledges that, but asks Felix what he would've done. Let Dimitri die and run away to save himself or do what Glenn did.
Felix gets angry at the idea that saving your own life is cowardice and that, when the time actually comes with something like that, you don't think - only act. So . . . he walked into Rodrigue's trap lol, who'll say then Glenn acted and choose to act that way.
Felix is such a dunce, saying "we'd both survive." Rodrigue rightly accuses him of wanting it both ways lol.
Felix says he understands Rodrigue's way of thinking, but dislikes Glenn's death being glorified.
Felix apologizes too, for his own bad behavior. For hitting Rodrigue.
Felix can't stand dealing with feelings anymore and leaves lol.
I'm sooooo glad this game let Rodrigue have a voice. It was always obvious to anyone with a shred of media literacy what Rodrigue meant, but Hopes let him spell it out.
DIMITRI & YURI B
Yuri's staring at Dimitri. Same. Same.
Yuri's impressed/confused at how quickly Dimitri blended in.
Dimitri's now thinking about the best way to help the poorest (we stan a good king, guys). It's something he's thought a lot about.
He thought medical facilities or investing more in the church (who do more to help the poor than anyone else in this game) would be best, but being around them made him realize that they should get the chance to take charge of their own "destiny."
He wants rulers to actually listen to what the people need best and actually do it rather than what's best for himself.
Yuri says education for everyone is necessary. Dimitri agrees.
But then Yuri makes the point that people won't care about education if they're starving or homeless. (so really, his earlier goals of building medical facilities where people get free/cheap healthcare isn't too far off).
So Dimitri wants to improve quality of life, then build educational reform on top of that.
But of course Edelgard's warmongering is draining money, so Dimitri can't make lives for the common folk better and needs to end the war fast so he can focus on helping people and not keeping little miss imperialist away.
Yuri says if money's the problem, he can use Yuri who can connect Dimitri to merchants and hitman lol. Dimitri's like "no working evil in my name!" He's also cautious about working with Yuri because he's backstabbed people in the past.
Yuri says he promises to honestly work with Dimitri, even protect him, because working with Dimitri will help his dream come true too. So he believes in Dimitri's leadership and vision.
Dimitri says he's grown to trust Yuri too.
Man, I need a sequel game where Yuri and Dimitri work on improving Faerghus together.
SHEZ & FELIX B
So . . . I had no idea I hadn't seen this support yet. I have their A unlocked for a while now too, though, I'll wait to see it since I'm getting support fatigue at the moment.
They're training. Felix insults Shez's footwork. What a typical Felix support lol.
Shez says she has a lot on her mind. Felix calls her a worthless partner if she's training distracted.
And then explains how Shez can't afford to do that on the battlefield (like a mercenary needs telling that lol).
Shez is surprised how much Felix has a read on her.
Felix wants to know where Shez learned how to fight because it's not like a knife or a mercenary.
Shez had a lot of teachers and just picked up stuff here and there. She doesn't use the playbook that knights or mercs usually use.
Shez says she has her unique style which is to her benefit. Felix wants her to teach him. But Shez thinks it's too reliant on the sword Felix can't use. Felix is like try me.
I can agree or refuse to teach him. Obviously I'm agreeing. (I would totally be an ass if it was character I didn't like lol).
Shez comments on Felix's style too - reacting to the say things are playing out.
Shez thinks she'll get stronger too.
I seriously can't believe I let these two sit at B for so long.
ANNETTE & DEDUE A
Annette comes across Dedue training. She insists he takes a break, but he insists on training still because he's not strong enough.
He feels inadequate because he can't use a hero's relic.
He admits he's jealous that others can use such powerful weapons.
Annette's surprised that he opened up, and appreciates that he opened up around her after he tried to dial back and apologize.
Annette talks about how impressed she is with him - his ability to cook and sow where she can't, and his sheer strength despite not using a relic. She thinks he'd be too good if he could use one lol.
Dedue talks about her strengths too - her optimism and how that lifts everyone up around her. Annette is happy if she can help anyone even a little.
Annette made dinner. The bottom of the pot fell out, but she insists that dinner still tastes great.
Someone tell Annette she's not destined to work in marketing lol.
Dedue still goes to eat dinner after hearing that. Brave man.
BYLETH & JERALT B
Definitely one of the supports I was looking forward too.
Byleth has a lot of blood on his clothing and is trying to wash it out and is failing.
Jeralt says washing blood out is more work than it's worth. Proof that man's never had a period.
Jeralt says Byleth reminds him of Sitri when they first meant. She had the same quiet composure and would rather clean a handkerchief she was cleaning than throw it away.
She never laughed or cried either, like Byleth, not at first at least.
Byleth asks why Jeralt is talking about all this now. Jeralt says he's feeling guilty of the lifestyle he's given Byleth - no home, no friends, always battles.
He says life would be different if Sitri was still alive.
Byleth doesn't regret his life and likes having Jeralt around.
It's nice to learn more about Sitri.
JERALT & SHEZ C
Jeralt comes across Shez fishing. Shez is weary. Jeralt tells Shez to relax, but Shez isn't used to it.
Jeralt is like, we're mercs, life happens, it's not personal.
Shez brings up the beginning where Jeralt's Mercenaries wiped out Shez's old company. Glad they're addressing this.
Shez is still upset about it. Jeralt understands now.
He asks if Shez has a grudge. I can choose yes or no. I'm gonna choose yes. I think this Shez would admit to attachments to other people, plus the conflict is more interesting, I think.
Shez talks about how much she liked that group and shares her goals of defeating the Ashen Demon.
Jeralt's like, you just have to let that go now.
Shez admits she's partly relieved because she couldn't defeat Byleth. Jeralt is like, that means you think you could beat me? Shez is like, well, I'd have to try first.
Then Shez helps Jeralt untangle his fishing string and comments on his lack of dexterity.
Jeralt then apologizes about what happened to Shez's mercenary company, especially since it was just too minor lords spewing.
He says he didn't originally plan on killing them, but she (the old captain) came charging in trying to use Jeralt to make a name for herself.
Shez understands, but still seems regretful.
Def hope I can unlock their A in time to see how this resolved (they don't have a B support).
MAIN BATTLE
No side battles this chapter. Onto the showdown at Ailell. Which means fire ground. Ugh. Gonna make everyone a flier that it makes sense for.
They're run into the Black Eagles. The Emperor's personal force.
Claude is there. Man, I gotta play Three Houses again. Every time I see him I'm like "ugh." I did NOT used to think that way.
Wait, is Edelgard actually here? I thought she was some kind of zombie whatever.
TWSITD is there (or mysterious dark mages). Claude is like "you know these people?"
Man, why is Dimitri trusting Claude. Telling him "don't let your guard down." Dimitri wants Claude about the mages. I wouldn't count on Claude's support if he was the only person left.
Even though this IS the only route where Claude's actions make any sense lol. It's definitely in his best interest to put a stop to the Empire's warmongering.
Arval's like, maybe we can learn something this time!
Arval's not upset if they never learn the truth and promises to be with Shez always regardless.
I gotta defeat Duke Aegir and Edelgard. Interesting that she's actually there.
Ohh, persuade Death Knight. They were setting him up to be here, but I didn't know I could recruit him. Makes way more sense than in Houses where you can't. Not surprised you need Mercedes to do it. I always bring her anyways.
Dimitri took out Ladislava right away lol.
Death Knight showed up. I'm beyond seeing him as a scary opponent though lol.
Mercedes defeated the Death Knight as an NPC. Is that automatic or just funny coincidence?
Aegir and Edelgard ran away. Really wish I could've killed Aegir. Killing Edelgard would stop the war too.
I killed Caspar and Bergliez so fast the dialogue didn't even finish lol. Dimitri too strong. They both ran away. Honestly, couldn't care less about killing this version of Caspar.
Oh, cool cut scene. And, ok, it's cool to see Claude and Dimitri fighting back-to-back.
Claude tells Dimitri to run after Edelgard while he holds off the Empire here. Not sure I trust him at all, but like I said, this is the only route where his choices make any sense.
Dimitri has 74 strength lol. No wonder he kills everything so fast.
Cool to get Jeritza though.

Chapter 3: Awakening
TW: attempted murder, talks of execution, summoner gets sadistic.
_______________________________________________
A few days before the festival. After much deliberation you decided the heroes of Fodlan would be a perfect choice for a good first impression of the Order of Heroes to Liyue. You justified bringing this many heroes by telling a half truth, Beidou isn't known for being quiet and for some people being royalty is enough to make someone a target. Bernadetta is there as well, but knowing her you told her she only has to leave the ship if she's needed, after all a festival is meant to be fun, forcing someone to go defeats the purpose. You've already talked to Ingrid and Holst about keeping Sylvain and Balthus on a tight leash, also informing the latter two to be on their best behavior.
Raphael: Hey (Y/N), why did we need to bring all this food? Aren't we going to a festival?
(Y/N): Because, we're not sure what currency Teyvat uses, if they don't use gold the stalls will be all we can get anything from, and that's only some stalls.
Ignatz: So, in short gold may not be a valid currency, you really think of everything summoner.
Raphael: Is it really something they need to think about? I mean, every world we've been to takes gold don't they?
Leonie: Not every world, what about that Tokyo place?
(Y/N): Exactly, it may be a slim chance, but it's still something we need to prepare for.
Anna: Oh!! The currency totally slipped my mind!
(Y/N): Really? I expected you of all people to be on top of that.
You and the others all share a laugh before being interrupted by Caspar.
Caspar: Hey guys, you've got to get up here its crazy!
Everyone rushes to see what the young brawler was going on about, only to be greeted by a slew of lanterns lighting the night sky. While everyone was enamored by the beauty of the harbor at night, you couldn't help but recall those cold sleepless nights during the hunt. Your ship soon reached the docks and you were greeted by an unexpected face.
Ningguang: Welcome, everyone, to Liyue harbor. My name is Ningguang, I am the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, once I heard we were welcoming royalty, I figured I'd see to it personally.
(Y/N): Uh, you weren't waiting here all day, were you?
Ningguang: No need to concern yourself, I could see you approaching from the Jade Chamber, only then did I decide to come down and greet you. Now, I hate to bring business into the conversation, but I'd like to discuss finances, as I've heard your island is from another world entirely...
(Y/N): Apologies lady Ningguang, but the prince and princess are not responsible for such things as the king and queen still hold the throne, they are only responsible for minor things, well minor by comparison anyways.
Ningguang: Is that so? How unfortunate, I suppose I'll simply have to visit this kingdom myself. Anyways, with that you all enjoy yourselves.
Ningguang makes her departure, and you notice a crowd has started to gather, you can hear whispers and murmurs from every direction. Suddenly a figure comes running out of the crowd and up to all of you.
Xinyan: Hi there, I'm Xinyan, Liyue's one and currently only rock artist, pleasure to meet all of you.
Dorothea: Rock? Oh, I know that apparently it was a major hit in the summoner's world, I've been dying to here it, but the summoner can't play for the life of them and no one could teach them a genre they've only heard of.
Xinyan: Well you're in luck, cause I've got a show happenin tonight, it'll take place over. OH, right you haven't been here before, sorry I nearly forgot, c'mon I'll show ya round.
With that Dorothea and a few others left with Xinyan, you try your best to navigate the crowd of people before bumping into someone.
(Y/N): OOF, my apologies, this city is far too crowded, are you alright?
Xiangling: Oh, I'm fine, more importantly, are you those people from that island, I've been so curious about that place ever since it appeared, please tell me everything.
Xingqiu: Xiangling, perhaps you should back up, I take it from their expression they are not quite used to large crowds such as this.
Xiangling looks at you closely, while you are wearing your hood and mask, she could still make out your discomfort from your mouth.
Xiangling: Ah, sorry I got a little too excited.
