pairings: alfie solomons x feminine reader

alfie masterlist
The room was silent, apart from the simple violin playing in below the stage and the subtle whispers from the audience.
The theatre was set into three separate layers, the bottom layer could reach right up close and who's view point is mediocre depending on which row you're seated in, then there was seating above the bottom which was slightly further away from the stage but in most people's opinion is was the best option and you could still get a good view of the stage, those seats are usually for more privileged, richer folk and lastly another layer of seats were set above the middle rows and on those rows, you could see everything.
The entire stage, the performers who were playing the music, the whole audience and you were accompanied with a cushion, these seats were the most expensive and only a select few would be sitting there.
His sciatica hadn't been treating him well as of recent, and so he couldn't wait to finally sit down to release some of the pain.
Alfie was seated in a chair on the second and middle layer, the hosts knew of him and were careful to not set him off and offered him a free of charge visit but he refused, he payed for his seat and tipped each worker kindly.
Unfortunately, the theatre wouldn't allow dogs and so Alfie had to leave Cyril at home with Ollie.
Suddenly, the music began.
The violins were in harmony and the piano was calming as each note was slow, keeping in rhythm with the other instruments.
The curtains drew back and the stage was exposed, it was empty for a few moments until a woman appeared.
She entered on the tip of her toes, her shoes supporting her and keeping her well balanced. The fabric of her costume was white and thin, from her waist and above it was merely lace with a thin layer of fabric underneath to conceal anything that the performer wouldn't want to be exposed.
She was ethereal.
Her dark, curled hair was neatly put up to prevent distraction or hazard, but it seemed she couldn't be torn away from her choreography.
She kept her hands straight above her head as she spun, she had finally perfected her pirouette that she spent weeks on.
Her heart raced as the audience clapped at her talent, she glided across the stage as the music lead her through the routine she had been non-stop practising for the last three months.
Alfie stared at her in amazement, he was too distracted by her that he hadn't noticed the scent of nicotine until he took in a large breath.
He sighed and spoke up in a whisper, "What are you doin' 'ere, Tommy?"
"I've just come to watch some entertainment, I didn't know you were interested in ballet."
Alfie tore his eyes away from the stage and looked towards Tommy, even though he didn't want to take his eyes off of her.
He merely hummed as a reply, "Now, why are you 'ere mate? Surely it can't be 'o see a stranger spin on a fuckin' stage."
"It's the Italians, they-"
"Business? Nah, I'm not talking 'bout it 'ere." Alfie redirected his face towards the stage, continuing to watch the woman finish her performance.
"Fuckin' beautiful, ain't she just?"
"Sounds like you're familiar with her, Alfie."
The crowd cheered as she bowed, she was at the front of the stage, directly in the middle.
Roses and tulips were thrown towards her, she picked a few up and dissappeared towards backstage.
"She's been training for fuckin' months, she has. Told 'er to take a rest but she insisted on continuing, 'ad to carry 'er and put 'er into bed meself."
"Hmm, well she's a good performer to get herself into the west end."
The curtains slowly closed as the audience began to clear out of the exits.
"Yea, my wife's a talented little thing."

CBG, CBD, CBC, CBN, and THCV
The Healing Cannabinoids
Tumblr media
If you read my piece on the entourage effect, you know that I believe that THC is the ringmaster, but all the components of cannabis determine the “personality” of any given strain. Studies have proven the Entourage Effect with cannabinoids and terpenes. But these five cannabinoids are the major components that combine with THC to most affect your high as far as we know, as well your health and wellbeing.
Some cannabinoids, especially CBN and CBG, can bind directly to both the endocannabinoid system’s (ECS) CB1 and CB2 receptors, meaning they affect everything the ECS controls. These elements are all-important to the way any given cannabis strain or concoction affects you.
There are over 100 cannabinoids. We have no idea what most of them do, but the ones I selected are considered the most important.
CBG (cannabigerol) is the “Mother Cannabinoid” —THC, CBD, CBC, and CBN (and all other cannabinoids) began as CBG.
