In 2024, stay fat. Let’s stop trying to change ourselves and dig deeper to change the world. Let’s not spend another penny on industries that profit from disempowerment, trying to colonize our minds with the lie that we are not good enough as we are. That our differences aren’t our strengths. That change isn’t part of life. That we have to earn our value. All that nonsense keeps us busy and quiet.

In 2024 let’s spend our precious time and energy pursuing joy, strengthening connections, making art, laughing until we cry, caring for each other, trying wild ideas, eating nachos, falling in love, stretching our minds, dancing, and playing. Let’s equip ourselves to be better activists, each in our own way. Let’s bring our unique gifts to the table. Let’s figure out what bullshit to let go of so we can rest more. So that we have energy to connect. So we can imagine better ways of doing things.

When I say “stay fat” I mean it. Stay everything that you are. Be everything that you’ve been told to change about yourself. Do what you desire in the body you have now. Wear your differences as a badge of pride- of your refusal to buy what they’re selling.

It’s easier said than done, for some more than others. But you are lovable fat. You are lovable skinny, short, tall, Brown, Black, Queer, weird, Disabled.

Your dimples and scars, your cellulite and rolls are lovable - and anyone who tells you differently is struggling to understand that they are lovable, too.

We don’t have time to waste fighting against ourselves. We have bigger things to fight. The path out of the dumpster fire of capitalism and towards collective liberation will not be found while we’re cutting carbs or counting calories.

What is this pride over not making New Years Resolutions, Bragging about trashing goals, giving up as badges of honor, lazy life as a status?!! W.T.F. ... I have made and kept New Years Resolutions for as long as I could remember. A few years ago in a yoga group doing a #baptiste #40daystoapersonalrevolution I was blown away by the weak sauce "intentions" that got set, and encouraged. I was shocked by the whatever I suck at this growth thing attitude.. let's just say some warm fuzzy, extremely vague sentiments and congratulate each other on sweet delicate success. ppsssssshhhhhhhtttt w h a t ? ... I sat and thought, and journaled... I journaled hard. (is that a word).. Why do I love resolutions? Why do I enjoy, relish, love, and live in perpetual growth and personal development? What creates fear, shame, exhaustion, and resentment of failure in others? So I wrote a workbook called manifest. That was January 2016. ... It worked for some, while others tossed it in a junk drawer. I learned more about why this paradigm doesn't work... I am rewriting that pamphlet. . . .. I learned the importance of language. I learned the importance of playing games vs setting rigid rules and structures. I learned that there is joy in failure. We need to fail. Because from failure comes sustainable success. Stop living off of will power. Fail, rework, fail, recreate, snap into natural desire and create things with staying power. Because you want to. Because you like to. ... Happy New Year! 🎊 Throwback to January 1st, 2016 @tmoms. “New year, same you” — The very first poster I created featuring my font. This posters message was meant to be interpreted either as a positive or negative message. Not every year needs a resolution. Sometimes you are happy with who you are and where you’re going. Other times, maybe you do need to make adjustments in your life but you procrastinate and never change. 2018 (in terms of my art) was an ok year for me. I explored new styles, techniques and continued to develop who I am as an artist. There were a few moments in 2018 where I lacked motivation to create and lost track of why I continue to do this whole street art thing. However, in 2019 I have my eyes set on new goals fueled by new motivation. I recently moved into a new studio space where I’ll finally be able to create the things I’ve been wanting to create and bring to the street. Thank you to my followers who continue to support me.
