I recently got to do a poster for NYU Game Center. I had so much fun on this one. It was based on the game 'Immortality' - such a fascinating game!

DEMO (TBA) | Cast Profiles | Cast Interviews
The Muse is a 18+ slice of life interactive fiction novel set at NYU focusing mostly on the art departments in the Steinhardt and Tisch schools. Inspired by my love for shows and movies like Felicity, Fame (the show), Skins UK, and Center Stage. This will not be an accurate depiction of school life at NYU, I'll be taking lots of creative liberties.
Content Warnings: explicit language, sexual themes, substance use, violence, mention of SA
You come from a family of artists and art lovers. Your mother is a passionate curator for a small gallery in the city and your father is a sculptor and painter with a very dedicated cult following. They met when they were just starting out and have built a lovely life for themselves and their two children, you and your older brother Cameron.
Your parents have always been super supportive of you and your brother’s dreams and ambitions. They were a great source of encouragement and guidance for your brother on his path to discovering his goal to become a game designer and you on your path to become whatever you choose.
Growing up surrounded by such creativity just so happened to inspired you to want to create something of your own.
Now that you’ve graduated high school it’s time for you to head off to university! You’ve decided to leave the mid sized city that you call your hometown, and go to the big city NYC! You’ll be attending NYU more specifically, but you won’t be making this move alone you’ll be attending with your best friend Maxine!
What will you discover in your university life?
Will you solely focus on schoolwork or wind up in the raging party scene?
Will you explore new creative endeavors or solely focus on honing your craft?
With so much going on will you even have the time to possibly find your muse, or maybe even become someone else’s?

Roxanne/Robbie Sawyer: (f/m) The lead singer and guitarist of The Rebel Rejects. Ro is everything you would want in a lead singer cool, charismatic, and super talented. Don’t let their dazzling aura intimidate you though because though they may have a raging wild side they can also be extremely down to earth.
Joleen/Johnny Nielsen: (f/m) The drummer of The Rebel Rejects. Jo is the oddball of the band with a sunny exterior and twisted flower child past. They may be a sweet boho bimbo with a heart of gold, but there’s a lot more that lies behind those blue green eyes.
Delphine/Desmond Hartley: (f/m) The bassist for The Rebel Rejects. De is the super glue propelling the group forward. With high expectations from her parent, and dreams that soar even higher, success is the only option.
Rina/Ren Fukushi: (f/m) R is the best ballet dancer in this incoming freshman class, and no one would ever think to say otherwise. They’re cold and closed off, if it isn’t about ballet then they don’t want to hear it.
Everly/Everett Thompson: (f/m) Eve is a triple threat. Singing, dancing, acting they can do it all. They hope to complete their EGOT before they turn 40.
Karla Reyes: (she/her) Karla is a sophomore at NYU studying Studio Arts. Their favorite medium is watercolor on canvas. They’ve dabbled with sculpting and ceramics...until they broke up with their ex, Faye, and can’t stand to be in the same studio with them.
Faye Winters: (she/they) Fae is every bit the ethereal being they seem to be, and just as flighty. She is a sophomore majoring in dance with a minor in studio arts. She has this effortless charm and beauty that extends to her art whether its her dancing or her sculptures.
Sebastien Auclair: (he/him) Sebastien is in his third year of university, he’s an exchange student from the Paris College of Art. He is studying photography and imaging. Sebastian loves Paris, but he is excited for this change of scenery.
Maxine Matthews: (she/her)Max is your best friend in the world! Your parents are friends so you were destined to best pals since birth, thank god you actually like each other or all those shared family functions would have been really awkward. Max is funny and always has great commentary for every show or movie that you watch together. Which is why you weren’t surprised when they decided to major in dramatic writing. Some people think that you’re too close. They wonder how is it possible that you could be just friends.
Silas Walker: (he/him) Silas is your RA. As your Resident Advisor he's super helpful and friendly. You have question about the best study spots, bad professors, how to use the subway, well he's got answers. He keeps all his advisees at arms length because everyone knows RAs can't canoodle with their advisees. And that just makes it all the more enticing.