CBG’s anti-stress, anti-anxiety, and antidepressant effects are fantastic, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are numerous studies about CBG that indicate that it is as good as or better than CBD for pain, anxiety, inflammation, sleep disorders, etc. —all CBD’s effects but even better. It also provides better relief for sufferers of intestinal disorders, like IBS, GERD, and Crohn’s disease. We will have to wait and see everything CBG does, because the THC and CBD study focus has been taking the lion’s share of interest before now, but CBG is the rising superstar.
CBD (cannabidiol) is a cure-all kinda medicine that continues to show positive effects in more and more conditions all the time. I have a personal affinity for CBD + THC therapy, as it substantially healed two discs in my neck, and turned my degenerative disc disorder around. I still can have bouts of pain, but compared with living with hearing and feeling bone-on-bone grinding all day, every day? I’m in heaven. Another attribute of CBD, is that it’s a THC antagonist. That means it can inhibit and regulate the uptake of THC, and that has two great purposes. If you’re a beginner stoner. I always recommend everyone get a CBD vape whether you’re a beginner or an expert stoner. If you get too high, feel THC-induced anxiety, or panic, just a few puffs of CBD, and you’ll be relieved. But because CBD has all these great benefits of reducing tension, anxiety, and depression, one puff is just a great additive to any high. Antagonistic CBD also stretches THC’s effective period from 4 hours, to 6-8 hours during sleep.
CBC (cannabichromene) may be up to 10 times more potent than CBD for treating stress and anxiety and also has significant anti-inflammatory, pain-reducing, antiviral, anti-tumor, and bone-growth-stimulating properties. But the potential CBC has that excites me most, is that could be immensely useful in promoting the growth of new brain cells.
As an old fart with diminishing mental acuity, that’s obviously interesting to me.
CBN (cannabinol) is the first known cannabinoid, but one of the least-studied of these five, and is the only one that isn't derived directly from CBG, but it's what THC turns into when oxidized. Unlike CBG, CBD, and CBC, it’s mildly intoxicating. Like all these cannabinoids, it relieves pain and inflammation.
The best-known effect of CBN, is that it makes you sleepy. Anyone who’s ever smoked an old joint they found in a drawer might remember that it didn’t get them very high, but it made them ready for nappy time; that’s because much of the THC has degraded into CBN.
What excites me most about CBN, is that behaves like THC in many ways, and it has been found to bind with CB2 receptors. This ability may lead to new treatments for neuropathy (no treatment currently exists, and I suffer from neuropathic pain caused by sciatica), as CB2 receptors appear in inflamed areas in the body.
CBN therapies will be able to treat virtually any inflamed site, so it has the potential to address other areas that are difficult to treat, such as gastrointestinal system disorders like GERD, Chrons Disease, and diverticulitis.
CBN could be a true wonder drug.
THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin) is another under-studied cannabinoid that’s attracting attention, for good reason.
THCV is a very effective appetite suppressant. It’s also the opposite of CBN, making people quite energetic. Being a bit tubby, I’m really excited by it. I’ve had a rare strain that contained THCV, and can attest to these properties.
But more excitement is to come from THCV, as it has shown to treat a lot of other diverse conditions, including Parkinson’s, psychosis, bacterial inflammation, acne, fatty liver disease, pain, and epilepsy.
I can’t wait to see what other benefits THCV has! Durban Poison is a common strain that contains high levels of THCV, but I’ve never had as good an effect from DP as I did the first (forgotten-named) high-THCV strain I tried.
Entourage Effect- all these cannabinoids work together in ways that increase their effectiveness when combined with THC, and can’t be recommended enough for ailments and moods your ECS controls. There aren’t any drawbacks, except you probably won’t want to ingest CBN until bedtime.
Any and all of these cannabinoids can be ingested individually a half hour before imbibing your favorite weed. THC don’t care where or how you get these into your system, but as always, these other cannabinoids work best with THC. There are vape pens with 50/50 CBD & CBG, but none that incorporate CBC or CBN that I’ve found, yet, but they gotta be out there.
I’m looking for a good supplier of isolates of these cannabinoids; pure, plant-derived organic powders. My intent is to mix them with honey and select terpenes to put into beverages. I’m going to make a daytime version with THCV, a nighttime version that includes CBN, and a neutral one with neither. When I find that supplier I’ll paste a link here, and I'll also let you know if my hypothesis that taking these cannabinoids orally, followed by consumption of THC products a short time later works effectively.