(Y/N): It's fine, but you're better off asking someone else as I'm a recent arrival there myself.
Xiangling nods and runs off, Xingqiu bows and follows her. As much as you'd like to stay close to your friends, the crowd really is a bit much at the moment so you exit the city's front gate, heading for the nearest teleport waypoint. As you breathe a sigh of relief, you're startled by the sound of approaching footsteps, you turn to see the traveler and Paimon.
(Y/N): Huh!? W-Who's there?
Aether: Whoa there, easy we're just on our way to Liyue, we didn't mean to frighten you.
(Y/N): Sorry, I had to leave the city the crowd was a bit much for me, so I was still a tad on edge.
Aether: I see, would you like some company, it may help you calm down
(Y/N): That would be nice, thank you.
The traveler sat next to you, and the two of you traded stories.
Aether: So you've been to war huh? I can see why crowds overwhelm you now.
Paimon: Yeah, it can't be good for your mind to always be looking for threats around you.
(Y/N): Yeah, but you two have been through a lot to, and all to find your sister.
The three of you sat in silence, Paimon floating as usual, before another set of footsteps approach.
Paimon: Huh? Ah, traveler!
Aether: What is it, huh!?
When the three of you turn around there's a vicious looking individual holding a blade, and wearing your face. This individual says nothing before attempting to stab you. You dodge and ready your weapon.
Aether: You have some nerve showing yourself today of all days.
Imposter: Hehehe, you see this face boy, I'm your god, I'm the one who's meant to rule this world, me, me, MEEE! If you stand in my way, you'll pay with your head!!
You and the traveler dodge their swings again and again, but everytime you two try to strike they dodge or block, they seem to have done some intense training if they can handle the both of you.
Aether: Hey,look out!!
Shaken from your thoughts, you turn to see the fiend's blade mere inches away from you. Time seems to slow down as your end draws closer, when suddenly.
BZZT
CRACKLE
When you next open your eyes you're fine, not a scratch on you.
Imposter: What? How? You won't dodge this one.
In an instant you're behind this would be murderer and start wailing on them. Punch after punch, they try to strike you but are met with a cloud of dust, and one final blow lands them on the ground. As you inspect yourself for any unknown injuries you spot a mark on the back of your hand that resembles the electro sigil, but before you could inspect further it's gone, you're shaken from your thoughts by the sound of groaning, looking to it's source you see your assailant trying to crawl away, before you step on their arm.
(Y/N): You're not going anywhere.
As you say this, you put more and more weight on their arm until you're sure it's broken, then moving to do the same with the other.
Paimon: They were so nice during our chat and now they're acting all vicious, Paimon can't help but be a little scared.
(Y/N): Hmm? Oh, don't worry, I only get this way around truly vile scum.
You say as you snap the person's other arm with a grin on your face.
(Y/N): Anyways, what do we do with them? There a bounty to turn in or was this a first time offense?
Aether: They're the ones who've been trying to masquerade as their grace, so obviously we need to turn them in and execute them.
(Y/N): Alright then. (Whispered) ugh, what a way to spend my birthday.
Aether: What was that?
(Y/N): Nothing, anyways, back to the city.
You and the traveler bring the imposter to the city gates and let the guards take things from there. The guards and all the towns people who saw them being transported seemed ecstatic about their apprehension. This was definitely one of your weirder birthdays.
_______________________________________________
Wow this got long, I just didn't know where to end it, and what's crazier is I wanted to add even more. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, I'll try and focus on character interactions for the next one.

Persona 3/Fire Emblem Three Houses Crossover Megapost
Tumblr media
In celebration of Persona 3 Reload coming out and reigniting my love for S.E.E.S, and wanting to write Three Houses once again, I figured I could do both at once. If you wanna see more, feel free to request interactions/scenarios, I'd be happy to! Enjoy the shenanigans of the Blue Lions and S.E.E.S!
Word Count: 3.2k Content: Blue Lions meeting the P3 Protagonists, Sylvain talking to Aigis, Dimitri talking to Minato and Minako, Byleth and Sothis meeting Elizabeth, and Blue Lions reacting to Personas
Blue Lions meeting the P3 Protagonists ===============================
Byleth walked through the crowded hallways of Garreg Mach Monastery, accompanied by the two mysterious visitors that appeared during the bandit attack.
One was a blue haired boy, both hands in his pocket as he emotionlessly glanced around, ignoring the gaze of the students.
The one beside him was a brown haired girl with a ponytail, who in contrast seemed far more enthusiastic about meeting everyone, waving hello to some of the students.
(Minako) "Come on, you can at least smile a little! We're representing Gekkoukan after all."
Minato rolled his eyes and coldly replied.
(Minato) "Junpei is already ruining our reputation for us back at the entrance. No need for me to do anything."
Minako sighed and looked at her new teacher with a wry smile.
(Minako) "Sorry, this is probably not a good introduction, is it?"
Byleth shrugged, turning to face the both of them. His expression was not too dissimilar from Minato's.
(Byleth) "Honestly, I don't really know how to approach this better than you all. I'm a mercenary."
Minako put a finger to her chin as her brows furrowed.
(Minako) "Hm...Think we should have gotten Mitsuru-senpai to take care of the talking for us?"
(Minato) "Probably."
Minako shrugged shortly after thinking about the situation, her smile quickly coming back.
(Minako) "Well, too late for regrets now!...Actually, where are we going?"
(Byleth) "We're heading towards the...Blue Lions classroom I believe. Dimitri said he wanted to thank you two personally, I have to go to meet with some other people, but I'll check back with you all later."
After departing with Byleth, the siblings entered through a large double door and saw Dimitri surrounded by seven unfamiliar faces.
Dimitri gave them a nod of acknowledgement as the group scattered to make room.
(Dimitri) "I take it your group is getting accustomed to Garreg Mach?"
Minako smiled in response, first looking at everyone's expression and taking note of them before giving an answer. Minato meanwhile kept his stoic look and let his sister do the speaking.
(Minako) "Psh, not in the slightest! We've never seen anything like this back in our world."
An orange haired girl spoke up.
(Annette) "Another world? Wow, so the rumors weren't kidding! That'd certainly explain the weird looking clothes."
A larger dark skinned man standing next to Dimitri followed up her comment with a respectful bow.
(Dedue) "Where your group comes from is irrelevant, we all owe you a debt of gratitude for saving his highness."
Minato nodded back.
(Minato) "Of course. And thanks for giving our friends a place to stay."
(Sylvain) "Jeez, that guy's a little intense. Doesn't he remind you of a certain someone?"
Sylvain elbowed Felix, who gave an annoyed glare back.
(Felix) "Shut up already. They can hear you, you know."
(Minako) "Eh, don't worry about my baby brother here! He's usually like this."
(Mercedes) "Oh, you two are siblings? I wouldn't have guessed!"
Minato replied in an emotionless tone, though it did not carry any hint of malice in it.
(Minato) "We get that a lot."
(Ingrid) "If there's anything you guys need help with, feel free to reach out! My name's Ingrid, by the way."
Everyone took a moment to introduce themselves.
(Ashe) "I really look forward to getting to you know you all!"
Minako gave him a warm smile back.
(Minako) "Me too! And though he may not look like it, this one is too!"
(Minato) "Hm."
The siblings departed the Blue Lions to find their own group, leaving them to converse amongst themselves.
(Dimitri) "They appear to be...a unique bunch."
(Annette) "Minako seems really nice! Though, I couldn't really get a read on her brother."
(Ingrid) "It probably won't take long for Sylvain to piss him off."
(Sylvain) "Hey, why are you making it sound like he will get angry at me? We could be best buds!"
(Felix) "Is that right? Well, I'm not holding my breath."
(Mercedes) "This is going to be a fun year with them around, that's for sure!"
(Ashe) "Probably super chaotic too. I wonder what the rest of their group is like."
(Dedue) "If they are anything like us, Ashe, I'm sure it won't take them long to adjust."
=============================== Sylvain talking to Aigis ===============================
Aigis appeared to be standing still near the greenhouse, quietly examining the plants.
She had been that way for nearly an hour before she was approached by Sylvain.
(Sylvain) "Hey there, Aigis! Whatcha doin' here?"
Her head stiffly turned to face Sylvain and gave a single nod, her face remaining unchanged.
(Aigis) "I am observing the plants in your world. They appear to be very similar to our own, but differ in properties and how they are utilized."
Sylvain tilted his head curiously, turning to look at the plants with a look of genuine curiousity.
(Sylvain) "Huh. I never really thought about that kind of thing before, but it must be crazy for you to see plants be made into healing potions."
(Aigis) "Negative. Plants were used by humans for medicinal purposes, ranging back thousands of years. But the potency of your flora appear to be far stronger than the ones found on Earth."
Her answer confused him, making him shake his head and remember why he was there to begin with.
(Sylvain) "...Okaaay, kinda lost me there. But, if you're wanting to see other things that are different, how about going out into town with me?"
(Aigis) "Are you asking me out on what they refer to as a 'date'?"
Sylvain chuckled at her question.
(Sylvain) "If you wanna call it that, then sure-!"
(Aigis) "The answer is no."
(Sylvain) "Wha- why not?!"
(Aigis) "Minato-san has specifically warned me to not go on any dates. Especially with you, Sylvain."
Though her tone was completely static, he could gleam a bit of malice in the response.
(Sylvain) "Okay listen, whatever he told you about me is not true!"
(Aigis) "He has not told me anything."
(Sylvain) "Then who did?"
Aigis paused for a moment before resuming.
(Aigis) "...The list is as follows: Ingrid, Felix, Dimitri, Dorothea, Yukari, Junpei, Mitsuru, Minako, Byleth-"
(Sylvain) "Alright alright, I got the message across! But surely you must be curious about going outside the Monastery for at least a few hours? I can be a tour guide at least!"
Aigis paused once again.
(Aigis) "...I comprehend. If this is not a date, then I do not have a problem with this request."
(Sylvain) "G-Great! See you in half an hour?"
(Aigis) "Affirmative. I also have an order I am obliged to follow, given by Minato and Minako in regards to you."
Sylvain wasn't even sure he wanted to know what it was.
(Sylvain) "And that is...?"
(Aigis) "I am authorized to use force if pressured onto a date."
(Sylvain) "F-Force?! Now hang on just a-"
(Aigis) "Commencing preparations. Please meet me by the entrance in half an hour."
Aigis walked away, leaving Sylvain standing by himself with an open jaw.
(Sylvain) "What the heck is with her?!"
C Support Reached!
=============================== Dimitri talking to Minato and Minako ===============================
Dimitri walked into the dormitories where the S.E.E.S members had taken up residence during their stay at Garreg Mach.
At the moment it was just Minato sitting on the couch with a strange device on his ears, and Minako reading a book from the library.
Minako looked up from her book and waved to Dimitri.
(Minako) "Hey, Dimitri! Surprised to see you here!"
Minato noticed Minako moving and grabbed the right side of his device and lifted it off. Dimitri could hear words coming out of it.
"Hey, hey, hey" Fueling the fire with the burning desire-
(Minato) "Hey."
(Dimitri) "Are those words coming out of that earmuff?"
(Minako) "Oh, that's right! I forget you guys don't know what headphones are!"
Minato raised an eyebrow at his sister.
(Minato) "We've been in a medieval world this entire time, and you forgot that it doesn't have technology like ours?"
(Minako) "Hush you! Anyways, that's a small...thingy that can play music, in short. Now whatcha need?"
Dimitri cleared his throat after focusing away from Minato's headphones.
(Dimitri) "Truthfully, I was curious to see what you all got up to in your free time. You seemed to have adjusted to the school life well, but I was wanting to make sure you could do so in your free time."
Minato shrugged nonchalantly.
(Minato) "We're managing, surprisingly."
