Fanfic Idea

Ugh! I had this idea to write a fic about what-if Marinette was evil instead of Gabriel! But now with the whole Shadybug and Claw Noir special coming, I feel I have to wait, so things like 'Good Gabriel's good guy name' and what he calls who makes heroes (currently I'm calling them champion but I don't know anything) are more accurate to the show!

Plot

Essentially, it would've been in this universe, so no Shadybug. Instead, her name would've been Miss Fortune (I've been in this fandom since the beginning, I've always wanted that name to be canon). She takes the image of a shy sweet girl Marinette Dupain-Cheng but when things don't go her way, she becomes Miss Fortune.

Luckily, Paris has a hero in its corner, the amazing Chat Noir who battles the evil Miss Fortune. However, he also has an ally in the form of Papillon, a mysterious benefactor who helps him by sending him champions.

Characters

Adrien will still be our innocent sunshine child, but he has a whole lot more on his shoulders, trying to stop Miss Fortune from wrecking havoc and eventually becoming Guardian.

As Chat Noir, he and the champion have to work together to fight Miss Fortune. I have this system where Miss Fortune has a anti-charm (like Anti-bug) and if the two destroy it, the world healing begins.

Alya is still how she is in the show. Except she despises Miss Fortune. Her blog is towards Chat instead and she insults Miss Fortune anyway she can. She wants to rid the world of Miss Fortune, unaware she's her best friend.

Chloe would be a much better person (she still has some of her original flaws, so she would be not be like Zoe), liking Adrien like a brother and treating Sabrina like a real friend. Of course, Marinette doesn't see their relationship as platonic so she targets her. This version of Anti-Bug would've have Papillon give Chloe the power of the original Ladybug miraculous until Chat decides to give her the bee miraculous to use.

Lila would've been a person who always told the truth and while not all of her stories from canon were true, she does have some real amazing tales. This attracts Adrien to her (again platonically) much to Marinette's chagrin. One story is that Miss Fortune stole her bag once and Chat Noir got it back for her. Marinette thinks Lila is lying and Chat doesn't remember Lila specifically but he does remember giving someone back their bag.

So she briefly becomes Miss Fortune to embarrass her but this just inspires her to become Volpina and her and Chat briefly work together to take her down.

Gabriel is a much better father here! He's still busy and Emilie is still dead. But he's allowed Adrien to go to school and have a less stricter lifestyle. He still misses his wife but goes on a more healthier path instead and tries to move on while helping Chat Noir as Papillon.

Zoe would've been a person who acted nice when in reality, she's a massive witch. She still has feelings for Marinette but Marinette takes advantage of these feeling instead. She assist Miss Fortune also, not liking when things don't go her way. Half of Chloe becoming akumatized episodes would be Chloe either needing the bee miraculous or her helping Chat as a champion. Zoe would play dumb when confronted but some people start seeing the truth through her and Marinette's lies.

Shipping

So Marinette likes Adrien to disturbing degrees. Finding her strange since kindergarten, Adrien at best can be civil towards her. In the Animan episode of this AU, he would've weirded out by Nino's crush on her but would've still helped him, because he's a good friend and he feels he would be a good influence of her.

He and Miss Fortune jokingly flirt with each other sometimes, but they really hate each other with a fiery passion.

Adrien is bisexual in this fic. Who is Adrien's partner? Luka. Instead of liking Marinette, he takes a shining to Adrien instead. Adrien is smitten as both himself and Chat Noir. Luka would be a frequent character in season 1. Often times, Chloe and Juleka (and sometimes Nino) would try pairing them together frequently.

Marinette used to have a crush to Luka and he used to give her a chance but with all the lying and her accidently making it clear she likes Adrien, he also can now only be civil to her.

Chloe is also bisexual. Nathaniel initially has feelings for her instead of Marinette in 'Evilluastor'. Season 1 would plenty of cute moments. Not sure I should write whether they broke up but are on good terms or have them be in a poly relationship with Marc and Kagami.

Down the line, Chloe gains feelings for Kagami. Marinette in this AU, never lets go of her mean feelings for Kagami and instead Kagami enters the scavenger hunt in 'Ikati Gozen' with Chloe, causing the two to bond. Kagami never has feelings for Adrien (but I'll say it again, Marinette doesn't see it that way).

Welcome to me watching the Paris special, this time with commentary! I watched the special and wrote down everything here as I watched it and forgot to post it cause I'm a dumbass. Also, this is long asf, in fact, it's so long that I had to make a Part 2.

Okay here goes!

Ah, the Gabriel version of the theme. This really took me by surprise. It's fire tho.

Straight into the action, I like it.

Max and Markov aren't different people in this?

That's some entrance from Shady and Claw, really ups the stakes. Makes you wonder why Nino tried to fight them with a nerf gun.

Ubiquity is so pretty.

I might be the only one who liked the Gabe scene we got.

Feeling some nostalgia for the candy cane cosplay ngl.

And we get a good scene with Adrien and Plagg. I liked the advice Plagg gave about how not all destruction is bad. Neat.

Some Alya and Marinette. Marinette is going through some tough times and is in need of support, and Tikki takes this opportunity to escape from her and steal macaroons. No hate tho, you do you Tikki.

Though she does react to the people of Paris cheering for Ladybug. That was sweet.

Alya turns into Ubiquity, and then we get... Betterfly.

Betterfly? Seriously? Coulda just gone with Hesperia.

"I'm not sure there's anything to hope for from Ladybug." My poor baby!

Love the look of absolute confusion on Alya's face.

Hesperia's confusion about his evil counterpart is really funny ngl.

SHADYBUG

"There, you can have your boyfriend back~" love the delivery on that line lmao.

But also, CLAW NOIR

Not her just stealing his belt immediately.

Marinette hates Adrien Agreste. This truly is the reverse world.

But also, I love Claw Noir pretending to be his own fan to impress Shadybug.

Claw Noir sure does love using that Cataclysm.

For someone who just woke up to see her friend gone and a hole in the wall, Alya collected herself pretty damn quick. I would be freaking the fuck out in her position. Just another reason she's the best.

RIP Alya's phone. Gabe really did a number on you.

Shadybug makes a butterfly tracker, proving that she ain't no Gabe.

Hesperia is befuddled by our world, Part 2.

Hesperia (I'm not gonna call him Betterfly) is apparently a gentleman. It's almost disturbing after 5 seasons of Gabe being the worst piece of shit to grace our screens.

I guess no matter the universe and moral alignment, it's Gabriel's fate to get beaten up by teenagers.

Not Tikki loredumping about parallel universes right now lmao

Times like this remind me that Tikki is, for all intents and purposes, a god.