Remember: cannabinoids every day help keep the doctor away!

I’ve been pretty MIA and it’s cause my entire camera roll is pictures of Charlie’s gnarly butt holes. So last I posted he had to have surgery to get patched up. The big hole right over his hip started coming open within 12 hours and frankly we weren’t surprised. But it gets worse lolol he had surgery Friday, and then at 10 PM Sunday Georgia got into his antibiotics and ate them all 🙃 so that was a call the evet, run to rite-aid for hydrogen peroxide, induce vomiting, clean up nasty vomit, run to my sister’s for bread to help soak up any hydrogen peroxide left in her tummy, and not get to bed till 12. She’s fine and didn’t even have an upset stomach 🙄 Which leads us to Monday morning. Charlie wakes me up at 7 to go pee, I come back in and back to bed till I have to get up at 8 for work. He comes up and starts bugging me as soon as my alarm goes off, I take off his muzzle for him to get water. I fall asleep again by accident. Wake up 10 minutes later to him having chewed open both holes completely. Back to the vet. Redo the entire surgery. The hip bone hole starts opening up again right away. Okay we’ll just have to treat it like an open wound. Two days later the second hole starts to open as well. So for right now we’re treating both as open wounds, just keeping clean and dry and continuing antibiotics. Oh and during this entire thing I’m having an awful sciatica flare up and actually ended up going to the ER last friday cause my leg started going numb. I’m fine and feeling better but good lord can a bitch get a break around here??? Gross pics under the cut if anyone wants to see the progression of nasty. The last picture is from just now. Checkup on Monday to reassess. 2023 sure is off to some kinda start.

Sunday Evening
There are about ten different things I should be doing right now, but I am the queen of procrastination so here I am on the ol' blog. It was a very long week. I have such mixed feelings about the job. The people are absolutely wonderful. The work is interesting and beneficial. But the schedule is...unpleasant. Well, I say that as a person who doesn't really have a schedule. I had to ask several times if I could maybe know my work days/hours at least a week in advance. I'm there 8.5 hours but take a mandatory 1 hour unpaid lunch. So I work 7.5 hours most days, though I worked just 5 on Saturday. They are long days. I suppose I had the idea that part-time would be 20-ish hours a week. Looks like the plan is to work me just under the cut off between part/full time. Not having a set schedule in advance makes it really hard to plan any sort of normal life. For example, the Edgewaters have been asking me if I'm off on Feb. 10th to celebrate the grandgirl's 6th birthday. It's 12 days away and I still can't tell them yes or no. How can I make a doctor's appointment or even schedule a haircut? You don't call anywhere around here and get in quickly, so it would be nice to have, say, a month's schedule to reference when trying to make an appointment. I get the impression that it's not looked upon favorably if you throw a wrench in the works and request particular days off. I guess I'll ride it out and see if it gets better, maybe because I'm the newbie they're just seeing if I survive before locking me into the work calendar? Every time I asked, no one seemed to think it was a big deal. It's a big deal to me, I like to plan my life and get my ducks in a row - not knowing my works days/hours ten or twelve days out rattles me. Really hoping that part gets better.
.I'm a minimum of twenty yeas older than everyone at work, thirty years older than most of them. I feel like a fossil. Actually, the director is around my age, but she has put in her retirement notice. So I show up in my old lady glory and try not to grunt or groan when I get up from shelving books on the lowest shelf. I've had to move boxes, tables, racks of chairs, wood and glass bookcases and pretend that my sciatica isn't flaring up. There is a lot of ibuprofen involved. This is how I feel there...
Tumblr media
but they're all nice to me because their mamas raised them to respect their elders. I was at the circulation desk one morning and talking to another employee who is not yet thirty. I realized that I could easily be her grandmother.