(Minako) "Yeah, who knew that hanging out with a buncha people our age who can cast fireballs would seem so normal!"
(Dimitri) "That's another thing I wanted to ask. Your group seems well versed in combat already. What exactly is your home like?"
(Minako) "Weeeeeelll-"
Her voice trailed off, waving one hand dismissively.
(Minako) "Just self defense is all! We have to deal with vagrants in our world too."
(Dimitri) "Is...that right?"
(Minato) "You're a worse liar than Ashe-"
Minako immediately pointed at her little brother.
(Minako) "YOU! YOUR FACE, SHUT!"
That made Dimitri laugh.
(Dimitri) "I apologize, I did not mean to pry. I am just impressed more than anything."
(Minato) "Relatedly...Today's the first full moon here at Garreg Mach, right?"
Dimitri noticed how both their expressions suddenly became serious.
(Dimitri) "Y-Yes it is. It also means it's nearly been a month since you all first came here. Is the moon significant in your world?"
Minato sat up from the couch and put his hands into his pocket.
(Minato) "Very."
Minato began walking away from the group before giving Dimitri one last look.
(Minato) "You might get your answer sooner than you think."
As he exited the dorm, he turned to Minako.
(Dimitri) "Did I say something wrong?"
(Minako) "Oh, don't mind him. He's usually that much of a jackass...But he's not wrong...Say, how about we spar near midnight, Dimitri?"
=============================== Byleth and Sothis meeting Elizabeth ===============================
Byleth woke up in his bed, rubbing his eye before noticing Sothis was trying to shake him awake.
(Sothis) "Finally! Do you know how long I've been trying to- Know what? Forget it, that doesn't matter! There's something here!"
(Byleth) "Something here? What are you-"
He paused when he noticed there was a blue glow coming from outside the door to his room.
Byleth immediately grabbed his sword and nearly kicked down the door with Sothis floating behind him.
Only to see another door in front of him, glowing blue and with an energy he could not place the feeling of.
(Byleth) "That wasn't here yesterday."
(Sothis) "Your keen senses of observation never ceases to amaze me, child."
Byleth made no comment as he slowly circled around the door. There was nothing it led to, even on the other side.
Byleth saw a group of students walk past the door, giving him an odd look but saying hello, not even acknowledging the door's presence.
(Sothis) "The door feels...strangely familiar."
(Byleth) "Should we go inside it?"
The two exchanged a glance before slowly opening the door and entering it.
...
Inside sat Sothis's throne, now bathed in a ghastly blue aura, a table sitting in front of it, but most notable of all was the fact a woman was standing inside, alone.
(Sothis) "M-My throne!"
The woman turned towards her visitors and politely bowed.
She had blonde hair and a strange blue attire, adorned with a small hat that rested on her head.
While everything about her seemed to be human, the way she portrayed herself and everything surrounding her was anything but.
(???) "Welcome, to the Velvet Room."
(Sothis) "Velvet Room? This is MY room!"
(???) "...Ah, so it is! I was wondering why it was so empty. I hope you do not mind that I have taken up residence here, you have my sincerest apologies!"
Byleth reached for his sword, but suddenly realized it was gone. Deciding to question instead of fight, he simply asked:
(Byleth) "Who are you?"
The woman smiled at the question and bowed once again.
(Elizabeth) "My name is Elizabeth, it is a pleasure to be your acquaintance! I am the attendee to the two under your care."
It took a moment for them to realize who she was talking about.
(Byleth) "Minato and Minako?"
Suddenly, things made sense. Everytime Sothis appeared to talk to him, they appeared to be aware of her, despite the fact no one else in their group could.
They already weren't normal, but this further solidified that something else was at play here.
(Elizabeth) "The Arisato siblings, yes! Well, truth be told my brother is supposed to be here, but alas he is nowhere to be found. But I am more than enough to serve their purpose."
(Sothis) "What do you provide that requires taking over my home?"
(Byleth) "That's in my head, no less..."
(Elizabeth) "I provide them with the fusing of Personas for their journey. Nothing more, and nothing less! For we can only assist, never directly intervene.
Elizabeth put a finger to her chin, thinking about what to say next.
(Elizabeth) "As for the occupation, it seemed this was the only place I could manifest myself that could easily reach you as well. Your fates are all intertwined, after all!"
Sothis sighed and crossed her arms, floating over to Elizabeth.
(Sothis) "You couldn't ask?"
(Elizabeth) "I tried, multiple times. But I believe you were asleep everytime I attempted, and eventually found this empty room, save the throne."
(Byleth) "...That one is more of your fault than anything-"
(Sothis) "Be quiet."
(Elizabeth) "I look forward to getting to know you two as well."
(Byleth) "Well, I'm Byleth, and that's Sothis. I guess we'll get to know you too."
Suddenly, the door opened behind them.
(Minako) "I guess it makes sense for the Velvet room to- OHMYGOD!-"
Minako leapt back in fear while Minato only flinched.
(Minako) "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
(Minato) "It's that floating green thing again too-"
(Sothis) "EXCUSE ME?!"
=============================== Blue Lions Reacting to Personas ===============================
(Dimitri) "EVERYONE, TO THE CATHEDRAL!"
The Blue Lions and Byleth dashed across the bridge leading to Garreg Mach's cathedral, bathed in the ominous light of a full moon.
The previously calm black skies had darkened to a sickly pale green glow while being chased by monsters.
While they could kill a few of them, there were too many of them to deal with. And under the moonlight they appeared to be getting stronger.
Ashe, Mercedes, and Annette attempted to hold back the monsters with spells and arrows, but if they stood their ground they would have been overwhelmed.
Instead, Dimitri, Dedue, Felix, and Byleth held the ones in pursuit off while Ingrid and Sylvain tried to find a way inside.
(Sylvain) "Damn it, it's stuck!"
(Ingrid) "Then we gotta kick the door down!-"
Before she could attempt to do so, the ground they were standing on quickly darkened, making everyone look up.
A massive blob-like monster slithered down the walls, with too many arms to count protruding out of it, all wielding swords.
(Annette) "B-BEHIND US!"
Everyone turned around and gained distance as the monster crashed onto the concrete, sending bricks flying into the air at violent speeds.
The Blue Lions had been pincered by these creatures.
(Mercedes) "I-Is this the work of the same people that attacked the burial site?!"
(Dedue) "I am unsure if even they are capable of doing this! The people I had been speaking to suddenly turned into coffins!"
(Byleth) "Here's the plan, when I count to three, we break through these monsters coming from the bridge and make a run-"
Before he could finish his sentence, they all heard someone speaking to them.
(Fuuka's Voice) "Thank goodness, you all are still okay! Can you hear me?!"
(Felix) "Is that...Fuuka?!"
(Ashe) "Is she in danger too?! How can we hear-"
(Fuuka's Voice) "Everyone needs to get back to a safe distance from the Shadows on the bridge, right now!"
Without warning, the shadows suddenly burst into a black mist from what appeared to be an ice spell.
Mitsuru, Akihiko, Ken, Shinji, Aigis, and even their dog, Koromaru, were standing from the entrance, all wielding weapons.
(Mitsuru) "Everyone, escape to us, we'll keep you safe!"
Before anyone could react, Minato, Minako, Junpei, and Yukari ran in front of them, all wielding strange devices in their hands with red armbands.
(Dimitri) "Wait, that thing is too dangerous for you to-!"
Minako turned to them with a smirk, giving them a thumbs up and cutting Dimitri off.
(Minako) "Don't worry. Bandits and cultists are your guys things, Shadows are ours!"
(Junpei) "Hell yeah, time for us to finally shine!"
(Yukari) "Please focus, you two!"
(Minato) "You wanted to see where we got our combat skills from, right Dimitri? Here's your answer."
Everyone watched with confusion as they pointed strange devices to all their heads.
(Minato/Minako, Junpei, and Yukari)
"ORPHEUS!" "HERMES!" "IO!"
The monster seemed to recoil in surprise once the four pulled the trigger, summoning monsters of their own, igniting the area around them in a bright blue flame.
They rushed the monster with their weapons raised, joined by their ghastly summons and seemed to attack with near perfect synchronization.
Looking back at the bridge, the rest of them appeared to be doing the same and wiping out the smaller monsters with ease.
(Shinji) "The hell are you doing standing still, get a damn move on!"
(Byleth) "You heard them, MOVE IT!"
The Blue Lions did as commanded, running from the fight, though most of them couldn't tear their eyes off from what they were seeing.
(Sylvain) "Holy hell, they're tearing those things apart! What even are they?!"
(Felix) "Tch, no wonder they always seemed like they were holding back, it's because they were!"
(Annette) "Are those made from magic?!"
(Mercedes) "They look more like ghosts to me!"
(Ashe) "I-I hope they're not, but I'm glad they're on our side!"
(Ingrid) "Think they can teach us how to do that too?"
(Dedue) "I do not think we should be asking questions like these right now!"
(Dimitri) "Agreed, we need to find somewhere safe!"
(Byleth) What kind of place is their world where fighting monsters like these is normal for them?!
...
(Elizabeth) "Hah, I knew they'd have no problem."
Sothis watched the ongoing fight with her jaw opened wide, not believing what was happening.
...
Once the Full Moon Shadow was dispatched of, the members of S.E.E.S moved to find the Blue Lions.
(Fuuka) "Good work everyone, the rest of the shadows are disappearing en masse."
(Mitsuru) "Operation complete, though I cannot say I feel particularly great after this victory."
(Ken) "I can't believe the Dark Hour followed us here..."
(Koromaru) "Woof!"
(Aigis) "Koromaru agrees."
(Minato) "Makes sense something would be up if we could still use our evokers here, even outside the Dark Hour."
(Yukari) "I can't help but feel responsible. We brought the Dark Hour to a place that didn't even have to deal with it..."
(Junpei) "Saving one world was already great, but maybe we'll get the credit for two?"
(Shinji) "Tch, what a pain in the ass."
(Akihiko) "Suppose we just need to keep in mind of the moon here too, on top of all the other things to worry about."
(Minako) "Feels good finally getting to let loose without worrying about witnes-...Oh crap, where did the Blue Lions go! They didn't exactly look like they'd forget about this anytime soon!"
Fuuka quickly found where they were hiding, and S.E.E.S moved to find and explain everything they could.
Or at least, attempt to explain.
Mitsuru and Minato had to do most of the explaining.

Later that night, Cara leaves for her apartment and Ingrid half-carries a sleepy and grumbly Macy back home, adding that she’d stay but Macy has school. Grace and Iseul chat with Grace’s mom. “So, bheta, anything new?” Amna asks, eyeing Grace’s left hand for signs of a ring. “Well, actually mum…” Grace says, glancing at Iseul, who nods encouragingly. “I've moved in with Issy.” She says gently, and Amna bites her lip. “Oh okay, that’s fine.” She says. “Ammi-” Grace begins, but Amna sighs. “Bheta, you know how I feel on this, I still think you and Iseul should’ve married before moving in because its not proper. Our family in Pakistan have been asking me when you two will marry.” Grace sighs. “I love nana nano and everyone, but it's not their business when I marry." Grace says stubbornly. "I know, Gracie, but I get so sheepish now when they ask me and I have to say no, not yet." Amna adds gently, and Grace sighs again.
There's a slightly awkward silence, and Iseul speaks up. "Mrs. S, I'm definitely planning on marrying your daughter one day. Don't worry." She says, smiling at Amna. "I know, dear." Amna says, softening up a bit. "I wasn't sure of you when we first met but I've come to see how much you love and care for Gracie, and Samuel and I both really like you." Iseul nods. "That means a lot, Mrs. S, and trust me, if Grace and I were both ready, I'd take her to the town jeweler to buy rings right now. But I don't want to rush anything and we're just enjoying each other and taking it slow." Grace blushes and nudges Iseul, who grins at her "Sorry, I meant enjoying time with each other." Iseul corrects, and thankfully Amna doesn't notice the accidental double meaning and nods.

