I must admit that I like this … well I like anything that is painted blue. Formally unveiled by Provost Patrick Prendergast and H.E. Ambassador Carlos García de Alba in the presence of the artist on the 18th of September 2015 to mark 40 years of Mexican-Irish Diplomatic Relations

I was watching a Youtube video of all the Cinematic from the new Overwatch Invasion update (cause heaven knows I ain't buying it) and I noticed at the end Ramattra has this like.. Burn? Mark?? On his chest that goes through his cape
So I downloaded Overwatch on my PC to get a look at the Wandering/Traveling Monk skins this scene is using and I noticed..
Traveling and Wandering have a lot of visual differences, most notably in the burn the originally got my attention.
Wandering has been used canonically to show Ramattra's monk days previously, in his origin story and in the Developer commentary, but interestingly the artwork in those videos is lacking that very burn
Overwatch character designers are very good at visual storytelling, especially with Omnics (I could write an essay on what they've done with Zenyatta), so I believe this burn may very well be what became the Last Straw for Ramattra, what pushed him to leave the Shambali, what caused his fall into violence and eventually Talon.
Was he attacked? Or was he attempting to protect someone else? Despite his best efforts to shield them, the shot fired right past him, scorching his metal, cutting through his cape, and taking their life...
I hope we learn more about it.

BOTD: Northern Goshawk
Photo: Andrey Gulivanov
"A powerful predator of northern and mountain woods. Goshawks hunt inside the forest or along its edge; they take their prey by putting on short bursts of amazingly fast flight, often twisting among branches and crashing through thickets in the intensity of pursuit. In some years, perhaps when prey is scarce in the north, autumn invasions may bring Goshawks well to the south of their normal range in the east and into lowland valleys in the west."

I’ve been seeing this sign since I was 7 years old. 24 years later I decided to finally pull over and take a picture before someone takes it down some day

Santa Fe Railway's MCPZ1 04, a 32-car auto train, pulls westward over the Continental Divide at Gonzales, New Mexico on Oct. 6, 1995. Leading the charge is SF30C No. 9513 (former ATSF U36C No. 8703), followed by SD45-2 No. 5810, and SDF40-2 No. 5253 (former AMTK SDP40F No. 630). At that time, you never knew what you might find along the Transcon.

In northern New Mexico/southern Colorado, the monsoon season which normally commences in July instead started at the end of May... with the result that a normally fairly arid region has been turned very green. a todos los jóvenes maestros de méxico,
to all the young teachers in mexico,
***
to all the young teachers in mexico,
i strongly suggest that you go to jalisco for this event.
Sifu Kisu is a brother and is from the same family as my brother Sifu Steve in las vegas.
this family as you know is a very strongly knit group that has a very clear understaning between each other.
and that is....
to uphold the old china tradition of learning as much as possible from different teachers in order to expand your knowledge... which ultimately is to benefit your students, the youth, the elderly your community and your standing as a community leader.
if you as a teacher are still searching for personal knowledge... as i have said in the past... you are in the lower leagues and you are wasting time.
as a teacher... your focus must to be on learning with the "clear and concrete intention" of improving society by sharing the knowledge.
do not make the error of other teachers in the past who learned for themselvse and taugh a few students ... under the illusion that kung fu has too many high secrets. this mental paradigm is outdated and inneffective. it has no value for Mother Mexico.
attend this event and present yourself and community with honor.
Sifu Kisu is not an ordinary teacher. he brings to mexico insight that is rare and valuable for the growth of the Way of Martial Virtue in Mexico.

Important, but also the racism came out here in this reply I got:
Like wtf is this person's problem. Can't even see indigenous people take pride in their roots without being racist, smh. Really be here using the derogatory and racist "indio," huh. Just proves the point in the TikTok. And the worst part is they are part of different minority groups and decide to act like a clown:
Proud indigenous Zapotec forever 🇲🇽
Fck racists and racism.

BOTD: Northern Gannet
Photo: Keith Yates
"One of the largest seabirds of the North Atlantic, the gannet is spectacular as it plunges into the sea in pursuit of fish. With a spear-like bill and spiky tail, it looks 'pointed at both ends.' Nesting colonies are on northern sea cliffs; one at Bonaventure Island, Quebec, has become a famous tourist destination. In winter off southern coastlines, the gleaming white adults may be outnumbered by brown and patchy immatures; it takes four years for gannets to attain full adult plumage."