Tumblr media
The eternal optimist in me says to keep plugging away and everything will settle into place and I'll just be the nice old lady at the library. The part of my brain that always yells, "FLEE! You don't belong here!" is screaming in my ear. Luckily, the eternal optimist occupies about 90% of my gray matter, so she usually wins. Onward, onward, onward. I mentioned that on Saturday I was off work at 2 o'clock. Shortly after that the Edgewaters came over and brought their pizza oven. That was a treat. They made gourmet pizzas for our dinner and we had a wonderful visit. Little Miss kept me busy with Barbies and books, and I plied her with cupcakes. They left today around 3 o'clock and the mister and I are sitting here now wondering if we even want to bother with dinner tonight. I'm ready for bed. The workweek is staring me in the face and I'm not ready. Have I whined enough? I swear I'm not unhappy, just tired. I'd give my right arm for 5 hour work days (like Saturday) instead of 8.5. Mickey has been amazing - actually cleaning and cooking! I have no reasons to complain. So I should probably shut up. That said, we're moving forward and starting to plan a 40th anniversary trip. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll grant me unpaid leave. As a part-time employee I don't accrue vacation days, so I guess we'll see how all of that plays out. Yikes.
I'm boring myself sick with this post and I can't imagine that it's been at all interesting or entertaining to read. I'll wait a couple of days and try to post something worth reading. There have been amusing incidents at the library, but I hesitate to write about any of it because this is a small town and my name is on the blog. I'll have to find my way with that. I certainly wouldn't name names or embarrass anyone. Oh well, I'm off to ready my clothes for work and pack a lunch. I'll try to keep a Mary frame of mind. No one I work with would get that reference.
Tumblr media
I'm so old.
*sigh* Until next time - stay safe, stay well. Sending out loads of love. XOXO, Nancy

Pope Francis returned to the Vatican on Saturday morning after a three-day hospital stay during which he was treated for bronchitis, raising new concerns about the health of the aging pontiff, who had major surgery in 2021 and now often uses a cane or a wheelchair because of knee problems and sciatica.
Interesting that he doesn’t just pray to get better….almost like that doesn’t work?

woke up in the middle of the night with sciatica-like pain, oof ouch oof
(late night babble warning)
(it's an injury where the nerves running down your waist get like, pinched by a slipped disc(?) cus u slouch too much or pull something basically, it usually goes away on its own with stretching and regular physical activity)
and I am actually having some difficulty moving due to the pain 😬 though I'm thinking that'll probably go away in the morning...
debating if maybe possibly I should try looking for another job so I can snag health insurance of some kind, and maybe some more income...?
cus I have a handful of things I'd like to save up for that I can't really afford just by freelancing (a fursuit, video games, maybe some new music gear and clothing) and it'd be nice to be able to go to a doctor once in a while...
I'm pretty durable and most stuff I encounter I know how to treat somewhat, like i've had sciatica before and know some exercises that can treat it but like. I would definitely benefit from at least being able to walk into a hospital every so often and getting some basic treatment... as well as potential emergency care, though i'm not toooo worried about that...
I think a 4-day work week would definitely be manageable depending on the job umm. last place I worked offered health insurance if I averaged 32 hrs a week, so something like that would be ideal (just maybe not that specific job, cus it was kinda ass) I wonder if that's normal or if most places only offer it with full-time...?
Full-time would probably be limiting and unnecessary considering I'm a fairly skilled artisté and entertainer and can probably monetize most of my passions anyway (I already do this with art) and I worry that would just be both an existential headache and make it hard to find time for said passions (though not impossible, I could also always just do them "after work" I guess)
I've worked full-time before during like. summer months between college once or twice, it was generally manageable, and I still had time for creative stuff so I'm not tooo.... worried.... if I like. HAVE to do that. but it's probably unnecessary if I can do commissions or stream for some extra cash. idk that i'd really need that extra day unless it was *required* to be elligable health insurance.
but basically, my priorities with the job would be getting health insurance, and better / consistent income. because freelancing art commission stuff is nooot consistent whatsoever... so I'm wondering if it's something I should start looking into now? or save it for like. when I REALLY start getting sick of the art comms. I dunno.
I think generally it's manageable rn but this lifestyle definitely has it's limitations.... I get to be my own boss but at the expense of just. oof ouch. oof.

Personal things below the cut.