I'm really sorry for the rant. If you don't want any more on this subject please ignore this.
I care about games. I care about media. I care about the consumerism, capitalism lowering the standards for media and leading to anti-intellectualism among some people ( which I think we can agree on seeing your opinion on booktok ? ) like the ones complaining about three houses story directly saying they prefer tropey story and horny element, worded like that. Ultimately this isn't just Engage but other game as well, it's not even just the video game industry...
I care about how the representation of diversity seems to be going backwards in this FE. You had strong feminist theme in Fe3h along with fascinating women characters allowed to be powerful, flawed, angry... Now you have camera focusing on boob and ass as well as some weird horny design ( at least men and women seems equally bad in term of trope ). You had Claude, Petra, Hapi, Shamir, Cyril and more speaking of xenophobia and racism... Now you have some weirdly orientalist element.
Even, outside of all that, if it was just a game. Aren't we allowed to be upset that the elements we love the most, the complex story and characters, aren't present? Aren't we allowed to feel the series is going backwards from our point of view?
If Three Houses wasn't that complex, then why aren't we allowed to have been hoping the series would go forward and not backwards in term of complexity?
There's nothing wrong with liking Engage, and people who say you can't enjoy it are wrong, but we're allowed to be upset. Three Houses fans are a non-negligible part of the fandom, our opinions matters just as much now!
I think the circle of hate you mentioned for new game is also present for games that are just behind the recently new released game, as far as I've seen for other FE.
At least I hope that like you say the next FE will be like Fe3h story and character wise as well as taking Engage better technical aspect.
You can read and enjoy both Danielle Steele and George Eliot, y'know. Booktok isn't anti-intellectual, it's easily-led young people who have always existed and always been about the same. It's an annoyance, not the end of literature.
The whole "dumbing down" of media/media is corrupting people is... an argument as old as media. OH NO PICTURE SHOWS WILL RUIN THEATER. ALAS THE YOUNG PEOPLE WOULD RATHER READ DICKENS THAN CLASSICAL LITERATURE. MY STARS, THE YOUTH OF ATHENS ARE LISTENING TO ***PHILOSOPHERS***!
🤷‍♀️
And diversity? In Fire Emblem? Going backwards???
I remember when practically last week people were whining about Ingrid, about Claude, about Dedue. About the M/M paired endings. Before that it was about the tribes in Fates and the single M/M and F/F S-supports. Before that, well, Awakening apparently ruined the series by being popular. 🤣
FE is not and has never been known for racial or sexual nuance.
I play games that entertain. I don't need to be taught ethics on my Switch. I have morals already. If a game wants to teach morals or ethics, that's cool. But if it doesn't, you can't say it had some obligation to do so. Make your own game. FE has never been that deep. And Three Houses wasn't as deep as people now suddenly want to insist. It wasn't complex. It just had four different versions of storyline, all of which left multiple loose ends and unanswered questions.
You're allowed to be upset. And I'm allowed to roll my eyes.
IT. IS. A. GAME. A strategy game. Not the second coming of Immanuel Kant or Simone de Beauvoir or Mary Wollstonecraft. Nor did it ever claim to be.
I'll be enjoying it very soon. And I'll wait for the whiners to find something else to complain about. I'm sure the next crusade is just around the corner. It always is. Always is. Trust me - I've actually gotten past age twenty and have the ability to enjoy things without them being 100% morally pure and perfect.

my favorite songs off folie a deux are she's my winona, tiffany blews, and w.a.m.s!
i love she's my winona lyrically -- few things have described how i experience mental illness quite like "i'm never the same person when i go to sleep/as when i wake up, as when i wake up". i think the contrast between the fast paced, racing verses, with a lack of cohesive prechorus, into a sweeping and triumphant chorus, "hell or glory/i don't want anything in between," creates a dynamic, intriguing song that has me hitting repeat. i think this song, out of all of the songs on this album, is the closest to nonfiction that we get, the closest the listener gets to seeing pete as himself as opposed to the many characters that he writes from the perspective of in this album. and we LOVE a key change.
tiffany blews is interesting on a lot of levels -- i think it really shows how funny pete wentz can be as a lyricist ("i'm not a crybaby/i'm THE crybaby" is objectively hilarious, because relatable as fuck -- hey now, if you're gonna make fun of me do it right, etc etc) and i think the lil wayne guest is their most important and best guest to date, only followed by big sean in the mighty fall, and contains lyrics that are so so so "not the boy i was/the boy i am is just venting, venting/dear gravity/you held me down in this starless city" . as well as this it's SO musically engaging, patrick deconstructing the traditional song structure by having the big pause in the beginning pre-chorus and the subsequent pre-choruses flowing into the main chorus as a meta commentary on the lyrical content, the feature completely changing the mood of the song with arrangement/tempo/melody.
w.a.m.s. is, like jetset life by mcr, completely inscrutable lyrically and musically, and also contains some of the meanest pete lyrics to date, because it's simultaneously mature and immature "oh freckle, freckle, what makes you so special? what makes you so special? i'm gonna leave you, i'm gonna teach you, how we're all alone." the lyrics themselves are damning, very bare and psychologically telling, but patrick's anguished, almost sniveling delivery really seals the deal with its vindictiveness. plus -- mayhaps my hottest take yet -- but i think the spoken word at the end is far superior to the spoken word at the end of "get busy living or get busy dying" by a LONG SHOT. it's mature. it's unnerving. it's a man at the brink, and it actually flows into west coast smoker, unlike the abrupt beginning of "xo".

Midnight Plays Azure Gleam: Chapter 11
Betcha thought I'd forgotten about this, huh? Just more of real life getting in the way, and me spending most of my gaming time with Dragalia Lost in its waning days of existence (sob). I forgot to mention previously that I am chronically slow with playing through games in general.
This was a very long chapter, so there's a long post under the cut.
The narration says that after dealing with the Western Church, the Kingdom has now set up base in Gerth territory.
Rodrigue's back! He thinks things are finally settled in the western territories, and that the new heads of Houses Gideon, Elidure and Mateus should ensure there's no more internal rebellion.
Ashe is surprised that the rebel houses got to keep their territory. Dedue implies it may be temporary? (His line feels a bit out of place.) Rodrigue says dissenters always arise when the head of a territory is replaced, both among nobles and commoners. Felix is surprised things have gone relatively smoothly, to which Rodrigue reminds him that he has lots of experience with kingdom politics.
(Rodrigue's dad energy is so good. Not just towards Felix and Dimitri but to the Lions as a whole.)
Turning to the war, Dimitri recaps a report from Gustave that Claude is waiting for the ideal time to advance in the east, since Claude doesn't want to face Count Bergliez head on. So the Alliance is going to feign a deadlock and whittle away at the Imperial forces. Which is basically what was shown at the end of the last chapter.
Shez asks if they should wait to advance on Hevring territory until the Alliance can come help. Dimitri says no, since if the Kingdom proves a great enough threat, it will draw more of the Imperial army westward, which will give Claude an opportunity.
Felix wonders if Claude can be trusted. Annette speculates he might be trying to wear the Kingdom down so the Alliance can attack it later. (Again with this stuff. I know Claude's the "schemer" by reputation, but what exactly has he done in this story that makes him so untrustworthy?)
Ingrid at least thinks Claude is on the level, as long as they have the same enemy. ....And then in the next breath says that he's "tricky to pin down." [Sigh] Mercedes doesn't think it hurts to be too cautious. That's not a bad mindset, but this is still coming across as contrived, IMO.
Dimitri offers reassurance, saying that if the Alliance did try anything, Gustave and the Knights of Seiros should be enough to stop it. So we're to proceed with Claude's plan. Dimitri wants to end the war as soon as possible, for the sake of everyone caught in the middle.
Rodrigue asks if Dimitri can "topple" Edelgard. (I'm assuming this is a euphemism for kill.) And he means this from an emotional standpoint, rather than a strategic one. Shez says anyone would hesitate to cut down their own family.
Dimitri asks Rodrigue if he really thinks he's incapable, considering he executed Rufus. He still has questions for Edelgard about Duscur, and then says he's not so different from her in starting wars of their own volition.
(I'm sorry, what? HOW are their actions the same? Dimitri is trying to end the chaos that Edelgard created when she declared war on the Church of Seiros. THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING!)
(I am so effing done with this "both sides" bullcrap. Over and over again the writers keep trying to force this false equivalency between the Empire's actions and the Kingdom's reactions, and it's wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. There is a HUGE difference between starting a war of aggression and defending your sovereign nation and your allies from that aggressor. IT. IS. NOT. THE. SAME.)
Dimitri says that if Edelgard refuses to yield, then he will take her life. (Shades of Azure Moon. Will we get another parlay between Dimitri and Edelgard in this timeline?) Rodrigue is pleased to hear it, and then hands over a letter he found during his inquiry with Viscount Elidure.
...The letter is from Patricia. Oh no.
Rodrigue has already read the letter, and says it has no new information, but he thinks Dimitri will probably find it disturbing. Dimitri says he'll read it later.
...Which is apparently right now for us, because the scene immediately changes to Shez and Dimitri discussing the letter. It was a missive to Viscount Elidure requesting cooperation in the conspiracy. Patricia/Anselma expressed sympathy for the Viscount's objections to Lambert's reforms, and said the Viscount would have a lot to gain from Lambert's death. Dimitri had the letter checked for any signs of forgery, but it's apparently authentic.
So yeah, Patricia did indeed participate in the Tragedy of Duscur. Ouch.
Dimitri says that every memory he has of his stepmother, she was "looking past" him, like the person she really cared for was somewhere else. But he still finds it hard to come to terms with her crimes, even in the face of solid evidence. He says he counted Patricia among the people he wished to avenge, but now she lies "squarely in the path of his fury."
(Note that Dimitri is sad/regretful as he's talking about all this, not angry. What a raw deal he got; the only mother he ever knew, whom he loved as a mother, cared so little for him that she was willing to sacrifice him in a regicide plot so she could go back to the Empire.)
(Press X to hug!)
Shez unhelpfully calls the whole thing "heavy stuff" and then Dimitri notes that something seems to be bothering Shez and asks what it is. (How typical of Dimitri to be worried about his friend while he's grappling with this awful bombshell. Some things never change!)
Shez brings up Myson and how he was familiar with Shez's powers. Shez isn't sure they trust themselves anymore, and wants to know the truth of who they are.
Dimitri says he trusts Shez. Shez asks what would happen if they suddenly transformed and attacked him (foreshadowing?), and Dimitri says he would stop them, and trails off before actually saying he'd kill Shez if he had to.
Shez says death is a good motivator to get their powers under control. Arval is upset that Shez sounds like they're OK with Dimitri killing them if the need arose. Hm....
Camp (Mideastern Gerth Territory)
Dorothea is worried about "Edie" and outright wonders if she's dead.
An NPC mercenary says a bunch of people have been defecting from the Empire lately. Said mercenary is actually one of those defectors; she chose to fight for the Empire at the start of the war because they seemed stronger, but now her money's on the Kingdom.
Now Marianne is worried about Edelgard. What earthly reason does Marianne have to be worried about Edelgard? They weren't even classmates during the whole month the Officer's Academy was open. What the hell?
Annette feels guilty that we're the ones "invading" now. Yes, that's true from a technical standpoint, but.... (That sound you hear in the background is my teeth grinding together.)
An NPC merchant talks about being rescued by the Knights of Seiros. He says he used to think the Central Church was "garbage" but now thinks he was mistaken.
Balthus and Yuri are bickering like a married couple, lol.
