It's been awhile, couple hundred of years.
Give or take.
It's not that bad, Cyno.
Just a bit of ache. A bit of yearning.
Ah, and missing you for all of the eternal life I was cursed with.
Selfish desires of the heart that was once moved.

qtubbo is a someone born from the love of the universe, ya know the end poem with the 2 'gods' talking? blue and green. tubbos eyes? blue and green. how the gods see the world? very different from those who live in it- how tubbo sees the world? very different from how those 2 gods saw the world but so much more than what other islanders or even the federation see-
tubbos seemingly weather related powers? its how his reality related powers manifest with emotions, but he can bend reality as needs be, need to get through this wall? grab a bike and cycle through- why needs the bike? why do gods need offerings or things that 'hold' or 'guide' their power? cuz it works, just like all the bad luck stuff, power runs on weird rules ok? and tubbo being unseen by anyone but etoiles was slip of control in powers which was unexpected, he got stronger
basically, tubbo is a godling and he can and will break reality because he sees reality as a tangible and mutable thing to a larger extent than anyone around him can (fed keep an eye on him so they can do 'reality checks' or at least they try)

the thing about the adult gaang movie is even if it’s somehow done really well, i don’t wanna see aang and katara as adults, that will actually make me really sad. whereas if sokka is the protagonist that’s fine because i already think everyone should heal and find fulfillment after the war except for sokka. i think sokka should get worse. i think sokka should continue collecting mental illnesses like they’re pokemans creatures. a qing dynasty court intrigue film with sokka navigating ba sing se politics (and iroh can feature as he dispenses occasional wisdom. but sokka is just like “call your son”), or a xai bau spy thriller (except tbh this one would work better as a novel), or even just. a mai and sokka roadtrip movie in the style of an early 2000s stoner comedy (this one would have no artistic merit but it’s also probably the best idea ive ever had). these are but a few examples of the many ideas i have for movies that put my favorite guy through hours of suffering without having to depict my other favorite guys as anything other than the precious babies i know and love.

Still can't get over Djoseras's character arc. Heroically tragic, morally invalidated - structurally genius, since we rediscover him at the same speed Oltyx does, layer by layer as he peels his deceptions away. There is something deeply unhinged about the way Djoseras saw life while he himself was alive, in a way the standard necron contempt towards organics can't match.
He's merciless. He's loving. He's a rival, he's a mentor, he's untrustworthy. He's the best brother Oltyx could have had. He's a mirror for princes. Most of what he says is wrong, because he does not know better, or a lie, because his princehood is an unwilling burden and has become a fundamental dishonesty. He's a terrible DJ. His best friend was his enemy. Spiritually he has joined his brother in exile, setting himself apart in the landscape closest to Sedh their crownworld has to offer. His malice is almost entirely in Oltyx's imagination. He wasn't thinking about how wrong he was about everything 'since [he and Oltyx] spoke in the desert'. He's actually been thinking about it since Oltyx got exiled, spending hundreds of years carving apologies upon his own soldiers. They're even less capable of protesting whatever he brings upon them than they would have as necrontyr. They're not the people he destroyed, and not the people who can grant him forgiveness. If they could throw aside their hierachies and see one another person-to-person, they wouldn't owe him a damn thing, and he knows that and it kills him which is just as well because Oltyx killed him too.
His best-lived self belonged entirely to Oltyx. And Oltyx forgot about him, twisted the memories into something he was not, and he locked Djoseras away where neither he nor his elder brother could reach until it was too late. (Though the moral teachings kept leaking out, like pus from a wound.) Djoseras was already dead from the moment we saw him in the desert. In a way, he too is a 'twice-dead king', except he never wished to be a king and so he just keeps dying and dying until there's nothing more of him left to die. But they're necrons. They're all dead. They don't change, they never come back, only Oltyx can come back and not in a form commonly acknowledged as necron. Djoseras would've had a hard time without being as inflexible as he was, but that was the path he chose and broke like iron he did. There are not enough tears in the world

*me crying* No you don't understand. MK ran away from LBD in 2x05 ("Run along now, destiny will find you soon enough"). He tried to run away from the curse in 4x07. But in 3x10, when everything was on the line, he ran towards Mei. He ran towards her to save her.