college sports au where annabeth is a star soccer player for nyu who’s dream is to eventually make the women’s soccer team and percy is the assistant coach.
I cannot believe you are making me, a person who understands all of 0 sports and played soccer when I was 8, try to write like I know anything about how any of this works. How dare you. Here you go.
I’m so mad at you.
A crooked smile should not incite such fury as what Annabeth currently felt.
But for the record, it shouldn’t make her heart flutter the way it did, either.
Both at the same time was just confusing.
“What did you just say?!” She hissed under her breath, glancing anxiously out the dark tunnel where her team waited to sprint onto the horrifically wet field— it had been raining since the night before, and Annabeth was already dreading the mud and the cold.
Well, now she would happily take that over Percy Jackson’s stupid dumb annoying crooked smile.
“I asked,” he spoke slowly, his voice patient as if he were explaining a basic concept to a child, “if you would like a kiss for luck?”
Annabeth sputtered, glancing again to ensure the rest of the team wasn’t paying attention— they were not.
Though that may have been because their star striker getting royally pissed at the NYU Violet’s assistant coach was not a novel scene.
“This—you—hitting on players is creepy!” She snapped, face red and only growing brighter as Percy leaned in to speak low in her ear.
“But hitting on girlfriends, even secret ones, isn’t.” He paused. “…Unless I missed the memo.”
Annabeth huffed, tugging on the hem of her jersey as nerves about the upcoming game were replaced with nerves about the stupid man in front of her referring to her as his girlfriend.
It was a new development, and one that made her feel insane to think about for more than ten seconds at a time.
“So…?” Her boyfriend (boyfriend?!) pulled back just enough that she could see his stupid terrible grin, “What do you say?”
The poor hem of Annabeth’s jersey was now a bunched up mess in her hands, twisting in her fists without her even noticing. “If we win—“
“When.”
“If!” She heaved a breath, “Then maybe I will think about giving you a celebratory kiss. But we’re going to lose, so it doesn’t matter.”
Percy’s grin didn’t waver, “No, we’re not. We’ve been over their weaknesses, know their plays— and everyone is gonna be playing their best with the club scout out in the stands.”
Annabeth groaned, “Don’t remind me!”
“Not to mention, the best center forward on this side of the continental US.”
“The best center forward in the world.” She muttered, though there was doubt in her voice, her usual confidence shaken by the fact that the opposing team had won every game against the Violets for the past 3 years.
“‘Atta girl.” Percy knocked his forehead to hers, their eyes meeting, “Give them hell. Especially so I can get that kiss.”
He dodged out of the way of Annabeth’s fist, laughing as he jogged through the tunnel to the sidelines to join their coach. Annabeth forced a deep breath, and turned to the team to give a pep talk that would rival any pre-battle hype speech in the history of the universe.
And when they won, covered in mud, 2 to 1, Annabeth Chase, center forward, star player, flashed a grin at Percy Jackson, assistant coach, new boyfriend, the promise in her eyes meeting the excitement in his. Who knew when they’d tell people— but while Annabeth was happy to share this and any future wins with the rest of the world, Percy?
Well, for now, he was all hers.
And their kiss behind the shuttle to the team’s hotel was nearly as satisfying as the business card with the pro club scout’s number in her hand.

IRS to go after executives who use business jets for personal travel in new round of audits
Private jets sit parked at Scottsdale Airport Jan. 27, 2015, in Scottsdale, Ariz. IRS leadership said
FATIMA HUSSEIN Feb 21, 2024
WASHINGTON (AP) — First, there were trackers on Taylor Swift and other celebrities’ private jet usage. Now, there will be more scrutiny on executives’ personal use of business aircraft who write it off as a tax expense.
IRS leadership said Wednesday that the agency will start conducting dozens of audits on businesses’ private jets and how they are used personally by executives and written off as a tax deduction — as part of the agency’s ongoing mission of going after high-wealth tax cheats who game the tax system at the expense of American taxpayers.
The audits will focus on aircraft used by large corporations and high-income taxpayers and whether the tax purpose of the jet use is being properly allocated, the IRS says.
“At this time of year, when millions of hardworking taxpayers are working on their taxes, we want them to feel confident that everyone is playing by the same rules,” IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel said on a call with reporters to preview the announcement. Tax season began Jan. 29.
“These aircraft audits will help ensure high-income groups aren’t flying under the radar with their tax responsibilities,” he said.
There are more than 10,000 corporate jets in the US., according to the IRS, valued at tens of millions of dollars and many can be fully deducted.
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, passed during the Trump administration, allowed for 100% bonus depreciation and expensing of private jets — which allowed taxpayers to write off the cost of aircraft purchased and put into service between September 2017 and January 2023.
Werfel said the federal tax collector will use resources from Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act to more closely examine private jet usage — which has not been closely scrutinized during the past decade as funding fell sharply in the last decade.
“Our audit rates have been anemic,” he said on the call. An April 2023 IRS report on tax audit data states that “continued resource constraints have limited the agency’s ability to address high-end noncompliance” stating that in tax year 2018, audit rates for people making more than $10 million were 9.2%, down from 13.6% in 2012. And in the same time period, overall corporate audit rates fell from 1.3% to .6%.
Mike Kaercher, senior attorney advisor at the Tax Law Center at NYU said in a statement that the IRS should also revisit how it values personal use of corporate aircraft, beyond just how flights are reported.
“The current rules allow these flights to be significantly undervalued, enabling wealthy filers to pay much less in taxes than fair market value would dictate, and it’s within the IRS’ authority to revise these rules,” Kaercher said.
Werfel said audits related to aircraft usage could increase in the future depending on the results of the initial audits and as the IRS continues hiring more examiners.
“To be clear, that doesn’t mean everyone in a high-income category partnership or corporation is evading or avoiding their tax responsibility,” Werfel said. “But it does mean that there’s more work to do for the IRS to make sure people are paying what they owe.”"