"You'd die before I could ever explain all this to you," is actually a pretty valid (and disturbingly hilarious) justification for not having bothered to bring any of this up before.

The Supreme is someone I'd like to learn more about. I've narrowed the suspects down to either Fu or Su-Han. Watch it be Lila instead if we ever get that info.

I feel like the info about the timers is something we should have gotten way, way earlier. Like, a few seasons ago.

If I was Alya, I'd have given myself away by now. Actually, I wouldn't have had the presence of mind to even hide.

Guess the counterparts are from some dystopian world ruled by The Supreme. It tracks with the look we got at it in the opening.

"In order to get something I wanted." We saw the Peacock Miraculous in the opening too, and also Emilie died. So I guess Adrien is a Sentimonster in the other reality too. Damn it.

I guess this Gabe realized his mistake instead of descending into madness like ours.

She just broke Marinette's box like it was nothing. So much for that.

Claw Noir lounges around playing with dolls and mocks Shadybug for being lazy while she does all the work and he lazes around. Have I mentioned yet that I love him?

Also I am glad they stayed true to Adrien's character and had him play with dolls.

The whole part about Chat Noir... be still my Ladynoir heart.

Love how they incorporated the webisodes into this. About time those had relevance.

Shadybug really "hates" Claw Noir.

Shadybug and Claw Noir have power, but not their strength. That's a really good line.

Located 62km north-east of the capital Manila, Daraitan village in Rizal province is home to about 5,700 residents, a majority of whom are members of the Dumagat-Remontado indigenous people who consider vast hectares of the mountain range as part of their ancestral domain.

But the village may soon disappear under the same waters that give it life, once the Philippine government finishes building the Kaliwa Dam – one of 16 flagship infrastructure projects of former president Rodrigo Duterte that is being funded by China.

The new dam is expected to provide Metro Manila with an additional 600 million litres of water daily once it is finished by end-2026. Officials said building the 60m-high reservoir is even more necessary now that the country is starting to feel the impact of the El Nino weather phenomenon.

But it was only in 2021 under Mr Duterte that construction finally broke ground, three years after Manila and Beijing signed the 12 billion peso (S$288 million) loan agreement.

Of the 119 on the list [of flagship projects of the "Build, Build, Build” infrastructure programme], Mr Duterte turned to China to finance 16 big-ticket projects in a bid to cement his legacy by the time his presidency ended in 2022. He embraced Beijing during his term and even downplayed Manila’s claims in the disputed South China Sea in favour of securing loans and grants from China.

Analysts have criticised Mr Duterte’s infrastructure programme as ambitious. Perennial domestic issues like local politics, right-of-way acquisition problems, lack of technology and red tape in bureaucracy led to severe delays in the projects.

The same issues hound the China-funded projects – which come under Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to build infrastructure in developing nations – with the problems made more severe by Beijing’s high interest rates in its loan agreements and local backlash due to displacement of residents or potential environmental damage.

Critics say the BRI has been detrimental in the long run to some recipient countries, especially those that have been unable to repay their loans, like Sri Lanka and Zambia.

The Duterte government’s failure to take advantage of its BRI loans was a “missed opportunity” for the Philippines, said infrastructure governance specialist Jerik Cruz, a graduate research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The four completed China-funded projects under Mr Duterte were controversial too. But they came to fruition because they had the support of local politicians allied with Mr Duterte and therefore increased his political capital, said Dr Camba.

Tribal leaders said they were not properly consulted regarding the project that threatens their traditional way of life. Environmentalists from the Stop Kaliwa Dam Network also say the project would destroy 126 species of flora and fauna in the Sierra Madre.

The Philippines’ Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act states that the government must first secure a tribe’s free, prior and informed consent before building on its ancestral lands.

But Ms Clara Dullas, one of the leaders of the Dumagat-Remontado in Rizal, alleged that the Duterte government had either misinformed or pressured other tribe members into giving their consent.

She could not bear to hold grudges, though, noting that the Dumagat-Remontado organisations that eventually agreed to the Kaliwa Dam were each given 80 million pesos, or $1.9 million, in “disturbance” fees.

“The Kaliwa Dam is the reason why our tribe is divided now. There is a crack in our relationships even if we all come from the same family,” said Ms Dullas. “I can’t blame the others because we lack money. I believe there was bribery involved.”

The government requires them to present identification documents, and only those given passes may enter. Mr Dizon said this is to ensure that no unidentified personnel enter the area [close to the construction zone].

“We feel like we are foreigners in our own home because the Chinese and the people in our own government are now preventing us from entering the lands where we grew up,” said tribe leader Renato Ibanez, 48.

Mr Ibanez also accuses the Philippine authorities of harassing tribe members who are vocal against Kaliwa Dam. Some of them have been accused of working with communist rebels, a charge the tribe vehemently denies.

Unlike his predecessor, Mr Marcos is more aggressive in defending Manila’s overlapping claims with Beijing in the South China Sea, but still fosters economic ties with it.

Geopolitical tensions between the two nations and Mr Marcos’ stance towards Beijing are going to dictate the fate of the pending China-funded projects the President inherited from Mr Duterte, said Mr Cruz.

Tribe members said they would be more amenable if Mr Marcos would revisit Japan’s proposed Kaliwa Intake Weir project that Mr Duterte had set aside.

“We like Japan’s proposal. It would not destroy our forests. It would not affect residents here. The Philippines would not be buried in debt,” said Ms Dullas.

This was among the alternatives the Dumagat-Remontados offered during their nine-day march in February 2023, when some 300 members walked 150km from Quezon and Rizal all the way to Manila to protest against the Kaliwa Dam.

But they failed to secure an audience with Mr Marcos. They remain wary of the President’s position on the Kaliwa Dam and other controversial China-funded deals.

“As much as we want to fully pin our hopes on him, we don’t. We’ve learnt from past efforts to trick us, make us believe a project is about to end, only for it to be resurrected again years later,” said Ms Dullas.

Could we have some notes about Miss Bustier as their teacher? I assume she works at the Asylum.

Caline Bustier is one of the top psychiatrists at L’asile d’Arkham, specializing in children and teenagers. She soon meets fifteen villainous teenagers

While she may seem unassuming, she knows how to dodge a bullet, knife, and acid hurled at her. That’s why she got hired

Mlle. Bustier: Hello, I’m Caline Bustier, and I’m your psychiatrist. *Dodge’s Adrien’s sledgehammer, Rose’s vine, Juleka’s knife, and throws one of Myléne’s fear gas grenades out of the window before it can explode* Now, let’s all go around and share our names, pronouns, and why we’re here.