An NPC Kingdom Soldier says Jeralt's group works for Randolph. That guy again, huh?
Petra doesn't think Brigid will be having any relations with the Empire after the war. (Good for her.)
Flayn wants to save the people, even if it means fighting to do so.
An NPC Empire soldier expresses concern for Randolph. It's kind of insulting that this game's insisting Randolph's a good guy I should care about when his most memorable appearance in 3H was when Dimitri directly challenged his hypocrisy. Randolph has never been anything more than a Red Shirt.
Rodrigue wonders if he should've given Patricia's letter to Dimitri. (I think he did the right thing for the record, painful as it is.)
Paralogue: Raiders From the North
Woo! A paralogue featuring Dimitri, Sylvain and Rodrigue!
Shez complains about the cold, and says there's no snow (again). Sylvain says it's often coldest where there isn't snow. (Right, I'm sure the beaches of Hawaii are much colder than the top of Mt. Everest. /s)
(For the record, I live in a place that has long, cold winters and I have no idea what Sylvain's line is supposed to mean. It's true that if the air gets cold enough, snow cannot fall, but the coldest section of my state is the one that typically gets the most snow every winter overall, not the least.)
(In other words, give me my goddamn snow map. Or at least stop treating me like an idiot incapable of seeing through your contrived excuses for the lack of one.)
So this is all about invaders from Sreng, as the title implies. Shez asks if Faerghus and Sreng are mortal enemies, and Sylvain says it's not quite that but that there's always been fighting between the two. When Faerghus won the northern campaign years ago, the Sreng leader offered his youngest son as a POW, and that same son is now leading the current raid.
Rodrigue explains that Margrave Gautier's first wife was lost during the Sreng offensive (this is Miklan's mother), but in an effort to foster better relations, Matthias taught the POW the Faerghus language and customs and treated him well. But the prisoner escaped at the first opportunity.
Dimitri notes that our opponent would know more about Faerghus strategies than a typical Sreng commander would.
Matthias enters, and explains that we're heading for a place called the Ruska Mountains. Rodrigue knows the stronghold and notes that it's like their re-enacting the northern campaign. Matthias apologies for dragging Dimitri into this matter, but Dimitri naturally doesn't mind.
Sylvain cracks a joke about slacking off and gets an (implied) death glare from his dad and immediately walks it back, lol.
Rodrigue self-deprecates that he's just a common military man now, and Matthias calls him out on his false modesty. (These two are great together. You can see where Sylvain and Felix get it from.)
Matthias exhorts everyone to make "our king" proud. But I get the impression he's referring to Lambert, not Dimitri.
Pretty big map, but it doesn't look too complicated. The goal is simply to drive back the Sreng army. Matthias joins us as a green unit, and naturally we have to keep him alive.
Dimitri remarks that his father once stood on this battlefield. Sylvain isn't sure how he feels about repeating the same fight.
Rodrigue says he feels like he's fighting beside Matthias and Lambert again. Sylvain is flattered, but doesn't think he can compared to his dad. Dimitri says he's more than worthy of the comparison.
After defeating the Sreng generals, reinforcements come in, and we're given three strongholds to seize in a limited time.
Sylvain says that the enemy's tactics remind him of his father's chess strategies.
At Sylvain's prompt, Rodrigue talks a bit about Matthias' first wife. She was a classmate of theirs at the Officer's Academy, the star pupil of the Black Eagles. Dimitri says Matthias got his "Wall of Ice" title after her death. Rodrigue affirms this, and says that Matthias was lively and cheerful before that. (So he was more like Sylvain, I guess.)
There, seized the strongholds in time....and a buttload of reinforcements come out. The boss music kicks in as the Sreng leader taunts us. Defeating this round of reinforcements lures him out to play. He makes a beeline for Matthias, but since he hangs out at the center of the map, that's not a problem.
The commander has a little friendly-ish banter with Sylvain after he's defeated. Interesting.
A Rank, once again because of a too-low killcount (1356/1600). Paralogue battles in particular seem to have excessively demanding kill requirements. Dimitri won the MVP, naturally.
After the battle, Matthias says he's never seen this kind of ferocity from Sreng forces before, but says he's still surprised the commander tried to "batter" his way into Faerghus like that.
Shez thinks maybe Sreng saw the war as an opportunity for them. Dimitri wonders if someone from Adrestia incited them to attack, and Rodrigue mentions it could've been Cornelia's allies. (He likens them to a "bad rash," lol)
Matthias says the fault is still his for educating the Sreng commander in the first place. Sylvain says he shouldn't blame himself, and Dimitri points out that because the commander spoke their language, Sylvain was able to speak with him briefly.
Dimitri says he was raised to think of the Sreng people as demons, so even exchanging a few sentences with them feels like a "miracle." Sylvain agrees, as they can't achieve peace without understanding each other.
Matthias gets angry, since he can't see a way to peace with Sreng. Sylvain tells him he'll find a way, even if it takes his whole life. Matthias calls him naive and storms off. Rodrigue runs after him.
Dimitri compliments the earnestness of Sylvain's words. Sylvain reiterates that he's determined to make peace between Faerghus and Sreng somehow. Dimitri agrees that there's no need to use military might if another way is possible, and say he appreciates the way Sylvain thinks. Sylvain says he's impressed with how much Dimitri hates warfare considering he's good at it. (This whole exchange between them is great stuff; it's like the A support they never got in 3H. <3)
Shez asks if the Margrave will be OK. Sylvain says if Matthias really thought he was a naive idiot, he wouldn't have said anything at all.
Cut to Rodrigue and Matthias. They reminisce a bit about their time as students, and Matthias says Lambert wanted to forge peace between Faerghus, Duscur and Sreng. (Knowing that makes what happened to him even more tragic. Ouch.) Matthias remembers calling Lambert naive back then, but now wonders if he's actually the naive one, because he can't see things now as Lambert once did. He wonders if maybe peace with Sreng is possible after all.
Rodrigue says he hasn't changed at all, and tells him that if he regrets what he said to Sylvain, he should apologize. Matthias agrees.
...But we don't get to see that scene, though we get the Lance of Ruin (woo!) which strikes me as a very "Faerghus Dad" way of apologizing.
Really liked this paralogue. The battle was fun, there's some interesting worldbuilding bits and some great character interactions. Good stuff all around!
Battle
So we're taking on the forces of four Imperial houses at once, including Essar and Ochs, who should sound familiar. Dimitri reminds the group that we're the invaders this time. This particular short speech is fine on its own, but since it sits on top of the steaming pile of both-siderisms the game keeps throwing out, I can't help but be a little annoyed by it. Again.
Annette says this battle is the key to stopping the war. Ashe says he believes in this path, and Felix, Dedue and Sylvain chime in with similar sentiments, along with their support for Dimitri. Rodrigue says it's time to show the Empire what happens when they cross the people of Faerghus.
Another very big map, with an intimidating kill count of 2000. (Ugh). Our final Wolf, Constance, is here to recruit, and so is everyone's favorite sleepyhead, Linhardt. Opting to recruit them both requires nearly all of the Strategy Points!
Starting off, it's the usual "defeat the vanguard and seize a few marked strongholds" thing. Mercedes thinks it seems too easy, which is probably a hint that there will be something different on this map soon enough.
Seizing the next designated area now makes Rodrigue think things are going too smoothly.
Ah, now we get to pursue Monica. We also have to seize many more strongholds, some of which are annoyingly behind locked gates. There's a Gatekeeper we have to take out first.
....And of course, it's some kind of trap. Defeating the Gatekeeper spawns Hanneman, who proceeds to start dropping Bolting spells. Linhardt also appears (as a Holy Knight!) with a bunch of reinforcements.
Oh and there's Constance too, jeez. As well as some of the faceless Imperial nobles who sound very eager to bury the Faerghus army.
There, recruited Constance and Linhardt. Linhardt sounds super whiny after being defeated, lol.
The faceless nobles just retreat after being defeated. I'm a little disappointed. If the game wants me to feel bad for invading, it's gotta let me draw some blood, you know?
Oh, we get to actually kill Baron Ochs. Not that it matters since he's not really a character. Monica's reaction to his death is pretty underwhelming too, but she does finally come out to fight.
And Manuela's here now too. Haven't seen her yet at all, I don't think.
Oh come on! Even Monica just retreats. I wonder if she'll be like Ferdinand and Hubert and conveniently die/disappear offscreen. Does this game want me to feel bad about fighting the Empire or not?
So there's a gimmick with Manuela and Hanneman, in that she'll keep healing him when you bring his HP close to zero. There's probably a limit to how many times she does this? I don't know, but Rodrigue points you to defeat her first, so that's what I did. And yup, they both just retreat upon defeat. [Eyeroll] Dimitri speculates we might see them again though, so...maybe that's foreshadowing.
The final boss is Duke Gerth. Why this guy and not one of the characters we actually know? For a "climatic" clash, this is seriously underwhelming in terms of drama.
...Holy crap even Duke Gerth retreats. [Facepalm]
I got the S Rank! I just barely eked out enough kills, 2060. Dimitri won the MVP, yet again.
Post Battle
Rodrigue says the Imperial nobles will battle to the end to fight for their homes (which is why they run away after being defeated, apparently /s), just as the Kingdom would. This is true, and exactly what I would expect. Sylvain says it's exhausting just thinking about it, and Ingrid reminds him that they're doing this to bring peace to Fodlan.
Dimitri says that if the Empire and Kingdom can't coexist, then there's no choice but to fight. Sylvain agrees, since it's obvious what'll happen to Faerghus if Adrestia is left to do what it wants.
Rodrigue is impressed with everyone's resolve, and says the future of Faerghus is bright. (That great dad energy again!) He says that when the war's over, the king's the one who will get labeled as the invader. (That is usually how things work in history.) Felix gets mad and tells him not to put everything on Dimitri. Rodrigue tells him that his duty as the Shield is to support the king. Felix scoffs and says that's obvious.
Cut to Shez and Rodrigue alone. He's up late doing strategy work, so as to make things easier for Dimitri. They both comment on Dimitri's workaholic tendencies, and Rodrigue says Lambert was like that too.
Interesting: Lambert also became king at a young age. Shez asks if Dimitri is that much like his father, and Rodrigue says they'd be hard to tell apart if they were in the same room together now. (D'awww) He does add that Lambert apparently had a shorter temper, but that they're overall birds of a feather, unlike himself and Felix.
Shez says that Rodrigue and Felix actually are pretty similar (they actually are, once you get past Felix's tsundere-ness), with how they both take initiative on important matters. Rodrigue is flattered, and tells Shez to say that to Felix as well, lol.
He says Felix is a lot like him, but in ways he'd hoped they wouldn't be. Shez asks what he means, and Rodrigue says both he and Felix need some greater purpose in life. Rodrigue devoted himself fully to supporting and serving Lambert, and when he died, he lost his reason for living, and had to search for a new one. In the end, he renewed his devotion to Lambert by seeing through a promise he made. Shez asks what that promise was, and Rodrigue says that he was to set Dimitri back on the proper course if he ever strayed from it.
(The feels! If you've forgotten, this is a direct callback to Azure Moon. Rodrigue's promise was expressed/recalled when he died protecting Dimitri after Gronder.)
(...Wait a minute...)
Rodrigue says he won't be here forever, and he's glad Dimitri has friends like Shez. Shez says they feels like Dimitri's the one helping them, not the other way around.
Oh man. Rodrigue says it's not enough to simply stand by Dimitri's side and support him; he "needs someone to grab his hand and pull him in the right direction."
In other words....
Tumblr media
[Squeeing noises]
Shez asks if Rodrigue doesn't think he can do that, even with Gustave's help. Rodrigue says he and Gustave are just Dimitri's retainers, and so can't see Fodlan through his eyes. But Shez stands on equal footing with him as his friend.