I went to a really cool games exhibition tonight at the NYU Game Center (No Quarter) and it's been such a long time since I've been surrounded by games that exist in the physical space, or utilize the medium of being an installation, that like it pumped me up!!
Everest Pipkin had a browser-based solo journaling game but it was displayed all over the room on vintage monitors on office desks like it was incredibly Kentucky Route Zero in vibes IN PERSON. There was a funky Warioware-esque alt-controller game, a 2 player game projected on both sides of a massive screen dividing the two players, and a funky tower with bells i couldn't actually get to. Just amazing, bespoke stuff!
Among a lot of things, I forgot that the pandemic took from me a real love and expertise in the physicality and space of games. I just I missed it so much, I've solely made for the digital the past 4 years I really need to make for the physical again or else I might explode. I have a miniatures tactics game I want to make and the core idea is Light and Shadow, something very difficult to emulate easily (and cheaply) digitally, but uhhhh fuck it?? Maybe I need to make a thing that's true experience is only achievable IRL again

Under the Midnight Moon
It had been raining for three days at the ironically named Camp Sunny Day, and TK was miserable. The campers had arrived on a gray, drizzly Sunday and spent their first three days of camp sitting around in the rec hall or their cabins playing endless board games and getting up to trouble. Who could blame them? TK was so bored he was itching to raise hell himself. This was not what he signed up for when he’d taken the job of camp counselor.
In fact, one reason TK’s mother had pushed him to apply for the camp counselor job was to keep him out of trouble. The other reason was so that he could keep an eye on his little brother Jonah, who Gwyn had reluctantly agreed to let go. His mother had no reason to worry. First, because they were all trapped in close quarters with no privacy. Second, because of TK’s stick-in-the-mud, by the book co-counselor, Carlos.
Any time TK even hinted about finding creative ways to have fun, Carlos gave him a withering look and shook his head. “Did you even read the counselor manual, TK?” he’d ask.
The answer to that was no, of course, but Carlos didn’t need to point it out.
He should have known the entire summer would be a bust when his now ex-boyfriend, who was supposed to be his co-counselor, broke up with him and jetted off to Europe with his new boyfriend. Although new boyfriend was a stretch — apparently Alex had been cheating on TK since winter break. Instead of spending the summer looking at Alex in an adorable counselor uniform, or better yet, his bathing suit, TK was stuck in a rainy, miserable hell with eight 7-year-old boys and the most boring man on the planet.
At least Carlos was nice to look at, but even that seemed like a cruel joke.
TK tried to get to know his co-counselor but every time he tried to make small talk, Carlos gave him one-word answers. He’d been stuck in a cabin with the man for three days and all he knew was that Carlos was from Texas and he had just finished his sophomore year at NYU, where he was a double major in Latin American Studies and Public Policy. TK couldn’t help but wonder if Carlos’s reticence had anything to do with the pride t-shirt TK had worn the first day or the rainbow bracelet he wore all the time. Carlos was from Texas, after all.
After breaking up another fight over alleged cheating in Monopoly Jr, TK looked at Carlos and said, “I can’t take it anymore. We have to find a new game or something. I’m going to head over to the rec hall and see what else they have collecting dust on the shelves.”
“We should all go over to the rec center, if you’re going. I’m not supposed to be in charge of more than four kids at one time.”
TK rolled his eyes. “Listen man, I need just a few minutes alone, ok? I feel like I’m coming out of my skin. If you want to take a break after I get back, I’m totally cool with that.”
“All right,” Carlos said reluctantly, “you can go, but please hurry.”
"Can you chill? It won't take very long and hopefully I'll come back with something new to keep these kids occupied."
Carlos pressed his lips together and said nothing as TK walked out of the cabin.

