nothinggirl is not having a very good day. she didn't have a delicious breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee and lox bagels. she didn't go to a building that isn't an art museum with a catgirl who isn't her girlfriend. nothing transpired after what was not a date. and the corner shop did not have her favorite flavor of ramen stocked for dinner after that. it was not a great time and she is not looking forward to seeing anyone again.

ooh thank you for the ask! i love transcendental youth so much, it's the second goats album i got into- the first i listened to when i started branching out for myself after the first album i was recommended!

the best song on the album: i think amy is - to me it's a spell, just like this year. i will make it through this year if it kills me. do every stupid thing that makes you feel alive. incantations that bless us all.

my favorite song on the album: harlem roulette, i think? it's tangled up in some very sweet memories for me, and it's just so good on the ears. my pretentious answer to this is the cover of tomorrow released as a bonus track for the album in japan.

my least favorite song on the album: until i am whole just really does not fucking do it for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i'm most likely to skip it of every song on the album

the most overrated song on the album: as stated. i just don't get the until i am whole hype - i know it's a trans song to a lot of folks but it just is a #nothinggirl to me sorry

most underrated: transcendental youth itself, i think! it's so fucking good and i don't think i ever see it talked about. it's the song on the cover of the album to me.

the banger of all bangers: cry for judas fucks, and leaving it off this list would break my heart, so.

rate from 0-10: i'm terrible with numbers so this might not end up at all consistant ranking for me. 7.5 or 8? the whole album is cohesive and i love it, but there's just a handful of songs i connect with less/that mean less to me so it ranks lower for that reason.

the katniss peeta dynamic is so important to me like not everybody gets it but i do. the way peeta is consistently serving nothinggirl who’s dying all the time and can’t do one thing right but he’s soooo important to katniss who can take of herself better than anyone and would objectively have an easier go of it if she wasn’t lugging peetas ass around all the time saving him <3 but she doesn’t want to make it easier <3 like literally nobody wanted peeta when they rescued them from the quarter quell and she was like wtf guys he’s so special……. girl im sorry to inform you that nobody thinks that but you .. my fave dynamic is after she saves him in the first games and they’re walking through the woods and he’s being loud as fuck stomping around scaring off the animals and her inner monologue is like UGH HES SO LOUD HE CANT DO ANYTHING RIGHT and yet she is constantly saving his damsel in distress ass <3 loveeeeee

midnights never felt to me like an album that had anything to say, musically or lyrically. like, it wasn't released to say anything, it was released because taylor wanted to release a pop album.

wasn't into the buried giant by kazuo ishigoro he's so well regarded and it was just nothinggirl so boring to me couldnt retain any of it. also forbidden colors by yukio mishima which was kinda interesting sometimes but dragged a lot.
