Moff Gideon has this sick fascination with Mandalorian culture, traditions and art, in a very Imperial way. It is quite the definition of cultural appropriation. I think all the star wars fans out there need to listen to some sci fi podcasts, then re evaluate whether THIS is really the media you want to put your emotional investment into. Disney is such a piece of shit and they don't even hide it, just so many of us are either numb or perpetually angry to a point where it's emotionally draining. Just saying, Wolf 359 will make you ask questions that some of y'all desperately need to ask yourselves. Penumbra is hitting so many sci fi tropes and vibes but flat out doing it BETTER than Disney ever could. They're both like if Star Wars was actually as good as we pretend it is, and then better.

insane how star wars will have their environments and backgrounds all cgi/computer/whatever idk the real words. thats from a computer and not real. and it looks bad (or at least, too noticeable when they are using it) meanwhile theyre doing their best with whatever makeup department they got and THAT looks BAD AS WELL

im so sad bc they DO HAVE PUPPETS but because of the constant change from “look at this cgi guy he looks so realistic and great” (zig looked amazing ngl and those creatures on the mando planet) vs uh. whatever was going on with that pirate captain. he looked good stationary but the mouth movements for every puppetry dude has been Off

its the contrast. puppets constantly surrounded by puppets isnt distracting. cgi surroundes by cgi it all blends well together. when ur jumping from cgi to real life makeup to puppets and its all in a cgi background and its all different levels of “looking good” its too much contrast and too jarring. ur constantly comparing different techniques and at the end it just looks bad!!!

i hate how ahsoka looks thats literally it. why did they insist on her being real makeup and prosthetics (that looks bad anyway) when the cgi characters look so much better. fuck all of these new movies and shows i hate being a star wars fan. just make everything animated

I genuinely do not understand why people ship Thrawn and Eli Vanto. Like ship who you want and all, but Thrawn's tactics and thought process have always reminded me of my sister (who, incidentally, absolutely LOVES Thrawn and will randomly give me excellent monologues about him that I understand approximately 15% of), while Eli reminds me of myself (just trying to Do Life but he keeps getting interrupted by a genius who would like their emotional support human to join them in whatever they're scheming, etc).

People who know enough about their art process to make tutorials amaze me like girl how do you not slap shit together