Been trying to write since yesterday for Camp NaNo, but both my vertigo and sciatica are acting up at the same time (RIP, ability to walk for now). I’m just back to alternating between bed and stretches to try to alleviate any inflammation. (Also woke up to my VCD acting up, so ahaha speaking will also be minimal for now) Additionally, I got a call from my mom last night that my grandmother is in the hospital with pneumonia. >.< She’s being treated now, but we’re all on edge since it’s hard to say if she’ll pull through it.  Not really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. Between this all and Roe getting overturned, I’m in a really bad headspace overall and I’m struggling to function at all. I know I took off a few days from work already, but I don’t know how I’m going to get through this fucking week. :/ (Trying to save what time I have since I’m trying to get a surgery scheduled soon, which I’m honestly not looking forward to at all despite it being necessary.)

Sciatica
I worked laying on my back on the living room floor for 10 months. I tried the chiropractor, stretching, tons of ibuprofen, tons of tramadol, acupuncture, decompression treatment, water aerobics, swimming, heat compress, cold compress, tons of biofreeze.
Finally called the Laser Spine Institute. Hi I have sciatica, can you help? We'll setup an appointment for you to see the doctor tomorrow, and we can get you in and out of surgery by the weekend! You'll be back to normal within a week!
What the fuck was that? Did I just get a car salesman pitch? No thanks
I found the last option...the injection. I found a doc who knows his shyt. One jab did something but three finally gave me relief that lasted 3 years.
It wore off. Had to find another doc on my plan, but three shots later and I finally got relief again. That was 2017. He moved down one vertebrae which was a great decision.
I stretch every morning and night now. No plopping on the couch, No running after the cat or dog, no fast twisting of my body. No heavy lifting. I treat my back like a Jenga tower, very cautiously.
I do everything I used to do, snorkel, golf, mountain biking. I don't feel the pain but sometimes I can tell it's there because of a weird throb in my leg. I'm glad the epidural works and hides the pain, even though I'm sure there's more damage happening. I live a completely normal life.
And I never want to feel sciatic pain again....I'm sticking to the shots as long as possible, they work...but they hurt like a son of B.

Sciatica Treatment In Ayurveda
Sciatica
Sciatica, commonly known as low back pain, is a widespread condition that hinders daily activities. Its annual occurrence globally ranges from 1% to 5%. This condition primarily impacts the sciatic nerve, the body’s largest nerve.
Sciatica in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, sciatica is known as Gridhrasi, characterized as a vata vyadhi resulting from vata dosha aggravation. Symptoms manifest as pain (Ruk), numbing pain (Toda), and stiffness (Stambha) in the lumbosacral region (Kati Pradesh), radiating from the back to the feet. According to Ayurvedic commentator Arundutta, vata dosha in the tendon (Kandara) causes intense pain when lifting the legs, limiting their free movement. The sciatica diagnosis often involves a straight leg raising test.
Ayurvedic treatments for sciatic pain comprise systematic approaches such as Ama pachana to reduce joint inflammations, Shodhana for eliminating deep-seated toxins, and Brahmana for rejuvenation of damaged parts or cartilages. External treatments like Dhanymaladhara, Abhyanga sweda, Patra pinda potali sweda, Sarvangadhara, Kati Vasti, and specialized internal medications collectively aim to alleviate sciatic pain. Embark on a natural path to relief. Nimba Nature Cure beckons as the best Ayurveda center for Sciatica Treatment in Ahmedabad. Experience holistic healing through authentic Ayurvedic practices. Ayurvedic Home Remedies for Sciatica
Rest: Give your body enough rest by lying on a hard bed or a thick wooden surface. This helps align the spine, reducing back pain.
Hot or Cold Compress: Apply a hot or cold compress using a clean cloth dipped in hot water or covering ice cubes. Do this 3-4 times a day to alleviate sciatica symptoms.
Lepa with Ayurvedic Herbal Mixture: Make a thick paste with aloe vera, turmeric powder, Triphala powder, and castor oil. Apply this paste, and tie a bandage to the lower back. It helps reduce local inflammation and sciatic pain.
Hot Oil Massage: After the acute pain subsides, massage the affected area with castor oil, followed by a mild steam treatment to alleviate pain.
What is Sciatica?
Sciatica is pain resulting from the compression of the sciatic nerve. This condition is linked to lower back pain that extends through the hip and buttocks down to the leg. Sciatica may impact one leg or, in severe cases, both legs. While sciatica causes intense pain, it can be treated with sufficient rest and a proper routine. In severe cases, it may lead to leg weakness and changes in bowel or bladder function, necessitating surgical intervention. Experience relief naturally at Nimba. Opt for our Sciatica Treatment in Ayurveda in Ahmedabad for personalized care and transformative well-being. Book your session for a pain-free tomorrow.