She has access to very detailed files on each of the young villains, listing things such as their past home lives, psychological history, any emotional trauma, etc. to get a feel on why they’re all the way they are

For some like Marinette, Adrien, and Kim, it’s pretty obvious- chemicals warped their minds or society was just being a little bitch

She’d like to pick Nino’s brain a bit more to find out what went wrong when his mothers created him

After reading up on Sabrina, Nathaniel, Myléne, Kim, and Ivan’s files, she’s wondering if there’s any way to press charges against their respective abusers

She really wants to have a few words with Audrey Bourgeois. She just wants to talk, that’s it.

Alya has high levels of intelligence, but uses it in a destructive and rather disturbing manner when she’s bored

Also, Max clearly has some sort of superiority complex that went undiagnosed for years, leading to his robot uprising at school

When she’s not giving therapy, she’s making sure her kids patients are treated like humans by the guards. That means making sure they aren’t all doped up, getting Kim out of the basement, making sure Alya has access to twelve-sided rubix cubes, letting Juleka and Rose spend time together, helping Ivan with his ptsd, and helping Nathaniel with his anger problems

So, she doesn’t care for this Lionel Bolton character (Brownie points for whoever can guess this reference)

Bruce Wayne himself felt Bolton was right for the job, but it seems he doesn’t know what’s going on behind closed doors

When going to check the security footage, Mlle. Bustier became suspicious when she saw that any footage of Bolton was gone

So, she goes to the villains one by one to get their sides of the story

Adrien: … I got nothin’ to say.

Mlle. Bustier: But, surely, you must have something-

Adrien: Ya got a hearing problem or somethin’?! NO! Nada! Ixnay! Zero! Zilch! Bupkis! Nothing! Okay?!

Mlle. Bustier: … Then, would you care to explain how you got that scratch on your arm, Kim? It doesn’t look much like an accident.

Kim: … Happened before I got arrested. Just some kids from school, alright?

Mlle. Bustier: Marinette if you’re afraid of M. Bolton-

Marinette: What’s there to be scared of?! I’m the Harlequin of Hate! The Clown Princess of Crime! I scare people! Not the other way around! Got it?! He’s just some lousy do-good cop you chuckles hired! Nothing else! OKAY?!

Mlle. Bustier: Myléne, you’ve been sitting there quietly for ten minutes. Surely, you must have something to say, dear.

Myléne: … No.

Mlle. Bustier: And yet, yours’ was the loudest voice of protest. You must have some misgivings about his methods.

Myléne: I-I was mistaken.

When they aren’t talking, she decides to pull a page out of Batman’s book and do a gambit

Mlle. Bustier: Well, then, based on your testimonies, I suppose I’ll send M. Wayne a letter of recommendation on M. Bolton’s behalf, proposing an extension of M. Bolton’s contract for an additional eighteen months.

Alya: NO! You can’t! You don’t know what he’s doing to us!

Lila: *Slaps a hand over Alya’s mouth* Shut up! Just shut up! Don’t listen to her, she’s delusional! We’re fine!

Adrien: No, it’s all true! If we don’t speak up now, we’ll never get another chance! He threatens us, takes away our privileges even when we’re good!

Max: He says scum like us must be kept in line!That’s why he chains us down in our cells at night and electrifies the door!

Lila: He threatened to send me away to get a lobotomy!

Nathaniel: HE’S AN ANIMAL!

Ivan: A monster!

Juleka: Keep him away from us!

RANT : ML Season 5's Ending

I don't post about Miraculous much, but I need to get this off my chest.

WARNING :

Salt. Just...all the salt.

Chloe:

I don't like Chloe, she's a horrible person and hogged a lot of screen time throughout the show that could have been given to other characters, such as Nino. However, I find it disturbing that they decided to send a teenage girl to live with her abuser, with absolutely no friends; meanwhile her father, who only deciding to put his foot down last minute, gets to quit the job he's always hated anyway (even though he's abused his power before, and not just for Chloe's sake) without being called out for how he spoiled his daughter AND the adult magical terrorist gets a statue.

Not to mention Felix, a teenage boy who also has done terrible things, basically gets away scot-free. Remember when he basically tried to kill EVERYONE except for four people including himself, remember when he tried to force himself onto Ladybug, remember when he gave all the miraculous to a terrorist, remember when all it took to "redeem" himself was to emotionally manipulate someone in a vulnerable state into watching a play to convince her to solve the problem he caused for him (btw I can't believe Kagami came up with that plan and revealed Ladybug's identity behind her back, what the heck?) I get that he was abused, at the end of the day he's an abuse victim doing literally anything he can to gain the freedom he never had, but if he gets sympathy after all of that, what about Chloe? She was abused, she was neglected. Felix not only is seemingly forgiven and "redeemed", but still gets to be a permanent miraculous holder. When you combine that with how the narrative treats Gabriel and Andre, it looks like a sexist double standard...probably because it is.

Chloe sucks but that isn't entirely her fault. Andre spoiled her rotten, Audrey was a horrible influence when she wasn't straight up neglecting or verbally abusing her, Miss Bustier coddled her and Damocles let her get away with pretty much anything (although in their case I guess the mayor would've prevented them from letting Chloe face substantial consequences), Gabriel (and Lila) manipulated her multiple times. I'm not absolving Chloe of all blame, but she's 14. Leaving her with her abuser is horrible. That isn't cathartic, it's cruel. I'm not even asking for a redemption, I just think this "punishment" is too much.

Gabriel (and Tomoe too I guess):

Let's talk more about Gabriel. Gabriel, the abusive father, the magical terrorist, the guy that spent some of his final moments manipulating a teen, not only gets to make his wish, but also gets to be remembered as a hero. Statue included. Never mind that pretty much all of Adrien's classmates knew he was a terrible father at this point, they all clap and cheer when it's revealed he's getting a statue. The whole world is lied to and told the Alliance rings were hijacked by Monarch and that Gabriel sacrificed himself whilst trying to help stop him (I don't blame Ladybug for that though, I'm solely blaming the writers here). And we're supposed to be fine with this because he misses his wife and "tried to be a good father"? No.

An abused teenage girl is supposedly terrible beyond redemption, but an adult abuser is essentially outright vindicated by the narrative (the person he abused is tricked into thinking he was a hero, and Paris is basically a utopia post-wish). What a horrible message.

Remember, this may not be the end of the show, but this is the end of Gabriel's Agreste's story, and what an unfitting end it is.