ohhh boy you picked some doozies.... 1. the character everyone gets wrong
I'll be honest and say Shauntal. I've been a fan of her for like ... over a decade and it does get tiring reading the same things over and over again. No, I don't think her career is writing fanfiction smut of her friends. If that makes me boring, I don't care.
Given everything I've read about her in the manga, core games & Masters, she likes writing about the bonds between people and their Pokémon, and children really like her books. She likes interviewing people. She likes to travel. She loves observing Pokémon battles. That isn't to say she doesn't have more adult-centered books (I like to think she delves into horror, mysteries, fantasy, maybe the occasional romance).
She inspired me to pursue my interests in college, because the trainers she meets inspire her and wants to share their story. What's a writer if not writing from your own experiences to give it a more human quality? If she wants to write smut of whatever on her spare time, sure, a lot of people do and there's nothing with that. But, there is a difference between seeing it as a career (which it can be!) or just the butt of a joke.
On the other hand, I do like when people show her asking her fellow Elites to look over her work. I think getting a second or third opinion on anything is great, and if she's writing a biography or dramatization of an experience they most-likely willingly shared with her, then they'd probably want to proofread it.
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Listen, I don't want to call it hate or anything but I'm waiting for the day someone can make me like Burgh again. Or the Submas. Or Caitlin. I still adore seeing fanart of them, though. Have fun and I'll admire it! I've just had a lot of negative fandom experiences in the past decade that I'll just stick to headcanoning them on my own time. (like Burgh attending NYU/Castelia University and selling his art at the parks, I really like that idea)
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Grimsley still gambling in Alola 😭
Hawaiʻi, the state Alola is based on, has a near-total gambling ban in the same fashion as Utah. That isn't to say illegal gambling isn't an issue, lawmakers are trying to legalize it to regulate it. If canon doesn't matter, then whatever, but I see a lot of people really reiterate someone's characteristics and etc based on the manga and anime. IDK why you wouldn't for the place they are living in. They don't even allow online sports betting or have a state lottery, so I don't think him at the slots or buying scratchers post-BW life makes much sense unless he's traveling. I wouldn't put it past him to get around all of that though, and I have read those stories (mostly in Korean). But, I truly believe he stayed in Alola to better himself, and he'd get his fix at the Battle Tree anyway since battling matters astronomical loads more to him (only second to his Pokémon). The less vice opportunities you have, the better I think, and that man has been through rock bottom TWICE, so I prefer to see it this way. Something something that tumblr post that said if he can't have hope why should I, etc etc.
With that said, I don't think he willingly ended up in Alola. In all his dialogue, it's implied he basically washed up there after surfing with no real direction. In Masters, he was invited but it's been said a lot the game is an alternate universe. Though, it's still worth the consideration. But, I don't think he ever intended to make it back on land.

Chess made of dice with national types. China, the middle of the twentieth century.
Bone, carving, velvet; textiles, cardboard.
Dimensions: king height - 7.5 cm, pawn height - 5 cm; board - 35x30 cm, box - 32x19x7 cm.
Minor traces of living.
Chinese Xiangqi chess is first mentioned by Nyu Senzhu in the collection "Xuan Guai Lu" ("Essays on Miracles from the World of Darkness", 1st floor. IX century, Tang Dynasty). In xiangqi, the figures do not move along the fields, but along the lines and are placed on the points of intersection of lines ("points"), a total board of 9 vertical and 10 horizontal lines contains 90 points. The moves of the pieces are also different, in syangqi there is also an additional "cannon" piece that moves like a rover, but can beat an opponent's piece only if there is another piece between it and this piece, through which the cannon "jumps". The center of the sianqi board crosses the "river", which affects the moves of some pieces. Murray traces the characteristic features of the syangqi (the movement of figures by "points", the appearance of a cannon) by the end of the XIII century. From syangqi, in turn, came the Korean game of Changi, which in the main details coincides with the syangqi (one of the differences, for example, is the absence of a dividing "river"