What are the common causes of sciatica?
Herniated Disks: Rupture of the cartilage between spinal vertebrae, compressing the sciatic nerve, and causing lower back pain and limb numbness.
Spinal Stenosis: Abnormal narrowing of the spinal canal, particularly in the lumbar region, exerting pressure on sciatic nerve roots and resulting in pain.
Spondylolisthesis: Extension of a spinal bone that pinches nerves, contributing to sciatic pain, often associated with degenerative disk issues.
Piriformis Syndrome: Involuntary contraction of the piriformis muscle, which, when tightened, pinches the sciatic nerve, leading to sciatica pain. This rare neuromuscular condition can occur after falls, accidents, or prolonged sitting.
What are the risk factors for sciatica disease?
Age: Progressing age contributes to spine changes, increasing the risk of factors like herniated disks and bone spurs.
Obesity: Increased body weight stresses the spine, leading to structural changes and triggering damage to the sciatic nerve.
Occupation: Jobs involving heavy lifting, long drives with heavy loads, or continuous twists and bends to the back elevate the risk of developing sciatica.
Prolonged Sitting: Extended periods of sitting without position changes can be a contributing factor for sciatica.
Diabetes: Diabetes, affecting blood sugar levels, raises the risk of nerve damage, although it’s a relatively rare cause of sciatica.
Pregnancy: Pregnancy is also a potential cause of back pain and sciatica.
It’s important to note that while proper rest can aid recovery without treatment, severe cases may require intervention to prevent permanent nerve damage.
What are the symptoms of sciatica pain?
Lower back pain
Radiating pain in the legs, worsening after prolonged sitting
Hip pain
Burning or tingling sensations in the legs
Weakness in the limbs
Numbness or difficulty moving the leg or foot
Constant and shooting pain in the legs
Sciatica typically affects one side of the limb, but in severe cases, both legs may exhibit symptoms. The pain extends from the lower back through the back of the thighs and down the leg. The specific location where the sciatic nerve is affected determines whether the pain extends to the legs as well. why am *I* always the lazy one demanding too much?! Im so fucking pissed.
My moms supposed to be dropping off my bag later that she fixed for me. I told her multiple times that I am having SEVERE sciatica pain today. You can hear it in my voice how out of breath I am just from the pain. Shes called me multiple times today and I've mentioned the pain in every phone conversation.
But then when I call to ask if she can bring me some ibuprofen she goes "well your brothers walking home so walk to his house and get it" I CANT EVEN WALK ACROSS THE APARTMENT RIGHT NOW WHAT THE FUCK. and she treated it like i'm the bad guy in this scenario so now im sitting here crying because I am in pain, nothing is helping, and my mom basically went "tough shit" because apparently asking my brother to walk an extra 5 minutes isnt fair to him
He's walking home from my moms house, which is about 5km.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 star review: Awesomeness! This spray is wonderful and it's works. I have noticed that I feel happier and recovery more quickly from stressful situations. And It's only been two weeks! Very quick results. By the end of the first day I noticed a difference in my overall well-being. I ordered every product Harrelsons Own offer. There's even a product for dogs. All three of my doggos enjoys their nightly treat. I have definitely seen a difference in them too! Since it's only been two weeks and feeling and I am noticing positive all positive effects. I look forward to what two months from now is going to feel like. I have fibromyalgia, both of my shoulders had reconstruction surgery in 2022, my left ankle has a titanium pro stop device in it. My lower back and right leg sciatica pain beyond a 9 most days. At 9:25 this morning I was honestly informed by my wonderful doctor that I have a of possible metastatic mass my sacral area and coccyx. There is definitely a mass and lesions which have causes me unbelievably amounts of pain. I am being immediately referred to a surgeon at Cedar-Sinai Medcal Center in Los Angeles. This amazing spray has helped me to not feel so down after hearing not so cool news. I recovered so quickly and I am happy with right this very moment. I know what different types of chronic pain and acute pains over the last 10 years makes one feel like. And I love all Harrelson's Own products. They are 100% helping in many positive ways. 10/10