Oh, and Tomoe gets away scot-free by the looks of it, because of course. Maybe she'll get comeuppance in a later season, but I'm not gonna defend the finale because of what a future episode might do, especially when this would've been the perfect time (and this goes for the possibility of Gabriel's secret identity being revealed to the public too).

Adrien:

I think Adrien is easily the most overrated character in the show. He's constantly coddled by the narrative, tends to "inspire" Marinette to be more passive and forgiving than she should be, and is incredibly bland (or at least he was until they started pushing just how angry he could get and how entitled to Ladybug's love he could feel, which I guess is something, but that something sure isn't pleasant); but you're telling me he doesn't get to have a legit passion beyond knowing he loves Marinette, to be involved in the final battle, to find out his dad is Monarch OR even that he's a sentimonster? He needs to know his life is tied to that ring and that he should be careful with it. This isn't "protecting him" (he's not a baby, if Felix eventually came to terms with being a sentimonster so can Adrien), if anything it's the opposite. Not letting him know that is dangerous! If not Marinette, Felix? Kagami? Nathalie? No one's going to tell him?! I hate to say it, but by robbing him of his agency and deciding they know what's best for him, they're being controlling over Adrien too; and no, I don't think that's "interesting", not after five seasons of Adrien already being controlled by someone else.

What is the show even trying to say? That Adrien needs to be controlled because he can't handle his emotions? Forget about giving him time or a good support system, he just wouldn't be able to handle it? If it was just his nightmare that'd be one thing, but Chat Blanc seems to indicate this is legitimately what they're saying. Why is this show trying to portray an abuse victim as someone who's dangerous and needs to be kept under control? Not just dangerous, but ultimately more dangerous than his abuser, since Gabriel made his wish and everything turned out fine (and at worst maybe one innocent person would have died/fallen into a coma had his wish not changed), but in "Chat Blanc" EVERYONE other than Chat died.

It does not matter if he finds out in a later season; it doesn't change the fact that his family is willingly lying to him and potentially endangering him by doing so, all for the sake of his abuser. Sure, you could argue Gabriel emotionally manipulated Marinette, but what's everyone else's excuse? I don't care if it leads to "interesting conflict", a) it's a conflict they've done before (Ladybug keeping secrets from Chat Noir), I'm not gonna praise the show for repeating itself, b) don't tell me telling Adrien the truth would've been "too sad" for the show to do but Marinette having to keep her mouth shut about Gabriel for the rest of her life (or even temporarily) is "interesting angst" (at least try to hide your favouritism, besides it's never even implied she feels guilty over this), and c) it's not like it will have a satisfying payoff, after all, it didn't last time. Even if Adrien does find out, Gabriel's not around anymore, so chances are Marinette will have to suffer the consequences of that, not Gabriel. That's not satisfying.

Like...Gabriel may as well have been related to Marinette instead (not her father but her uncle or something). Why not? Remember when he was her favourite fashion designer? (Don't worry if you don't, the show doesn't either.) Maybe have him become her mentor, imagine how much more of a personal impact Ladybug and Monarch finding out each other's identities could've had on both of them.

Why even have the main villain be related to the deuteragonist (giving him a closer connection to the main villain of the show than the actual main character) if you were just gonna side-line him in the final battle and rob him of any sense of closure? Whatever drama they can squeeze out of him finding out who Monarch is (IF he does) won't be nearly as interesting as it would've been to see Chat Noir confront Monarch, face to face, knowing that he's his father. Adrien might not even remember Gabriel being abusive at all, it's not made clear. But if he doesn't, all that time spent on Adrien's relationship with his father, building up a big confrontation between them? Wasted.

Remember how season 4 ended? How it built up Ladybug and Chat Noir working together to retrieve all the Miraculous back, after a season of them being more distant?

What a joke.

Is he the deuteragonist, or a trophy? The show can't seem to decide.

Marinette:

And then there's Marinette who, in a show that supposedly wants to empower young girls, doesn't even get to defeat the main male bad guy. After multiple seasons with her as the main lead, after multiple episodes where she's apologised or made to feel bad for either completely justifiable reactions or things that straight up weren't her fault (remember when she was made to say she was "out of line" at the end of an episode that was supposed to be about racism and police aggression?) meanwhile other characters rarely apologise to her in return, we don't even get the satisfaction of seeing her truly defeat the person that's caused her so much grief.

Seriously, she went through so much in this show; between the class consistently siding with Lila over her (btw turns out Lila basically had nothing to lose the whole time because she had multiple identities, yet another unsatisfying conclusion to a conflict), being forced to become a guardian, losing all the Miraculous, etc, and for what?

She failed. That's not me being too harsh. She may have influenced Gabriel to change his wish (emphasis on "may have", I'm pretty sure that woman was originally Emilie but in that case Nathalie being healed doesn't make sense), but her goal was to prevent the wish in the first place.

And why did they have to make her look like a fool? Felix's play spelled it out for her that Gabriel is Monarch, she even realises that he referred to the day she lost the Miraculous, but from the way it's presented she only figures out Gabe's Monarch after seeing him de-transform? Why did she think giving him a another chance would turn out well? She tried that all the way back in season 2, and it didn't work. Marinette is kind-hearted but she has her limits. You're telling me Lila crossed a line but Monarch could maybe be reasoned with? Why? Because he has a sob story?

Marinette is strategic and quick-witted. She's not an idiot.

Gabriel gets to make his wish and everyone else (who am I kidding, just Ladybug) has to clean up after him. Not only that, Ladybug does him a favour and ensures everyone is tricked into believing he was a hero. If anything, Chat Noir, the main male superhero, landed the killing blow.

Great. Just great. How empowering.

Bonus nit-picks:

--Did everyone on the planet seriously forget that the Adrien and Kagami in the Alliance rings aren't real, they're virtual simulations? That wasn't a secret. How did they fall for Gabriel's fake plea?

--If they were gonna put the girls from the specials and Future!Alix on the poster, they could've have them do more at least.

--Okay, Luka training with Su-Han was random but I guess since he was a temporary Miraculous holder it kinda makes sense...Penny and ESPECIALLY Jagged though? Nah.

--Ivan was the first person to EVER be akumatized then saved by Ladybug and Chat Noir. So with that in mind, surely he more than anyone would trust that they'd never kidnap two virtual innocent people, and would join Alya in reminding everyone else how they were always there for them, in a touching moment that brings the "first arc" full circle...oh.

--Look, Marinette is very talented, and I realise she had the book to help her but...I'm sorry literally HOW did she fix the Miraculous? Gabriel needed high-tech, presumably very expensive, machinery to re-shape them.