(Ugh, that line immediately jerked me out of my happy zone. I'm outright starving for any kind of Dimileth crumbs at this point.)
They talk a bit about Shez's background, and then Arval comments that Rodrigue is a true man of character and a wonderful person. (Agreed!!) Then Rodrigue asks for Shez's thoughts on how to stage an ambush, and we fade to black.
I enjoyed this scene with Rodrigue immensely, but it's giving off the same vibe as his late-night conversation with Byleth before Gronder, and we all know what happened there. Should I be worried?
This chapter was very much a mixed bag. The paralogue was great, there were some good side battles, and there's the emotional moment with Dimitri about his stepmother and this moving conversation with Rodrigue. The main battle was fun to play but abysmal in terms of executing the drama the narrative was trying to build, and the attempts to "both sides" this conflict continue to be infuriating, if not outright insulting to my intelligence. [Shrug]

here is an interesting and cool story i am sharing because it is my blog and i want to talk bc i like talking and my brain said "too much" and i'm IGNORING IT, when i was in preschool which is like. 4yo stage. when i was 4 years old there was this bully in my preschool called Veronica and she was mean to me ALWAYS and i was having my 5th birthday party, was the plan, and "you can only invite FIVE friends" (because i had 4 siblings at the time so there were already a lot) and so there was my best friend meagan and my future husband sam (he was not aware he was 5yo me's future husband and in fact he never found out about it because as I recall, he did not come to my party) and two more friends i don't remember the names of but one of them was probably the one with the long hair, and I invited veronica.
"Are you sure? Isn't she mean to you?" my mum asked. My sisters thought I was being silly. My brothers thought I was deluded.
"What's she going to do, be mean to me at my party on my birthday? She got invited to my party. That means we're friends and she's not allowed to be mean to me anymore."
mum was skeptical (she had personally called veronica the 4yo child a "no-good pooface" multiple times at this point). but it was my birthday party and i insisted. and i gave veronica the invitation (one of those pre-printed party invitations with time: date: location: on it) while we were waiting for our turn on the tyres-in-the-playground obstacle course and she said, "What?"
i feigned enthusiasm. come to my birthday veronica it will be so cool to have you there. my granny is making a bananas in pyjamas cake!
veronica came to my party. because she did not know anything about me other than the fact i could spell my own name (i think this is what upset her) (also probably that i compared her to Veruca Salt but that's just what her name made me think of yknow) -- because she did not know anything about me in real terms i sort of expected that "spending" an invite on her would be a bit of a flop. i anticipated a present i would not like. i anticipated veronica being well-intentioned but incorrect.
i opened her present.
It was a metal, rectangular-with-rounded-corners lunchbox, with hot pink sides and a fantasy forest landscape that took up a good portion of the front. The part that was not a fantasy forest was a bright, white, sparkly, unicorn.
“Oh,” I said. Then, as I realised my error, “Oh, this is so cool! I love the -” ohnoohnoohno - “trees!” ”You love fantasy things, Ingrid, this is so cool!” (This is why having older siblings is a useful thing. I recommend it. At the time I did not know what 'fantasy' was, but I said yes, I love fantasy things.)
Veronica lit up. she did not seem to notice my slip-up and she told me she had noticed me playing fairies in the water fountain with meagan (which is true but meagan understood that fairies were secretly lame actually because we were grownups who did not believe in fairies, we were just playing with the idea of them). unicorns and fairies are inherently linked. i said thank you, and then i let her beat me in musical chairs.
she was the last of my friends to leave the party. she did not want to go home. veronica thanked me for inviting her and hugged me goodbye. we were never really friends but she stopped being mean to me and occasionally we would play 'roll down the hill in these barrels' together and I kept and used her lunchbox at school for another 2 years, because she lit up whenever she saw it. and i was like HAHAHAHAHAH YOU FOOL, YOU LIKE ME NOW but also quite pleased with myself. that's my story

Hart and Hunter - Chapter 13 - Part 1
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Julian Hart
Questions carpet-bomb my brain as Halloran's words sink in, short-circuiting my ability to speak and leaving my mind blank with shock.
Before I can recover, footsteps echo down the tunnel behind Dane and Ingrid appears at his back.
"Holy shit. What just happened?" she asks, blinding us all with her cell-phone's flash.
"Was that a gunshot? Is everyone okay? Oh my God, is that blood?"
Her eyes fix on Halloran's shirt, the front of which Dane grasps in a fist.
Ignoring her, he gives the man a shake.
"Alright, you son of a bitch," he growls in his face.
"You got thirty seconds to explain."
"I'm afraid... it will take a bit longer than that... to do the tale justice," Halloran gasps, slumping against the bricks at his back and leaving Dane holding a good portion of his weight.
His face is pale in the flashlight's wan beam and his brow shines with a sheen of sweat.
"In the meantime, do you think we might move to a more... comfortable location?"
I see the gears working in Dane's head as he calculates a quick cost-benefit analysis, weighing different factors in his mind.
Coming to a decision, he releases his hold on Halloran's shirt and slips his arm around the man's back instead, lending him support.
"Fine," he says.
"Ingrid, take the flashlight. Julian, get the gun. Let's get out of here."
Ingrid leads the way out of the tunnels and Dane follows with Halloran.
I bring up the rear, feeling a little jealous and left behind.
Sure, I'm not hurt as badly as Halloran but my wrist is broken and I just learned I have a great uncle and my grandmother might be a murderer.
I could use a hug, at least.
I shove the unhelpful feelings aside as we climb the steps and emerge into the light of Lagrange's shop once more, blinking against the glare of the afternoon sun.
Somewhat to my satisfaction, Dane releases Halloran and leaves him to stand or fall on his own while he inspects the gaping hole in the floor.
"How long have you known this was here?" he asks, his voice taking on a 'trained interrogator' tone.
"Not until this afternoon," Halloran replies, leaning on the sales counter for support with one hand pressed to his shoulder.
"It was Julian that found it."
Dane's amber gaze turns my way, and I flinch.
"Funny the cops missed it," he remarks.
Ingrid, who's been busy brushing dust from her clothes and hair, rolls her eyes at him.
"Really, Dane? Did you check for trapdoors in every room when you were a cop? It was wide open and you wouldn't even have found it if not for me."
"You know my senses aren't as sharp as yours in human form," he says.
"And yours aren't as sharp as mine as a Wolf."
Stripping off his outer shirt, he tosses it to Halloran.
"Keep pressure on that shoulder. We should get you to a hospital. Both of you," he adds, glancing at me with a softer and guiltier look.
"Ah, no," Halloran protests with a grimace.
"I'd rather avoid the paperwork. It's not as bad as it looks and I can patch myself up well enough."
"So, what? We're not calling this in?" Dane challenges.
Halloran hesitates, then shakes his head.
"It's your call. Personally, I'd prefer more time to investigate the place properly, before it's trampled over and boarded up."
"We'll leave it for now," he says, closing the trapdoor and replacing the rubber mat over top of it once more.
"At least until you've explained yourself. In the meantime..."
He looks at me and rubs a hand over his jaw and again I can guess his thoughts.
Hospitals are expensive.
"Let's avoid the ER for now," I say.
"It's just a sprain, anyway. We'll have Chloe take a look and..."
"Chloe's not a doctor," he interrupts.
"And your wrist is broken, not sprained."
I frown.
"You're not a doctor, either, so how do you know?"
"Because..." he takes a breath and continues more softly.
"Because I know how to break a wrist."
I blink, taken aback and then shake my head.
"It was an accident," I say.
"But how did you not know it was me? I thought you could smell your Mate a mile off."
"Not a mile but..." Dane's brows pinch and it's clear the question is troubling him as well.
"The dust," Halloran murmurs, staring at me.
"There's probably lime in it."
I turn to the windows, catch my reflection and nearly laugh at the absurdity of what I see.
I look like I've been through a war zone.
My hair is a mess, Halloran's blood streaks my arm and stains my shirt and I'm covered in a powdery grey dust.
"Lime?" Ingrid asks.
"Like someone spilled a cocktail or something?"
"Limestone," Halloran says.
"They use it in mortar, between the bricks. When we unblocked the passageway, the dust got everywhere."
Dane frowns.
"What the fuck does..."
"Oh. I remember now," Ingrid exclaims, clapping her hands and cutting him off.
"Lime is like, calcium carbonate or something. It destroys odors, especially organic ones. See...?" she whacks Dane's arm.
"I did pay attention in school."
The corner of Dane's lip lifts a little and I get the feeling if he were in Wolf form he might snap at her, like an older pack member irritated by a puppy.
Instead, he ignores her and keeps his attention on me, appearing unconvinced by the explanation.
Meanwhile, I don't want to show up at the hospital looking like I barely survived a bomb blast and I'd like to get the rest of the story out of Halloran.
"Let's just go home for now, Dane... or to Chloe's at least, if she'll see us. She may not be a doctor, but she knows her shit. If she says I need x-rays, I'll go tomorrow, and she can treat Halloran, too. Please."
It's cheap but I sprinkle a hint of 'just take care of me' in my tone and it works.
He glowers at Halloran but nods as he pulls out his cell-phone and dials as he speaks.
"Alright, here's the deal. If Chloe's up for playing doctor, we'll go with that. If not, we visit the Urgent Care over by that animal clinic on River Street. They know not to ask too many questions there and..." he cuts off as Chloe picks up and after a quick conversation, ends the call.
"She'll help," he says, somewhat unhappily.
"Guess she's been taking some classes in first-aid."
"Handy," I remark drily.
"With friends like us."

My Little Grey (BOTGD 2 Oneshot)
(Takes place right after No Choice)
As soon as Grey and Lila stepped through the portal, the Chief quickly placed a hand on Lila's shoulder and smiled at her to silently thank her. She felt slightly better after their talk, but there was still a nag of guilt inside her. However, she couldn't think about that right now. She needed to find her mother and the council and get them to come home.
"Mom?!" she shouted running through the camp looking around for Ingrid. "Mom?!"
-----
Ingrid sat in the tent with the councilmembers around her. She silently prayed to whatever god or goddess was listening that her grandchildren and the Rebellion were successful in their plans to take back Haligan Island and to save her daughter, her son-in-law, and their men. She begged her late husband to watch over them.
"Please, Sven, please, my love..." Ingrid whispered to herself. "Watch over our grandchildren. Watch over the Rebellion. Watch over...watch over our little Grey...our little girl...and our son-in-law, Brandt...please..."
Silence was her answer. The healer was sure that the council was looking at her, but she didn't care. All she wanted was her family safe. She sighed as she listened to the silence until...
"Mom?!"
Ingrid gasped aloud at that voice. She knew that voice. She's known that voice ever since she heard her cry when she was born. It was a voice of someone calling for her mother.
"G-Grey...?" she asked herself.
"Mom, where are you?!"
Ingrid wasted no time in running...scrambling out of the tent. She flung open the tent flaps. "Grey?!" she shouted.
Sure enough, there was her daughter...her only daughter...her little Grey walking about the tent calling for her.
"Grey!!" she shouted as she ran over to her. It wasn't a trick. There was no way it was a trick.
The Chief turned at the call of her name and smiled as tears flooded her eyes when she saw who was calling her. "MOM!" she shouted as she ran toward Ingrid.
"GREY!!" Ingrid shouted gathering her daughter into her arms. "Oh my gods...my little Grey..." Tears flowed from her cheeks.
"Mom..." Grey said as she held her mother tightly. For 16 days...especially after seeing her father in her dream...she ached for her mother's embrace...to be 6 or 7 years old again...and to be held in her mother's arms...safe...protected.
"I-Is it...really you?" Ingrid sobbed.
"I-It's me, M-Mom..." Grey sobbed in return. "I-I'm here. I'm really here." There was a part of her that needed to convince herself that that was true....even after she had just reunited with her husband, her children, and her dragon. "I-I missed you so much."