Tfw a scene hits you with such force and clarity, it's absolutely like a religious vision
When Astarion gets up in the middle of the night to handle the twins so they will be quiet and let Mercy sleep, Mercy sneaks off to the undercity ruins. Theyre gone for hours hunting any Bhaalists who are trying to maintain the ruins, slaughtering the Bhaalists, and then going to the altar to yell directly at Bhaal, only to be met with silence. Mercy screaming that he couldn't take anything else from them. They'd make damn sure of it. Just never saying "You took everything you wanted from me, but you cannot have the twins." And it's a threat. One that isn't answered.
Then returning to a fretting Astarion (bc they're both still unlearning their codependency)
#bat rambles#durge and astarion are still working through toxic habits after the tadpoles are dealt with#they're both codependent and until this point havent had to be separated#or even like exist in a way that wasnt together#Mercy’s his emotional support person#and mercy is a guard dog who needs a job and their job is protecting Astarion so no one can get close#while he shoots an arrow through their throat#but now mercy also is feeling protective of the twins#not even maternal projectiveness or anything#they just can see who they were in the twins and if they got a chance#even with them spilling so much blood their body remembers what their mind cannot#mercy got a second chance and theyre going to extend that to the kids#it's just complicated and scary#astarion is still very much in his head and just performing so he doesnt have to think about the Horrors#he's just playing 5D short-term chess but he doesnt think of the twins as people yet#at best theyre like disgusting little gnolls#tolerating bc he can see Mercy isnt rejecting them#and mercy is like preparing for him to be like. this is NOT what i want#even tho he's absolutely thinking to himself it's barely a blip in his immortal life span#the time needed to rear the kids enough to be self sufficient and independent is nothing#but mercy will NOT ask him to stay they would never ask him to do something they think he may not wanna do#but bc no communication he's very confused about why they're so fucking angry at him all of a sudden#bc theyre pushing him away#their act 1 relationship was v much defined by communication issues by two people who dont know who they are#never love an anchor

# 11.
11. Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
This one's kinda tricky.
The amount of characters I like that are unpopular and genuinely disliked by fandom are... not very many. When I think about it, it narrows down to two; but one's lack of popularity and the hate afforded to the character is more conditional on specific circles of fandom I unfortunately occupy the most. Once you move beyond that specific circle of fandom for the most part the hate lightens up.
So, technically, my answer to this question might be considered cheating...
Which is to say, unfortunately I happen to be a big Anakin fan whose stuck in the clone-centric/TCW centric side of things because I love Rex too damn much to roll myself back to the OT side of things where I could spare my brain cells the common fanon about Anakin in the TCW/Clone-centric side of things.
The reason I like Anakin's character so much is because of ROTJ, if ROTJ didn't exist I wouldn't be a Star Wars fan now. Plus, I am an absolute sucker for a good redemption story... but I'll leave it as that since it's not strictly relevant to this post beyond context.
The way the OT unravels Vader's character is quite engaging for me. You think he's this warlord who gets to throw his weight around, the one note villain, but in actuality he's revealed to be... the attack dog on a leash; he's the weapon of mass destruction, more machine than man. Until he isn't, until he's cracked from his armor and you see the miserable, pathetic human being under that imposing armor. He's the monster who lashes out because he's in pain, whose so trapped by his master and his own mind that he sees his only purpose being what is deigned to him by Palpatine. When that monster is granted an ounce of mercy; when he's been given the faith of his son, human connection (that isn't founded upon cruelty as with Palpatine,) he turns back, he ultimately does what's right. He stops the horrors Palpatine (with Vader's aide,) set into motion. His suffering, and the suffering of the galaxy is put to an end and Vader is put to rest at peace in his son's arms.
Everything about Anakin's backstory, how he became the walking shell of the man he was once; literally and figuratively, also factors into why I like the character so much. He's a very tragic character in the classical sense. Even the central hinge of his downfall is very larger-than-life in that Anakin cannot cope with his own grief, guilt, and shame due to his past as a slave and the way in which his mother died (which I also see as a symbolic death of Anakin's goodness, that his true fall begins with the death of the person who was the reason as to why Anakin was so good to begin with,) and decides to attempt in subverting death itself.
And, with regards to why I like him with the clones... I often think of them as parallel stories; their tragedies are intermixed with one another. They both end up weapons that are to be used up and discarded at a moment's notice. Additionally, the faith and trust Anakin had in his men and they in turn had him only compounds the tragedy of Order 66 to me. It also leaves the clones left in the 501st under Vader's command in an interesting narrative spot (that is not followed up by canon, but hey at least I get to sit here and overthink such a narrative spot through Vader & Appo.) It's just such a fascinating intersection of canon to me, one that, I think, factors heavily into Anakin's story (the repeated loss of his men's lives due to the fundamental nature of war no matter how much Anakin may try to alter it is something that only spurs on Anakin's downfall in my mind,) additionally there is also the effect Anakin had on his men; the camaraderie found for them with their Jedi. Especially Anakin's relationship to Rex.
But... to my disappointment most people chock it up to "Anakin never cared and the clones hated him," which I personally think is the most boring way you could go about this connection, and also completely contradictory to what we're shown in canon, but hey, you do you I guess.
Anyway, if I were to peel back every layer of why I adore Anakin's character so much we'll be here forever. Doubly so if I'm to explain why I adore Anakin and the clones connection, especially with Rex.
(also, for the record, the other character was Nala Se, but you, Kilt, have already said your piece on her better than I ever could xD)