Final thoughts:

What makes this all sting so much more is that, wasn't season 5 supposed to be the original ending, just in case future seasons didn't happen? All seasons after this one are basically bonus seasons. So originally the show ended HERE. The last we would've seen of Chloe was her crying, trapped with her abusive mother. For all we knew Adrien would've been living a lie the rest of his life, looking up to his abuser. Gabriel is never fully revealed as the monster he truly was and is honoured as a "hero". Marinette literally gets stabbed in the back (well, it was her stomach, but you get the idea). There wasn't even a reveal, Ladybug and Chat Noir would've just never found out who the other truly is I guess.

Oh, but don't worry. Marinette and Adrien kissed.

That's all that really matters, right? (Never mind the fact that they spent five seasons building up to the start of a romantic relationship, and it will undoubtedly take even more for it to become a healthy one.)

Maybe the ending was originally different. Maybe they modified the ending of the season finale after finding out season 5 wouldn't be the last season. Maybe this will all somehow be fixed later (no matter how long they may will drag it out for).

Or maybe Marinette's blatantly out of character action (she hates liars, and only lied about her identity because she had to, even considering Gabriel's attempts to emotionally manipulate her previous episodes have made it clear she would not lie to Adrien, let alone the WHOLE WORLD, about Gabriel) will come back to bite her for the sake of having something to blame her for next season.

I don't know.

I don't care.

The writing for this show has been poor for a LONG time. I only stuck around because I still found myself having fun watching it from time to time, even as the problems got worse. That, and I was hopeful it would at least stick the landing. But after this, I don't think I can stomach continuing to watch a show that will probably continue to push such awful messages, and with such awful pacing.

Word of advice, all shows have flaws, so feel free to complain when a show does something you think is stupid (I've never found the argument that kids shows shouldn't be criticised because they're kid shows to make sense), but if you're not enjoying yourself because you can't overlook a show's problems, if you don't find pleasure in watching a show...just stop watching it. It's a waste of your time. Don't "wait for it to get good", don't wait for future seasons to clean up a current season's mess, don't continue watching it just because the fandom makes better content. I promise you there are better shows out there that deserve (and need) your attention.

So with that in mind...I don't think I'll be watching what comes next.

Gale Reviews: ML Season 5 episode 25 and 26: Confrontation and Re-creation

Since both episodes are out, I will review them both. Time to find out if the finale can bring it home

Spoilers below

-Gabriel and Tomoe think they are doing this for their own good. Should have called this episode Delusion.

-So they giving everyone nightmares, at least Adrien isn’t alone in suffering

-Ladrien dream was actually Marinette in ladybug armor. It looked cool but I wanted Ladrien

-Gabriel died in the dream, still don’t get how that’s a nightmare. (Marinette really forgot chat blanc existed

- okay Marinette’s parents dreams are adorable. Tom you sweet man, and Sabine care about their children and eachother.

-oh snap, Alya’s nightmare. Actually realistic and terrifying. For her at least.

-Tikki saw the food. Get it girl.

-Adrien technically been dealing with it the longest… but now it’s not special. Everyone be suffering

-they have a tech antidote for nightmares

-Damn, that is disturbing. And Adrien will probably use it… baby no.

-Okay he resisted. Good for him. Well it wasn’t an order, but still. Adrien is trying.

-Damn it, she was tricked by her friends

-Gabriel's cliche speech to Emilie. Blah blah blah. WHAT MORALITY?! YOU WERE ONCE A BRITISH CHIP MAKER?!

-NATHALIE GONNA SHOOT HIM! DO IT! END THIS MAN NATHALIE

-Gabriel really did the 'Appeal to her humanity' then betray her. Dude said he threw away his morality.

-Imagine the last thing you see is that ugly ass costume

-Ladybug learns Nathalie had all of the stuff

-Ladybug just saw that Monarch was Gabriel. Damn. I think thats a first

-Gabriel really just out here slandering and then leaving her with the poison app.

-DID NATHALIE JUST FUCKING DIE?! SHE GAVE EXPOSITION AND DIED

-Okay this is silly how they are turning everyone against Ladybug and Chat noir

-WAIT IS THAT FEI!

-Im convinced every adult in this show is an idiot.

-Oh good, alya is being logical.

-Oh wow, okay so the charm and Cataclysm that gabriel got actually are useful to his plan. Well played. Now die

-Well I gotta admit, the Alliance minion making is probably Gabriel's most effective plan. But like all plans, the women involved did the heavy lifting

-Plagg finding out that Monarch was in his house the whole time.

-LADYBUG CAT NOIR UNIFICATION!

-KICKED IN THE FACE!

-BUG NOIR!. Okay so I am very mixed on the outfit, but the entrance and that confidence is stunning.

(This is my reaction before watching part 2, so here is my quick thoughts)

For all the stakes and reveals. If I were to rate this by itself I would say... 7/10. I dont like how Adrien is absent for this whole thing. I really hope that this changes and Adrien somehow gets pulled in. Because quite frankly... THIS IS A BIG THING

The adrinette is sweet and all that.

But ADRIEN IS BEING GASLIT. Its some bulls***

Also how does Marinette remember the wish? Wasnt it supposed to be some cosmic rewrite?

All I know is... I need some time to think. Do I even want to continue watching ML. Knowing that Gabriel wins and gets treated like a martyr.

Season 6 needs to start with some sort of Upheaval. Consequences need to be had.

As for my rating.

I cant give it an honest rating right now. I need to cool off.

Is it the worst written? No. But the ending has pissed me off

Alya the staunch supporter of Lila spotting jagged stone said ,"sir, Lila saved your cat from an accident didn't she?"

Alya looked dumbfounded, "but but.. miss Clara nightangale Lila taught you your famous dance moves."

"I am sure the misunderstanding has been cleared why don't we all enjoy the party" said Amelia

all the guest returned to what they were doing prior to the disturbance.

"You were lying all this time, how could you?? I cut ties with my best friend because of you" Alya screamed at Lila

" you are so dumb you couldn't even figure out I was lying ."said liela while laughing evilly.

Alya angrily pushed her to the ground and started to fight

"security throw them out" said Gabriel.

Nino and Adrian were quiet during this time they saw Marinette and Felix and went towards them.

" I am sorry dudette I shouldn't have believed her over you please forgive me" said Nino while Adrian just awkwardly smiled.

"well I am happy you apologised but its too little too late you were my friends and you believed some new girl over me who you knew for so long just because she said she had connections." said Marinette turning to walk away.

"Marinette you shouldn't be like this you should forgive him he is your friend." said the pushover Adrian

"oh who are you to tell me what to do my parent, friend, family? you don't belong in any of these categories so Agreste don't even think you can tell me what to do afterall it was you who advised me to take the highroad wasn't it? Lot of good it did me." she said walking away.