"I missed you, too...so much," Ingrid said before pulling away slightly to kiss her on the cheek. "My little Grey..."
Grey couldn't help but chuckle as tears streamed down her face at her mother's pet name for her. Sven always called her his little Valkyrie. Ingrid always called her her little Grey. She then pulled away to look at her mother allowing her to see the tears on her face. "Y-You're okay, right?" she asked. "Y-You weren't hurt, right?"
"N-No...no, I'm fine," Ingrid replied shaking her head tearfully. That was so like her daughter. Grey always made sure the other was okay before worrying about herself. "I promise, I'm fine. We're all fine, but you..." she placed her hands on Grey's cheeks wiping away the tears as she remembered where her daughter had been...in captivity, "oh...my little Grey...what about you? Did they...did they hurt you?"
"I-I'm okay, I promise," Grey said. "Everyone made it...me..." The Chief's face fell as she remembered... "Brandt...Shadow...the men...we're all okay..."
Ingrid furrowed her eyebrows in concern. "What is it?" she asked quickly. "Th-There's something you're not telling me."
Grey couldn't help but laugh to herself. Of course she couldn't lie to her own mother. "E-Everyone made it," Grey said meekly, "but...Brandt...w-when we get home...I-I'm going to need you to look at him. He...uh..." The memory came flooding back...
“Brandt…” Grey breathed. She then turned to Ai glaring at her. “You leave my husband alone. He has nothing to do with this. I’m tell you the truth. I don’t anything about the new leader!”
She shrugs. "Fair enough, have it your way." She looks up at the ceiling and the Half-Breed that brought him in cracked a whip across his back, hard.
Brandt screamed as he fell forward catching himself on his shackled hands as the whip struck his back.
“NO!” Grey screamed at the top of her lungs. “Brandt!”
"Ai...the...the leader...she..." Grey said trying to force the memory of her husband...the love of her life screaming in pain out of her mind as the tears came back, "she brought me in to interrogate me, and...I wouldn't talk. So...she had Brandt brought in...and whipped him..."
Ingrid gasped as her eyes widened.
"...right in front of me..." Grey finished.
"Oh...Grey," Ingrid said pulling her daughter into another tight embrace, "my little Grey...I-I'm so sorry that happened." She hated the idea of her daughter...her baby girl experiencing something so horrible happening to her husband and their love being used against her. She hated the idea of her son-in-law experiencing such pain. Ingrid and Brandt had a rough patch in their relationship when he revealed the truth about him and her late-husband Sven...after Brandt connected the dots. When Grey and Brandt told her and Einar that they wished to continue their relationship and to move past this horrible revelation, she gave her blessing but needed time to forgive him, and eventually, she did. She forgave Brandt, and their relationship improved greatly. The thought of anything happening to Brandt made her heart ache. "I-Is he alright?"
"I-I managed to clean the wounds before they separated us 2 weeks ago," Grey said sadly, "but I would appreciate it if maybe you could--"
"Absolutely," Ingrid said quickly. "I can check him once we return home."
"Thank you, Mom," Grey said, "really."
"Anything for my little Grey," Ingrid said smiling. She wasted no time in pulling her daughter in for another hug. "Oh...I wish I could've traded places with you. My heart ached every day for you."
"I appreciate that, Mom," Grey said pulling away, "but I'm glad you weren't there. After what happened to Brandt...I-I don't know what I would've done if they used you against me too." Ai was not afraid to harm Brandt in front her to get her to talk. She shivered to think about what Ai would've done to her mother. "Besides, I'm glad my kids had their grandmother."
"I'm glad I was there for them, too," Ingrid said, "but, Grey, I have to say, you and Brandt should be very...very proud of them."
"Well, we're always proud of them," Grey said.
"No, I know," Ingrid quickly said, "but...oh...they were so strong throughout this whole ordeal. Sven...little Sven...Hroar told him that he was acting Chief since you and Brandt weren't around, and he wasted no time in trying to figure out a way to take back Haligan Island."
The Chief widened her eyes in astonishment. "Really?"
"He said his first order of business was to take back Haligan Island and to get you back on your throne," Ingrid said with a smile.
Grey didn't dare to speak as her mother continued.
"And...Dagny...little Dagny..." Ingrid said. "Sven was trying to figure out how to get help from the Rebellion--"
"Wait...what?" Grey asked quickly. "I sent word to the Rebellion the minute the attack happened. A Nix was supposed to come here."
Ingrid sighed. "Sven said the same thing," she replied, "but...unfortunately, the Nix was killed in the attack. The Rebellion never got word."
"So, that's why it took so long..." Grey thought to herself.
"So, then what happened?" Grey asked. "How did Lila find out what was happening?"
"It was Dagny," Ingrid answered. "Sven was trying to figure out how to send word to the Jaw...to here, and his options were very limited. So...Dagny personally volunteered to do it."
Grey widened her eyes as she let her mother continue. Was her mother really about to say what she thought she was about to say?
"It took some convincing on Sven's part," Ingrid continued, "but he agreed. Dagny took SkySinger and flew all the way here to get Lila."
"She flew all the here...alone?" Grey asked. "For two whole weeks?" She couldn't believe what she was hearing. While she was imprisoned in her home...while Brandt and her men were imprisoned...while Shadow was captured...Sven took over as acting Chief, and Dagny volunteered to fly on her own...to find the Rebellion.
"She did," Ingrid said. "I didn't agree at first, but it needed to be done, Grey. We didn't have many options."
"I-I can't believe it," Grey said in amazement. Of course, that left her youngest daughter...her baby girl. "And...and what about Kari? How was she?"
"She was remarkable as well, Grey," Ingrid replied. "She kept an eye on Haligan Island the whole time you were captured, and she helped Sven come up with plans to take back the island. Grey...they reminded me so much of you and Brandt."
"My kids are pretty amazing, aren't they?" Grey said with a smile.
"Well, they have amazing parents...one of them being my daughter," Ingrid said with a wink.
Grey smiled. However, there was a part of her that wondered if she...was even as amazing as her mother claimed she was...especially after what happened over the past few weeks. They had an amazing father for sure, but as for a mother...she wasn't sure. "Well, as much as I would love to stay here and talk about how amazing my husband and kids are," she began, "what do you say we grab the council and the rest of the villagers and head home?"
Ingrid couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Grey suddenly changing the subject, but she agreed that they needed to get home. Brandt was going to need those scars to be looked at, and she was itching to see the rest of their family. "Yes, I think you're right. I will check Brandt as soon as we get there."
Grey nodded gratefully.
It didn't take long to gather the councilmembers, who wasted no time in embracing her thankful that their Chief was back.
"It's good to see you again, kid," Hroar the Young said as he hugged her.
"You too, Hroar," Grey said with a smile. "Tomorrow, we can worry about the clean up and all that. I think we all need to get the rest of the villagers home, so that we can get some rest."
"Agreed," Hroar said. "We'll gather everyone up immediately." So, they went off to gather the rest of the villagers informing them that the Chief was freed from captivity and that it was time to return home.
The whole time, Grey stood there with Ingrid with their arms wrapped around each other...extremely grateful to finally be together again. She of course missed her father beyond words and wished he was there with them...but after that dream she had...she had a feeling that he was there...hugging both her and Ingrid close...grateful that the two women in his life were together again.

Azure Gleam Ch 10
Onto AG Ch 10. Slowly making my way through all the Hopes routes.
MAIN STORY
Guys, I finally made AG Ch 10. Between wisdom teeth and a concert and FE Engage and other stuff I haven't had a lot of time to actually play much.
Aegir is not leading Adrestia well. It's so funny to me that so many dads got white-washed but they still left him an idiot.
So we're starting part 2. And Adrestia has gone to shit. I guess the nobles went full maniac the second Edelgard's gone. It's really a nation of sociopaths.
Rhea just said "knaves." I love that word.
Ohhh, Rhea brought up that lack of donations that Dimitri noticed in Houses, cool call out.
And they're putting it all together. Thomas, Cornelia, Thales - I love this, you guys. Dimitri and co getting to go after the people who did Duscur. Don't get me wrong, Edelgard is the far superior villain to TWSITD. And if I had to pick between the two, I'd pick her. But given that Dimitri gets two stories, I'm glad one of them gets this.
Claude is here!??? Does this mean he's not siding with Edelgard in AG? It'll be funny if he's the smartest in Dimitri's route - again.
Oh, we get a Claude and Dimitri team up? That's pretty cool. I doubt we get to use him though.
So it's cannon now that all three (church, Kingdom, and Alliance) are all weaker put together than Adrestia as one.
I also just noticed since Adrestia went full evil, that Dimitri is morally right in invading them to rescue the citizens lamo. He's really the "good boy" in Hopes. Though, he always was if you just removed the massive trauma events.
We're going to reclaim Garreg Mach! Cool.
Pretty cool seeing Rhea, Dimitri, and Claude all talking strategy.
Claude seems like he still wants to get rid of the church. But Dimitri's too realistic about it haha. The only one not living in an anime power fantasy.
Oh, cool, got some Golden Deer members playable now. And Lorenz uses his few lines to drag Claude lol.
If Rodrigue is in the West, does that mean no Rodrigue this chapter? Big sad.
MAP/SIDE QUESTS
Haha, some random merchant just said Dimitri lifted a whole ass cart out of the mud (she only later found out Dimitri did it).
This is the only route that lets Catherine and Shamir be girlfriends. By default it's the most superior.
Ingrid's alive again 😭
Interesting fact, Sylvain's mom actually really cared about Miklain.
Dedue is worrying about Dimitri and his overly enthusiastic work ethic.
I love how Edelgard is like we must have war to end nobility and promote commoners, meanwhile Dimitri is knighting and promoting commoners left and right and no one gives a shit. Meanwhile, Edelgard can't promote willy nilly because the Empire nobles will throw a fit. I wonder if she actually bothered to learn anything about Faerghus she'd realize how different it is and how they'll solve their own issues on their own terms.
SHEZ & ASHE A SUPPORT
Shez didn't get any answers about her mother.
Shez makes peace with it by saying she still loved her mother as a good mother regardless of what past she might has had.
They make some guesses what the mom's past is.
They were happy with the journey even if the destination was a disappointment (or never happened at all)
OH! Ashe got a letter at the end! But that's their A Support. So what's in the letter?????
SYLVAIN & ASHE A SUPPORT
They're learning strategies from Loog's past battles and learning more about Loog (who's pretty mysterious).
Sylvain is impressed with how smart Ashe is.
He's also jealous that Dimitri gets a knight like Ashe and offers to "steal" Ashe, but he shoots that down saying "only Dimitri." That just makes out of AG Ashe hurt worse.
Oh! Dimitri offered for Ashe to take over the land Lonato used to rule rather than always be a knight. Ashe likes that.
Ashe fawns over Sylvain's intelligence too.
I love seeing this mentor, teacher, more mature Sylvain.
ANNETTE & MERCEDES A SUPPORT
It's their only support, but at least it's A!
Since they're both nervous about the battle, they decide to chat.
Awww, I love that we're getting some details about their time at the sorcery school together. Apparently they'd chat together till dawn.
They talk about how they've stuck together through everything. Which makes outside SB Mercedes depressing.
Haha, Annette saved Mercedes from a bandit trap, but was in such a panic that SHE fell into the trap and needed Mercedes to heal her lol.
"Everything's better with you." Annette to Mercedes.
They plan to make lists of things they want to do after the war and then will do them once it ends. (if they had this discussion and then Mercedes defects, that hurts)
That was so wholesome.
MERCEDES & INGRID A SUPPORT
Ingrid is kicking ass in training, so Mercedes brings snacks to reenergize everyone.