The more I learn about the totk history and lore the less I understand where we are in the timeline. Minor Spoilers?
I'm honestly beginning to suspect botw happens next after skyward sword like 10k years after the last disaster when sheikah flourish there's islands in the sky etc etc because what??? Is going on??
I made it to kakariko all excited to learn new lore because apparently all the archaeologist nerds are gathering there (like me lol) and pretty much the first guy I actually spoke to was like 'yeah there's no record of zelda as a name outside of our own princess' TF DO YOU MEAN??? SHE'S NAMED AFTER HYLIAS MORTAL FORM ORIGINATOR OF THE ROYAL LINE ZELDA IS THE NAME THAT FOUNDED HYRULE WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR INFORMATION??!!
Like even if we assume its the post wind waker re founding that's still led by Zelda. What is going on.
People knew about the zonai, their name and how to translate their language! But apparently some King Rauru founded hyrule with no mention of a zelda?? There's a Sonia hanging around with the blonde hair? Do we don't we know anything about 10k years ago??
It's hyrules founding but there's ganon and rito and a new race no ones ever heard of that's apparently ancient but there's no record of them anywhere but botw/totk and the deku tree remembers link and the koroks are descendants of the kokiri and the sheikah have teleportation technology fused with zonai stuff but the zonai are from the sky and the sheikah never lived in the sky and also there's an underground going on with all the races and where is hylia or link in all this?? WHO KNOWS.
I appreciate Nintendo not taking their timeline too seriously but what the fresh blue cheese is all this.

oh I need to talk about this samurai flick I was watching on the plane called Iwane Sword of Serenity. badass name right? you expect the main guy to have an equally badass sword style, like musashi's ten rings or something that plays with the concept of eternity and emptiness.
except no. 2 minutes in and it's revealed his true nickname is "catnap" Iwane and his style is described as a "lazy cat sleeping" while he obliterates dudes because he doesn't strike back right away and looks completely at ease. and then it follows that up with a cat meowing sound and the image of an adorable brown and white cat flopping over on tatami.
anyways it's rated 6.4/10 on imdb but that single introduction instantly boosted it to 10/10 in my heart

still always absolutely obsessed with the theory that, yes, “canonically” reginald named them by number in the order that they were obtained but ALSO. he named them in the reverse order of highest likelihood to cause the apocalypse. like on a scale from 1 to 7, how likely are you, child of mine, to cause the apocalypse? how INTENTIONAL it was? is up for debate but it is oh so highly coincidental i can’t help but think about it

Continuing my thoughts because I need to get through this drama, I've invested too much time not to:
It's true season 1 was much more enjoyable than season 1 due to the fantasy and mystery aspect. I'm a huge fan of xianxia so it hit the perfect spot since sometimes cdrama xianxia can get really tedious and in over their head. kdrama has a way of keeping things rooted to the ground (mostly anyway). the acting was top notch in the first season, save for the awkward kdrama pauses but i chalk that up to the kdrama charm. however, i do enjoy the romance more in season 2. I think the chemistry between the two leads is perfect, and I love how they kept the original boldness of naksu. it is her after all. I think the actress is doing wonderfully considering the lore and what she remembers. amnesia plots aren't bad if they're done right, and in 10 episodes they did well enough.
my issue as always was with how many loose threads they kept on introducing, along with contradictions and plot holes. it didn't help that jin mu was practically invincible, since everyone and their mother in season 1 knew he was involved with alchemy of souls. not to mention the whole naksu/bu yeon dichotomy that honestly could've been cleared up with one conversation in season 1. also the firebird plot for season 2 was way too weak considering how strong the whole alchemy of souls thing was. there was no reason to bring back so-i only to torture seo-yul with half-assed what-if romance. jin cho-yeon moved too fast considering she was willing to kill naksu in the end of season 1 when naksu went wild and killed her father. i don't remember the medicine lady ever being that annoying and invasive. jung-uk, surprisingly, moved on from this three-year grief and love for Mu-deok quite easily. all in all, so much character suicide everywhere. but it's okay because i enjoy trashy romance and narrative patterns. ugh.
honestly, the show is very good. credit where credit is due. i was very excited and hooked all the way up to the end. the only reason why i started to watch it was because of the season 2 screencaps. I just didn't expect the ending of season 1 to be so deeply unsatisfying to ruin most of season 2. that felt unfair to me as a viewer and someone who wanted to respect the actors and actresses for their efforts.
i do want them to do a season 3 with a new cast and plot though. i would watch it simply because the world, magic, and action was so fun and interesting. i just hope they get better writers this time lol.