"you are a real idiot I am ashamed to call you my cousin but thanks to you and you're foolish friends I got a gem and unlike you I am not a fool to throw it away." he said and went towards Marinette.

The day after

the class knew about Lila lying and were guilty and knew they had messed up real time they also knew that this time Marinette wouldn't forgive them and they couldn't really blame her as what they had done was unforgivable.

Marinette couldn't care less about them she had Felix, her friends and her family they were all there for her and that was enough for her. She wasn't going to be petty as she was sure they would all get what ever was for them, their karma.

Adrien: Mopes like a sad boy all the time, got what he wanted when the miraculous were stolen, harasses his partner, acts possessive of said partner, caused multiple deaths, caused Bunnix to be lost in time, threw a tantrum while the city is drowning beneath his feet, actively participated in trying to get people akumatized just to see his partner, is useless everywhere you turn, is a bully apologist, never gives anything to anyone even after the’ve sacrificed a lot for him, was only worried about Rena Rouge and Carapace knowing eachother’s identities and not the fact that Nino found his behavior as Cat Noir disturbing, etc (more transgressions that can’t be named on this post)

Adrien stans: Omg! He’s my king! He’s so sad and Ladybug is a terrible partner for not returning his feelings. His dad neglects him so that automatically makes everything he does ok!

well, the winners and top 20s for CYL8 got announced while I was ass-deep in the CK3, so I missed the midnight hustle; ain't that splendid. anyway, seems they dropped earlier because, uh, only they dropped, and the deeper results -- y'know, the part of this that really interests me -- aren't out yet. weird, since they must have already tallied those, but I guess it works out some way for people who are more interested in the final results

anyway, under the cut are my impressions about those top 20s

Alfonse winning men's is a jeb bushening the likes of which we haven't seen since Eliwood, or ever really. funniest thing that could possibly happen to Felix, too, since Diamant couldn't keep up and the Jugdral people failed to focus fire again so this CYL would have been all his if not for, y'know

on the women's side, f!Robin just barely squeaked ahead of Yunaka (2000 votes on the topmost spots is narrow difference; not so much elsewhere in the poll), so we actually got a 0% victory debut for Engage after all. but also not even due to Engage actually failing to make much of an impression, it was just how the die landed. that's how it be in this bitch of a world sometimes!

speaking of the Jugdral people -- I was expecting people to be pushing Leif, but in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have been too surprised about Sigurd getting a fresh influx of attention this year. Engage just gave him one of the more preeminent roles among the Emblems after all, both in story and gameplay as it were!

still on predictions on the men's side that I got wrong: well, I was spot-on right pretty much about Diamant and Alcryst, but Alfred only just barely hung on to the top 20 at all, which is about the furthest you can get on this list from my original prediction of, y'know, possible actual victory contender. he's not even beating Rosado

now, as for the alears: both of them broke top 10 but are a ways still from real contention, especially seeing as they're both third place so far even among Engage characters. in the direct comparison between the two, it seems that f!Alear is the fan-preferred avatar gender this time around -- and it's not very close, with a difference of nearly 4000 votes between them. we've seen worse (remember how much dirt m!Corrin ate in CYL1?), but the preference is clear

although, interestingly enough, a different avatar -- Shez -- has actually swapped gender tendencies this year, with m!Shez taking a pretty solid 900-vote lead. last year they were very close with f!Shez only barely leading in votes, so I guess that tie is somewhat breaking now? either that, or it'll just swing again next year.

anyway, I had an initial impression from these results that the Fódlan deathgrip is as strong as ever, but looking at the lists closer, it's loosening up a bit actually. to an extent this is because almost all of their top 10 CYL material have actually won CYL by now, another two more this year even, but elsewhere in the list they're losing ranks fast. Sylvain slid all the way down to #17 overall this year, while a lot of the lifers from other continuities just don't seem very disturbed to compete for space with Engage characters at all. (although the Elibe stocks on that front are in shambles -- Nino is decisively out of the top 20, and even Lilina just barely made it)

lastly, man, turnout for CYL is still looking abysmal these days, even with the fandom freshening up a little, huh. it has pretty firmly become seen as a FEH thing rather than the Fire Emblem thing it used to be embraced as, and FEH is, well, I know overwhelmingly more people who got sick of it than are playing it right now, Alfonse win notwithstanding. still though, our big winner this year again doesn't crack 20000 votes. remember when Edelgard won with over 70000 votes? (this was, in fairness, back when they allowed you to vote without a Nintendo account, but still!)

💛Good morning, everyone!

Kaikyuu VOL.103 "にのあわせ VOL.11"💛

Thank you all for asking so many questions!(While looking at the questions) Then, let's answer the first question right away.

Q1: "Lately, what's the obsession?"

💛 Lately, in terms of acting, i've been investigating what i can star in that will make people happy and inspire them to watch.

Of course, i don't know if i'll be able to act, but i've been doing that research and i hope to act in something like that a little bit.

Q2: "Can you share some behind-the-scenes footage of 『VIVANT』?"

💛 That's something i've been talking about since the days of 'My Family' (TBS).Although the director wasn't Fukuzawa-san (Katsuo) of "Vivant", the producer was Kazutaka Iida-san (of "Vivant"). Then i asked Iida-san, "What are you going to produce after that?" He said, "Next summer, there will be a drama with Sakai Masato-san and director Fukuzawa. "And, i heard that it will also star Abe Hiroshi-san... 💛 I said to him "Wow! I want to be in it!" "If there's any suitable role, please cast me in it" (laughs). When i was doing this job, i always dreamed of acting in the same production as Yakusho-san Hiroshi-san. Also, unlike in the past, being involved in a work as a non-starring role allows fans to focus more on the work. Of course, it may be worthwhile to be the main actor and to be involved all the time, but when you're not acting this week or last week, it's natural to take the work seriously, and the audience says, "It's not a big deal."And so the audience said, "It's not a big deal that [Ninomiya didn't appear]. I think that people who support me in this way have an additional effect on the "viewing" perspective of the work. I hope that you will enjoy the work as purely as you do, and that's very important.

💛 Dramas like the TV series "ONE DAY 〜聖夜のから騒ぎ～" (Fuji Television) have also demonstrated this kind of decentralization. With social media and other options now available, fewer people seem to be watching 1 hour dramas than before. 15-20 minute videos are also predominant on SNS. Therefore, i think we need to create a format that can automatically attract attention. In other words, if Takao Osawa-san, Miki Nakatani-san, and i are each responsible for 15 minutes, then ultimately viewers will be able to see a 1-hour story. Now is the time when producers also need to change their presentations in this way. Although the show may be over by the time this newsletter is sent out, i'm happy if people enjoy it.