Oh course, it tastes amazing, because it's Mercedes.
Ingrid wishes they were as relaxed around her as Mercedes, but Mercedes says that Ingrid is kind to them in a different way (mother Mercedes is here again!)
Mercedes bring up Ingrid's brothers and how it's probably like that.
Hahaha, Ingrid says she's going to show Mercedes her affection. And Mercedes is like "where is this going?!" Poor girl probably got excited lol.
You know what I also just realized? With Dimitri in charge, Ingrid doesn't feel pressured to marry. She's just a knight and living her best life and I love that for her (and we stan a king who stans women)
DIMITRI & BERNADETTA B SUPPORT
Is it petty that I feel a bit smug about Dimitri getting an Empire support but Edelgard didn't get a Kingdom one? lol
She's sneaking about and Dimitri finds her and she freaks out. So typical Bernie support lol. Poor thing trips over crates.
OMG. Bernie is like "this is the worst" and Dimitri naturally assumes HE's the worst lamo. OMG, Dimitri, baby, no. Thankfully she clears that up.
I kinda wondered why these two got a support and it actually makes a lot of sense. Dimitri doesn't sleep and Bernie sneaks out at night, so yeah they'd run into each other.
Dimitri's not offended because her being from the Empire means she's afraid of the Kingdom's king. Fair.
Bernie thinks he's going to execute her and he calls her a valuable ally instead. That's a bit sweet, not going to lie.
Dimitri then swears by his father's name, and Bernie's like "ok, I'll tell you." It's pretty funny how sincere they both are in very different ways.
Bernie exhausts Dimitri lol.
SYLVAIN & YURI C SUPPORT
Starts with the classic "..."
They're talking about Miklain. Yuri's like the rumors about his violence seem exaggerated. Sylvain's like "naw." You have no idea how much I love that Sylvain is like captain of the "stop making excuses for Miklain club"
Yuri makes it sound like Dimitri preyed on Miklain's inferiority complex to recruit him (saying uncrested people could get a chance to prove themselves).
Sylvain's impressed with Yuri's cunning.
Man, Yuri thinks Sylvain is just waiting to kill him for some reason and has a murderous smile. But this impresses Yuri. Sylvain is like "mixed messages, dude."
SYLVAIN & INGRID A SUPPORT
Ingrid's overwhelmed by noble work, which makes her appreciate Sylvain, Felix, and Dimitri more.
Sylvain responds by . . . asking her out (well, to dinner)
Sylvain said that they're "basically family" and said Felix and Dimitri feel the same way 😭😭😭😭 I can't.
Sylvain says we appreciate the things that stay the same because we can't stay in the past (or shouldn't) which is actually kinda deep for an FE support convo at least
Of course it devolves into Ingrid and Sylvain bickering about him gawking at her eating lol
Hearing them talking about how much they love their friendships and how they'll always be dear to each other makes recruiting any of trio to CF just criminal. I personally find it way more cruel to recruit them away from their homes and families than to kill them (i.e. the true way to play CF in "evil mode" is to recruit most of the Blue Lions and I will stand by that)
SYLVAIN & SHEZ A SUPPORT
Sylvain feels bad that they dragged Shez into the war, and that they only reason they're even fighting it is to keep their homes from getting destroyed.
"If we fail, we'll lose everything. Our houses, our families, the places we grew up." - see this is why recruiting them to CF is actually the evil thing to do. Then they gotta deal with that guilt.
Shez, of course, has nothing at stake unlike the Faerghus people
Poor Shez doesn't know what it's like to have a home.
I had Shez deny that it's just money she's in it for. And then calls Faerghus her home. 😭😭😭😭
Sylvain is inventing weapons. We stan a genius.
This support was seriously so sweet. It made my soft spot for both characters even bigger.
DEDUE & CATHERINE C SUPPORT
I have no idea what these two will have to talk about, but I'm still excited to see it. Maybe Dedue will try to recruit her back.
Dedue is suspicious of her because she shows up to a city where only people of Duscur are living. It's sad that he's got to be that way, but I'm excited if this support gives us more Duscur crumbs.
Neither Rhea nor Dimitri let him know what she's doing there lol, she's just helping after a big fire.
Catherine points out that the church is always helping people out, plus they feel a debt to Faerghus for giving them a home after Edelgard did her usual.
Apparently Rhea "jumped" at the chance to help. No one in the church cares that the people of Duscur don't worship the same religion, they just want to help/pay their debt.
SHEZ & INGRID A SUPPORT
I feel like I unlocked a million supports, but I'm not mad about it
Dedue put Shez on ingredient shopping duty.
Ingrid is flustered getting spotted by Shez in the market though. She looks like a deer in the headlights lol.
She's fangirling over the market since it's more lively and prosperous than Galatea.
Shez asks Ingrid to go on a shopping/eating date, but Ingrid feels she shouldn't be meandering markets as a future count.
Ingrid wants to help and protect Dimitri so bad as a knight. She also brings up her farming endings too.
I had Shez offer to help Ingrid out. She even offers to be Ingrid's personal mercenary. It's kinda cute.
Shez got Ingrid to blush a bit too. Happy Ingrid is a good Ingrid (and Shez too)
DIMITRI & INGRID B SUPPORT
It's sad that they only go to B, especially since we know how badly Ingrid want to be his knight (and has a crush on him, but like, girl, I get it, no one is immune to Dimitri)
Dimitri was planning with Duscur forces - how to use their unique fighting styles and avoid in-fighting with regular Faerghus forces
Dimitri asks her about Duscur, but Ingrid's moved on, and understands that it wasn't just Duscur.
She feels ashamed for putting it all on Duscur, and is not afraid to interact with them.
Dimitri of course blames himself for not insisting harder to Ingrid, but they were both dealing with shit. Dimitri's still upset with himself for not having the right priorities.
But like, Dimitri, even Ingrid herself says they weren't allowed to see each other (fuck Rufus).
Ingrid said she wouldn't have even listened to him. But like Dimitri just wanted to blame someone, so did Ingrid. Which, never really thought about how they dealt with it in a similar way before.
Dimitri takes her to a Duscur run Inn so help bridge the gap. She thinks she can do it with Dimitri there to help her out.
The character growth. Man, this is another missing discussion from AM that AG blessed us with. I swear AG doesn't have a single bad or boring or unnecessary or repeat support (no I'm not biased, why did you ask?)
INGRID & FELIX A SUPPORT
Felix is handing out compliments. Sound the alarm.
Aww, Ingrid has a rough battle, and Felix is worried about her.
Ingrid had Glenn's spur with her. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 She says that helped her through the battle 😭😭😭😭.
Felix is obviously confused and worried that Ingrid is relying too much on remembering the dead, but Ingrid argues it can be a strength too. And Felix . . . AGREES.
GUYS 😭😭😭😭 Felix is growing up. 😭😭😭😭 He's understanding that his views aren't the only ways to exist. 😭😭😭😭
He tells her to visit Glenn 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 OMG, guys, he's encouraging her to keep using Glenn's memory as a source of strength and hoping she'll visit his grave and give him flowers.
Guys, he's not only understanding and accepting that people feel differently, he's ENCOURAGING them to continue using that opposite way because it works for them. Guys, he needs a cookie or something.
Ingrid is just that powerful.
Ingrid wants Felix and Dimitri - Rodrigue, Sylvain, and Gustave - and everyone to come visit and just have a festive time near his gravestone. Haha, Felix gives in too.
SHEZ & DEDUE A SUPPORT
Dedue commanding soldiers. We love to see it.
The people of Faerghus are warming up to Dedue 😭😭😭😭, the wounds of the past are healing (the soldier's mom died in Duscur)
GUYS. DEDUE ARGUED BACK. The soldier gave Dedue shit, and Dedue stood up for himself. OMG. He gets a cookie too!
Both Felix and Dedue showing real growth back-to-back supports, I can't . . . 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Shez called Dedue her friend. 😭😭😭😭 Says that's why she's happy for him, because they're friends. 😭😭😭😭
Shez is determined to prove herself. Dedue says she doesn't have prove herself, that he trusts her.
Shez asks if Dedue really does despite her powers. Dedue doesn't deny that he's concerned about the powers, but it doesn't define Shez.
Haha, Dedue still adds in that if Shez ever did turn on Dimitri, he'd cut her down. Which, yeah, that tracks, which Shez agrees.
DEDUE/INGRID/FELIX PARALOGUE
3 of my favorites in one paralogue about the tragedy of Duscur. Yes please (they're also fully leveled up so I'm not broke!)
Everyone is down in the dumps because they're near where the attack took place. Probably a bit awkward with that trio.
Guys, we're in Duscur, it's exciting.
Aww, Dedue is telling Ingrid she doesn't have to fake being happy while their (because he knows about Glenn).
They're fighting Duscur :( having to put down a rebellion. Not everyone wants peace with Dimitri.
Dimitri keeps coming back in attempt to continue to make peace.
Oh, so the leader of the insurrection lead the group who killed Lambert and Glenn. This is intense.
They aren't allowed to kill him because they need information, but Ingrid wants to kill him, but won't.
Haha, that's why they didn't take Dimitri, well why he didn't go. Dimitri trusted them to handle it.
Felix said king, not boar everyone.
I can't wait to see the end of this paralogue.
Oh, we're rescuing Duscur soldiers? Glad Ingrid is a pegasus knight. She can zip around fast.
We're not killing, just subduing.
Ingrid requested this assignment to help her move on from the past.
Ingrid and Dedue put their faith in Dimitri to figure out the motivation.
Dedue wants to stop by a childhood spot that got trampled and he's wanting to see if it recovered. Ingrid asks to join him and he does. Shez also wants to come. Felix accepts grudgingly lol.
Ingrid has shown such growth in this game. I love it so much.
It's recovered 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Dedue used to come there with his sister.
Dedue invites Ingrid to come back and keep checking on the field. Felix is just hanging back though. Typical Felix.
Felix says he's focusing on his duty to protect the same things Glenn did and Shez can say the lands or . . . well you know who and you KNOW which one I have to pick.
Felix says protecting Dimitri is the same as protecting Faerghus, and makes Shez swear not to tell Dimitri (well the boar but you know). I had Shez tease Felix big time by claiming she was going to run around and telling everyone lamo.
The Dimilix is real in this game.
MAIN MAP
So the Empire's going full scorched earth tactics.
Annnnd of course Dimitri's blaming himself for other's actions. He's getting all worked up too.
Oh, geeze, they killed all the citizens too. Shez says the Empire was always rough, but not this bad.
I still can't get over the fact they wrote themselves into a corner with Edelgard - either team up with TWSITD again or Dimitri and Rhea, so instead they just zapped her lamo.
Oh, that's cool, the map battle zone flipped spaces because the Western Church attacked.
Arval hoping to strike down TWSITD is rich since you know he's (she's, they're?) connected.
Poor Shez is worrying about her power again. I swear she's much better integrated in AG, then SB, and GW it's like why is Shez even there? They have no plotline.
I think my Dimitri is too strong guys. He just. Kills everything.
Myson escaped. Ohhh, now he's confronting Shez. And asking about Avral I'm assuming.
Arval makes a good point, that the power Shez has keeps saving lives. And brings up Dimitri's point that power isn't evil or good, it's how it's used.
Ashen Demon brought back up again. Arval really wants us to kill Byleth, hunh. Except this time I'm determined to recruit Byleth.
I wonder if Arval will eventually turn on us, esp once I don't kill Byleth. Because he really wants us to kill Byleth.
Rodrigue is back! My beloved.
Oh, hi Claude. Not sure where he stands with me right now. I vastly prefer the Claude who has two braincells.
Judith being alive again is good though.
I do like hearing about how Claude and Dimitri are making plans together to trick the Empire.
So our goal is to retake the Monastery. Makes sense.
xxxxx
