#NaKniCroMo Day Twenty-Eight: Newly Learned/Challenging Skill
This last year I took the first little baby steps towards learning how to knit fair isle, even learned to hold a strand to each hand! This upcoming year, I look forward to expanding on that, and/or looking into the first baby steps of two stranded brioche knitting.

NaKniCroMo Day 9: Favorite tool!
These are my Lykke Needles. When I first started the fiber arts, especially in crochet, all I used was metal tools. When I started knitting, I used these metal circular needles. They had a permanent bend in the needle, and I really hated it. I tried some bamboo because “why not,” and they dented immediately. I was annoyed. My LYS told me about these needles, and that they are made of driftwood. And I fell in LOOOOVE. Then these kits??? Amazing. Interchangeable needles. It’s great. They also have a kit for double pointed needles, which if anyone wants to buy me, you know, that would be cool :) They also have great customer service. As a side note. Lol
Tldr: I love lykke needles.

// Day Seven: Crafting Assistants //
My beloved Henry lives with my parents (no pets allowed in my house) but he loves to snooze beside me when I knit there.
I'm also very proud that I'm getting the hang of knitting in the round (which was one of my goals) so I'm now attempting a sock!
Pictured: a sleepy Henry; a start of a sock hopefully

Naknicromo Day 7: Crafting Assistants
I have one main assistant PeeBee (Pause Button). She likes to give a helping paw at the best times. Then there is my overseer Pixie (Pixel). Our Cat Sidhe. Lastly there is Glitch. She gives no help, just meows. Rather chatty character.

Day 6: Inspiration!
I think I take most of my inspiration from natural places! I selected this yarn based on its similarity to the Adirondack forests I grew up in, and I’m about to start a shawl based on the Outer Banks of NC while I’m there next week.

NaKniCroMo Photo Challenge, Day 2: Share Your Goal
My goal is to...finish stuff. I mean, I do finish plenty of WIPs, especially the socks. But there are a few projects I’ve been working on for way too long and would love to finally complete. Number one on that list is this double knit Critical Role blanket! I just need to make three more panels (for which I have no chart designs yet, that’s what’s slowing this down, I have to come up with that...I’m thinking three different dice?) and then...seam it all. OK, the thought of seaming is definitely slowing it down too. But I will be so happy to have this blanket done! Also, double knitting is really fun so once I have the charts worked out for those last three panels, actually knitting them is something I look forward to a lot.

Colors: Mostly, I’m not knitting with really bright brights though of course sometimes I do.  This rusty orange? Somehow if I’m not thinking hard about my color choice, this is where I end up. That’s okay - I like it.
Tumblr media
I really enjoy knitting for others and like them to choose their colors. My current project is Hazel’s cardi. Here it looks like I followed my orange/rust theory. No. Coming soon, three lovely shades of pink.

Last year I knit this pride sweater for Therin. Great fun to knit and she was pretty pleased with the project.

NaKniCroMo Day 24: Longest Stashed Yarn!
So... remember how I said I started crocheting when I was 8? I’m currently 25, and this. Is the yarn I used for my project. Not part of it. It’s it. Lol. I was making a poncho/shawl, and would pick it up every once in a great while. One day I was determined to finish! Then I realized I DID NOT have enough yarn. So I went to Walmart to get more, and it didn’t exist. So. Frogged. I’ve used some of it for little project or something. But for real. Since I was 8.

Day 10: Favorite finished project
I started in 2017 so I actually don't have a lot of finished projects yet. I made this blanket for my sister last May to June. It was the first time I tried a swatch beforehand for a pattern and I was so happy I did because my stitches were too tense for all the slip stitches needed with this chunky yarn (Lion Brand Hometown USA, don't remember the color). So this was actually the first time, I sat down and tried to figure out a pattern with the few stitches I knew to get some type of texture that I liked.
The blanket came out super dense, so I saved it to be a Christmas gift for her, perfect in the winter.
It's also my favorite because of how much my sis loves it and said she sleeps with it every night. That's just a good feeling.
Photo to the right, it's actually on my bed so show how big it is. Just shy of full length for a twin. My sis is less than 5 foot, so we're solid. 😅

NaKniCroMo - Day 2 - Goals
Oh look at that. It’s an empty chair! This month, my plan is to fill it with as many amigurumi as possible! 31 amigurumi in 31 days has a nice ring to it but I also have a big order I’ve been a bit slow on so that’s my priority before sheer numbers. We’ll see how it goes though!