Q3: "What kind of role would you like to try in a movie or drama?"

💛 Personally, i don't have any particular role or work that i want to try. Although i can't disclose the specifics ...... for now, thankfully, next year i'll be so busy that i probably won't be able to do it without 2 Ninomiya (laughs). Therefore, i will continue to be involved in TV and various media next year as well. Or rather, if i don't continue to be involved, the work may not end (laughs). Also next year and the year after that, maybe something interesting can be made. So there hasn't been much change in the way I've been acting so far, so i hope you'll continue to look forward to it.

Q4: "How do you feel about fans?"

💛 The fans may find the current situation disturbing because values are changing every day, and the environment and situation are also changing, and in this case, it's a fact that can't be changed, and we're trying to navigate the unclear situation. Maybe the "airiness" of the environment will get better and we can do more different things, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I'll do my best to reassure the fans who support us and keep up the good work.

Likes - Journalism, helping her sisters and mothers, scaring people, sleeping in her sarcophagus, scarabs, learning about history, going to the Egyptian exhibit at the museum, updating her blog, her boyfriend Nino, being her bff Marinette’s wingman, watching mummy movies, learning mummy magic, being dramatic (they all love bein a little extra)

Dislikes - People unwrapping her bandages, having to unleash curses, cats, fire (Her and Rose are petrified of it), angry mobs, Lila (the girl lied about her bestie and the Ghoul Squad!), Hunters, liars.

Alya’s not just a spooky mummy, but a good reporter. She is in charge of the Ghoul Squad’s blog, where she writes about their adventures, as well as sharing info on other monsters and news on the city of Paris.

While she isn’t royalty, Alya has created the identity of “The Pharaoh” that she uses when scaring people. She pretends to be a terrifying mummy queen who shambles about unleashing terrible curses. She loves learning with the Witches of Wisdom new spells for her to use against Hawk Moth.

She didn’t grow up during the era of Ancient Egypt, but is incredibly passionate about learning everything she can about the subject. She’s a frequent guest at the Egyptian exhibit at the museum.

Alya has a dramatic side, as do the rest of the Ghouls. She loves to whisper to her boyfriend, pretending to be a mummy queen who has put the boy under her spell. Even if they are both able to walk normally, sometimes Rose and Alya like to shamble around and moan because it’s fun and spooky.

She doesn’t understand why most people are afraid of bugs. She finds them wonderful! Alya takes good care of her scarabs, acting as their mother.

Moving Forward — Chapter 8

Chapter Eight

The cold hard truth

Adrien heard the bell, and reluctantly dragged himself towards his classroom, he saw Nino seating next to his desk, but when he sat down the DJ didn't acknowledge his presence like before. Adrien looked to his right and saw Chloé frowning and ignoring him as well. He thought back to Chloé's last sentence in her message.

She was right. He knew from the very beginning, but he didn't side with the victim, instead, he sided with the bully. What kind of friend even was he? He didn't know either.

Alya arrived on school and immediately felt that something was wrong.

Some of the students kept glancing at her then back towards to the person their talking to or to their phones. She wanted to ask someone what was happening, but every time she tries to approach someone they kept flinching back and immediately left. Not without glancing back at her with glee dancing in their eyes.

She made her way towards to the classroom and could vividly see a huge change especially on how her boyfriend's, Nino, scooting away from his very own supposed best friend, Adrien. She walked inside and waved at them, still trying to see what was the change. "Hey guys! Why's everyone acting differently today? Did something happen?"

The rest of the class suddenly flinched and immediately remembered that Alya was a newly proclaimed best friend of said liar.

Before anyone can answer, someone walked inside the room, approached the teacher's table then started setting up a projector in front of the class.

"Uhm... Not to be rude, but who might you be Mme?" Kim asked.

The woman in front stopped and looked at them. "I am Mme Cheilr, I will be this class' temporary teacher for a while. Mme Bustier is handling some issues right now." She explained.

Unknown to students, Caline Bustier is currently in a meeting with the school board along with Principal Damocles as someone had filed an anonymous report about Bustier and Damocles.

Alya was still confused to why people were avoiding her, even her own boyfriend is avoiding her.

Lila showed up in class in the middle of the discussion, successfully having everyone's attention for disturbing lecture hours, but was surprised to not see Bustier in front of the class. But she played it off, worried only for the three who caught her act.

"I'm sorry for showing up late everyone, I was busy helping a poor cat get off a high tree—" Lila started.

"Mlle Rossi, you're late. Stay after class, now go to your seat." The teacher interrupted her.

That not only shocked Lila but Alya as well. The coldness on their temporary teacher's voice was new to them. Lila being humiliated and being cutted off, she silently went and sat next to Alya, and whispered how the teacher's cold voice 'terrified her and reminded her of someone who use to do that to her back in Italy'.

At the moment, everything was weird and suspicious for Alya, the glances from her fellow schoolmates, the whole class' change and even Nino's sudden distance from his so-called Best Friend is driving her nuts. She wanted to know what was happening but couldn't act on it because of the temporary teacher, so she had to wait until lunch time to get around and investigate what was happening.

She felt like hours have past before the finally rang indicating that it was lunch time, it was as if time was ticking very slowly. While packing up her stuff, Lila told her that she needed to go to the bathroom and freshen up after what happened, and she nodded hoping to buy some time and ask around. Not knowing that the girl was running of to the bathroom and try to gain some gossip on what happened to Bustier.

"Alright, was is going on?! You can literally cut through the tension in here!" Alya shouted, demanding an answer.

"Maybe you should take a look on your so-called BFF, Als. She's not what you think she is." Alix answered.

Alya scoffed.

"Really? This again?! Come on Alix, you're sounding like Marinette! I'll tell you what I told her, you don't have any proof! That's it. What, suddenly your against Lila who did nothing and who Marinette antagonize every single day!" She shouted again.

"Well it's the truth!" A shout from the back startled all of them.

Looking at the back of the room, they saw their resident petite blonde girl, Rose, with an angered yet teary eyed look. Juleka was beside her running her hands up Dan down on her back trying to calm her down. Rose's hands were balled to fists on her side.

"The last akuma, we were together. Me, Juleka, Alix and Lila. She got hit, and started talking about how Marinette didn't do anything to her but the opposite. She was the one harassing Marinette,"

The class was shocked to their cores. Rose was known as someone who doesn't talk about someone unless it was necessary.

"I saw her expression. She was angry that she couldn't stop what she was saying, after the akuma was dealt with, we started backing away before leaving her there alone." Rose explained.

The class was stunned. But only a handful of students are not in agreement of what is happening. Alya is heavily disagreeing about her classmates confession about their other classmate, while Adrien stood shocked and indenial. He is certain that Rose must have been exaggerating, because if what is said true, then he truly messed up.

"Alya why is is so hard for you to try and believe in Marinette? I mean she is your former BFF... You couldn't even give her the benefit of the doubt?" Sabrina asked.

"Because! And besides you all know what Marinette can do!" Alya tried to reason.

All of a sudden, Chloé entered the room with a stoic expression on her face. She stopped and looked around the room before going to her desk and sitting down. No one understood why everything stopped when she entered.

"What?" She asked, when she noticed everyone staring at her.

The students slightly flinched before one by one filtering out of the room, leaving only Chloé, Sabrina and Alya. But even then Alya soon followed the students in pursuit of Lila to fill her in on what's happening.

The three girls, Alix, Rose and Juleka, went to Marinette's Family Bakery during their lunch time. After blowing up on Alya, Rose could still feel the tension on her shoulders, without Juleka's silent support she knew she would've already been on the ground.

Upon entering the bakery, Sabine immediately noticed them and the smile on her face slowly faded. She politely excused herself and approached the girls. She was looking at them silently before asking them.

"What are you three doing here?" Her voice calm yet strict.

Alix was the one to answer, "We're looking for Marinette. We we're hoping to talk to her about what we found out, and hopefully apologize for what we've done."

Sabine looked at the three intently, in her mind, she knows that Marinette would've instantly accepted them without a doubt given her personality, but being a mother and knowing your child has been bullied by her peers due to lies and manipulation from another student who views her as a rival, it hurts her. She sighed deeply before answering.

"Marinette's isn't here anymore. After we found out what is happening to her inside that school with the staff that we trusted, we deemed it not worthy enough for her. As a her mother, it pains me to know that my child is suffering from such mental assaults that it drained her, so we pulled her out of Dupont and transferred her to a school that will help her grow closer to her dreams."

The girls were dumbfounded.

"The school is in a place we deemed safe for her. As such we let her moved closer to that school as it may hinder her opportunity to be free from your school. I understand that you might've realized your mistakes, and wished to apologize to her. But I won't let you near her until she says so. I'll deliver your message to her, that you three are apologizing, but that's it."

"Uhm... We could send her a text if it's alright..." Rose said.

"Marinette changed her number long ago apparently. After she received such texts from her 'BFF', she changed it and didn't notify anyone. As it seems, we are busy at the moment, you can now go back." Sabine said before turning her back and going to the register to accommodate a customer.

The three numbly walked back to school. Feelings of guilt, sadness and pain overtook their bodies. Knowing that a person they knew so well before needed to change schools, because of them, hurts.

Going inside the classroom, the trio could see everyone on edge.

"What's going on?" Alix asked.

Max turned to her before looking back at his computer and answering. "Someone filed an anonymous note of how 'incompetent' Mme Bustier is. I'm trying to figure out who did it, because Mme Bustier isn't incompetent!"

Rose and Juleka went back to their desks and sat quietly, still processing what Sab— Mme Cheng told them. Meanwhile Alix went to the front center and told them.

"We went to the bakery earlier,"

Everyone stopped moving and looked at her confused.

"Marinette isn't going back. Apparently Mme Cheng deemed this school unsafe and unworthy for her daughter." Alix looked around before settling her eyes on Lila, "And it's mainly because of you."

"Alix! That's rude of you!" Alya defended.

"It's true. You might continue manipulating Alya but not us. I will never forgive you for driving between us and Marinette, that you couldn't take that Marinette knew you were lying. That you managed to rope Agreste into not telling everyone about your lies. The school knows what a fraud you are, and soon this class will."

Alix said before going up to her desk and stayed quiet after.

"Really? You're blaming Lila?! And why are you all so defensive about Marinette when a few days ago you all defended Lila against a bully, against Marinette. And so what if Marinette transferred?! She doesn't have a right to just leave after causing so much trouble! Where is she?! I'll drag her back here if I have to!" Alya shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Why? So you can make her miserable again?" Chloé sassed.

Alya scoffed.

"What you're defending her as well? So that you can be this noble person?" Alya said sarcastically.

Between all the shouting inside the room, two students are ransacking their brains on what's happening. Rossi didn't understand why suddenly her sheep are being so hostile at the moment, she could understand why Rose, Juleka and Alix are hostile against her, but now only Alya is left at her side! She didn't understand how everything is falling apart.

Adrien Agreste on the other hand is pale as white. His best friend, Nino, is avoiding him after finding out that he knew for a long time. He doesn't understand why he was receiving all this hostility just because he didn't tell. In his defense, Marinette tried warning everyone about Lila's lies but look where it got her? He just didn't want to lose his friends, can you blame him?

"No. I'm being like this because that liar needs to be put in her place. Done with the manipulation, and this class? They're done with your lies, only this tabloid writer believes you." Chloé's eyes lingered longer on a shaking Lila Rossi, not because of fear but with anger.

"And you're not dragging her back here. Besides she's already happy with the new support around her. You should've all seen how she smiled brightly, especially you Rossi. You should've seen how happy she was after trying to destroy her. That no matter what you do Rossi, you can never break her. Ever." Chloé sneered.

Lila was filled with hatred and anger after Chloé's words. In her mind, Marinette didn't deserve to be happy. Never.

"You failed Rossi. Because you're pathetic." Chloé added with a smirk.

On the other side of town, a serious boy is looking directly at a skittish bluenette.

"So... what did you want to talk about?" Marinette spoke rather sarcastically.

Félix raised an eyebrow at her before pointedly eyeing the floating Kwamis beside her. "I'll save you the embarrassment of explaining about how you just easily got found out. I want to talk to you about ideas and investigation on this whole Hawkmoth problem."

"Oh. Actually I might already have a lead, but I can't tell you. Besides I can't risking letting more people know that have possession of such jewels. I really appreciate the offer of helping me out in this hero business." Marinette said sincerely with a smile.

Despite disagreeing with her judgement of carrying it all alone, Félix knew he couldn't just interfere with her work, and will respect her wishes of working on it alone, even if he somehow dislike it. He also knew that when the time comes that Marinette needs help in anything, he can imagine himself suddenly putting down everything in a second and rushing to her as fast as his legs could.

Maybe it might not be for saving Paris, but just to see her smile at him knowing he'll be there to help.
